Revenue for the second quarter of 2017 was $81.0 million, a 25.0% decrease from $108.0 million of revenue for the second quarter of 2016.
Uh Oh.... tomorrow will be painful.
A pretty steep drop in new station builds and compressors....these are leading indicators...
Rate of growth used to be in the double digits..SAD...VERY SAD.
It would indeed be a " NO BRAINER " if Toyota were to buy PLUG for $5-$10 per share.
PLUG is not worth $5-10/share. PLUG makes parts for forklifts,; if Toyota needs those parts it is much smarter to just buy the parts and not pay a premium for what will become a commodity parts business.
I always enjoy the froth surrounding each PLUG press release... I never see the same reaction over at Toyota...they just keep plugging away (pun intended) making forklifts and profits.
WHO SAID DEAD CAT BOUNCE ?
If you shorted into the rally last month you are up over $1.00 on a $1.50 stock !!!
NOT A BAD ROI !!
You had me until I saw that the article was written by Jason Hall.
I urge everyone to go back and read some of Mr. Hall's earlier missives.
I especially like the one that called for an increase in the share price when CLNE was at $12.00/share,,, a classic.
You you quickly see that this is another of his classic misses.
Buy the rumor and sell the facts?
AH trades are meaningless .
Hyster, Ballard and Toyota...all agree that you are wrong.
Toyota is much smarter than that.
Their Fuel Cell business and technology is better already.
Think of how bad it would be without the news.
Although renewing a contract is good, it doesn't necessarily mean more volume, just that existing volumes will be maintained.
So the news is good, but not great!
Natural Gas and solar power generation... for the Grid !!!
IS IT A "SALE" or a PPA?
How is FCEL going to ramp up without $$$?
DEBT? DILUTION ? Reverse Split?
There are still way too many issues which need to be addressed before we ger out of the woods.
$5.00??? Only after the
REVERSE SPLIT !!
YES. There is a poster on Yahoo who has owned 3 NGV's, but drives a BMW i-8. He loves the environment but hates NGV's.
He says near-zero trade-in value.
A better question why do none of the true believer posters own or drive an NGV.?
ANECDOTAL. SLOW ORGANIC GROWTH.
The initial interest has been fulfilled and now the real buyers are more circumspect. The economics are not nearly as good as was the case with $100 oil. So the rate of growth has understandably slowed.
A couple of buses here, a couple of garbage trucks there....It all adds up to slow organic growth.
The true believers have already purchased their NGV s which explains the slowing sales.
MORE TOXIC FINANCING... AGAIN.
That doesn't sound very ethical or legal.
I am too.. disappointed but not surprised... FCEL needs a ton of $$$ to actually complete this deal... and the smart ones know this.
Not true...if a company issues more shares, the existing SHAREHOLDERS are DILUTED. You own a smaller percentage of the company.
Aaah... but according to School House Rock, after a Bill passes the legislature, it has to be signed by the governor before it becomes law. If the governor vetoes the Bill, the legislature can only override the veto with a 2/3 or 3/4 approval... otherwise it ain't a law.
Kudos to the long-suffering longs.
Then why the major SHARE DUMP?
If all of the news is priced in, then there should be nothing but news driven moves.
And yet someone is DUMPING just before earnings... maybe he knows something you don't.!!
A MAJOR LONG DUMPING HIS SHARES !!!
He needed an S-3 filing !!!
So close to earnings too... Is this a RED FLAG?
Why? Why would Connecticut buy a fuel cell? Isn't that just good money chasing bad?
I can't get too excited about a few ports going cleaner... Not a game changer... just more slow organic growth...
And the conversion ECONOMICS at the moment are NEGATIVE (ROI) for most of the United States.
That can't be good.
OFF TOPIC , but yes I usually spend the ugly months in the BWI.
If I'm not on it, it is a great income producer...But not as big an income producer as CLNE and WPRT. Like having a 4 bedroom, 4 bath condo (literally) on the water.
WAS HB 7039 VETOED ???? UH,OH!!!
What does that do to future anticipated projects/Revenues?
Beacon Fails?
I guess CT is in enough financial trouble without adding expensive power to the mix.
Correction: NGV's are a small niche 170,000 vehicles and ALL NGV manufacturers have stated that the rate of growth is slowing.
If units sales are slowing... where do you come up with, "Presumably, as mfg scale increases, our cost per engine will drop and our affordability will rise ...".?
Even if an NGV cost was the same as a diesel or gasoline engine, the rate of growth would be slowing. For the same reasons why you don't own or drive an NGV.
There is a lack of infrastructure; it is inconvenient; the ROI isn't worth the aggravation.
Shub...You get it... FINALLY !!!
" public transportation, school buses, very high pollution urban areas, and the like are going to be our exclusive market niche"
This is exactly what I have been saying, WPRT is a parts maker for a NICHE!
And not a very large niche...buses and garbage trucks..
So this makes WPRT a $2.00/share stock, but not with this management team and BOD. These guys are swinging for the fences and spending like this is a major transportation play.
Once they get a team in who can manage a " public transportation, school buses, very high pollution urban areas, and the like are going to be our exclusive market niche" we could get to $2.00/share....
Otherwise...BANKRUPTCY...
Also...Not exclusive.
I saw this one on another board:
"The BANKERS have already made more on the short than the $16 million they will lose when this goes to ZERO...
What a beautiful thing... the BANKERS win , the INSIDERS win, the SHAREHOLDERS.... not so much."
OUCH !! So boys... if you haven't made or covered your position, you are not one of the winners.
SHUB...CORRECTION... This isn't the bottom.
If you are trying to sell at the bottom, you will have to wait a few weeks.
I did cover some options today, but at this point it is just funny money.
Unless there is a significant event my next cover will be UNDER $1.00 !
I think the knife is sticking out of the back of your head.
You bent over just to pick up a few pennies and the knife was still falling.
LOOK OUT BELOW !!!!
I love this stock ! And you guys are such a great help.
Keep posting positive news, the longer this "great company" hangs on ...the more I make.
Are we already for the REVERSE SPLIT?
D_I_L_U_T_I_O_N. AGAIN!!!
OH BOY, WE ARE GETTING SOME MORE SHARES...NOW I WILL BE ABLE TO COVER UNDER A DOLLAR... AGAIN!!!
I LOVE THIS STOCK!
The pump before INSIDERS DUMP.
The irony is not lost....
As I look at the 3 year chart, today's no decision doesn't change the multi year trend.
