Dude... she had the surgery at Johns Hopkins in 1978. The bar is in her back permanently. Sorry if I don't know the name of the surgeon... I was 4 years old at the time. She had not been able to have any back-related issue covered by insurance until Obamacare.
I'm not talking to you and haven't addressed you. I am just providing facts to a few people on here that seem to be factually-challenged. Yes, I am well-aware this is a real pandemic. If only the President realized and acknowledged that fact that much sooner. I don't have the details that you do regarding hospitals stocking less due to Obamacare. All I know is that my mom (who has an 18" metal bar in her back that straightened her curved spine due to scoliosis) was finally able to have insurance coverage on her back for the first time, because of Obamacare. Add that to the fact that my parents out-of-pocket health insurance costs, including the added coverage for her back, dropped over $800/month. The good that Obamacare did far outweighed the bad. Now keep fighting the good fight on saving lives. Hopefully Judge Du gives us great news tomorrow.
HAHAHAHA... nope... they posted an opinion piece from someone that used to work there, who currently works for a conservative think-tank, who put his agenda-riddled spin on it. No more or less true than what I posted.
WHAT was FALSE? And prove it. And yes he is my President as much as Obama was your President too. At least one of them acted Presidential and not like a petulant child... you can choose which was which.
What am I saying that is false? Please provide proof. I was born in Washington D.C., grew up in Tennessee, and have lived in Florida since leaving for college in 1992. Are you an American?
He claims so, but there is a clear agenda in his writing. He is certainly misleading. The building I worked in when I was in Emergency Management was shared with The Florida Department of Community Affairs. That department was "disbanded", but most everyone kept their jobs, was moved to a new location, and renamed The Department of Economic Opportunity under then Governor, now Senator Rick Scott. Many peoples jobs became from making sure all the permits and environmental impact studies and such were done right to streamlining the process for building and dramatically lessening any enforcement of environmental laws. The people at the top, in charge, would say it was not "disbanded", just "merged" or "streamlined" and things were better. But if you asked the average employee, that was FAR from the truth. This sounds like the same thing.
I'll stick with the AP, rather than a part that is in the "Opinions" section (hence, NOT written by the Washington Post), with someone who works for this:

I worked for the Florida Division of Emergency Management for over 10 years... we had many exercises, plus response to H1N1 while I was there. I have NUMEROUS friends and former co-workers working the response there right now. I know how it works from the inside.
You can ask the same of your President, but I know you won't. The previous President, after the H1N1 pandemic, formed the Pandemic Response Team just for this purpose. Your President got rid of them.
Maybe just those hospitalized with Covid-19 was what was meant to be said?
Hard to order 50,000 of something when the company that makes them can produce 500,000 and have 500 orders of 50,000 to fill (just an example with random numbers)... What I am saying is, if there aren't enough available, it doesn't matter how many you order... you won't get them right away.
No... tomorrow would not matter had it not been for Sept 24, 2018. If not for that day, none of is would probably even be here. Yes tomorrow is important, but that date will forever be the most important... and the second most important will be the day a buyout offer is accepted, if that does happen.
Why do you say that?
Somebody knows something!!! Decision is out???
Well, I live in Leesburg... not old enough yet to qualify to live in The Villages. My company developed an app just like Google Maps available to go to any residential address or business within The Villages using the golf cart paths... just like you get when you use your phone for directions in your car. It is definitely a fun place for those who want to live that lifestyle in their golden years.
Thank you... the economy here is obviously being hit hard because it sooooo depends on tourism. But people are taking many precautions... the numbers are going to be increasing a lot over the next week simply because we finally have tests available.
Here in Florida, with a couple exceptions like closing schools across the state, the Governor is leaving things up to the individual counties... most of the urban counties have shut things down entirely , while the more rural ones are just having everyone take precautions, but letting things up to individual businesses... I am currently on my lunch break at my office in The Villages.
Okay... but again, if they receive info during trading hours, the stock will be halted until the can put together a press release and give a little time for thenpublic to process the information before trading would resume.
I bet if we are able to get the POSCO thing resolved, even if it means getting out of any deal with them, KOSPO is waiting in the wings to purchase more from us and build more fuel cell parks... or use carbon capture at the fossil fuel plants they still operate!
No. He has not fully recovered. That takes a long time. Based on the link you provided, it says "he is feeling better". That is by no means "recovered". It will probably be another couple weeks before he is fully recovered and no longer contagious.
???? I will find out just like the rest of us... either when I see the announcement from Amarin or someone posts it on here if they have access to it before it is publicly released.
Well, we can hope it won’t take too long to resume... but understand what I said... it would be halted 15-30 minutes prior to the announcement... then figure 1-2 hours to put together the press release, then 15-30 minutes after it is made public trading would resume... so I am talking an a absolute minimum halt of an hour and a half, but more likely closer to 3 hours.
I anticipate (unless it doesn’t happen until Saturday), that the decision will be announced during trading hours. Now, I’m not sure of protocol given the situation, but either lawyers would be summoned to the court at a specific time, or it will be announced via e-mail or video meeting to all parties at once. My guess is that 15-30 minutes prior to the announcement of the decision, Amarin will request a halt in trading for “news pending”, put together a press release as soon as the judge is done, and then resume trading about 15-30 minutes after the press release is released to the public.
With the ongoing trial in China... it would be VERY interesting if the people running it could quickly tabulate those taking Vascepa (not the placebo) in the study who have been diagnosed with Covid-19, both the survival rate compared to the general population and the number who have since had heart attacks compared to the general population of those diagnosed with it.
Thank you for the info. I would hope that the court would inform the involved parties if there was to be a delay in the ruling and AMRN, based on their history, would issue a press release shortly after being informed of any delay.
Holy Moly! Puts our action the day Reduce-It results were released to shame!
Yep... I don’t expect a change in new prescriptions from specialists, but a drop in new prescriptions from PCPs. Refills may only be slightly effected... if a few people are too scared to go to their pharmacy if it doesn’t have a drive through, such as those that use Wal-Mart of grocery store chains to fill their prescriptions.
Has anyone heard if the judge will delay her decision because of Covid-19? I would hope not... if necessary, the judge can simply issue it via e-mail to all the necessary parties involved if the court is closed. I’m hoping it comes out soon foe sure. While I don’t have the funds to add to my position, last night my parents told me they more than doubled their holdings a couple days ago @ $10.07/share!!
Thank you! I expect this general downtrend to continue until Covid-19 passes, as people are most likely canceling/postponing their regular trips to the doctor in fear of being possibly exposed to the virus by somebody visiting the doctor for that reason.
Those were the statistics I saw from the WHO recently... I would NOT call them "invalid". Maybe a Fox News host might, but not anyone interested in facts, science, and the fact that, while infection rate is much lower than the flu or the swine flu outbreak in 2009, the survival rate is MUCH lower, particularly in vulnerable demographics. THAT is why it needs to be taken seriously. You might have mild impacts if you get it, but that doesn't mean someone you carelessly infect won't die from it because you choose not to take precautions.
It became the Federal Government's job as soon as a National Emergency was declared.
If the overall market was doing what it did Friday rather than what it is doing today, it would be.
Ha!! I hope you covered your short!
While I would love for it to move tomorrow... I also wouldn't mind it staying below $0.10/share until I can accumulate 100,000 shares.
Actually, because it can be spread by sneeze or cough, I do believe it IS considered airborne... you don't have to come in physical contact with someone who is infected... just air they have been in contact with. But I'm not an expert... this is simply how I understand the meaning of "airborne" as it is used here.
Since symptoms don't show up for up to 14 days, and people have been proven to be contagious up to 10 prior to experiencing any symptoms themselves, we truly have no idea how many people have been infected. Maybe the death rate is actually a lot lower because normally healthy people may have such mild symptoms, they never even get tested? We can only hope...
Okay, wonder if it is just an issue on my computer blocking access.
Look at those facts... and the facts are the reason for the mass hysteria 36 million with the flu... 22,000 deaths. 69,000 with Covid-19... 6,400 deaths. So, using those numbers you provided, the flu this year has a death rate of 0.06% while coronavirus has a death rate of 9.1%. THAT is the reason for the hysteria and why the flu is the flu and you should take your necessary precautions with coronavirus.
Can't get either link to work.
