I know. I figured it was a joke.
But the lack of any resolution to the hearing is odd. I guess Judge Lane is taking his sweet time in issuing a ruling.
We can't even get an answer on the injunction request to block any distributions.
Much less if there will actually be one...
Are we looking at a buy back in point somewhere below 40?
I need fluff shares again.
If, not once.
Those are two pretty big hurdles.
Although I'm rooting as hard as the next guy. Be nice if it happened in this decade though...
Appreciate that, but I'm really just at my wits end.
I keep holding on, years now, waiting for an impetus to come along that pushes us up. But the ones that do are all negative. Diseases, PRASM, terrorism, fuel, blah, blah.
Each slow steady climb is met with some setback. The chart says it all. And believe me, I take no joy in saying this.
I sold my fluff today. Still holding core but taking some off the table.
Of course, it keeps going up… :)
Oh well, can't take the stomach aches. Need some profits and I've seen these run ups a dozen times now. A day from now it will be some BS news and it all vaporizes. The six month chart looks like the EKG of a seizure victim.
First off, thank you so much on behalf of all of us.
That is awesome that you are so on top of this, and even contacted them. Outstanding.
I look to the case site frequently as well, and things do appear out of nowhere occasionally. I'm assuming it's as dates are assigned within 90 days or something like that.
But I prefer to think/hope that the lack of upcoming dates is because there are no more as well.
agree 100%
Wishful thinking for another winner like aamrq. In todays climate, I'd bet there's no way in hell Justice Dept. would okay any merger or acquisition.
So of course, the obvious question….
who among us brave souls are jumping on the RJET bankruptcy? Anybody? The next AAMRQ? :)
Probably only because they're spending the last of their buyout money. When they expend it, look out below. I got a sick feeling the only one really buying this airline, is this airline.
I'll take even the lowest at this point.
I was about to ask also.
Anyone?
Bueller?
You're right, kinda. It is a distribution hearing, but not the kind we want.
It's a joint hearing. Among several subjects being brought before the judge, the parties are asking to block any further distributions, and demanding AAL change it's math formula when calculating payout's. To the benefit of both the parties BTW.
Right there with you.
Of course, I know the minute I do we head to $50.
What a joke they we are discussing breaking $40.
This is just assinine....
But do we exit at some point? This roller coaster has shaved years off my life. If they would just switch from buybacks to debt reduction, we would be at $50 like tomorrow.
Amen...
So what does everybody think? Where we headed...??
It's been ten biz days since earnings. Blackout period's over. Possible buybacks unleashed. Volume doesn't quite support it, but it's one explanation.
Right there with you...
I don't know… I've got that queasy feeling… Hope you're right. GLTA
You're good… you're good.
whattya think? are we seeing a bottom here? Am I good to jump in? Please stop the bleeding!!!
Yeah. Something is up. Somebody knows something. Maybe a lawsuit or government action or something. Too obvious a downtrend while reporting awesome numbers, buybacks, dividends, etc. The debt and prasm stuff is nothing new. That's why i exceptionally don't like this....
I could almost literally punch myself for not having dumped and ran at $44.00
Never thought I'd be saying that… Sad face..
I'm tempted to buy more of we see 35, but it's got to be that low before I jump in. I always get nervous when I see analysts say there's little potential downside. Ha.
I'm beginning to feel pretty over it myself. Of course, when I bail, that's when the ride up will start….
I'm so sick of us dropping 2-3x more than everyone else does… F me...
Congrats buddy! Don't be a stranger.
I hear ya.
But realistically, in the midst of a good sized market correction and we're just tap-dancing on $38, it could be worse. I'm actually relieved how well she's held up.
There's a lot of speculation around about increased dividends and/or buybacks through the year. Either or both happen and this will see high 40's again. Just mho, but I'm thinking of grabbing some more if we get any lower.
I had a similar feeling a while back. I think you're 100% correct imho.
And it will swing back at some point...
Merry Christmas and happy, prosperous new year to us all!!!
Agreed. It's nice to see PT's getting raised.
My prediction is 2 more rounds of buybacks, and a release of BK reserve stock to shareholders of aamrq both by mid 2016.
I also predict we'll be brought to 90% of our pre-BK stock holdings.
Let's see how close I get… Maybe we should keep a roster of predictions for 2016...
timed perfectly to coincide with a new round of buybacks no doubt.
clever like a fox.
I guess a reality check to my earlier, pessimistic, post is that with such a volume, it would be at 25 if there weren't a substantial amount of buying going on also. That much is evident, so maybe, hopefully, I am wrong.
Brace yourselves boys. Somebody knows something. Monday may be a bloodbath. These a-holes are always out ahead of bad news ....
17 mil volume? Level playing field? I don't think so....
Yup. That's the only sane plan here. Ride the waves.
agreed. My guess is at least 2 more rounds of buybacks before they do anything more about debt, other than refi the most egregious stuff.
I'm thinking they probably need the deductions the debt offers, as the NOL's from the merger start to dwindle.
But don't forget Doug's pledge to "run this airline like oil is $100 bbl". He knows what he's doing. Even when he blabs about something and tanks us, he just scoops up cheap shares.
Painful, but effective...
