thats what amazes me, on how astute some posters are on this company. But I thought they already had the backing they need from all their holders? Wouldn't the next step forward in awareness be to bring the product to the masses? That alone would educate the health care world. Could the conferences at this stage, still in part be a ploy, to get large pharma to bite with a big price offering for the company, before its to late? So to speak.
yes. At this point to make known to the public what they possibly have, is it for more investment support, selling point to a potential buyout company, or for doctors to push for their treatments? At this stage, couldn't they just give updates on line to their investors and competition? Im sure it always comes down to money, but in what way?
Question. What (if any), is the purpose for ariad to keep investing time presenting at conferences (at least every other month). Seems at this stage, it does nothing for the share price. I would think it was to attract potential investors, but don't they already have enough institutional backing? Are they trying to sell their pitch to a potential take over company?
am a long and will state things based on personal frustrations and concerns. Not to be confused with bashing or trying to detour one from there position. my good fortunes in the gambling realm has been less than stellar. Wouldnt want to jinx whats been transpiring with ariad by assuming the possibilities that will occur, until, and if those possibilities come into fruition.
Thanks for the support vidpok45
Well established? Again, not bashing. Cant imagine anyone making stock decisions based on my concerns/frustration comments. I for one cannot say I own a condo in manhatten with the profits I made from aria. But I have done well, and for one, am hoping for better results. I am more cautious than most here. Sorry that I dont claim that we will all be millionaires soon. I dont like to count my chickens before my eggs have hatched. Joined this board more for the certain individuals that have knowledge wth this company ( in which I really do not). Also, seeking comfort from those individuals that tend to understand why the stock does what it does (dont want to lose what I made). So chill!
Saying recent malaise, similar to recent violent swings.
If thats the case, with the nda filling not taken place for a few months, I expect more of the same violent swings in the price till then. Unless of course, another catalyst starts to present itself stabilizing the price in a certain direction.
Not compaining. Other emotions involed. But needless to say, dont need to explain myself to you. As you dont need to explain yourself to me. I stated what I said about myself as my own doing. If you cant handle oplinions, facts, concerns, not my fault.
My thoughts exact. Thanks rum.
Honestly, if thats the attitude, then anyone here can make stuff up. Why would one waste time on a discussion board, if one had no stakes in it?...after all, not claiming to be any better than anyone here. Just lucky im in the game.
I have been staying the course since late 2008. Ive done alright so far. Im not stock savvy by any means. And really got on board the aria express by chance.
Early on when investigating what stocks to invest in, I came across other boards to tune in and see what was being said about those companies. As a long, natuarly I disliked bashers. But In my experience, it was the pumpers that were causing more damage to someone that is new to investing. as a long, investing on what a pumper says, almost guarantees one to lose money. At least a basher makes you cautious about investing.
For the most part this board is very resourceful. I wish i could bring the same informative messages to this board as others do. instead I respond to what I see is happening around us.
yes! I brought something to the table!!
Maybe in the negative?...
Not a basher either. I would love to wake up and see some solid news that would make the stock price take off. A buyout offer maybe? Frustrating to see other companies recently get the offers. Even though theres so much supposed good news going on here. Im not as keen about whats really going on with the internal works of the company, to be able to present to the board as others here are. Just a long, thats hoping made the right decision to keep holding on to this stock well beyond where we are today.
How about I take a stab at it, and say that...I predict we will end up on the positive side today!?
Cant replace BTH, he's much more knowledgeable than I when it comes to this company. l Just like stating facts on what i perceive is occurring around the stock. From the way it looks, can't say that the company is a POS...yet. Sorry that I am not a pumper.
i did not state anything in my last post that wasn't true, did I? Also, What I posted has no bearing on whether one should buy or sell. I guess thats why the post remains.
Although lately when this stock takes a dip, its much more violent than when it rises. But in all honesty, there really hasnt been any worth while news thats come out for months. Just the same old preachings of the possibilities we might have someday. which im sure will be more of the same preaching in the next meeting etc.
Very soon?...based on what?...and when?
1 post since yesterday...Please disburse, nothing to see here.
I dont dislike jim cramer. I actually like his schtick. But isn't he a little late to the game, when picking ariad as a buy? wouldn't he have more credibility picking this stock at a buy x amount of months ago? At the time when he mentioned ariad, he stated that he wasn't interested in the stock and would probably consider giving it more attention with a pullback...Which never occurred. Seems at this stage, if the stock does start to move up based on what most around here have speculated for months, you think he will take credit for informing people now?...heck, I could've done that.
Not that concerned (again assumption). Hoping near term will be fine. Frustrated, bored, a bit antsy because of how close we may finally be to a drug approval. Thats really more like it. Although I usually am a bit concerned over days such as today. Im no pro.
I was hoping someone would tell me. With all of the positive news (a sure thing?), why the drastic swings? Thats why I post here. Hopping for clarity on such matters that I believe some of you could answer.
As one of my previous posts stated, with a near future game changer, why a bigger % drop than most biotechs?
Not selling any shares anytime soon, even when there is bigger than expected mood swings with this stock. Besides, when it comes to money, not crafty enough to play the market. being long is just fine with me.
realistically, down more than the overall market today. unusual for a stock that has been hailed as a near future game changer. What gives?
just stating facts about the stocks performance. A stock that with all its positive news, people have stated, should divert from the same unease course of the markets. So called "clouds", and institutions, along with all the ongoing good data, can't seem to keep this stock from a ho hum pattern. Im afraid, that this board will have a dog days of summer feel to it, with not much going on for a few months. Hope I'm wrong.
Looks like the stock is working on its 7th out of the last 9 trading days in the negative. So much "near term promise"...? Huh?
Then why delay the inevitable? Why not file for fda approval now? All I hear is that the drug works. Surely they have had enough time to dot all the l's and submit the nda. Mass production for the drug seems ready for launch. Why wait another day? What am I missing?
Good for supn...still waiting on similar results for aria
A question to the posters on this board, who seem to have an understanding to the science and efficacy of the compounds ariad is developing. At the early stage 113 is at the moment, could any one here say if it is ahead or behind in expectations that pona was at, when it was in the same early stages?
Started the week @17.60, ended the week @17.44.= ho humm.
Optimism is why we are at the current price. Action is what will drive us higher.
Harvey, enough of tooting ur horn on how great this compound is and file the drug for fda review already! Then we can start moving forward...unless of course, a large pharma wants to make an offer...that would help us move forward.
Exactly why I think tomorrows shareholders meeting will not have any real bearing with share price movement. No new or real substantial info discussed. There are always people on the inside that will make the stock price move up a day or days before, by capitalizing on unreleasd positive news. Last three days...stagnant.
And with that said, its why I am still wandering how/why did dndn achieve a stock price of $55, with an fda approved drug. With the possible pona approval, and 113 starting to make head wind, plus other pipeline tidbits, why are some on this board not thinking a much higher stock price could be achieved in the near future? Am i missing something as to how strong or important of a drug dndn has, compared to pona?
I've seen that terminology written over and over again about stealing shares from weak hands in past posts. Is that what really is taking place when the price drifts lower from previous closings. Is that considered manipulation?
I understand, but there are many , many companies on the exchange, that have returned 6% in the course of the last four months. Realistically, we haven't received any significant news since the stock offering back in Dec., which made the price move.
we were at 15.98 on feb. 6. We are now, as of today, trading around 16.90s. its basically just gone up and down for most of the year (and thats after asco!). Much more active last calendar year (more to discuss). Thats what i meant when i said ho hum.
I hope so. This stock has been ho hum, for the past few months. Even asco (which is over hyped, in my opinion) came and went with no significant change in trending.
