I don't agree with your assessment of the concept, I think it is a good one. The reality golf shows on The Golf Channel, and many other reality-based shows that make less sense than this have done well over the past couple of years. And the areas where he is getting the show televised are hot golf markets.
I understand the bashing about the stock price, and the info that comes out about it. But not the bashing of the concept, at least in my opinion.
Let me ask you guys something about the entire price drop and reverse split scenario. Is there any realistic chance that a reverse split can be headed off here? I don't see it, really, but just asking if anyone has seen that happen at sub-penny levels before. Sounds like to me he is prepping for another R/S prior to any solid info coming back from Asian airings and any U.S. happenings. I agree that the activity signals BS, but the product here seems very real to me, and I don't understand why the guy would handle things this way.
Thoughts?
Again, letting all of this go here, because I think most agree we are enduring a very negative situation, and nothing is personal on here. Very dismayed, myself.
I have been pretty much just letting people blow off some steam, considering the dismal results of the past couple of weeks. There have been a couple of posts that were getting personal, but nothing has blown up into anything too nasty. People are not happy, and are making judgments about the reasons for the drop. I don't like seeing the negativity and blasting, but having a hard time seeing things to cut, realistically. Of course the posts that have cropped up having trouble with the English language are cluttering, no doubt, but person is trying to express themself, I guess.
I'll keep a watch on things, but seriously, things are worthy of blowing off steam here.
Encouraging to see green out of the gate today, and not an immediate retracement.
Hmm, honestly I don't recall. Will have to do some digging, but can't remember offhand, sorry.
Perfect answer for me. I appreciate your response, and welcome your insights and efforts. Good luck to us.
Revenue is on the horizon, based on the contracts and showings in both Britain and the new announcements in Asia. There seems to be more than enough in these two situations to make this a reality, without anything coming to fruition in U.S. syndication or a network deal.
I am upset with the performance of the stock recently, but to say there is nothing to show possible revenue is not accurate.
birdfluman, I agree...who are you...full of specific hints that really needs to be addressed. Thanks.
I think that if he has the cahones to issue another R/S split in the coming short term, he can kiss his future of selling stock goodbye, revenues or not.
Maybe we are sharing some revenues with our shareholder relations guru. Perhaps we have a vested interest in the new smash hip hop artist "M.C. Bud Selig." I hear he's appearing at the first fan incident night at Yankee Stadium.
That is a rather disturbing response. Cause for pause, no doubt.
His e-mail addy is: mpagnano@wglmilliondollarshootout.com
He may have other ones, but he almost always answers me rather promptly from that one. I would prefer not to hit him up again today...I don't want to be a buzzing fly that annoys him...I do appreciate his responses (such as they are) and don't want to jeopardize our communication (such as it is).
I want to assure everyone that I am very concerned about things here, and am not a cheerleader or pumper. I am honestly on the fence about what I think this opportunity is, and the info coming out now, compared to what I have seen in the past. I did buy more shares recently after the new contract news was announced and I guess I lean more positive than negative, still. I have taken a loss on the new share purchase, and am not happy about that, but remain hopeful of a recovery.
I invite the more seasoned investing pros here to take up the cause on the share structure and price/chart performances. My experience lies more in marketing and promotion, and media, and will study that part of things heavily.
Sent an e-mail to Pagnano, and he responded quickly. I'm not looking to forward any dubious info, or insider stuff, nor will he release any of it - which is good. Here are his comments about dealing with the sell off and share price issues, for what it's worth:
"We will have a steady stream of revenue starting in May. We will also have a US deal for the summer to air the MDSO. With the Rev's we plan on buying 50% of the shares back from the open market."
The revenue estimates have been mentioned, but haven't seen much specific about a U.S. deal, other than syndication. The 50% buy back with revenues could be a good thing, if the revenues come in. So, there is a little info for you guys. Do with it what you will.
Like I said, I am a relative novice when it comes to share structures, and much of the technical aspects of charts and short term investing, so I will have little to add in those respects. I will try to contact Pagnano on the apparent dumping of the past couple weeks, and see if anything comes of it. I welcome anyone who wants to find out specifics on the above info I am not well versed on, and I will add appropriate things to the IBox.
Ok, everybody, I have taken over moderatorship here, and am starting to play around with some of the features. I think I'll keep things pretty streamlined in the top box, with links and appropriate up to date info, and not clutter it up too much. I think we all agree we need to see more solid info from the company before we start marketing here at I-Hub...lol.
I will try to get some info from the CEO about the shares and the dilution/selling issues posted on here. I think the posts have merit, and should be a concern to all - especially so soon after the reverse split. I am not as versed in the mechanics of share structures as some of you are, so I apologize if my posts are a little remedial. Just an interested shareholder who will keep it real around here. Will keep this a pretty loose and open board that welcomes all viewpoints. Hopefully we can keep this constructive and non-personal. Cheers.
Guessing it's pretty easy to become a fully reporting company when there is never anything of substance to report...lol.
Have a great weekend, all.
Count me in, fellas. I think this one is zeroing in on a nice rise very soon. I've wagered a decent sized part of my penny money on it. Good luck to all (of us...).
Pretty fair assessment, sadly. Still, I do have hopes for what this could eventually be. I'm hoping in the near future we can get this up enough to make some profit. Definitely not a long term prop, IMO.
What bugs me about these PRs is that they are virtually word for word a rehash of the PRs of last week. Seems like he is desperate to prop up whatever price is left right now.
Yeah, I'm comforted by that as well. I think he would lose his continual dinner money if he pulled that again any time in the near future. Price should stabilize some once the airings start and the reports of that are worth a PR. Hope so, any way.
Definitely a lot of selling on this downward spiral this week. I think you guys are right about this.
That is a sad outlook on things, but may be right on the money. Putting out PRs to prop up the sale of stock would not be out of the question, IMO. Which also kind of defeats the purpose of the PRs in some respects, unless you need some cash for your weekend dinners, etc.
I've exchanged e-mails with the existing moderator of this board, and offered to take over the moderator position, if that's ok with everyone. I plan to try to stay on top of any info I can find here and post appropriate things. I am a shareholder, but a realistic one, and would promote an active give and take of thoughts on this stock - good and bad. Hopefully shareholders will make some money here, but it will not be a one-sided board.
Everybody ok with that? I'll e-mail Matt about it, if so.
Agreed...nice rally at the end, keeping it a nice day. Very happy here, now.
OT - Spark, on an unrelated note...are you still interested in moderating the WGLT board? If not, I would volunteer for that. I recently tossed in some more $$ to that ring, and will be paying close attention to that one. Do you have to be a paying member of I-Hub to be a moderator?
Actually, I do own shares (very few) of another company at this level, but it has morphed into something from something else that I originally invested in, and has been an absolute failure for me. I missed the boat on unloading shares prior to an unreported R/S, and I was left holding a bag of crap. Still holding that bag, as there is no reason to sell at these levels. Didn't want to mislead.
Depends on what you mean by near future...especially in Penny stocks. If you mean the next month, I don't anticipate anything too high, as I think it will take a while to get the shows running abroad for starters, and longer to make anything happen in syndication, if it happens at all.
I want to make two things clear here. I am far from an expert when it comes to these investments. I dabble in penny stocks, and this is the only stock I own at anything less than around 40 cents/share. This stock is more of a blend of my interests and my portfolio, and I consider it a big gamble.
There is plenty to be suspicious of in the past with this company and the CEO. I have been heartened by what Pagnano has told me recently, and what has seemingly come to pass. But I am not plugged in to the share structure and details, so please don't give my opinions any real credence when it comes to technical analysis. This has nothing to do with common sense investing, for me. It is a fun idea that has legs, if managed correctly, IMO. Worst case, I'm out a few dozen golf balls...lol.
Good luck to you.
I'm relatively "old" here, I think, compared to many. I agree with your assessment, more or less. I do think, however, that the recent PRs need a little time to bear fruit, and I am not panicking. Holding with reservations, but will not sell at this price. I expect it to head north, as long as promised airings occur.
I have no information to work with other than the PRs, so I am not pumping. I am disheartened by today's drop, to be sure. Much more of one than I expected.
Definitely a nauseating day, to be sure. Luckily (for me) my other two penny stocks are balancing this one out. Still holding on, I don't see the reason to move it right now. Sigh.
Literally hitting my head against the wall today. Over the past two weeks, I have been moving out of this one in part and in to a couple other companies that seem to have had more going on.
I just can't seem to get this one right. Sigh. Nice to see the news, still have some shares left.
Nice to see some numbers attached to this, even if it's just a guesstimate. Helps people think about value for their investment dollar.
Still concerned about the poor word usage and grammar in the PR's from time to time, like this:
"break into the main stream as an entrainment company"
mainstream is one word and entertainment is spelled wrong.
But, the news report is interesting, and nice to see.
Have they reported re-filing for the permits yet? I haven't seen it. That would be the first step, wouldn't it? The last update sure seemed to sound like it would be a while, but I may have missed something.
I'm guessing that licensing rights and format rights = $$. I love the market...big viewership, perhaps, in these areas. Already airing in May? That is good follow through.
Happy with the progress of late. Still unclear as to what a tv franchise means in real $$, but happy to watch and hopefully learn.
I guess retracement would make some sense, although I would not expect this one to drop too much with everything that has been noted in the past week. I'm content to ride on this for a while longer, and hope to hear some news about select syndication areas in the U.S. and some specifics on Euro and Asian airings. I plan to dig a little and see if I can find anything out worldwide on this.
Well, you have every right to be suspicious of this investment, that's understandable. I am, too, have been for a long time. I have done some DD on the airings on the Setanta, getting confirmation from a representative of the company that it did in fact air on the channel. It was listed on the Setanta Website, and showed up when it was supposed to on the daily listings.
Did I see it on that channel myself? No. I don't live there.
But the apparent airings happened after reports much like the Asian and European ones we just saw. Seems like a natural series of events.
U.S. airings seem far less sure, no doubt. But, I am willing to give this more of a chance than before, as I do see a difference.
I think there is a difference now than in the past. The show has actually been televised, and is signed to be televised in several appropriate European and Asian markets. That's different than promises of future contracts.
True, nothing yet in U.S., but this is better than before.
Well, I doubled my stake here, after the recent excitement. I think things just seem to be well positioned to move forward, perhaps rather quickly. I remember the hurtling upwards last year on basically no news, and the recent news seems pretty solid.
Hoping for some real excitement here...it's been a long time coming.
Agreed. I decided to put my money where my hopes are here, with the recent possibilities. Added some shares today, hoping the funny business might be over. Fingers crossed that the new info is solid.
Definitely like seeing the words U.S. and syndication in the same PR. Hopefully, this one will result in something close to his projection. 70% of top markets would be great, although I wouldn't expect it.
I'm wondering if the company will sign any European or Asian stars to be a part of those shows in their respective markets. Wouldn't it be great to see somebody like Darren Clark or Shigeki Maruyama on board? Important to watch costs and pay the winners, of course, but for television enticement, hopefully they will do something of that nature.
