Bigtim,
I'm guessing one of the issues may be around pc leases. Most larger companies lease pcs and I would bet there are very few that have a large penetration of TPM equiped machines. Leases are usually staggered at an employee or deptartment level.
John
Awk,
keep digging up the incredible information you find. You're just a bit ahead of the stock...which is good. It is better to be in front of it than behind it.
John
2b, thanks for the article.
John
Snackman,
agreed. Share price does not always tell the full story. Wave is still an undiscovered gem that will shine.
John
Spin,
you need something to do.
John
Wildman,
why in the world would Apple want TPMs, eh? They must see foresee a need in the consumer space.
John
Wildman,
you're our new Apple guru. Any other thoughts on Apple?
John
Trend1,
Everyone has opinions and everyone has expectations. What's so sad about it? As early as it has been in the TCG market, there has not been anything really surprising. There are 120+ companies in the TCG and none of them are participating for fun. Ultimately they expect to make money and to win business. However, none of them are currently making money or winning significant business as a result. That will change.
My bet is that Wave is a part of it. Fortunately and unfortunately Wave currently happens to be a leader in a market that is not currently generating money. When the tide changes, they have the opportunity to be a leader in a market that generates billions and the opportunity to be valued at more than a few themselves.
John
ootommy,
the bad news
Revenues were lower than the expectations of many shareholders and Investors will have to wait longer to be vindicated by results. Steven once again has proven himself overly optimistic.
the good news
Every quarter trusted computing is gaining additional momentum and the opportunities to generate meaning revenue continue to improve. No companies are currently generating meaningful revenue on trusted computing...yet. Wave has positioned itself well within the trusted computing market and as the market grows, Wave grows. Trusted computing has faced the chicken and egg issue, but that will not be a problem for long. There is a major commitment to trusted computing and Wave will be a part of it. A little logical thinking here tells me we are about where I would expect us to be and we are still in a good position going forward.
Wildman (regarding tvtonic),
if broadband speeds continue to advance as they have, there would seem to be diminishing returns on the tech, no? Perhaps there will always be merit for the cable companies delivering content in off-peak hours.
John
Hi all.
A long-time long here. Can anyone tell me how we could expect Wavexpress to generate revenues? I have been hot and cold on the technology, but with Wavexpress still pushing cartoon cow, movie previews and blogs, I cannot figure out how we will make money on the tech anytime soon.
On different note, it is good to see more and more exposure for tpms...hopefully we will soon take advantage of it.
John
Wavxmaster,
As far as I know, AMD does not produce motherboards, so I am curious on the validity of AMD including TPMs in some form beginning in 1st half 2006. My guess is that this is a reference to the inclusion of support for TPMs. I e-mailed Wave on this topic and it is possible to include the TPM functionality on the CPU, but it is unlikely since it would need non-volatile storage.
Whatever the case, this is very important to understand, imo.
John
Wavxmaster,
I too have seen the references to AMD including TPMs beginning in 1st half 2006, but I’m not seeing it. Perhaps this is a reference to Presidio which will take advantage of a TPM and is not necessarily the incorporation of a TPM.
If AMD were to somehow incorporate the TPM in the 1st half of next year on all of there CPUs, then that would be a rather significant development. However, I just don’t see it. Does anyone else have an opinion on this subject?
rachelise,
no one turns down free money.
John
Vacationhouse,
no, you are not seeing things. The following TCG pp lists them as an adopter:

in that case, let 'er rip.
John
Zen, the people you are responding to are not worth your time.
John
TPMs need to start showing up on pages like this as a solution. There is pc vulnerability test that asks questions like do you have a firewall, a virus software program, and other things. Oh the day when tpms show up.
http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/security/
John
Awk, yes -- the other components should be available by 2020.
John
xxxxcslewis, nice find. All doubts about TPMs are removed. Now how much geography can Wave get...should be interesting.
John
Doma,
very good point.
John
Kev, Wave has neither succeeded nor failed at this point. I think management’s expectations have been out of line. Which is in line with what you should expect from people who have pursued a concept that has not sold for over a decade.
At this point, this is exactly where I expected Wave to be, believe it or not. This is a market that is in its infancy, so I wonder how you have determined Wave is Betamax. If I believed that to be the case, I would have already sold. When the opportunity arises to ask why more shares are needed, ask. Until then, it seems a bit premature to draw conclusions either way. All IMNSHO.
John
Kev,
who created the tech?
John
Are the companies behind the TCG in it for fun? I think not!!! The group is motivated by money. Wave is front and center.
John
Are there any profitable TPM value propositions yet? I think not!!! However, the solution is being deployed in anticipation of this happening.
John
Has the need for more security gone away? I think not!!! In fact, the need is growing every day.
John
Has trusted computing happened and Wave missed it? I think not!!! This is the beginning, so hang tight. All IMNSHO.
John
Mark1, were you formerly employed by a John in the fixed income securities industry?
John
What do you guys and gals think? Any significance to the fact that Steven used the word identity 5 times in his 10 minute Dutton overview?
John
FYI -- I cannot reply to private e-mails on Ihub. I can be reached at jmpjomar@mchsi.com.
John
24601,
I do not have an opinion on Cisco and I honestly do not think it matters where they stand. There is enough momentum with TPMs to see they will be wide spread, with or without additional member companies.
John

go-kite,
I thought they were #1 or #2 manufacturer of super I/O chips. 4.5 million chips per year does not sound right, does it?
John
Weby,
I'm of the opinion that the market has no clue with respect to valuing Wave.
JMHO,
John
Armp,
nice thoughts. Even though I agree with what you say, it was still the best I have heard from Steven.
