Slater,I can't help but notice that u don't come into the action until the action gets serious. GLTU.
At times like this I believe u need to go back to the basics, don't u think? My mother is 87 and is on top of the world every day. What could be more important?
awesome post voodoo. I like ur mother. haha
That was my favorite part of the hearing last week...JMW saying that the "market evidently thought the worthless common shares had value.(sic)" Go WaMu
Whaaaat???? (like Diamond says) A cheerleading statement??? Goood for u my friend. An excellent Day!
That's hilarious, Rickszy, concerning the 1st amendment rights in men's restrooms. Agreed that Rosen seems more like a shaky character every day.
Voodoo this interaction makes me wonder even more about Rosen et al. I don't think attorneys are supposed to talk about their cases outside of the courtroom with complete strangers. Odd, very odd. Maybe there are men's restroom rules of which I am unaware. lol
Good. Cause it's none of your business
Fetta, I get communication about my Roth IRA shares same as the brokerage. Mergers, buy outs, all transactions on line, etc. all the same as brokerage. As you mentioned, it only matters if you want to withdraw.
I think the Senate subcommittee is extremely important but no expert here.
voodoo, I worked somewhere once where the president of the hospital asked us to contribute to the capital campaign of whoever was running for County Chairman (as in both candidates) because it was a sure bet that one of them would win. They were contributing to both campaigns as they needed their support regardless of who won. Reminded me of your post.
Nice. thanks for sharing as I missed that.
Awesome post kristallweizen.
you're right. Could be construed as a waste of money. I use Fidelity so the fee is even more. Since I am doubling my investment I am being conservative in the money I throw at this situation in one respect. I suppose I should b even more aggresive if I do go down that path at all. Not to bash but why does a stock trade at .0003 at all and what are the rules associated with that situation? Refer me to the rule book...hahaha
I read your post about case law and the judges response. I believe that is how she busted Rosen when asking him for an example of another BK case in which the EC was disbanded. Kind of a gotcha moment IMO.
Whoever wanted to know about options trading and shorting JPM had a good question IMO is my response. I don't know the answer but good question. Options trading makes my head hurt but it probably isn't that complicated.
Good one rickj. haha
Nice post deejae. I think all of us whittle away some time now and then on this board.
Welcome back Fish. You were missed. I think you do better than many getting out of the pokey! haha
I'll tell u what I know fetta although there are others who know more but no answer to u. Every year when I file taxes my accountant doesn't want to know about any trades, any end numbers etc from my Roth IRA. He just says no one cares and it is better than filing all those little trade slips inherent with a brokerage account. In fact, I believe you can flip and avoid the 30 day capital gains rule although I wish someone would confirm that as I have never done that. So all I know is that I can't withdraw anything until 59 1/2 and not sure what happens then. Suppose idea is that income less then anyway and it would be more than a year. Roth IRA helps me have the stomach to take on risky investments. I believe $6K contribution per year. Downside is that it is no benefit to me anyway, taxwise. Most investment gurus, including Cramer and Suzi Orzog, say you should max out your match, switch to Roth IRA until maxed out and then go back to your employer's fund. You are looking for a Roth IRA with a brokerage function which u should be able to get anywhere. Most people qualify unless they are filthy rich. haha GLTU
thanks daulton
Thanks daulton
Great letter. Do you or anyone else know if she agreed to have it stricken?
The reason I tried to buy $4.50 of this stock is because of my initial investment which was not much. I needed to average down so I had some hope of at least recouping that amount of money without throwing any serious money towards the investment.
hmmm. Does this mean u have a soft heart for a cause such as mother's trying to make their children look really, really cute? such as mvby
I am an administrator for neonatal and pediatric nursing.
I should probably know this but what is an ea order? I tried to buy 15,000 shares for .0003 recently and was told to call a broker. Maybe the same thing. Not good exactly. I hate to give my opinion in a way because others will accuse u of pumping or bashing.
With all due respect Halbroke sounds a bit like pumping. It is what it is with penny stocks but doesn't help to go over the top. IMO
Unless ur money is in a Roth IRA. Then no one cares.
I agree with you ETO. If she rules on the SJ, game over. Which is OK as it seems she would rule in our favor. However, given the fact that we are all into the American way and so forth I believe she is trying to give all parties the opportunity to work it out. Judge decision should really be last resort...in a perfect world
Yes, annoying as he is in most cases, he might actually do some good here.
I find ur posts intelligent and thoughtful
crap from Cramer is right. Poor loser, I would say.
Yes that seems very logical that these judges are astute to the way these cases work. The stick and the carrot is one way to look at it. Carrot is the 4pm court case so as not to affect the stock market. Stick is the fact that Friday is another stock market day. GLTA
aw c'mon. Least cici is honest. no harm there.
I don't think JMW has the JURISDICTION to disband the EC. I would rather debate this point a thousand times than the boring material of whether a share is a share vs pre-seizure.lol glta
I'd be OK with Obama intervening in this mess too.
I was watching American Greed last night about the Madoff case and how the SEC really missed something that was right in front of them for several years. There were multiple complaints suggesting Madoff had ponzi going over several years. Did you know that the government is considering paying Madoff investors a max of $500,000 each for their loss. The details weren't specific but the insinuation was the SEC should have protected shareholders from this fraud. Will have to do more DD when I have time.
My point is it seems like the government is getting more involved in some of these high profile cases. Your post reinforced that idea as well. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with government intervention in general, I would take a payout from the government for WaMu. Like someone said earlier, the government prints money every day. Sad but true.
Chiron and anyone else who might know, I'm the last one to rain on anyone's parade but I believe this came out a few weeks ago on Jan. 7th. IMO already priced into where we are now (not like that's fair or anything). I could be missing something. Is this from an old post that's reposted as current on Y board? They do that all the time. Drives me crazy.
Just noticed something. They are asking Walrath to set precedent (that's what de novo means) by disbanding the EC!!.....Fat chance lol. Basically what that means is that no judge has ever disbanded an equity committee appointed by the US Trustee....and that they want her to be the first ....lmao.
That's a good one Z. If I were her I'd say "Is that all you got?" OR....drumrolls. FRIVOLOUS
uzual, I nominate u for mod. You're our natural leader at a time like this in the WaMu story.
