Like I told you before... there was a good 4-5 month period of time that went by where I didn't even open up links posted, nor search articles for any stocks on SA. Until recently with this and a couple other stocks, I have finally meandered there to see if any articles of substance surface... alas, no luck.
Old dog new tricks and all that...
Another thought..... As a person who isn't a chartist, it appears to me (and seems worth mentioning) that from the chart he used in his article there is a bullish flag (Pennant) forming. If you are going to include a chart analysis in an article I would think that is worth mentioning. But again, not my brand of vodka and I could be wrong here.
I'm all for chalking one up for the good guys, but this did come across as contrived & plastic. The $100 he got from SA isn't worth the time it took from a reader. I hope more intelligent authors step up moving forward, otherwise silence will be golden.
I didn't delete it, however it was likely deleted because it referenced a competing MB. I've had posts deleted in the past for equally as helpful and benign posts.
Low float.... Not uncommon

Green all day and close on good volume with the rest of the sector in the toilet. I'm happy with today...
New SA article, running into a meeting and didn't have a chance to screen it so don't shoot the messenger.

"Mondays traditionally aren't good for this sector as of late"
Don't buck the trend
"Which do you think has a better chance of going up 5X from here in the next year? I would place my money on Marathon."
At no point did I broach this subject, nor did/do I think that this is not the case. Hence why I am currently invested here, significantly. I simply said that these are two different animals. On one hand you have a Micro-cap, low float company in its early growth stages with tremendous potential, on the other an established monster who shares few characteristics aside from both being PAEs with many irons in the fire.
They are not on the same level, they (IMO) boast different investor sentiment and core principals in essence of expected outcomes by investors. If anything, they should be viewed as what one is, and what the other resembles at an early stage and aspires to be. Yes, MARA has that potential and my money is banking on it. I'll settle for a double. I'm in the camp of under-expect, over-receive.
Acacia is a Juggernaut in the industry and cannot be compared with a company in its infancy such as MARA, however solid their operations may be to date. I own both, however they are kept in two completely separate brokerage accounts, as Acacia is not a speculative company and I don't intend to trade or sell it for years. It has a fantastic dividend, established record of success and a market cap to provide liquidity with the likes of the QCOMs of this sector. MARA is still a speculative investment in the OTC, and that is why it must be compared with other "apples," not oranges such as Acacia.
" I would appreciate any and all efforts on your part to ensure we do not get crushed by P&Ders"
That is the goal Chas. can't catch them all, but in sure that all here feel the same.
Vringo has no pudding, has zero dollars in the coffers from litigation, and will be collecting $1MM from Microsoft some time in the near future. MARA has already settled in a timely manner, also has more irons on the fire for future income with a smaller cap, and has proven themselves adept at litigation to effectively drive revenue. I'm not sure you can make this assertion here... Especially since GOOG is appealing and any significant money is well down the pipeline. Keep Vringo off this board for future reference please. TIA
Right on cue... Thank you sir
It was a good listen. Cooler should add this to his stickied list
Mondays traditionally aren't good for this sector as of late
"I think our new support level is 2.56 but maybe Noler or someone would want to look at that one"
Maybe you have the same magic 8-ball as Postyle.
I'll be very interested to see this hold support and build towards $3 by July. We shall see how this plays out EOD
"Smart money says 4-7$ around July who knows maybe $7- 10 this year
I was told by a very smart friend once the best strategy is to shirt tail"
this sounds familiar.... Circa August 2012 in another stock familiar to many on here
"2.56 is tough to target as support as it just jumped above that number in the last hour today."
I would have to agree.... But hope we are both proved wrong. The timing of the move doesn't concern me, but the volume in which it was achieved is. Low volume SP levels does not a pattern make. In the grand scheme, this is simply a line on the chart until fundamentals change.
"......I think in many ways that it is becoming a much more predictable sector as long as you have a good understanding of the company's fundamentals.......What I like about the investors on this board is that it isn't a love or bash fest. Just people doing DD and figuring out what is best for them......However at the end of the day...Diversify Diversify Diversify."
Yes, the predictability of the sector is like a warm blanket. However, it can also be that "BUT WAIT" segues in an infomercial that sucks an impressionable newbie into an investment at a less than actionable position, only to find that they were used as a prop in SP to support capitulation and profit taking by nefarious investor types. The fundamentals you elude to are the best weapons one has to to best arm themselves and encourage informed decisions.
I couldn't agree more about the board. I am very happy with the contributors here, and feel that there is a healthy mix of knowledge and cynesism to legitimately help investors to stay grounded, not over-expect, and hopefully over-receive in the end.
And for the love of god... I hope everyone read what you just ended with (including your son and my wife and kid)..... Diversify. Have a good night all.
I haven't been following the chart as much aside from volume and RSI to look for points to add more. I will follow more closely as we approach July, at which point if we clear merger then I believe the chart will have more significance (for me anyway). This is more for my own sanity than anything. Im trying to follow the day to day less, until volume and action picks up. Until then I'll sit back and enjoy your chart analysis. Good day overall, and I was green across the board as well. Looking to add here and one other in particular as far as my spec portfolio goes.
I like the content of this post. Stickied
Sorry for the typos....DSSing and driving
This company is an infant. It barely can speak a full sentence and people are writing off speculation talks 3 weeks ago for drain circling doom in respect to RS talks. I agree that it is correlated with bearish sentiment... However as you point out, this is likely intended for an uplifting and is quite a ways down the pipeline. This is the exact reason I originally stickied the post regarding the RS. At this point ignorance is more dangerous than arming ones self with knowledge of RS and if respective circumstantial relevance.
Common and options (Dec $2.50)
Ok thanks... That clears it up a bit
"Again, it has nothing to do w/the veracity of what EDVA says or of his opinions/assessments.
It is the "anonymous" part of him. It would be a completely different story if he had revealed himself to be a hedge fund manager or if he and his group were the money behind a successful PE group. This would lend credibility in the eyes of the Street."
I could be completely off base here as its been a long time since I was first introduced to EDVA via his Yahoo MB updates during the VRNG trial, however was it not him who didn't require money, rather accepted donations to help fund his daily drive to Virginia in order to offset costs and (one day) pay for his drinks? Again I could be way off here, but someone did this.... And I only know of two people who reported from court (confirmed)
This has been my line of thinking for a month now. I always regretted not getting in pre-merger VRNG. I'm very encouraged and I feel that DSS has the ability to be the crown jewel of my speculative portfolio for 2013. I won't get over-exuberant here, but I am watching anxiously through July.
I don't see this as a bad thing necessarily. And I also don't see it as imminent nor soon to pass. Patience here.
You do understand that with the RS you won't have any more or any less net cash in the trade?
In times of little or no material information, shorts arm themselves with two major bullets:
1. Market sentiment will remain shaky (especially retail) immediately following positive analysis coupled with subsequent information vacuum.
2. Should the stock begin a drastic increase in SP due to material news release, all they have to do is cover and they are immediately long. This will be at a substantial discount to entry point when they initiated a short position with the profits generated from the short earnings. The art of shorting is a beautiful thing, however I don't have the ability to follow every minute of every day and could lose my shirt on a short position, so I don't.
If I had a second sticky I'd put that one up.... Line a virtual "Beware of Dog" sign for this board
And this my friend is why I like you. Thanks for posting and adding a Sticky. This can and should be referenced by any with questions moving forward. Anything that we (current investors) know can be found in one of these referenced links. I'm curious now what the deleted link was that prompted this mental diarrhea. Probably better left unmentioned. I took a little hiatus last week, but will be back to the boards this week.... After tomorrow of course. Happy Memorial Day all
Trading nicely with volume at this level.
Ok I got ya. I agree. I still enjoy the stinky pinkies though
I would have to disagree that the public doesn't know about PAE's. Companies like QCOM, ACTG, IDCC, etc. have created vast fortunes for investors for years, and some would argue that they put IP litigation on the map as a credible, legitimate and extremely profitable business model. What separates these juggernauts from companies like BCYP?
Proof.
These companies have proven capable of effectively asserting and monetizing their patent portfolios, and do so over and again. Once a company gets 1 and 2 wins after litigation under their belts, and money actually hits coffers, the market recognizes that they are no longer speculative and can produce measurable and predictable results to meet and/or exceed revenue goals quarter over quarter. This is a right of passage, and until that happens we have to rely on speculative analysis and weighted opinions on facts as they are made public knowledge via piece mail from court motions.
This is why I bought yesterday.... Very impressed by the massive volume relative to average, along with the holding of SP (in fact barely budged). I have to believe the filtering of .02 shares has to be nearing an end. This stock can absolutely take off once it gains momentum as we have seen in the past. I feel we will likely see EDVA take another stab at this one, as well to save face on his last call that triggered an immediate 90% nose dive. This, along with a couple SA articles should shoot this over .30 again. It will be interesting to see if gains are sustainable this time.
I get it.... My wife still holds up an L on her left hand to remember which way is left
