Hi board, new here....
Today was the highest volume day in a very long time. So who is doing the buying and why? I picked up a few shares with some spare change today, but not meaningfull compared to over a million traded. Anyone here buying?
This is starting to look like a bottom with the high volume. Any other thoughts on the technicals? I have a little more spare change left and will either buy a valentines card for my wife or buy HESG:)
Any advise:)?????
MKGP News from Breaking News Board...
MKGP Maverick Energy Group Announces the Successful Completion of the First of Two Horizontal Wells
SAN ANTONIO, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 05, 2007 -- Maverick Energy Group (PINKSHEETS: MKGP) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the first of two planned Horizontal Wells in Caldwell County, Texas. Maverick has a 12.5% working interest in these wells and was in charge of the supervision for the drilling of the well. Once the production is established on both wells Maverick will become Operator of the wells.
The first well's lateral has been drilled to its targeted footage and the well has been swabbed for several days. Within the next two weeks it is expected that the well will be placed on pump.
Based upon the testing to date, the well could produce anywhere from 25 to 100 barrels per day. The actual amount will not be known until the well has been on pump for several weeks.
"The two horizontal wells are one of three main projects which Maverick is involved in and these two could produce a lot of oil. These wells along with our other two projects in Big Foot, Texas and West Virginia give Maverick a very diverse portfolio for an E & P Company our size," stated Jim McCabe the CEO of Maverick. "As Maverick continues to develop these projects our gross and net income should increase in 2007 and thereafter."

Hey guys, a question about AlphaTrade if you dont mind... I am yet to purchase access to the Alphatrade platform but have heard a lot of good things about it. I am presuming that participants on this board are using Alphatrade and so this seems as good a place as any to pose this question.
Alphatrade level 2 for OTC and Pink Sheets... just how much information is available on Level 2? Is it possible to see if MM orders on the bid are orders to sell or buy and likewise on the ask... for example, I can see that PHEI currently has 8 MM's on the bid at 0.0011, now maybe there are a large percentage of people who feel the price will bottom out at 0.0011 and they want to get it, but they could be stop limit orders for those wishing to cut their losses short... just wondering how much information is available from Alphatrade to clarify these kind of questions...
Thanks for taking the time to respond to this question.
Cheers, J.
Asian Markets down across the board again today (Monday March 5th) Gird your loins ladies and gents, if the spineless wall street crowd follow this lead, the big boards could see another very red day...

Hang Seng -777.13 4.00%
I smell opportunity...

Hi All,
This will probably come as no suprise to anybody on this board... but I have contacted the SEC Help desk twice now, asking for specific information pertaining to exactly how the SEC addresses the mandatory close out requirements detailed in Regulation SHO. My e-mail and the SEC's response are pasted below:
Sir/Madam,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my communication.
Could you please advise me what steps the SEC takes to ensure that the mandatory close out provision under Reg SHO is adhered to by those involved in the practice of naked short selling.
Secondly, what steps would you advise a publicly traded company to take, when they become aware that they are victims of downward price manipulation.
Preventing the public from accessing fails information due to the SEC's concern of illegal upward manipulation of price is understandable, but the SEC makes no mention of Illegal downward manipulation, what can a publicly traded company do to quickly halt this kind of fraud when it is uncovered?
Kind Regards,
The SEC's Response...
Thank you for your additional communication.
If you believe that provisions of Regulation SHO or the provisions of any other of the federal securities laws have been violated you can provide the pertinent information to our Division of Enforcement, which has authority to bring legal action against violators. You can contact our Division of Enforcement at enforcement@sec.gov.
I hope this information is helpful.
Sincerely,
Steven G. Johnston
Special Counsel
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
So my question still stands, as their response failed to address it... does anybody out there know exactly how the SEC enforces (if indeed they do enforce) the mandatory close out provision under Reg SHO.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this post.
Cheers, J.
British Conservative, 14 years military service, Iraq since 2003 on a DoD contract in support of USACE Iraqi Reconstruction Project, now living in Thailand DITTO's to all users of this board....
Thanks to the time difference (EST +12) I have the opportunity to listen to Rush online through WABC New Yorks Website as I trade... pure bliss... I used to live in NY, which is where I first stumbled onto Rush's Radio Show... he articulates the conservative point of view in an articulate manner and with more than a small dose of wit... which I just love...
I am especially thankfull that he now has his teeth into the Al Gore long con on global warming, this is something that has been a thorn in my side since the middle of last year... Watching 'Al' fly by private jet to the Cannes film festival and then take a fleet of SUV's to the premier of 'An inconvenient truth' was just too hypocritical for me to stomach... since then he has positioned himself, as the saviour of the planet, by alligning numerous comercial ventures designed to 'save us' whilst making millions for himself. He has shoehorned his way into Google, My Space and is even now an advisor to the British Government on global warming...aaaaaargh... The growing hysteria surrounding this issue and the reaction of Al and his cohorts is, in my opinion, representative of the fundamental difference that exists between conservatives and liberals in general... in the absence of a real solution to the perceived 'man made phenomenon of global warming', liberals have come up with 'carbon offset payments' for your 'carbon footprint' in order to make themselves FEEL BETTER... this is quite simply an intellectualy dishonest solution, from people who are too concerned with watching reality TV for the most part to take any real active interest in what is happening and what 'has' been happening for millions of years to this planet... Of course, being a tad less gullible... conservatives dont buy this BS one iota... Thank God...
Sorry guys, went off on one there for a moment... feels good to vent though... can you tell?
Cheers, J.
Hey DF... Just finished reading about your recent 'experience'... laughing away to myself here, not because its funny, but because I can relate, in more ways than one... I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for an apology, even if the law were blatantly wrong in what they did, it seldom works out that way... What about that adrenaline rush though... a real kick in the ass right? Remember what I was telling you about the zzzzip of 7.62, these kind of experiences flood your system with adrenaline, youre left trembling involuntarily afterwards as your body twitches around trying to decide to do with all this 'fight or flight' chemical surging around your system... If you know you are without fault, embrace it, turn it around and use it to your advantage, dont let it make you paranoid... enjoy the buzz of it... few people get to really experience that feeling, especially on a regular basis... me... I'm hooked on it...
Enjoy the rest of your birthday dude, later, J.
TRNP .022x.023 now at 0.023

TRNP beginning to print, could be coming back to life...

Apologies... I am now looking at the title of the form and it says AMEND in large bold letters... dumb ass... I'll go and stick my head in the oven....
Cheers, J.
Hey DF, question... Form 13G filed by UTEK on Feb 26th Just popped up on EDGAR, it says that this is based on the number of O/S shares of HESG common stock disclosed in HESG's 10-QSB for quarter ending Sept 30th 2006 and held by UTEK as of Feb 26th 07, just curious why it should be filed today?
Cheers, J.
Happy Birthday DF... positive mental attitude... things are gonna fly for you today...
Cheers, J.
Galloping to the bell at the speed of chilled mollasses... now tomorrow... I get the feeling Friday is going to be a red (make that a green) letter day...
G'night all...

Well, here's wishing you all the best bud...
Cheers, J.
Hi Tommy, thought you might want to take a look at a possible big bounce in play on PMCL...
Cheers, J.
Sorry for my delay in responding, still waiting for a satellite connection here, until its up and running, I'm using Dial Up... deep joy...
What I meant was, that I am sceptical of a lot of what I see on the boards on I-Hub, having read some quite obvious pump and dump statements on other boards... DF Picks seems to be an exception however...
Having said that, I see HYSL surging on the news you related, so please accept my apologies if my statement caused you offence, and congratulations on the good news.
Cheers, J.
Hmmmm just a little sceptical about that comment...
Cheers, J.
Yeah, these Wall Street movers really are skitish bas***ds, nothing like wiping out millions of dollars on a 'bad feeling'... as far as I'm aware, the sun still came up this morning... nothing changed from my perspective...
Cheers, J.
Hey DF, if you get a minute, take a look at VIDI, would like your opinion on whats going on over there. I was scanning for prospects today and this came up.
Cap - showing 0.00
Shares O/S - 1.05 Million
Float 0.90 Million
Revenue last year 6.58 Million
There was 118.25k volume yesterday, no activity for the previous six months, price jumped from 0.01 to 0.05, whats curious to me is the line up of MM's 5 on bid, 3 on ask, just curious as to why so much MM interest...?
Cheers, J.
I'm not sure I would couch my terminology in quite the way you have but I understand your point.
On a daily basis, I partake in discussions in which both self criticism and criticism from/of others play an integral part. Criticism is an invaluable tool which when used correctly can dramatically increase performance... but it should always, without exception be conducted in a clinical and respectful fashion, if not, in my experience, its better to say nothing at all.
I am presuming that most people using these boards have a similar goal; the preservation of existing capital and making enough cash to choke a dozen donkeys... I am trying to learn as much as I can from whoever will engage me in discussion on trading related issues... never met a person yet I couldnt learn something from, even those who rub me up the wrong way...
Cheers, J.
Thanks for your comments, and I agree that ALRY will regroup, I am holding ALRY and did not sell yesterday based on what I saw or what I heard. Only my personal opinion of course, but I was satisfied after conducting my own DD that I will make more money from trading this stock by riding it for a little while instead of flipping it in the short term.
Cheers, J.
Thanks Thumbs, again, not trying to put anybodys nose out of joint, just give a reasoned assessment based on fact.
Cheers, J.
I'd just like to add to this, that I recognize after reading back through the ALRY board that DF posted the following statement at 10:15:46, almost a full minute and a half before I posted mine on the DragonflyPicks board:
Yup CLYP showed up sold 2/3 riding freebies already.Man hated to have to do it but did nevertheless when they showed.Lets it go!!)DF
Regardless, given CLYP's history as an MM who dilutes, their bizarre behaviour, dropping the ask to 0.066 when the bid was 0.07, the fact that I did not see this post as I was not monitoring ALRY's board, and finally, that DF's statement still does not seem hysterical in nature, but perfectly reasoned, I stand by my earlier assessment.
Cheers, J.
...my belated opinion
It is not my desire to stir this back up again, I would have posted last night, but due to the time difference (EST +12), I was sound asleep when you guys were thrashing this out...
I'm suprised by some of the comments I read in previous posts in this string... I'd like to offer my opinion, because although I'm a newcomer to trading, I think its relevant.
After signing up to this site a couple of weeks ago, I proceeded to read everything I could find in an effort to learn as much as possible (it took a long time), some of it was B/S, but there are those who use these boards, as you know, who over time have been thoroughly consistent, answered questions when asked (even dumb ass ones) and given the good news along with the bad regarding their success or lack of it... Those are the individuals I wanted to watch closely, DF falls into this category, in my opinion.
Respecting somebodys opinion is one thing, you all obviously do in DF's case, otherwise there would be no reason for the original post. Blindly following that person, lemming fashion, even somebody as respected as DF, without knowing or understanding why is just plain stupidity, whatever walk of life you are in. Attributing blame to that person for the results of those actions, is debatable (to be fair, as there are those on these boards who do manipulate other board users), but there are many variables to consider, and I do not see a history of this behavior on DF's part. Failing to take responsibility for your own actions and instead seeking to blame somebody else, is just plain disingenuous.
Having said all that, I want to address a couple of specific points within this string of posts... I'd like to preface this by saying that I am very aware of my minimal trading experience, and I am using this site to learn from those of you with more of it. My posts are not designed to offend anybody, but to correct inaccuracies and stimulate debate from which we can ALL learn, even those who think school was out a long time ago, and to encourage a little humility from those with unchecked ego's... Shouldasold posted the following;
The stock tanked today because DF yelled clyp, I am dumping....He sold shares, I dumped mine as well and no telling how many others did the same .....And that is that. The makings of a perfectly good rally were gone....Look at the daily chart and his post time.....
Despite what may have been posted on the ALRY board, I would ask you to look at the DragonflyPicks Board and read it thoroughly please. The first mention of CLYP is at 10:17:03 post #2964, by me of all people... being new doesnt mean I am stupid, I'm suprised nobody else picked up on CLYP's activities before I did... maybe all that reading came in usefull after all... I have a list of MM's who are known as persistent diluters CLYP, VFIN, VERT and PERT to name but a few, if that list is incorrect, I'd appreciate somebody putting me right... So maybe I should be blamed for causing a cascading sell off?... No my level of experience doesnt warrant that kind of reaction, but DF's response to my post was perfectly reasoned, he took his stake out, and let the freebies ride, seems perfectly sensible to me... IF you decided to sell everything on that one statement, I question your judgement.
Subsequently Partenkirchen posted the following...
First of all; there is no dilution
I spoke with management in length today, last 504 was done TODAY. Ergo, we are looking at roughly 40 million O/S - That translates into a market cap of around $2.5 million. It will not take much to move this past 0.10 with current share structure.
Secondly, technical strength here is stellar. ALRY moved past the 50 day moving average, in an ascending triangle pattern that is extremely bullish.
Thirdly, revenues will suprise....take my word for it.
Lastly, Dragonfly needs to learn how to write English properly...LOL His posts are a mess, maybe there would be less confusion among his "followers" if he only improved his writing skills.
I would like to draw Partenkirchens attention to another post from the DragonflyPicks board, again by me on 2/27 @ 10:12, regarding dilution of ALRY;
Am I right in thinking that ALRY has been shorted to within an inch of its life during January?... the pink sheets web site shows short interest for Jan as 2,184 up 2773.68% on the prior month, they also show the Avg Daily Share volume as 231,925, which it was in Dec, but Jan was more like 500/600k.
Cheers, J.
This information is available to anybody who conducts DD and has a willingness to find it, or maybe you think Strategic Failure to Deliver (naked shorting) doesnt amount to dilution.
Finally, personal attacks of the type levelled by Partenkirchen are the domain of those who lack either the facts or ability to articulate them in order to make their point.
Thanks for taking the time to read this...
Cheers J.
Glad I stuck it out tonight, wifes a bit pissed... but I think she'll get used to it... I need some sleep... learnt a lot today. Thanks to all for your patience in answering my questions.
Cheers, J.
Rgr, little bit of consolidation followed by another push would be nice...
Yeah, guess I forgot about the paper.... ALRY climbing again...
Cheers, J.
looks like UTEK might not be all in yet after all...
Cheers, J.
F PERT trying to put the brakes on....
HESG is a beautiful thing....
Cheers, J.
Kudos on your HCPC pick guys, picked that up on this board before the markets opened this morning... I'll be back to read through your board more thorougly when I have a little more time...
Cheers, J.
Yes, Interesting, I see how the MM's known to be diluters and UTEK tie together now... thanks..
Cheers, J.
This is easier to read..
FYI, Short Interest for Feb for HESG...
Symbol HESG, Security Name HEALTH SCIENCES GR , Venue OTCBB/Pink Sheets, Month/Year 02/2007 , Short Interest 130,000, Percentage Change -1.46, Average Daily Share Volume 351,514, Days to Cover 1.00
Cheers, J.
Can I ask your opinion on the MM lineup on HESG right now? I think I'm right in thinking that PERT is another dilutor, but as you suggest, he's now on 0.03...
Cheers, J.
thought as much... tuck that experience away in the old memory bank...
Cheers, J.
...according to the list I have here, CLYP is a persistent dilutor, or is my list incorrect...?
Cheers, J.
HESG starting to stir...
wise move... looks like NITE and CLYP are tag teaming the ask on ALRY... beating it into submission....
Cheers, J.
Would somebody explain what B/S CLYP is playing at on ask at 0.66?
