FCB, congrats on being the only post in the last fifty to be deleted. SH
Bill, thanks for clarifying. SH
NG, just perused the website and noticed several differences. One important difference seems to be the lack of "white infra red" technology. Couldn't locate the price for the system. Do you know what they sell for? SH
Bill, if you know something would you please just post it?? Why are you being so cryptic. I'm not trying to be argumentative but these kind of posts bug me. SH
Print, could you please post the Email you got from viewsystems? Thanks. SH
Bill, I thought putting money into BB stocks WAS gambling. SH
My thoughts on a suit is that it's a waste of time. A law suit would bury this company and there will be nothing to recover. I saw a poster on "the other board" suggesting this while complaining that he should have listened to the shorts but was "mislead" by the longs. Whatever happened to to notion of personal responsibility?? The idea that someone made investment decisions based on anonymous postings on a bulletin board is LUDICROUS. SH
I said before that I was relieved to see a CFO FINALLY on board. This filing doesn't surprise me. We took a hit today but it rebounded a bit. The negative stuff is finally out and hopefully the news from now on will be accurate and positive. It is my belief that we are at the bottom and will now, with the new mgmt continue to improve and grow. One way or the other I believe we'll know soon. SH
Print, can't we have a discussion here without it going south??? If you REALLY want this board to be self policing you're going to have to try harder. I'm logging off now. I have some input here but I've got some things to attend to first so I'llpost it later. PLEASE BEHAVE. I really do dislike having to delete posts. Not a threat, just a statement. Be back in a bit. Regards, SH
Print, Alrighty then.
Regards, SH
No, Heath, as a matter of fact I did not run out and buy more stock as a result of this statement. I did buy more stock after the new management team came on board because I saw the company looking more "professional".
Please don't get me wrong. I LOVE Mr McBride's enthusiasm and vision. What alarms me is that he appears at times to be overly optimistic. Optimism is a wonderful quality, HOWEVER, I'd prefer a little more caution when making projections. We see the results on the market over and over again when projected earnings are not met. IMO, it is better to err on the side of caution. Then you can always come back and say WOW we did better than we thought we would. SH
<OT> Print, so why don't you be a leader here and be above all of that??? SH
<OT> Print, you know people would accept your posts if you weren't so condescending. Your "Big shots" comment and your signature "Happy Posting" coupled with your REALLY negative posts on "the other board" tend to be off-putting. SH
I too would like to see these kind of projections stopped. If it happens hooray for SEVU. Post it then. If it doesn't happen, it just puts more egg on SEVU's face. SH
Print, actually now that I have the "dump button" I've let posts by those negative about SEVU stay on the board that I would have begged to have been removed if I did not posess that power. I let them remain when I shouldn't have in order to prove to you and the other critics that I am maintaining my impartiality. SH
<OT> NG, I don't have to explain anything to you. What happens on other boards has nothing to do with this board. When you lie down with dogs, you come up with fleas. AND, BTW, your post today to FG was a duplicate and should be deleted. I'll leave it to Matt et al to decide what to do with it as I am not feeling very impartial right now when it comes to you. Can we get back on topic now. Most humbly, SH
So as I read it it says that the underlying securities must be registered... so who says that they are not registered. Please don't think of me as obtuse but I'm not getting your point. SH
Yeah, I noticed they were both posting at the same time!!!!!!!!!! SH
<OT> To BillBranum, just saw your post on "the other board". Thank you!!!!! SH
I can only speak for my own situation. We loaned the company money via the debentures in 1999. HOWEVER, the conversion to restricted shares occured in 2000. Therefor the sale would not have taken place in 1999. I know several other investors that also have gotten certs this way and all of those were also converted in 2000. Therefor there may not have been any certs issued at all in 1999. SH
I spoke with my broker this afternoon and according to him, it would be legal to issue the additional shares to the debenture holders as long as they were issued from the pool of shares that were already set aside for that purpose and not from the pool of shares that were to be freely traded. As I understood his definition of a PONZI scheme it would not apply, IMO, in this situation. SH
Yup, callous and ignorant, you've got me pegged. Isn't that what the SEVU bashers say the SEVU longs need to be when investing in SEVU? So tell me, ERUE'S posts #'s 6488, 6490 and 6491 were evasive and or disingenuous, hmmm. SH
ub, whose responses exactly.... ERUE's? I believe the posters that responded in a somewhat negative manner to Mr Branum were as a result of his suggesting that this was a "PONZI" scheme. Don't know what that is but I'm gonna find out. At any rate, and I don't know this as fact, I'm of the opinion that there was nothing "illegal" as the certificates were not in hand at the time SEVU decided to reduced the issuing price to $.50/share. Gonna call my broker and get his take on this. SH
ERUE, the debentures were offered at a rate of $.50 at the Jan meeting. Sometime not long after that they went up to $2.00 per share. It was my understanding at that time that that would be the final opportunity for purchasing the debentures. I just read on "the other board" that someone purchased debentures @ $4.00/share. Did not hear about that particular offering at the time and have not contacted the company to see if did indeed occur. It seems reasonable to me that the shares would be offered a lower than freely trading stocks were in that the debenture holders would have to hold for a year, actually longer than that by the time the certs were issued. Much higher risk to the investors plus having to pay for the legal opinion and a commission to the broker selling the shares etc. SH
I'll stop when you guys quit posting and making me crazy. Should be likened to Ghandi's hunger strikes. Let's hear the crowd roar...SeaHaggi..... SeaHaggii....SeaHaggiii.....iii..........SH
<OT>So Rich, did Morton have restricted shares in SEVU that you are blocking the sales of??? Come on fess up before the REAL TRUTH comes out??? You know that's the next logical step for the bashers to assert.
On a more serious note, Mort had felt that he had beaten this thing by having the surgery and then quitting smoking.... guess he was wrong. Funny that one of the things I had discussed with my my mother-in-law that she was more lucid on was her having quit smoking some twenty years ago. At any rate, I gave her something to keep her occupied. She's now on a mission to help me stop smoking. She's probably on her third recitation of the Rosary without having a clue as to why she's doing it. Hope God hears her. SH
<OT> Actually I've been gone for several hours and haven't deleted a thing. Have had a glass or two or three of vino while dealing with more pressing things like an eighty two year old mother-in-law in assisted living for Alzheimers. Spent the last three hours dealing with the fact that we lost fifteenK of her money in a couple of mutual funds. So, I've been busy trying to reassure the siblings that things will work out in the end and chatting with "the mother-in-law" just spending some time with her and finding some laughter to share with her in this most dreadful of all situations.
I've always found it to be a quaundary in the medical profession with terminal patients that they seem to prolong a patient's death. I suppose with all of the malpractice suits floating around, if they have to err it's in their best interest to err on the side of life. It's my opinion that people are living much longer than their bodies can be reasonably be expected to support them. Again, when considering the quality of life that those who are living beyond their "normal" life expectancy dictates...what "moral" responsibilty does the physician have to keep the body alive???
Sorry for the digression but that's what I've been dealing with this PM. We can further discuss this on EXHIB if anyone has any input. Thanks. SH
Golf, I agee. Bubble packaging does not seem appropriate for a $500.00 camera. Maybe the reasoning behind that choice is that the product can be viewed without the consumer opening up the box. This way the consumer can see how simple and well made the product is. I have a little experience in retail and a lot of products are "ruined" simply because the packaging is destroyed. This would certainly save the retailer from having to send the product back for repackaging. However, it does give the product a "cheaper" appearance. SH
I just checked out the new web design. VERY COOL!!!! Iron Mike's mug still there, too. I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, I'm not being critical of what they have done. BUT.... it would be a little better if they could demonstrate with the picture of the camera watching the baby that the product works in the dark. I don't know how this could be done as the picture of the camera in a darkened nursery monitoring the baby would be dark. A conundrum??? If I did not know that the camera "saw in the dark" I would think that the "camera in a light bulb" would necessitate the light bulb being on. I don't think anyone puts their baby to bed with a spot light on them, no matter HOW cute they are. SH
Claire, nice scoop on the PR. SH
NG, I really shouldn't prolong this conversation as I REALLY don't want to engage in a dialogue with you. No offense intended. HOWEVER, the manner in which your post is written is misleading, IMO. It reads as if the poster first said a new PR will be forthcoming and then proceeded to post the PR. We all know that is not is not how the events unfolded. I don't see what the issue is over someone posting a PR is due out as long as there was no hint of the contents. It could have been something awful like "The Board of directors, management and staff of... has packed up and was last seen sailing for the Caymens" or something like that.
P.S. You really shouldn't stay up so late. It's not good for your complection.
<OT> if anyone wishes to post my previous message (#3468) about the move to down town St Pete on the other board, you have my permission to do so for this and only this one post. SH
CM, they are still at TV now. The move will be completed by Friday. Much more secured office space. They did not want to release the information until the move was complete. I imagine that is because of security reasons. As of this morning they were still and still are now at TV. The phone number is still current. The number will be changed as it is in a different area of the county. They are moving to a professional building in an area of the city that is full of banks, brokers and attorneys. The bashers criticized SEVU for the office conditions that HQ was housed in at TV. Too small..wasn't, a little shabby in appearance, was. Now they are being criticized for moving to an upscale office bldg. I'm ASSUMING that all production is now being jobbed out, hence no longer a need for all the square footage they had at TV. Seems like a logical step up for the company. As long as SEVU is being threatened by those that want to see this company go under they will try to keep all information about what is happening with SEVU private until released in a PR. It's best not to let your enemies know what you are doing until you are ready for them to know. They are still in TV as of now. SH
Just got off the phone with SEVU, they're still at the Tierra Verde offices. SH
<OT> Hi Claire, thanks for the info. SH
I had heard some time ago that SEVU was planning on a move. I'll call in the AM. Does it matter?? If so, why??? SH
I'm hoping for a good birthday gift from SEVU on the 15th. Come on SEVU, don't let me down. To all the shorters, I hope the phrase "Beware the Ides of March" applies to your end of the deal and not the longs. SH
Thanks for all of the input folks. I've got a lot to digest over the next few days. I've been out playing today and have been away from the boards. Opening day for Largo's Ren Fest. Today was really slow, and consequently, the energy level was r e a l l y l o w. My son is taking his first Spring Break as a sophomore in college... I'm a little worried as he is in a remote village in Honduras. He and a group of students from Baldwin College in Berea, OH (that's your neck of the woods Dahlias) have traveled there to assist in rebuilding a community that was devestated by a hurricane that struck there several years ago. Of course, by the time these kids get their hammers unpacked, it will be time to come back to the States. I'm just praying that they get back safely. AHHHHH, to be nineteen again!!!!!!! SH
Bill, that was my experience with the debentures. I bought my first shares @ $1.00/share. They soon split after that. I wasn't following the stock prices too closely at that time but it was my understanding that the stock had split and we got the benefits of that split. After that time the next offering was at the shareholders meeting for $1.00/ share. We bought more then and bought more @ $2.00/ share after that. Hope this answers your question. SH
Ender, thanks. SH
Day, I'm curious as to why you think this Q is going to look good. What do you base this on? SH
