EDUC $9.90 -.10 Surprised it is not down more this morning. There was a very large sequential drop in their number of active consultants, plus it looks like they pulled their guidance for the year.

AEHR - Good point on the share count. When it takes $250k in earnings to net a penny in EPS, that makes it tough. In addition, there is this to add to the share count:
On September 17, 2021, AEHR Test Systems (the “Company”) entered into a sales agreement (the “Sales Agreement”) with Craig-Hallum Capital Group LLC (the “Agent”), in connection with the offer and sale of up to $25,000,000 of shares of the Company’s common stock, par value $0.01 per share (“ATM Shares”). The ATM Shares to be offered and sold under the Sales Agreement will be issued and sold pursuant to a registration statement on Form S-3 (File No. 333-259317), dated September 3, 2021 that became effective with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “Commission”) on September 17, 2021. A prospectus supplement relating to the offering of the ATM Shares was filed with the Commission on September 17, 2021 (the “Prospectus Supplement”).
Subject to the terms and conditions of the Sales Agreement, the Agent will use commercially reasonable efforts, consistent with its normal trading and sales practices and applicable state and federal law, rules and regulations and the rules of the Nasdaq Stock Market, LLC (“Nasdaq”), to sell ATM Shares from time to time based upon the Company’s instructions, including any price, time or size limits or other customary parameters or conditions the Company may impose.
The Company is not obligated to make any sales of ATM Shares, and Agent is not required to sell any specific number or dollar amount of shares of the ATM Shares under the Sales Agreement. The Company or the Agent may suspend or terminate the offering of ATM Shares upon notice to the other party and subject to other conditions.
Under the Sales Agreement, the Agent may sell ATM Shares by any method permitted by law deemed to be an “at the market offering” as defined in Rule 415 of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”), and the rules and regulations thereunder, including, without limitation, sales made directly on or through Nasdaq, on or through any other existing trading market for the Company’s shares of common stock or to or through a market maker. If expressly authorized by the Company, the Agent may also sell ATM Shares in privately negotiated transactions. The Company agreed to pay the Agent a commission up to 3.0% of the gross proceeds from the sales of ATM Shares pursuant to the Sales Agreement.
The Sales Agreement contains customary representations, warranties and agreements by the Company, customary conditions to closing, indemnification obligations of the Company and the Agent against certain liabilities, including for liabilities under the Securities Act, and termination provisions. The provisions of the Sales Agreement, including the representations and warranties contained therein, are not for the benefit of any party other than the parties to such agreement and are not intended as a document for investors and the public to obtain factual information about the current state of affairs of the Company. Rather, investors and the public should look to other disclosures contained in the Company’s filings with the Commission.
The foregoing description of the Sales Agreement is a summary of its material terms, does not purport to be complete, and is qualified in its entirety by reference to the Sales Agreement, a copy of which is filed as Exhibit 1.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
This Current Report on Form 8-K shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy the securities discussed herein, nor shall there be any sale of such securities in any state or jurisdiction in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of any such state or jurisdiction.
AEHR insiders unloading in a big way with both straight up selling and exercising options and then selling. Barrage of Form 4s filed after hours today. If things are going as well as they appear to be, you gotta wonder why this much selling.

M - Macy's upgraded to Buy from Hold at Gordon Haskett
TheFlyontheWall.com - Sep 28 07:35 EDT
Gordon Haskett analyst Chuck Grom upgraded Macy's to Buy from Hold with a price target of $33, up from $24, after having hosted a series of meetings with the senior management including the CEO, CFO and Head of Investor Relations. After refining his model for both Q3 and FY22 coming out of the meetings, he thinks Macy's shares "have more upside" of potentially 30% from current levels, Grom stated. Even after a bounce of the stock's lows, he thinks the case can be made at Macy's for favorable upward earnings revisions and valuation support as the company continues to execute, Grom added.

GURE $4.70 + .55, might interest some. Looks like they're guiding for a couple nice quarters. The detracting factor is that they are a China-based company with all the risks inherent therein.
Jtomm, I'm glad you're finding something of interest in this experiment. I really thought there would be more fireworks, but it's been about as exciting as investing in CDs so far.
I agree, it's funny how we see things happening in the market, and we form a strategy in our head that's bound to work! Unfortunately the strategy is usually never put to the test with real money.
I think it is a great time to try out different strategies now that we can make commission-free trades. I would think your experiment would have had much better results without having to pay commissions especially if you were making a lot of trades.

Mermelstein and Cliff, thankfully those days are long gone. I was just starting out back then as far as actively trading. I wasn't well-capitalized, and I was buying small amounts of stock. Looking back at those confirmations, those commissions were eating me alive.
When you buy a couple hundred shares at two bucks and the commission is $15 or $20 each way, your odds of a profitable trade go way down.
Those commission rates definitely made a buy and hold strategy much more appealing.
I wouldn't be averse to a small tax on stock sales akin to the current SEC fee. If you make it small enough that people don't really notice it, I don't see the harm.

Blast from the past. I was shredding a bunch of papers and came upon a confirmation from 1996 from Scottsdale Securities. Under their name, it reads, "Discount Broker". I bought 1000 shares of Metro Tel Corp at $1. The commission was $63. I wonder what a full-service broker would have charged???
It's a wonder anyone made money back then aside from the brokerage houses.

TMHC - Taylor Morrison 'a value play' as stock trails peers, Barron's says
TheFlyontheWall.com - Sep 04 08:25 EDT
Home-builder stocks are up 37% this year, reflecting dizzying demand, ultralow mortgage rates, and maddening construction delays, Daren Fonda writes in this week's edition of Barron's. If there's still a value play, it may be Taylor Morrison's own stock, the author argues, noting the stock is up just 10% this year and has gained less than half the 97% industry average over the past three years. Taylor trades around book value, compared with 1.8 times book for the industry. At a recent price of $28, it goes for 4.3 times estimated 2022 earnings, a 30% discount to peers, the publication adds.

Sitting at virtually breakeven here. What's interesting to me is that from the initial buy prices, there are 40 stocks down and 9 stocks up. That tells me that the trading methodology is working even though the percentage of current losers to gainers is a landslide in favor of the losers.
