The Vitamin Shoppe Asks Its Dietary Supplement Vendors to Submit Product Labels to National Institutes of Health Dietary Supplement Label Database

NORTH BERGEN, N.J., July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Vitamin Shoppe®, a leading health and wellness retailer, is at the forefront of product ingredient transparency for dietary supplements. The Vitamin Shoppe currently submits all labels for its proprietary dietary supplements to the Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD) created by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) (http://www.dsld.nlm.nih.gov/dsld/). By doing so, the Vitamin Shoppe is providing customers with important product information so that they can make an informed decision about their dietary supplement purchases.

The database is a collaborative project of the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) and National Library of Medicine (NLM) at NIH, with input from many federal stakeholders. The database contains the full label contents, including the Supplement Facts panel, directions for use, health-related claims and any cautions, from approximately 30,000 dietary supplement products marketed in the United States. The database allows consumers to compare and choose products based on criteria they view as important, such as ingredient, strength and product claims. Labels from 1,000 additional products are added each month.

The Vitamin Shoppe announced today that by end of 2015 the Company expects all of its dietary supplement vendors to submit their product labels to the DSLD and will request certification by the vendor that the label has been submitted to the DSLD.

Steve Mister, President and CEO of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, of which the Vitamin Shoppe is a member, commented on the announcement stating, "This action by the Vitamin Shoppe is representative of a company choosing to go above and beyond what is required by law to demonstrate its commitment to transparency and putting consumers first."

I've had same thoughts searching to see which retailer is owned by jewish or maybe they just recognize the Jewish holiday. Can't find anything yet.

Good Morning JFZ board hope everyone has a prosperous green Friday

I really don't think it is impossible to learn just a lot to learn and takes a lot of time. I never went to college either never really had a need for computers or internet but about 7 yrs ago I decided I needed to learn computers and I did all by myself. I can do anything I want now on a computer. So I say it is not impossible to learn new things it just takes time and some effort.

I'm don't know why they run but I have heard people say A/S doesn't matter I'm still in 2 from a yr ago with A/S at 10 bil so I shy away from High A/S. I say that is just some of my newbie mistakes lesson learned.

I would be careful on this one CG

This has been a blah kind of of day then after market close find out EGOH A/S been raised to 6Bil. hoping to get out even tomorrow.

How ironic is this I was doing a quick study on Gnpt I like what they do as far as recycling. I got a car for them a driver pulled out in front of me 2 weeks ago their ins wants to trash my car because it's a 98 model.

Question if I use just a basic chart from stockcharts.com what are the best technical overlays and technical indicators to add. I'm just looking for something simple already have ma50 and 200 maybe add parabolic sar and have rsi 14 and macd 12,26,9 maybe add chaikin money flow (cmf) anybody have something that would be better. I had one but couldn't figure out how to post it to ihub. Hopefully I haven't confused everyone too much. Had to edit I forgot chart has volume on it too. TIA

Congrats on those trades I would have been happy with 50% on any one of mine. Got a couple like Egoh not moving need to sell and move on.

Talking of watching I watched Cypw few days didn't like volume so went to Egoh and VIZC trying to flip. Guess what Cypw up 66 % today what luck.
