ProElite got back into the business of promoting fights in a big way with a card stacked with castoff talent just last night (Aug. 27, 2011) with its "Arlovski vs. Lopez" event from Honolulu, Hawaii.
The show was headlined by former UFC middleweight TUF guy Kendall Grove, who barely broke a sweat in picking up his first victory since his Octagon release over a hapless Joe Riggs.
Yes, that bout was the main event, despite the show being promoted as being headlined by Andrei Arlovski and Ray Lopez. Those two squared off in the co-main event instead, with "The Pit Bull" picking up a predictable technical knockout victory.
But it didn't come easy ... at all.
Finally, Reagan Penn made his mixed martial arts debut, living up to his name with a decidedly "Prodigy" like rear-naked choke victory in the very first round over Paul Gardiner.

"ProElite's first event since being reborn was last night and it was a pretty entertaining card full of action. Above: Kendall Grove vs Joe Riggs. After the jump: Andrei Arlovski vs Ray Lopez, the MMA debut of BJ Penn's little brother Regan Penn, and Fight of the Night Sara McMann vs Raquel Pa'aluhi."
These concepts of practical and standard Business seemed to be beyond some here! LOL! I find it a little distracting but anybody with a half a brain can figure it out! Damn I guess that's the challenge for some! LOL!
The FACT remain the company appear to be making substantial progress in Market penetration and more key Sales which continue to rise! Percentage operating costs appear to be going down while revenues go up! Sounds like good solid business fundamentals to me!
Oh and "1st 3 months of this year sales were 3.5 million, next 3 months were 3.8 million.................uh oh not looking like explosive growth anymore."
While the sales stats provided do appear to be correct lets put them into proper business context for the period of 6 months ending June 30th / 2011 from the EXACT same period only the year before that appears to represent a little less than 424% INCREASE in Sales.
For the period of 3 months ending June 30th / 2011 from the EXACT same period only the year before that appears to represent a little more than 812% INCREASE in Sales. I beg to differ on the whether that appears to be "explosive growth anymore" and I'm leaning towards a BIG YES! But that just me! LOL!
This company appears to doing something right and awful lot of it!

The article title has little to no basis although the rest of article is reasonably good! The fact that every real MMA Fan is going know about the UFC Fight is a given.
Every MMA Site has made note of the ProElite Event and Card although the actual time for alot may be a bit of an issue but again still much better than a time slot with a direct conflict the UFC Event which would make no sense at this point.
Everybody has to keep in mind at this point the UFC had been advertizing for months in advance using past show to advertize upcoming shows and we can expect ProElite to be very similar as they get more Events under their belts and the world does have to realize this is only the first one!
Let all wait and see how this looks and in year and more!
I think the UFC is and was a highly predictable Card based on location and target audience with very predictable results and to "hand"( Funny how it rhymes with CAN ) Anderson Silva another extremely predictable Win against against a Fighter who has went to Decisions 7 out of his last 10 fights over the last 4 years!
The ProElite Event and Card is highly geared towards the Local Event and Hardcore MMA Fans which is highly cost and impact effective, preferring Function over Flash!
Go ProElite!
Not Really! That is old Information and not really "NEWS" at all.
Same old, same old and to be honest it is really one persons "opinion" which also appears to be more of a half empty Point of View. You know what they say about opinions! LOL!
They are entitled to but again so are others and many of us have a very different respective with more complete information and base it on real NEWS but people are still always welcome to choose a negative perspective and also hang out in the selective past!
Personally I choose not too, along with the many!

Monster and Coors Light to Sponsor ProElite August 27 Hawaii Event
August 26, 2011
Just a couple of days before hosting their first MMA event since 2008, ProElite announced they have added Monster Energy and Coors Light as sponsors for Saturday’s event taking place in the Blaisdell Arena in Hawaii.
ProElite, Inc. (PELE.PK) today announces that Monster, Inc. and Coors Light have signed on as presenting sponsors for the Hawaii fight.
“Having two major companies as presenting sponsors of our first fight is a significant step forward with the newly rebranded ProElite,” commented Billy Kelly, President and COO of ProElite. “I’m excited at the prospect of future sponsor support for all our fights going forward.”
ProElite will host its pre-fight open press conference today at 2pm HST in the Kahili Room at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. The weigh-in, which is open to the public, will be held tomorrow at 2pm HST also in the Kahili Room.
Saturday’s fight will stream live on Sherdog.com from Neal S. Blaisdell Arena. Tickets are on sale at ticketmaster.com and at the arena box office.
NOTE: During the press conference, Stratus Media CEO Paul Feller stated in an interview with BJPenn.com that ProElite has been a wonderful acquisition. We have turned ProElite from being a “We have taken stock from $0.02 cent to $0.60 cents and still growing.” Link: PELE http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/pele
Payout Perspective:
Back in July when MMAPayout interviewed ProElite’s VP of Fight Operations T. Jay Thompson, he mentioned that they weren’t expecting any major sponsors for the August 27 event in Hawaii. One month later, Stratus Media and ProElite announce that Monster Energy Drink and Coors Light will be sponsoring the event. Needless to say that getting these type of sponsors for a show that won’t even be televised and is scheduled to stream on Sherdog.com after UFC 134 is over is pretty remarkable. It’s also a very good sign for the company.
Since Stratus Media officially took over the majority stake in ProElite earlier this year, it has always made it a point to state that they will be using their partnerships and connections within the entertainment and events industry to cross-promote and assist ProElite. Assisting ProElite in getting “big name” sponsors will put them in a position where they are one step closer to being TV ready, which they hope to accomplish by the second show. Regardless, building up their roster to accommodate the amount of shows targeted for 2012 will be an ongoing process and an uphill battle the group will face, but if this Saturday’s card is any indication, the great mix of known veterans, prospects, and regional draws is a proven formula to steer them on the right course

Mark Ellis: A New Breed of Wrestler
Published on August 27, 2011 by Phillip Hays · No Comments
Mark EllisHeavyweight Mark Ellis will make his anticipated MMA debut against Jake Heun at ProElite
In recent years, it has become the norm for standout college wrestlers to make their way from their studies to the cages of MMA. Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Rashad Evans, Josh Koscheck…the list goes on and on. Many have experienced considerable success. In fact, fighters such as Cain Velasquez, Matt Hughes, Brock Lesnar, and other current and former champions can claim wrestling as their true base combat sports discipline.
The next one in line could very well be Mark Ellis.
The 2009 NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion, Ellis went straight from college to the vaunted American Kickboxing Academy gym in San Jose, California. Many fight teams can boast a solid stable of wrestlers, but few have competitors the caliber of AKA, as Velasquez, Daniel Cormier, and Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal all call the gym home. Ellis has been working with all of them, and not just on his ground game.
“It’s been everything,” he says. “We have a real good schedule at AKA, so I’ve been working on everything. I’ve noticed that other wrestlers that have come into MMA don’t wrestle, but I still do. We do that at AKA. I have been focused on my striking, of course, but my wrestling has even gotten better. I’ve also been working on my jiu-jitsu, which has come pretty naturally. I think I’ve got a knack for it.”
While many wrestlers have garnered success in MMA, some have had difficulty with the transition. In amateur wrestling, getting dominant positioning is what it’s all about. There’s no striking. That can be a difficult nuance to pick up, strange as that may sound. But Ellis is confident that won’t be an issue with him.
“Now, I haven’t fought yet, so I haven’t really taken someone down and just beat on them as hard as I can,” he explains. “But everyone says I look really good in training. It’s going to be fun. You get the takedown, and you look for the submission or beat on them. I am ready to go.”
So, what sets Ellis apart from your fellow wrestlers that have entered MMA? “I say this as humbly as I can, but winning a national title…not everyone can do that,” he explains. “My style of wrestling translates well [to MMA]. And, there just aren’t many collegiate wrestlers in MMA that have won a national title. But the wrestlers that understand how to grind and work hard and push themselves, they are most likely going to be successful. And I feel that I’m part of that group.”
Ellis’ entry into MMA brings up a trending topic in MMA: more and more NCAA wrestlers are heading to MMA rather than trying for the Olympics. Why is that the case?
“I just think there’s an opportunity to make a substantial amount of money if you’re successful, and especially if you’re a heavyweight. You can make really good money,” states Ellis. “And, many wrestlers wrestle their whole lives, and they are looking for a new challenge. That’s the case with me. And I think I can be successful in MMA.”
This Saturday, Ellis will make his MMA debut against a fellow collegiate standout in Jake Heun. The 6’2” 225-pounder made his pro MMA debut earlier this year, earning a 2nd-round submission win. A former University of Hawaii football player, Heun is a solid athlete with developing skills…just like Ellis.
“I don’t know much about Heun. He’s a Division I athlete, though, so I imagine he’s big, strong, and athletic. I’m going to be ready for him.” With a rookie, you never know what you’re going to get. What should the Hawaiian fight fans expect out of Ellis this weekend?
“They’ll most likely see me with my hand raised at the end, he declares. “I’m hoping that it will be exciting, but the most important thing is that I get the victory. I need to get to 1-0, and then take it from there. But I plan to come out of the cage with my head held high.”

Short on money for the Flux Capacitor are we! Just asking! Now I understand the rush!
People who want the price to go up need to quit selling at way under valued prices and my only recommendation is buy due to the fact the price is so low if you feel it is and if not people all have the option to leave as well. Just my thoughts!
Just in case you didn't get my point which you seem to struggle with alot of concepts so I do understand. These people have taken company's new and old during tough times when the prices of those company's and stock were down as you have stated and brought them up! But I am quite willing to work with you on understanding these very difficult concepts you struggle with and that's just the kind of person I am! I want to help my follow posters even with these difficult things! LOL!

Strikeforce Challengers 18 – 71% comped tickets
MMA Junkie reports that Strikeforce Challengers 18 which took place August 18th drew 1,890 fans for a total gate of $53,670.
Via MMA Junkie:
Of the 1,890 total attendees, 1,341 tickets (71 percent) were issued complimentary. With 549 paid tickets, the gate produced a $97.76 average ticket price.
Payout Perspective:
The numbers are in line with July’s Strikeforce Challengers event although 18 outdrew 17 in attendance and gate. With the low number of paid attendance and high number of comps, I wonder if Zuffa ever decides to give out all of the tickets to ensure a packed house and find other ways to monetize the event. The move to Las Vegas reflects the fact that Zuffa is cutting down on the expenses of travel for this series.

Xyience Bankruptcy Filings Reveal Deep Ties to Zuffa
Bevanda Magica’: Xyience Bankruptcy Filings Reveal Deep Ties to Zuffa
Xyience has been a ubiquitous presence during the UFC breakout that began in 2005. Whether in the center of the Octagon, on fighter's trunks, in television commercials or on cans during post-fight interviews, the supplement maker was everywhere the UFC went.
In many ways, Xyience represented the financial promise of the MMA industry, with ties to some of the sport's top stars, including Chuck Liddell (Pictures) and Matt Hughes (Pictures), and shelf space in GNC and health food stores across the country. But even in a rapidly evolving industry, the company's fall from grace was sudden and dramatic.
In 2007, cracks begin to emerge with missed payments to sponsored fighters, constant turnover in corporate leadership, shareholder discontent and rumors of insolvency. The days of rumored seven-figure endorsement deals and prominent placement at UFC events were gone, replaced by digitally distorted logos on UFC replays and a move from the center of the mat to the Octagon post pad.
On Oct. 13, Xyience announced what appeared to be a fresh start. With Russell Pike, the company's notorious founder and convicted felon, out of the picture, Xyience simultaneously announced a three-year extension of its exclusive partnership with the UFC and a new $12 million funding effort.
"We believe that the combination of new financing and the extension of our UFC relationship firmly positions the company for success as we embark on a worldwide expansion of the Xyience and Xenergy brands," said then CEO Adam Frank at the time.
UFC President Dana White added, "Xyience has been a long-time sponsor of the UFC, and we look forward to our future endeavors together as both of our companies continue their explosive growth."
Optimism was short lived, though, as the embattled company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Jan. 18.
Bankruptcy filings obtained by Sherdog.com suggest a much deeper relationship between Xyience and Zuffa, parent company of the UFC, than merely a lucrative sponsorship agreement.
In fact, documents reveal that Xyience's third largest shareholder is closely tied to Zuffa and the UFC.
According to a shareholder list filed in court, 5,166,667 shares (7.9 percent of shares outstanding, which constitutes 10.1 percent of voting shares) of Xyience stock are issued to "Bevanda Magica (UFC)." An Italian phrase that translates to "magic drink," Bevanda Magica LLC is listed at 2960 W. Sahara Avenue Suite 200 in Las Vegas. The company was formed on May 17, 2007 with Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta listed as its managers. Zuffa's corporate headquarters, along with several subsidiaries, is variously listed in filings with the Nevada secretary of state's office as 2960 West Sahara Avenue Suite 200 or Suite 100.
Requests for comment from Zuffa LLC went unanswered.
Also named on the shareholder list are Zuffa Chief Financial Officer John Mulkey, who holds 50,000 shares of Xyience, and resident agent John Hertig, who holds 25,000.
The significant financial investment that UFC co-owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta made into Xyience, first reported last October in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, has also been confirmed by the bankruptcy filing. Xyience's single largest creditor is Zyen, a company controlled by Fertitta Enterprises that is listed at the same address as Bevanda Magica (UFC), according to filings with the Nevada secretary of state's office.
Zyen holds roughly $12.5 million in total claims against Xyience, including approximately $5.3 million in secured claims, which matches all of the company's physical assets. Last week Zyen was granted permission by the judge presiding over the bankruptcy proceeding to make an additional $1 million loan to Xyience.
Xyience's UFC sponsorship is reportedly worth $15 million in the first year, according to the Review-Journal. Zyen's loans to the company total $12.5 million. The filings reflect Zuffa Marketing LLC, a subsidiary of Zuffa, is still owed $3 million.
Requests for comment from Xyience President Omer Sattar on the Fertittas' and Zuffa's involvement in Xyience, as well as the identity of Bevanda Magica went unanswered.
Chapter 11 bankruptcy provides a company with protection from its creditors while it attempts to reorganize. When the company's debts exceed its assets, as is the case for Xyience, the proceedings often result in the company's creditors assuming ownership of the reorganized company.
Xyience has $42,342,831 in liabilities, including $27,319,517 in secured claims, compared to just $5,285,722 in assets, bankruptcy filings show. Accordingly, the Fertitta brothers could stand to become majority owners of the reorganized company.
Last week Sattar told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Xyience would have liquidated under Chapter 7 bankruptcy without the continued support of the Fertittas. "We're excited about the opportunity [to reorganize the company]," Sattar told the newspaper. "Xyience has a great brand name and has a strong affiliation with the UFC."
Xyience is currently involved in eight civil lawsuits and is subject to a pending involuntary bankruptcy filing by Russell Pike and other disgruntled shareholders, according to the bankruptcy filings. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported accusations of physical threats by Pike and his associates against the current management of the company.
A shareholder, who wished to remain anonymous, told Sherdog.com that Xyience's original owners (Pike and his associates) approached him and other investors to join a lawsuit against the Fertittas.
The shareholder has chosen to remain neutral in the dispute, but told Sherdog.com that "anyone who invested in Xyience by taking the necessary steps and due diligence should have understood from their PPM (private placement memorandum) that it was extremely high risk."
The filings also validate reports of Xyience's failure to honor endorsement agreements. According to the filings, Xyience owes Rich Franklin (Pictures) ($21,000), Anderson Silva ($11,666.66), Matt Serra (Pictures) ($36,000), Travis Lutter (Pictures) ($36,000) and Heath Herring (Pictures) ($8,000).
In November, Sherdog.com confirmed reports that Chuck Liddell (Pictures), Forrest Griffin (Pictures), Matt Hughes (Pictures) and Franklin had struggled collecting from the company. All four fighters were prominently featured in Xyience's multimillion-dollar marketing campaign, including a series of television commercials.

Good call of the Gloves! Interesting!! The Stratus logo is probably appearing for a few reasons including it's investment in ProElite and I think we can expect to see it as part of the Cross-Promotion among the different Events they are also involved in, hopefully we see ProElite in some of the Auto Racing, Car Shows and Film Festivals as well as other Events!
Agree Entirely!! So much for no Sponsors Planned for the first Event! To come with any Sponsors would have absolutely great but to come with huge Sponsors is Absolutely Fantastic!!!! Imagine what the next Event(s) will look like and how many more surprises are very close by for us and the rest of the world!!!

Andrei Arlovski will look to show the world that this 'Pit Bull' still has some bite
You can take the dog out of the fight, but you can't take the fight out of the dog.
On Saturday, Aug. 27 (2011), former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski will look to recapture some of his past glory at ProElite 1 as he faces Ray Lopez.
"The Pitbull" was once a force to be reckoned with. He became famous for his fearsome fanged mouth-guard as well as his knockout power.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Arlovski has lost his last four fights in a row. Three of the four ended with Arlovski unconscious on the canvas. Fans and critics have questioned his chin. No one wants to see a fighter seriously injured in the ring or cage.
Quite frankly, Arlovski's getting kind of sick of hearing about it.
During a recent press conference, Arlovski lashed out when asked about his recent string of knockout losses.
"Come on, let's be f---ing serious. I'm already sick of f---ing stupid questions about head injuries and a weak chin. It's f---ing bulls--- and honestly, it pisses me off. Who says? I don't know. I'm feeling great. I'm in good shape and everything's fine. Do I look like a f---ing retired person or something? I don't understand. Next question."
On Saturday night, Arlovski will have an opportunity to silence the critics and prove he can still fight. The flip-side of the coin is a dangerous one.
Arlovski's opponent, Lopez, currently holds a record of 5-2 as a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. Lopez has been training hard and feels he is up to the task.
"I've just been training literally nonstop. Eight to ten hours a day, sometimes from eight in the morning to nine at night. Going from here to other gyms. I sleep, wake up and do it again. Any place that will take me, I'll go. This is a very big step, so I have to make sure I'm ready."
Lopez will also be giving up a decent amount of size to Arlovski. That doesn't bother him.
"There's really no way for me to make up the size difference. I just have a lot of heavier people (to spar with) that come in at like 265, 285. He (Arlovski) likes keeping his distance. He doesn't like the in-close type thing. He likes to keep the arm distance, because that's where his power is, so, my gameplan is to stay tight to his body."

Are you serious! What do you base your assessment that the products are not and by the way the poster fully is entitled to their opinion but interestingly there are a tons of independent reviews that would also support that opinion! And by the way you talk you appear to the "quintessential" Basher since you have chosen to act the way you do Bashing him and many others with that there appears to be some sort of underlying motive, IMO of course.
As far your own on what you present as some sort of Scientific assessment to what do you owe this great wealth of knowledge that you feel your in a position to "Bash" the products and even more so another poster for that matter.
On top of it being a breach of TOU of this board and the site it is very much out of line to do so.
As far as the composition of the Products I would largely hope they are similar to other products that can show similar benefits but I would think the amounts of the actual composition might vary dependent on their own research in terms of benefit, actual composition of products and quality controls of the product, all which might appear to entice buyers to purchase this product over others as it appears this poster, myself as well as thousands others who have contributed to to increased sales and with that increase in revenues.
Go MSLP!
What would like me to mention! The FACT Revenues are up! The Fact that Revenues are up huge compared to last year and every year since being established! The FACT the Company continues to promote the Brand and it's Products at premier and key Events all over the World! The FACT the Company has endorsement Deals with a ton of the of the Biggest Stars in Sports today! The FACT the Endorsement Deals appear to be very clearly aligned with the Products they sell and the markets they want to sell into! The FACT the Company has one of the most respected Product Lines in the business and has expanded both distribution and again sales year after year in its young history. The FACT the Company is the final stages of negotiating a Deal with Walmart!
What else would you like me to mention and feel to mention any of the other positives you have mentioned at any point or I guess the real question is have you? Just asking! LOL! While I have strong holding, my hope is to increase it and the Stock price is reasonably priced with a huge potential upside in the not too distant future! Anybody in a rush shouldn't play the Pinks at all! And anybody looking for sure thing shouldn't play the market! Just my thoughts!
Go MSLP!
Agree all the way! I personally and I know many other have greatly appreciated your comments and insight as well!
I think there a number of people on this board who appear to have other clear motives defined by their comments which appear to be built around driving the price down while totally ignoring any good or positive information.
Their are many who genuinely believe in the Company, understand business the principals and the potential of the Stock and I still think those numbers although typically quieter are much much greater but nothing wrong with that.
This is a company making moves and substantial ones at that! Yes that comes at cost but that is the cost of doing business!
I struggle to understand anyone who thinks the company could be doing more as I have seen few companies in the Pinks doing this much.
I love the people who's only idea is OK let just spend less money! I cannot knock this company for lack of trying and I feel their moves are very strategical focusing on key parts and key players in key markets! It sound like a very good strategy to me!
This company appears to be going places and making the right moves doing it!
I also struggle to understand these people who think the company and stock are not where they want them to be yet continue to whine about it rather than moving on to a company and stock who they think suits them better!
This is an option we all have I personally have had stocks where this was the case I have chosen in those cases to move on where I felt those values and the direction of the company did not match my own opinions or interests. Anyone who feels this way should do exactly that and save us all from the ongoing whining about it.
I personally like the direction of the Company and can more than live with the current position of the Stock as I think there is huge opportunity on where it is today and where it will be in the future! I plan to be there as the company makes that transition in the not too distant future! IMO.
