Ramfan: Wow... you were right, Damar Hamlin took the opening kick-off in for a touchdown in todays game between the Bills & Patriots. Cardinals got smacked by the 49ers 38-13. Youch.
Cardinals used a 4th string quarterback and a lot of Rookies.
Thanks jasbg; I apologize, I do believe I could watch this using Kanopy (with ads). Of course it means loading Kanopy signing up, which I don't care to do. Because for some reason you get inundated with spam after you do it. I'll figure out something. maybe Youtube has it? I just don't want to pay for watching any movies.
TIA,
Nuke
Nope, thanks again, great stuff. date of the publication? Luca Ruffini is still working for Amarin I suppose?
Sorry jasbg; NADA on all 3 links. Only available in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
Wow, just google the Faroe Islands, what beautiful scenery. Cold, but beautiful. No trees. Lots of fishing I bet.
Thanks Sleven, Wow.... I started peeling the onion skins. There appears to be some really motivated, focused folks working for Amarin in Italy. Good find.
This beats reading the sports page. So many positions. You'd think this is a legitimate company or something? :D) Someone's been working hard to develop this talent.
Reassures my belief in the company.
Thanks,
Nuke
jasbg; I have Amazon Prime. I found the movie, but I'm unable to play it. It said movie is unavailable in my location. It will probably be a rent or buy when it does become available.
Is this title "Free" in your region? I'm going to check Netflix, as I'm on family share.
What I find most frustrating with Streaming TV especially here in the USA. The idea of cord cutting seemed to be a big fad about 1-2 years ago. This idea has vaporized into something really sleezy. When Streaming first came out it was "hot." Now, not so much. There's too much, too many subscription services offering the same things with their little twists. When you're finally able to get the programming you want, you're paying just as much as before with cable or satellite. Very frustrating as a consumer. Everybody wants your money.....
Would I pay $5 to watch my sports team play an ad free game....hmmmm? Surely not more.
TIA,
Nuke
Interesting analogy isn't it? If the people working for Karim Mikhail feel compelled to excel or not under his leadership? Of course a lot of times managers surround themselves with people who share the same values and goals. Those outside the "Circle" (Meet the Fokkers) find other employment.
This of course is outside the Upper management "Pleasers". I'm talking the front-line folks.
Ramfan; I've been pondering about what you said about coaching. We (AZ Cardinals) need a clipboard throwing, yelling, in your face coach. You act too mamby-pamby and players disrespect you. If nationalities have anything to do with coaching, then the temperaments of these coaches below attest to that. I understand genealogy isn't the only factor. It's also environment, parenting and the all knowing word "Kismet" that unmeasurable quality most good coaches have the ability to motivate players. A "mental toughness". A good team reflects a good coach. The word "team chemistry" not only applies to sports, but our workaday world. Think back over one's career and you'd be able to pick out the best boss's. Their the one's you'd work the hardest for, giving it the best you got.

Thanks Bouf, how much is it? Is it seasonal? In other words, can I sign up just for the season?
Invest; good to know, our notes seem to match pretty good. Today, I cleaned house, did some laundry, butchered the hog (just kidding).... :D)
No, I don't disagree with your assessment. Paxlovid seems to work, at first I was hesitant with all the hoopla with the vaccines, boosters, face mask theories, face shields, ect, then I decided to take the nurses advice and try Paxlovid.
Its the folks with the face masks and face shields with their dogs in the shopping carts that I'm utterly amazed with. And those driving their cars with face masks on. Really?
I'd gotten the Johnson & Jansen vaccine, that was enough for me, never had a reaction.
Here's hoping I made it through flu season once again. Thanks for the confirmation
Strange? I went through Yahoo portal and went to Profile. Clicked on Amarin Company Link how I normally do and the new page comes up, I'm unable to navigate anywhere?
jasbg; I do have Prime, thanks, I'll do that with the missus. She's a musician, so she'll like it.
I must admit, I'm feeling better. For a minute there I was thinking about "What if', having no living will, gotta work on that one this year. At least I can breath again (Albuterol). My energy level is up. Not sure if it was the Paxlovid or the Albuterol (inhaler). Two nights of sweats, last night (#3) not so much. 1st night I was drenched.
PAXLOVID (nirmatrelvir tablets, ritonavir tablets); 2 pinks (nirmatrelvir, 150 mg each) and 1 white (ritonavir, 1900 mg ea.), twice per day for 5 days. There's a whole data sheet included with my script.
According to the chemistry description: (an for those who wish to digress further)
nirmatrelviris a SARS-CoV-2 main protease(Mpro) inhibitor
ritonavir isan HIV-1 protease inhibitor and CYP3A inhibitor
Nirmatrelvir was found to to bind directly to the SARS-CoV-2 Mpro active site. Ritonavir being an HIV-1 protease inhibitor but is not active against SARS-CoV-2. So, Ritonavir is an enhancer for Nirmatrelvir, resulting in higher systemic concentrations and longer half-life for Nirmatrelvir. Ha ha (half-life), sounds like I swallowed a Proton Energy Pill (Roger Ramjet). Don't shoot me I'm only typing what's on the pamphlet. Sounds kind of like what Vascepa does for a statin.
Nirmatrelvir must put the SARS-COVID virus in a headlock, the Ritonavir applies the Submission hold, SARS-COVID virus has no option but to tap out..... :D)
Albuterol Sulfate (inhaler) is used to prevent and treat wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and coughing caused by lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of diseases that affect the lungs and airways).
The clinician (PA?) did say to stop taking my statin at least until my symptoms improve or after the 5 days. Only as a precautionary measure. She wasn't sure if the statin would have any adverse effects on the PAXLOVID or vice versa.
Rose; I live on 1-1/2 acres in beautiful Central AZ. Unusually cold for our region 33 F @ 10:00 AM. So, no problem with staying away from folks. I'm stocked up too....frozen pizzas, TV dinners, etc. all the luxuries. Going out to feed my ducks now. maybe pull out the rototiller and do some gardening prep.
I'm blessed.
Rose; I sincerely hope that Karim knocks it out of the Park. Will he be a Sammy Sosa or a Maury Wills on Tuesday? I'm hoping along with everyone, he sets the stage on fire, puts lighter fluid on his guitar and smashes it to pieces.
I'm still hanging in there with Vascepa. I think it's a wonderful medication, it just hasn't been accepted very well. It's time will come.
Here I sit at my computer on my 3rd day of self-quarantine (COVID), I hate it. I need to be outside working or doing something physical. That's why all the posts. I think I'll shut er down and go watch Oprah? Jerry Springer? WWF? QVC?
Micahel,
An 8K would be nice, don't know how detailed and revealing it would be? Like I said, prior history, the communication, the transparency? Does the past predict the future?
GLTA
Lrich, my hunch is Paul Yee doesn't know anymore than we do (IHUB) or any other chatroom.
Why? Because of the way Amarin has communicated important material issues in the past......Crickets.
With one product in their pipeline, they have to play things very close to their chest. They can't afford to get sideways with anyone. IDK, just my two cents.
I like your #2 or #3 theories better, but frankly Karim doesn't seem to be the type to provide even the slightest hints of settlement details. I'm guessing he'll talk about the settlement, just not talk it up. He's a salesman for sure just not a revealer of sorts. IDK we'll see on Tuesday.
I'm thinking the audience will want to hear more about the EU markets and the status there. Anything new with the combo pill perhaps? I remember it was about as year ago Karim did an interview with a young woman, nothing really came of that? "Don't ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies."
GLTU
No problem scxj, Alaska, so what time zone? I'm AZ MST we're 2 hours behind the East coast. Does Alaska observe daylight savings? I was thinking about Kevin O'Connell too for coach of the year. Huge turnaround season. Of course you have a good QB too in Kirk Cousins. The AZ Cardinals tried to get him as well.
Is it true what they say about Alaska? They grow 50 lb cabbages and 200 lb Pumpkins? This I gotta see. Maybe a summer cruise to Alaska is in order. :D)
Ha ha, good for you Ram, maybe your grandkids will make a soccer fan of you yet? Heck, you could even get a poster of Messi and put it in your man cave.
Soccer fans do get crazy though, especially Latin American fans. They kill the referees over bad calls. Heck, no violence there.
Wishing Damar Hamlin a speedy recovery. Heart trauma, Brain trauma is there a difference? Ever see the movie "Concussion" starring Will Smith?
Yeah, thanks ramfan. I've stopped watching football really, it's too commercialized for my tastes. 2 minutes of football, 1 minute of commercials between plays, it's annoying. I enjoy watching soccer more now because of the lack of commercials. I had Fubo TV, but then decided to drop it because Football was the only thing I cared to watch. I got local stations only for the news (snooze), but network news is like watching a soap opera.
I realize football is important for a lot of people, I just check the scores and keep track because it is important for a community to support it's sports teams. The violence is also not very attractive for me. Really, a player Damar Hamlin gets pummeled in the chest by another players helmet, goes into cardiac arrest and is probably going to be flipping burgers the rest of his life. This just put icing on the cake for me.
I'll still discuss sports with anybody, I'm just not a trivia guy. I want to stay healthy. Gladiator sports are not my thing.
Sleven, When I would commute to work, I had a van mate who sold CBD oil. It sounded like the new snake oil, good for both humans and animals. Anxiety, pain, neuralgia etc. He said it worked for his anxiety. CBD isn't cheap either. The THC has to be processed out. I've never used it myself.
My brothers use Cannabis, one is partially paralyzed, he can still get around but has to use a cane and drags a leg. My other brothers knees are shot (overweight). IDK maybe it's more of a fad than anything. I know a lot of folks use cannabis now. I started growing Cannabis in my garden this year. You harvest only the female plants and kill the male plants. One plant got to 7 ft tall, I got over a Kilo of cannabis from it. Made all my neighbors happy as clams.
It could be a Disney moment; "Dumbo with the Feather" idea. If you believe it will work it usually does.
With regards to Vascepa however, the numbers didn't lie (Cholesterol) when my TGs dropped substantially without a change in diet. Even when I wasn't taking a statin they dropped. The Herpes Simplex disappeared. The aches and pains were gone. I'm still able to get an erection (Big benny), without the little blue pill. :D)
I still can't believe how good Pete Carroll looks at 70....he must be on Vascepa too. He jumps around on the sidelines like a 30 year old. Or maybe he has a young good looking wife like I have. Got to keep up with the missus.
Remember the Red Green Show ; "If they don't find you attractive at least they'll find you handy."
Agreed, today's price exceeded my expectations as well. Finally got some life.
Az Cardinals may be in the hunt for another quarterback. Kyler Murray torn ACL, may not start next season. Derek Carr's (Raiders) name is being mentioned. JJ Watt also retired. Maybe a new Head Coach as Kliff Kingsbury hasn't lived up to expectations. Of course it's the NFL. In the old NFL coaches names like Lombardi, Shula, Landry, had jobs until they quit or retired. Today it's coaches like Reid, Belichick, Pete Carroll (70), Arians, that are the old guard now. The next generation? Who's going to stand out?
Active NFL coaches with the most wins:
Bill Belichick: 324 (293 regular season, 31 playoff)
Andy Reid: 254 (237 regular season, 19 playoff)
Pete Carroll: 166 (155 regular season, 11 playoff)
Mike Tomlin: 164 (156 regular season, 8 playoff)
Mike McCarthy: 157 (147 regular season, 10 playoff)
Sleven, you know I was just kidding about the bribes, right? We know that never happens.
So, one of the important aspects of Vascepa that I've experienced is; That it does help with inflammatory issues. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8961629/
I've personally experienced this in my clinical study of 1. Before getting on Vascepa;
I used to get Herpes simplex (Cold sores) annually particularly around the mouth area. Not anymore...
My knee due to a football injury used to hurt (no longer). As for other joint pain or arthritis conditions to speak of. I have none of the above. I'm 71.
Although not an inflammatory issue; My anxiety/panic attacks have diminished, although Cannabis helps as well. However, I only take a few puffs of weed about every two weeks.
My mother passed away with Dementia, so I'm her son, who inherit's her genes. My dad was fine, I was joking with him the day before he passed. Other than forgetting where I put stuff or why I went from one room to the next to get something (baffled). Nothing so far?
I need to research this excerpt from EISAI's blurb, unless someone more knowledgeable in chemistry/biology wants to step in?
"a humanized immunoglobulin gamma 1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody directed against aggregated soluble ("protofibril")* and insoluble forms of amyloid beta (Aß) for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD)."
Monoclonal antibody? https://www.cancer.org/treatment/treatments-and-side-effects/treatment-types/immunotherapy/monoclonal-antibodies.html
Aggregated soluble Protofibril? https://www.nature.com/articles/srep38187
amyloid beta...I think I can find out the definition to this one. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-017-06377-8#:~:text=Protofibrils%20of%20the%2042%20amino,the%20pathology%20of%20Alzheimer's%20disease.
Sounds like EISAI developed an antibody or vehicle for the antibody to attack amyloid plaques? Maybe Mother nature has already been there done that with EPA?
LEQEMBI sounds pretty safe, no restrictive side effects.
VASCEPA is cheaper by far, even paying full boat (without insurance or discounts) $1000 for 90 days. Of course the generics and their buddies will be chomping at the bit if BRAVE comes in strong.
Yes, imagine that! A lot of greenbacks must have been exchanged... :D)
Well, shut my mouth....
Pretty pricey; $26,500 per year, 100 mg/mL injection for intravenous use, administered every two weeks. What's not to like. If it works.... Yowza!!!

https://investor.amarincorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/amarin-present-41st-annual-jp-morgan-healthcare-conference
JonSnow; pure speculation and gut feel on my part. I've been wrong before. Keep in mind we're in a recession whether we think we are or not. I would think (IMHO) when Karim speaks next week and provides any kind of updates at the Healthcare Conference? perhaps, perhaps not? I think the markets, especially Tech markets are in a wait and see period.
What are the catalysts for Amarin to surprise us with? We know everything Michael Yee knows, cash burn, stabilized scripts, Mineral oil issue (dead), EU status (waiting for updates), HN settlement (details not made public), combo pill (?), Evaporate EPA updates from Doctors Nelson and Budoff. What else? BRAVE study (2024), Lawsuit against Hikma (?) Australia? China (don't hold your breath). Funny nobody's talked about South America, Africa, Middle East?
I don't disagree with you, there's a lot to digest. I think we're in a wait and see, might as well take some money off the table. I still have a few shares left :D)
Thanks North, years ago when I was trading with a broker, he said if a stock goes up on no news it's usually a good sell indication. IMHO, Michael Yee's upgrade is just such an opportunity, unless of course the JP Morgan San Francisco Healthcare Conference is going to provide anything new on the horizon.
Life is a crap shoot.
For more detail see scxj post # 397071 and or panton post # 397045
Thanks panton
You're a bigger idiot than I thought;
"Putins invasion of Ukraine and the cut off of a cheap gas supply forced economic hardship on the EU countries affecting among other things their ability to fund their healthcare systems."
It wasn't the placing of missiles in the Ukraine was it? You Kalifornia Kool-Aid Kids will believe anything the Liberal media publishes.
Joe didn't have to apply pressure on Western Europe for oil sanctions against Russia did he? Causing an energy crisis in the US and EU.
Let's keep the topic on the effects of Vascepa rather than blather on about topics that are out of our control or that you know little about.
We all know that Vascepa has proven itself over and over. That it's a proven CVD drug when combined in conjunction with a statin. To place so much Hope on other studies (Mitigate) is nonsense. This Cytokine storm theory might very well be, trying to prove that Vascepa is a preventative drug for this condition is subjective at best. I've been taking Vascepa all along and I've gotten Covid twice. Did Vascepa help with Covid inflammation? How would I know? Vascepa is not a cure-all like we all think it is. It is wonderful for lowering Cholesterol and getting heart attacks, there-in lies the value. Not in some political grandstanding.
Personally; I am looking forward to the Brave study results
Ha ha, I'm too cheap for that, I grow my own. I did buy a pretty cool gadget called the "Mighty"made by Storz & Bickel. Pricey but works really well.
I could make brownies I guess.
Thanks LB, I took two hits off the Albuterol (inhaler) and took my first dose of Paxlovid. I think the Albuterol helps a lot. I've had worse chest congestions before. I had Bronchitis when I was younger, most confuse Bronchitis with Croup. Bronchitis is the more serious condition. Either one is terrible, especially as a parent when your young child can't breath.
No smokin the strange stuff for a while until I get over this. :D)
Although I am craving a Pepperoni Pizza about now....maybe I'll re-primer the jeep?
Yeah, imagine that? Highly recommended by clinicians. 3 tablets twice a day for 5 days. Two pink ones and one white one. What a scam. Cheaper than Mucinex OTC however.
Just got out of the clinic. I was tested positive for Covid. They suggested I take an experimental drug called PAXLOVID. I asked if it was “free” :D) Gonna give it a try.
Hmmm, getting off the cruise ship on Tuesday, I started feeling nauseous, stuffy head, slight sore throat.
Yesterday things started getting worse. Went to get a COVID test (no results yet). Runny nose, tired, stuffy head. Last night was terrible... went to bed early, restless sweats. Woke up this morning with stuffed up nose and upper chest congestion. Scheduled an Immediate care visit this morning.
I've had one J&J shot in April 2021, no booster, no mask unless required by the places we visit.
I've been taking Vascepa normal 4 g dose.
Good luck to your parents.
I beg to differ. However, I can see your point, there's articles out there that support your point. All I can say is there's always under currents in the energy markets. deals done behind closed doors or on golf courses. Lets compare notes; I worked for an AZ Utility. California Utes had excess Renewables (Photovoltaic and Wind), so much so that they paid (my usta) both utilities in the Phoenix and region to take it the excess renewables. At least that's what my management presented to us during "All Hands" meetings. "It's complicated."
Look up a guy named Tom Styers (Billionaire) who is a proponent of Renewable Energy (California). He pushed a Proposition 127 (AZ elections 2020) that would have (if passed) required AZ utilities to increase their Renewables (Solar, wind) to 50% of baseload by 2030. There were dire consequences involved if this Proposition would have succeeded, loss of jobs for one.
https://www.energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/california-electricity-data/2021-total-system-electric-generation
I just got back from a trip to the Caribbean, Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire etc. On these islands (Aruba and Curacao being desert islands) and the other islands we visited, relied on Wind generation. They also use Desalination (Reverse osmosis) to supply each island with water. They pump and store (using gravity for pressure), as I saw quite a number of water storage (tank farms). Albeit electricity and water are very expensive there. So, it is feasible to produce water using renewables.
So, if my notes seem plausible, why wouldn't California build more Renewables if that's what they want? Heck, they shut down their Coal and Nukes except for Diablo Canyon. United Arab Emirates (UAE) are utilizing Nuclear Plants to desalinate ocean water. California has the whole Pacific Ocean to utilize? Keeps your hands off our water (Colorado). :D)
Let's end our discussion here, as I don't want the babies to start crying and whining.
Centene has a market share of 9.1% in the United States according to Google. I searched using largest health insurance companies in the USA
What California needs to do is use their excess Electricity to desalinate. Of course they’re so f__ked up in that state as they’d have the tree huggers suing the crap out of them for destroying the environment.
California gets some not most of their water from the Colorado River. Don’t forget Arizona and Nevada take water out of the Colorado too (a lot of water). By Congressional directives.
I’m back from vacation, doesn’t look like I missed a lot. The “closed” to the public settlement didn’t do much for the share price I see? With Amarin’s track record with court proceedings, you can’t blame them for putting this case behind them. Now unto bigger fish.
You're spot on ORBAPU, it was the donut hole effect. Apparently, I reached the $4200 retail limit for drug coverage for 2022. So, I ended up paying 25% of Retail price for Vascepa. At least now I won't need to get another script filled for almost 5 months as I got a new 90 day script today. It's a wash as my co-pay is $500, but I won't need to pay until nearly May 2023.
I probably could have waited to fill my script. Mail order for Vascepa should be around $70 for (3) 90 day refills according to my Humana Plan. If I'm reading it right.
My agent said the new Retail Gap has been raised to $4,660 for 2023.
Thanks for your help.
