I'd have to go back and look regarding Kosturos and who else might have been. Don't recall off the top of my head.
if I had to guess, I would say that Gropper was a bit surprised that he was left to sort of wither on the vine on the stand. he might've been disappointed in Eckstein.
yup. like a lemon drop :)
a tad sweet, a tad tangy and a good dollop of relaxation in a little glass...
Art, my new hero...before Parker came along, I am so fickle :)
Who are you thinking of?
an attorney could be asked to testify, but not about attorney/client privilege. just curious that BR has new team members who don't seem to be participating. at least the new EC team members all contribute!
still watching that group, to see what I can discern. tried asking but got nowhere.
the group of shareholders has been a great show of support and they are contributing to the process, as well.
lemon martini...thanks for asking :)
you know I'll be there! At this point, even though I have a few other cases I'm following...I'm too involved here...luckily, those hearings seem to get delayed, so that keeps my calendar clear.
there is strength in unity.
ummm...I hope not! let's find more constructive ways to express the anger.
I hope it pays off, too! For everyone.
back...a neck and back massage first!
all kidding aside, you all should congratulate yourselves...the collective presence of dedicated shareholders is thick in the courtroom and everyone there feels it...
not only is this case historical, but shareholders impact on this court will be such, as well. IMHO
not so much heard goodies as saw some interesting things...which I did tweet (so you might've seen them)
BR has two new attorneys at his table...I was wondering today whether one or both might be counsel for him...just in case...anyway, early this afternoon, one left. An hour later, BR left. Around 4 this afternoon, Eckstein left, but not before he and Gropper got into a bit of a heated discussion just outside the courtroom doors...
BR not happy, Eckstein not happy, JPMC counsel not happy...
LOL
Around 3:30 or so today I thought about shooting myself! I saw one attorney near me doodling on her legal pad :)
sorry guys...been long days in court, with more to come!
One sentence, eh?
In today's session, the EC quietly, determinedly and forcefully exposed two of four hedge funds attempting to control the "reorganization" of Wamu, to be the greedy and corrupt entities many shareholders believed them to be...
does that work?
not once Gropper is dismissed.
he did tell me yesterday he would not be in court today...
its just so very pat...we'll see. I think tomorrow will have good fireworks :)
LOL!!
Gropper was maybe the best prepped witness I've ever seen. Parker was great, IMHO, and got him uncomfortable, but Gropper managed consistently to wiggle out of inconsistencies. Aurelius used this weekend well, to prep him and try to make him bullet proof. But Parker is very skillful...we'll see what tomorrow brings. I hear it will be a good hearing tomorrow :)
I don't see her writing notes as much as I see her reading her monitor...possibly checking past testimony or looking at previous motions...I know her legal assistants are busy in her chambers though.
JMW was as intent listening today as I have seen her. I did notice some of the other attorneys paying close attention to Parker..he was quite commanding today.
yup. my thoughts exactly. in all of these high profile cases...no other confidentiality agreement was for 60 days, and you never erected ethical walls previously?? really?
really?
Well, Art will not be in tomorrow, but he did get an opportunity to hear firsthand where the IT case might be heading, and to gather some closing argument thoughts. Not sure when he's heading back to DE...but I suspect he's on vaca until closing.
he is not looking like a happy camper...of course, very few of the key players were looking too good today!
tomorrow should be a good day...Parker was just getting warmed up this afternoon when we were adjourned for the day!! yes, I have a sound proof room...hey, want to grab a cold one after work??
I'm thinking sound proof room built way after confie ended, supplier backdated invoice...to "prove" how serious they were about the "cone of silence" where's maxwell smart and the chief when you need them??
a late comment from an early participant :)
I was wondering the same thing today...they have dealt with numerous confidentiality agreements, that they take very seriously...and yet this has never been an issue...and it was so troubling that they spent over $100,000 soundproofing his office AFTER THE FACT??
We are either really stupid or time travel exist after all!
Parker was great...my new hero :)
more amused and amazed...surprised I suppose above all else...we shall see what happens today.
back to catching up and getting prepared!
thanks :) it was a much needed and very relaxing break! a we have the better part of the week in hearings.
GYS, onward and upward today!
I apologize to all for any unanswered comments...for the first time this summer, I took the weekend off to go to the beach :)
back in court later today...see you all then.
I am pretty sure we have some hedgies here and lawyers from all sides...
I suppose they all see the "goodies"...hence the suggestion to keep the "goodies" off the public board.
that's a great question! to some of the emails I forwarded, they told me there was real substance and that they appreciated the thinking behind those emails. I think they have a pretty tight game plan, and there are several very smart men representing us in court...so they don't miss much...
I think the time for public thanks to shareholders will be when all is said and done, and I would expect a statement from them along those lines.
hahahaha.
no. but I appreciate the vote!
My guess is they do post here, not just read.
:) and thanks!
I don't think so. I am not causing an uproar in the court. I am very professional and sit there quietly, minding my own business :)
(if you asked this before, I didn't see it)
it took me three times reading through...but I understand the analogy. yes, I think you're right.
Yes, today was Parker's first day to speak, but he has been in the courtroom, and I assume from him asking about next week and closing arguments, that he will be doing at least part of that. I believe he's in Seattle now, but you're right, his drawl sounds Texan. Quiet guy, I think.
Yes, Art is going to be there Monday. If I remember correctly, Wednesday and later was an issue for him.
I think you're right :(
they certainly have never seen a group of shareholders like this! for years, the bk game has been a shell game to spend down the estate long enough to ensure that the A<L. Well known. This group of tenacious shareholders has up ended that whole gig, and they are none too happy about it.
the truth is, he's very good at his job. he's on the wrong side, but many of them are in this case. and I really don't want to publicly smear anyone...just this whole thing is a bit humorous
