This is what I think about the sell off in the last hour (for what it's worth). I have noticed in the general stock market since the recession that the big buyers are ahead of the game. In other words, if a stock will reach an expected high one day before the earnings report, and it is in general a "dog", there will be a lot of sells 2 days before. Everyone expects the sell off ONE day before the report. So IMHO since everyone expects a run up in the "power hour" the big money will invest early in the day or at some alternate time. The chips will, of course, fall where they may. A study in human behavior at best, in my profession as a nurse, not finance.
I know that...a PPS figure?
OK you've got my attention...what is the HOD? lol
That's a really good answer uzual. You totally get it.
IMO they may not have signed a confidentiality agreement because they weren't yet represented by an attorney. Why would they with their new colleagues at the table?
I don't know if you saw Paulson testify about BAC. I watched a little and read about it. Personally I thought his testimony was lame. Nevertheless, it was Ken Lewis who went down. JMO but I think the individuals you mentioned think they are above all this...except maybe Sheila Bair.
That's what I'm trying to figure out jhdf. Does it mean that if an employee transfers their WaMu shares to the JPM 401 account that they are in the same position as we are....hoping to wake up some day and see our accounts majorly in the green because of some type of settlement, including the employees? This is better than any reality TV, I've watched. lol
If you look at the stock share swap for employees from a JPMorgan point of view, it doesn't make sense to me that they would ask their "new" employees to sell for the current PPS. Keep in mind they are positioning themselves as innocent and that all claims are "ridiculous", I think JD said. I wonder if employees have stock options or JPM is offering an exchange rate. There must be more to the story than I've read so far. I know they're "rat bastards" (my favorite expression I learned on this board)but from a Human Resources standpoint their proposal would cause havoc with 32,000 employees and more potential lawsuits. Does anyone have anymore detail regarding this employee share swap?
I think your points are extremely valid. My interpretation is that Weil may be in a conflict of interest position. The little I know about conflicts is that there doesn't have to actually be a conflict but only a perception of conflicted interest because of situations or relationships from present or past. A perception of conflict could hurt the attorneys position in a case. All seems to fit here. What is odd to me is that most firms tag clients, for lack of a better word, and no one can work with anyone suing that client. In other words, if there is a conflict, what difference would it make if another partner took the lead. Maybe that's only true in some cases. If you think about how far reaching JPM lawsuits are, probably almost impossible to cross paths with them over a period of time. Take care. DB
Thanks for your response, ETO. The older I get the more things that are apparently different end up being the same. My father in law is a millionaire because he worked at NBD which became Banc one followed by Chase and after that JPM. Maybe I missed one or two along the way. The point is that it appears to be all one and the same. This JP morgan brand seems to be sucking the life force out of a number of banks and other institutions. I read a number of posts and links reinforcing the same theme. At one level I think that's good if it enables me to make money. On the other hand, how sad. I don't think that's what the American way is all about...Such a deep commentary in response to your simple comment that who knows why JPM went up and WAMUQ went down in the last few hours of trading. When such a trading pattern happens these thoughts always cross my mind. GLTU!
Wow, aladin. thanks for ur response. Wish the recession was so good to me. GLTU.
OK. thanks. If nothing else good to get a substitute. Been waiting for days to say it but no one has...Oh Weil! a little sick humor
I gotta ask the obvious question....Who is Marcia Goldstein?
When I'm at work, I can only look at the other board and volumes & pps of different companies. Do you (or anyone else) know what happened in the last 2 hours or so of trade between JPM and WAMUQ? JPM was losing all day and WAMUQ gaining but all of a sudden things reversed. Probably a bunch of nothing. Maybe the bomb in Greece with no one hurt...clears the air?
Gandal, I think u r spot on in terms of "stupid little things highly paid attorneys like to argue" or something along those lines. The other side of the coin is they want to be sure they are not sued for covering all of there bases and making their point to the 900th degree. In any case, IMO an acknowledgement that "they got nothing."
Nice in FF. Can you provide a link or snapshot?
Knick if there is something I can do to help u and your family, let me know. I am a Pediatric nurse and can be a resource to u.
That was nice re JPM and the AIG deal. Since AIG owned by Gov why would they do business with them... given past history. Small condolences, anyway.
What's an AMG? I'm like a parrot, repeating what I hear from seemingly reliable sources.
We're back to the car thing...I need to say that my son is in auto mechanic school. BMW is the finest of fine engines.IDcare about these things but evidently BMW beats mercedes, lexus, and so on
Thanks for your message. I never see you on the fence about this stock, only about telling your wife. lol What I'm saying is that IMO when you are at that point, stock will be ABSOLUTELY a done deal. Just a small tell, is all I'm saying & I think we are almost there! Realtime looking for snow in ten years in SC as a sign. haha Good for him. You get the picture.
I was reading backwards from 2/1 and could see something no good was going on with MVBY. Bad habit from not reading the end of a book first, I guess. Doesn't matter anyway now. Game over. Not trying to to bring you into anything. My apologies.
Ricksy, I think it's time to tell ur wife about ur investment. When u do I will feel great about this stock! Comment u made earlier in week made me think u were still on the fence. OK I admit it is more of relevance to me than u...haha. take care.
All kind of updates by iamlegends, komando, and halbrooke. They appear to be carrying on a private conversation between themselves pumping the stock. I am hurting my own investment thru my comments potentially but I really dislike deceipt. I guess MVBY hasn't hit bottom yet which is pretty scarey IMO
With all due respect, maybe the owners should sell to Lia Sophia or some other home trunk organization.
This is not exactly what u would call an WaMu situation IMO
Cici, my friend, educate these kind people about manipulation.
Too bad. I was hopeful for a minute. Thanks for your response.
OK I know I'm talking to myself but Form G sounds like filing to purchase large number of shares by Toscafund for Washington Mutual. Don't get the g/a part. Would somebody kindly explain before I get excited for nothing? Enough of this car talk.

Great post Desperado. My sentiments exactly.
Cici doesn't bother me one bit. His posts are like a signal where the stock is or could be going. As someone said, he doesn't post when the stock is up. Push the ignore button is one option
Ok Fish. I get it. Buying opportunity would be good chance to average down. U r right about not having eggs in one basket. Have applied many tricks of the trade I learned on this board to other investments. Been a good experience, overall. GLTU
Aw c'mon Fish. The board has to pump u up as u are the ultimate long. No problem having a bad day but I believe life is good in WaMu land! After all, Dragynn is famous as of today on Fox news.I could care less about the PPS...it's the JUSTICE thing. GLTU
Cici, I believe u have a calculator attached to ur head. GLTU
AND the fact that Slaternation doesn't post everyday. Only when the "getting is good." JMO
Joyce at the top....Sheila Bair at the bottom IMHO....haha
IMO it's all those bond filings I read about today at work. Poor losers in response to the EC.
Haven't sorted through all my posts so it may be ahead...Did everyone recognize that our own Dragynn was listed in this Foxnews reference!!!! Go Dragynn!
Purely IMO but if the FDA says they have to do more studies, they would need more money for another xx months of research...hence the proposed dilution and extended turnaround time on profits for investors. For me, I'm gonna take the opportunity to average down. We have to be nearing bottom where people will jump in.
