Hi Art.
Quick answer but mostly the way it happens.
Mostly your number 1, last part.
Occasionally number 2, if I am going to have to be away for some time. Rarely overnight.
This is Friday. Often several scalp opportunities. I like to try "quickies" which are often suggested by my long time set of 5-minute indicators. Takes quick fingers. Firm policy: Do not take losses, or if no other way fightening a quick unexpected wrong move, get out. Rarely has to be more than 10% loss. Take it and go on.
Half way through the session, closed 5 scalps from 1.78 to 2.03. None open now.
Thanks for your question. Key simple ideas of how I do it.

mabbers hi again.
I'm tired to exhaustion. Concentrated day. Fridays can be.
I took time just now to guess how much better on exits were with my last three puts scalps. Guessing that two of them might have benefitted by queue watching by maybe a double from an earlier liquidation. No proof. There are no records of what I "might" have realized earlier. The third was a maybe so.
The one that really caught my eye was the very first one, TSLA calls. So long ago today. Anyway it came in near the top, not exactly in two pieces, 11X and the other was, what 9X?
Anyway, take a look at the 1 or 2 minute charts and guess what signals seemed to be shown at hesitations in the stock price advances which might have been convincing enough to sell the calls, taking profits much earlier, for nice doubles. Several days work was accomplished by passing on those. Queues observations? In my mind, without a doubt. I was fresh and determined. It aint easy.
Better than going a whole week without a nickel, as has happened on previous chemo weeks here.

Hey mabbers.
Your question about the queques is of interest to me. I cannot try to answer it this afternoon but promise to give it a go in the next few days.
What I "know" is only from my own observations of what seem to be tendencies is certain situations. I have never seen this subject discussed in books or on the internet. My statement today was about as certain as I get it There is a huge amount of work required. One cannot do even a few seconds of anything else. The continuing "train" of queues entries and a reasonable judgement of what clues they may give has been good enough for me to use to tie up my brain from all else for several consecutive, say, five or ten minutes (at most) periods. One trouble is that
"pros" throw in false signals (in my judgement) often enough to screw up any unsuspecting observer, and just as quickly delete that for another stab. Is this real, one can ask. All I say is that Roy's mind thinks so enough to look for good clues, particularly looking for places to not dismount too soon. How often do we see posts on our own board where ruefully it is admitted that too much was "left on the table". I'm telling you, if I get a double or triple and later find that I "could" have held for a ten spot, that's a reason for trying to find a better exit procedure. Can you believe that I recently saw a real 40X pass by in one of the stock options that are often traded on this board. Okay, they are rare. Useless to wait for the chance.
That doesn't keep me from working the crowd, so to speak to try to squeeze what I could out of NFLX puts, IWM puts, and TSLA puts. Pretty sure I did some good. I watched the ques when I could. That's all the "evidence" I can point to today.
