Thanks scubasteve.
What you say makes good sense and I have done both before, but neither of these would influence the short position report, would they?
I think I remember you suggesting in the past that institutions that buy large positions of PLUG would then short those shares. I'm wondering if there is a reason why that would be advantageous to them.
Hi scubasteve. Would you mind explaining how taking long and short positions at the same time would do anything except cancel each other out? I don't see the purpose of the concept.

I wonder if any of the 70 million shorts have taken notice.
There are no sellers when the buying demand picks up. The short sellers seem to have reached their limit of risk.
I think we might be at that short squeeze inflection point you have been predicting. Any good news will send us soaring!
As a wise man said many times: Giddyup PLUG!
Good morning peterpanwasjusthere,
Thanks for the thoughtful response to my post. I have also had a lot of educational expenditures during my many years of learning the markets.
I'm also bullish on PLUG and see them trying to establish themselves as the big gorilla in a new and disruptive industry. If they are successful, so will we be.
I don't have much to offer in the way of industry knowledge or capital market knowledge, so you won't see me chime in too often, but I do appreciate your, and others, constructive contributions to the knowledge regarding PLUG and it's future. Please keep us updated with your insights on the progress of PLUG stock as it moves toward becoming more stable in it's upward trajectory. Thanks again.
Hi peterpanwasjusthere. I appreciate your posts and am heartened by their optimism.
Your posts suggest a better than average understanding of the capital markets, the games the institutions play, and the process that is being played out as PLUG moves to, as you say, "getting close to a different phase with different market forces in play."
I wonder if you would be kind enough to give us a short outline of your experiences that led to this better understanding.
Also, would you be willing to provide a forecast of what you might expect to happen with PLUG stock as it moves into the different phase.
Thank you, and good luck to you.
There is a current theory that soon many conspiracy theories will be proven to be true. Time will tell.
Ha Ha Jack! If it wasn't for Ballard and Tesla, PLUG wouldn't even be in business. Right?
Seriously though, Plug is showing great strength in these trying times...all on its own.
I've decided to hold off accumulating any more PLUG until they are ready to pay us to take shares. Probably in a week or two.
That is a very valid point, Bdw. Thanks.
Your post prompted me to check out the analyst ratings for PLUG on e*trade. I see all of the following new recommendations listed since yesterday:
Colin Rusch Oppenheimer
Buy
03/06/20 $6.00
Eric Stine Craig-Hallum
Buy
03/06/20 $6.00
Christopher Van Horn B.Riley FBR
Buy
03/06/20 $6.00
Jonathan Dorsheimer Canaccord Genuity
Buy
03/05/20 $7.00
The $7.00 recommendation is the first one I've seen at $7.00.
The best indicator for it being time for on the road hydrogen is that PLUG is entering the market. Before this it would have been premature.
He sold me! Thanks for sharing. I had planned to sell at $15, but now I think I'll wait for $400.
I think you are correct. It's good to have a new product with a ready customer already waiting.
Nikola Motors is expected to deliver hydrogen trucks to Anhueser Busch in September. I wonder...
New short interest is out. 1.4 million share increase:
01/31/2020 56,341,724
01/15/2020 55,752,662
Holding pattern? I see 7 updays in a row with a move from 3.75 to 4.48 in that time. I'll take holding patterns like that anytime. :)
Inching up like it is, it's almost like somebody doesn't want to spook the shorts until we can see the whites of their eyes. :)
The article also says, "PLUG is due to report its Q4 earnings on Thursday." That can't be true, can it?
Does plug usually give some sort of pre-earnings report at these January business updates?
They float?
<<<How about what happens to pipelines if you add more than 20% hydrogen.?>>>
Lol, thanks, tikotiko. Being one to push my luck, I would normally follow up with a prediction of a rebound to the $3.70 range this week. However, the DOJ report expected Monday could affect the markets hugely. Time will tell.
Technical analysis is never a sure thing, but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the selling is about over, with maybe a drop to about $3.00.

If you view this chart, the 50 day moving average has provided support the last several dips. Also, the relative strength index is also at the point where support has occurred in the past.
We certainly don't want the closing price to break under these supports.
My question is, how much of a bounce PLUG will have when the selloff ends?
I wouldn't go short here. I think that would be crazy, California Bob.
JMO
They should net between $125 and $140 million, and I agree that we might be hearing about a significant buyout soon. To survive in a burgeoning industry you have to be bold when opportunities arise. Very exciting news today. I more than doubled my position.
Here's hoping some company has good news tomorrow. Maybe PLUG can go up again.
You know people have nothing to support their position when they chortle about daily movements.
I wonder which way PLUG will move the next time it changes by a dollar?
That's over a 4 million share jump in 15 days. Somebody either knows something bad (which I doubt), or somebody is desperately trying to keep the price down for some reason.
The question was asked, Jack, if Plug and Workhorse had a relationship. I posted a link to provide the answer.
PLUG POWER AND WORKHORSE PROVIDE FEDEX EXPRESS WITH FIRST PROGEN FUEL CELL-POWERED ELECTRIC DELIVERY VAN
https://www.ir.plugpower.com/Press-Releases/Press-Release-Details/2018/Plug-Power-and-Workhorse-Provide-FedEx-Express-With-First--ProGen-Fuel-Cell-Powered-Electric-Delivery-Van/default.aspx
If Workhorse is in talks with GM to buy a GM sized factory, and if Plug provides the power source for the vehicles they build, wouldn't this be blockbuster news for Plug?
Big jump in short interest.
3/29/2019...............40,183,183
4/15/2019...............45,182,712
I think this says a lot about the stalled momentum.
Miraculus,
Pleases show me where Andy, or any member of management, promised four mega deals this year. I think you may have misunderstood the four big announcements statement.
Did I mention this to you before?
Didn't Andy promise four big 'announcements'? Don't you think the new engine product line might qualify as one? $100 million increased operating capital might qualify as another, I think.
It sounds to me like PLUG is ready to claim a big chunk of market share.
I ask because, if these new revenues weren't already projected, there could be some very nice surprises this year...especially if PLUG was able to finally price their products profitably.
Is the revenue from these new engines already baked into this year's revenue forecasts?
There will up days and there will be down days, but one thing is for certain: This rally is real and there is strong accumulation happening.
I think it's because the institutions realize Plug Power is finally for real. It is successfully pioneering a new disruptive product that will continue to find new applications across many markets.
Don't sweat the down days.
From a technical point of view, PLUG has been straddling the 200 day moving average for a few days. If the market decides to break through it, we could see another nice jump.
I attribute today's action to Andy's recent Q & A session. The man is a maestro when it comes to handling investors!
Maybe Graves is doing what I did: Selling his shares and buying call options. At this point, I'm comfortable with an expiration date of 1/2020 for four times as many shares.
