I can't really afford shares of FCELB, but I have started to follow them and would consider one or two if I can.
They are only paper losses for now, not actual losses. They only become actual losses if FCEL goes bankrupt or I sell shares for less than my overall cost average. That says, I have learned a lot since I was 26 years old, done with graduate school, and starting to look toward the future.
There is zero chance I will ever play in the NBA.
Decision is supposed to come near the end of the calendar year. AMRN has indicated their decision on whether to partner with someone or GIA in Europe should be made by the end of Q3.
Look at the slideshow... it is shown in there, but it seems like they put it into "Restricted Cash" (maybe to use it to pay for the lease and other expenses) and thus chose not to book it as revenue. I don't know why, but if they had, revenues would have been over $32 million.
Revenue beat Zacks estimates by close to $6 million, so you are lying. Plus, if you read the report, there was a charge that impacted earnings by 2-cents/share.
Yes the results are very good... but I have been in this stock and following the company closely since 2001. In the past, it would have been reported as revenue. We have had some quarters in the past with over $50 million in revenue because of this type of sale being included. Maybe the new CEO has a different philosophy? But my guess is they didn’t actually get the cash in the bank until after the quarter had ended... that is when they historically count the revenue. When the money enters the bank, as opposed to when the sale becomes official.
Usually that is included in revenue... it could be that the contract was signed, but the cash wasn’t paid immediately and maybe come in this quarter? Hope it will be explained in the conference call.
Well, actually coming off a short week, I am personally disappointed with Vascepa's numbers this week. But now that they are going to be advertising again, I hope things pick up more each week.
As much as I want to agree, my interpretation of it was under this contract with this company, as they had exhausted basically all the shares possible under that contract. Now, hopefully we won't see a 8K with a new contract with anyone.
And what caused the lockdown? Massive heat wave? Credible terrorist threat? A blizzard? No, it was the pandemic. So, yes you SHOULD blame the economic issues on the pandemic, not the lockdown.
What are your "sources"? What are the "expectations" your "sources" are expecting to disappoint? EPS? Revenue? Margins? And in preparation for Friday, do you like your crow fried, grilled, or blackened?
Sorry... did not realize that. ?? Yes, I hope we all do... If I make big money, than that means everyone else did too! My cost average currently on the first shares I ever purchased is now $1590/share. There is not a decimal point missing. Thankfully, about 2/5 of the shares I now own I got for under $0.50/share.
Wish I could... but am finally down less than 50% over my investment that started on 2001.... that said, I do have a sell in for about 20% of my shares if this rally takes us to around $4.25. Then I would look for a drop and buyback some lower if it happens. I have never sold a share of FCEL...
I have been on this board close to a decade (and in this stock since 2001)... Hoghead and I are friends on Facebook now and chat about FCEL via the Messenger App frequently... I was just wondering if some news had come out, as I am at work.
How about Go FCEL Go instead!!! Wahoo!!! Anyone found anything causing this sudden jump?
That was the price when you factor in the 2 reverse splits. I have been in this stock since 2001... or about 18 years too soon. Guess I am ahead of my time? LOL
Well, I used to be more of a regular in my previous job, where it was okay to use the internet during lunch and breaks... but not at my new job. Plus with a family/child, I don't have the opportunity at night all that much. I bought my first shares of FCEL in 2001 (or about 18 years too early). I am just a small investor trying to build a bit of retirement... I wouldn't worry about the board getting quiet the last few hours of trading on a Friday, as everyone starts worrying more about the coming weekend.
My pleasure. While Barchart is good for a few things, accurate dates is not one... they simply base it on the date of the prior one and don't pay attention to official word from the companies.
This is what it says in my Schwab account regarding earnings:
"Second Quarter Earnings Announcement Expected: FCEL has confirmed that earnings will be announced Tuesday, the consensus earnings are -$0.07, with a high and low of -$0.06 and -$0.08, respectively. Expected Timing: Before market open"
Zacks is just a conglomerate of amateur investors and their ratings are based on what their members rate it. They aren't professional analysts.
LOL!!!
Never sold one share yet... dating back to my first purchase in 2001.... obviously gave thousands of shares back in the 2 reverse splits. But my overall cost average including everything at today’s prices is $5.66/share. So maybe I’ll actually be in the green again soon?
Looks like nice price action in premarket this morning!! I don’t know what the volume is though.
It almost never is... and certainly would not be in this case, IMHO.
Depends on who gets it... doesn't have to be issued publicly, could be sold privately to people that have a good amount of shares already.
While it was a solid day today, you are definitely giving people too much credit. LOL
Those are not shares that will be issued most likely... it is a standard defense by all small, publicly traded companies to help prevent a hostile takeover by a larger company that just slowly buys up all the shares. Having something like this IS in the best-interest of the common shareholder.
Yep... you are correct. This is standard.
I would expect them to be trading at the open at least, though.
I most certainly hope you are correct and I have the same dreams! If we reach $60/share, I am selling 2/3 of my shares just so I can diversify... otherwise, AMRN will be about 90+% of the value of my Roth IRA at $60/share.
But the rules are looser in the first 15 minutes... and there will be a lot of action one-way or the other when earnings are released, which will be pre-market. I do not anticipate a halt in any way for earnings that are released, unless the halt occurs pre-market initially.
Yes, I know what it is. Again, my point is, I have not heard of a stock halted due to a regular earnings release.
Yes, but my point is, most of that has to do with rumors... have you ever seen it happen because of an ACTUAL earnings release? Leaks/rumors are different from actual news... the company halts the stock for news pending during trading hours. But the circuit breaker halts don't happen that I am aware of due to an actual earnings release. That is the point I was making.
I believe the company usually requests a halt... but I have never heard of such for a general earnings release... only when there is major news. If earnings will be significantly than expected, they will often pre-announce. But again, I have never known of a stock halted for an earnings report. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened before though.
I have not.
I was too chicken to buy SIRI at $0.05 when it was facing bankruptcy. But I did get a few thousand shares at $0.36 right after the Liberty deal was reached... and sold them all at around $2.10. I was still young, and at that point, that was my best buy ever... and by the way, I was already a FCEL shareholder before I ever invested in SIRI.
From what I understand, Singer’s expertise and experience is in front of the Federal Apellate Court. He might not even take regular patent lawsuits... only the appeals of the decision and finds flaws in the initial rulings vs precedence or the law.
Well said! Couldn't agree with you more! Nobody expected this decision by Judge Du, especially the posters on this board. Had the decision gone the way everyone was expecting, everyone would still be talking about the brilliance of JT... and if it is overturned, it will return to the brilliance of JT and how inept Judge Du was in this particular case.
Nice press release this morning!! Its about time we heard something! Hope we move nicely as a result... we shall see!
