No, you're wrong.
There is no way they would ever market a low end phone with premium technology. If anything, they will kill aluminum on high end phone and make two models, an amorphous iphone 7 and a plastic iphone 7C
No way will this make it into the iPhone 6C. Apple isn't stupid!
Apple will NOT use Liquidmetal until they have to, period!
If i-devices get so thin that they need structural strength, then they will be forced to use a stronger alloy. This is when Liquidmetal will be used.
Think about the new MacBook Pro. It is so thin. Imagine an iPhone without a headphone jack. It will be so thin. Aluminum is not very strong. Liquidmetal is ridiculously strong. Apple will not give up their margins unless they are absolutely forced to. If they are forced to, they will make sure nobody can compete.
Imagine a Liquidmetal iPhone with Liquidmetal screws and a Liquidmetal collector plate in a Liquidmetal fuelcell!
This would save the planet while killing the competition.
Just answering my own question here.
Swatch uses ceramic and Liquidmetal to form a seamless bond. Maybe Apple is looking to do the same thing with phones, using a ceramic and Liquidmetal for the bezel or internals. This is actually a pretty neat idea. Apple may be building up to a fairly significant deal for us where we get massive press.
If LQMT goes bankrupt, aren't Steipp's shares also worth zero!
I voted "no" to everything with my 900,000+ shares.
Do any Liquidmetal patents involve the use of ceramic??
That is what most concerns me.
Gorgol voted yes with his 100 shares. LOL
That knife will have major puncture power. It won't slip, it's light weight (like Gorgol when he goes drinking with the girls), and it's sexy (like girls who don't go drinking with Tom Steipp or TimCook.
It will sell big to the military and hopefully they can market kitchen knifes as Military Grade"! LOL
Oonversation between Tom Steipp and Tim Cook circa August 2010.
Tim Cook: Tom, I will pay you $20 million for all the right to LQMT for Consumer Electronics for life. In exchange for that, Apple will do your research better than you and will patent the hell out of it. We may or may not use it in the future but I can promise you that if you talk about us anywhere, we won't use it!
In exchange for that, you will be paid a handsome salary and receive generous stock options. Just pretend you're busy!!!!
Tom Steipp: yes sir!!!! (Salutes)

Did everybody miss the fuel cell patent that came out today? It was for the entire fuel cell system, not just collector plates. I am truly under the belief that where there is smoke, there is fire.
If Apple truly wants to make a revolutionary device that runs for a month at a time, the Apple Watch and iPhone are ideal candidates. The form factor on the iMac and the new MacBook already shows the future of Apple. Things are goi g to be super thin and rigid. Apple will be forced to use amorphous alloys, period!
The time is quickly approaching.
How long after a patent is filed is it issued?
Watts,
and then there is me. I bought my first purchase at $0.70. Then bought a little bit more at $0.30. Then bought a lot at $0.12. Then bought a shitload at $0.05.
I have never sold and hope that LQMT has the strategy of buying time and trying to get some actual product made until Apple uses the tech. The reason Apple hasn't used it is that it isn't ready for mass use in the form factor they need. As the MacBook gets thinner and thinner, at some point, something is going to have to change.
We are getting closer and closer to that day. If this ever jumps, I'll be very wealthy. The good news is that I am done buying. I'm just holding for that hopeful day.
I was just making the point that if Apple can't technically use it because of the watch name, they will get to use it eventually because Swatch is about to feel the pain
If Swatch wants to use Liquidmetal in a smart watch, they will sign a cross licensing agreement with Apple.. They will be able to then use Liquidmetal in their luxury line of smart watches.
A smart watch is a computer you wear on your wrist
Apple has Swatch by the balls. Swatch can NOT use Liquidmetal in any smartwatch type device because then the "WATCH" argument goes out the window. All watches do is tell time.
If they put it into a watch that has health functions, it becomes a consumer electronic device. Apple is about to completely screw swatch on the mid level watch because people want tech that can do more.
Swatch will bend to Apple in two years, MAX
Furthermore,
I
Could
Actually see
Apple
Releasee
A Liquidmetal version
In limited editions
As a collectors item.
This is not an electronic device but a limited edition!
If Appleevwr announces an amorphous alloy formulation, we will easily have well over 3 machines running concurrently at full production
Once agai, Apple is the wildcard
I wonder what clever name they will give the Titanium watch made with zirconia.
The good news that came out of yesterday's event is the MacBook. It is now so thin that I don't believe they can make it any thinner without using a different material.
That is either really good news or it is news that will ultimately destroy us. Apple is under no obligation to use us. I wish Samsung would make a $1 billion offer and Liquidmetal would just break their contract with Apple.
Then I could dump it immediately
Sprayed with zirconia beads.
Could adding ceramic to titanium make it cheaper and stronger?
May 16, 2012, Mickey Drexler, CEO of J. Crew and Apple Board Member states in an article that designing a car was Steve Job's dream.
It is highly likely that Apple is way further along with this project than we know or think. Everyone is saying 2020 is when it will come out but I think it could happen sooner. it could be 2018 or 2019.
Nobody but Tim Cook, Jonny I've and Steve Zadesky knows how long this project has been developing!
I honestly felt very good about this call. He completely sidestepped my question regarding Apple and automobiles.
The fact that he answered it the way he did makes me think that he couldn't say anything to the contrary but that they will make money for an automobile. They are just buying time until they are able to make larger pieces.
It's like what Andrew Carnegie did for steel. He didn't invent it, but he perfected it!
I found it interesting how Tom danced around the question, will Liquidmetal make any revenue from Apple if Apple builds an automobile which is not CE.
He is NOT allowed to say ANYTHING.
Watts, If Apple ever buys Engel machines, it won't be Apple. It'll be Catcher Technologies or Foxconn.
He's a crook, liar and a thief. I absolutely hate crooks, liars and thieves. So let life take its natural course and make it ugly.
If this hits one dollar, I will buy a tiny condo. I have more than half a million shares.
Full4God,
Thanks for your honesty. Curious what you think the true potential is for this company now with the 2nd machine in order and one contract.
I just pray we grow this one contract at a time and that this can grow to $0.50 - $1 per share
Full4God and Watts,
I'm curious how many shares you each own. We've all been on this board for years. PM me if you don't want it in the public realm.
I'm curious as to how we will all do if this investment pans out in the long run. I still think we'll be waiting another year and a half before we see it public ally announced in an iPhone 7.
That said, even if Apple doesn't publicly say Liquidmetal, they will talk about their advanced manufacturing and Wall Street will connect the dots.
Other contracts should come in before Apple and hopefully give Ilya an ascending base from which to launch.
You have to be joking.
Apple is Samsung's biggest customer. Apple gets what it wants, PERIOD, for fear that Apple will stop using Samsung for anything and move everything to competitors.
Apple doesn't have to give them sheeet
The Samsung phone is dead on arrival.
The commercials don't say what you can do with it.
The FINALLY decided to use metal. who cares?
This phone is a threat to only Samsung. Once this falls flat on its face, Samsung may decide to follow Sony out of the mobile phone business.
New Apple MacBook hinge patent with but in cellular connectivity. Remember how Liquidmetal makes for good hinges!!!

According to the financial times, Stephen Zadesky has been traveling to Austria.. I'm guessing he has been visiting Engel
Where is ANAX???
I miss his blogs!!! Smart dude
Today on Twitter @jimcramer
Stated that "Jobs wanted to make cars that run on water"
He's saying that Steve Jobs wanted to make Hydrogen fuel cell cars! This is looking very good!!!
Watts,
Considering the agreement with LQMT is only for consumer electronics and not for automobiles, what would be the gain if Apple decides to pursue a vehicular fuel cell system to give Tesla "a run for their money"!!!
The bad news is this is years away.
The good news is this is not "consumer electronics". Apple would have to pay LQMT for this! :)
The Molding Blog has a new article up.
Title: Apple's Investment In Amorphous Metals, Carbon Composites Will Pay Off In Electric Car
Posted on February 14, 2015 by Doug Smock
Eberle and Rittmar von Helmolt stated in 2010 that challenges remain before fuel cell cars can become competitive with other technologies and cite the lack of an extensive hydrogen infrastructure in the U.S.:[66] In 2013, The New York Times stated that there are only 10 publicly accessible hydrogen filling stations in the U.S., eight of which are in Southern California.[67] The same year, however, Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 8, a bill to fund $20 million a year for 10 years to build up to 100 stations.[68] In May 2014 the California Energy Commission funded $46.6 million to build 28 stations.[69]
In 2014, Japan got its first commercial hydrogen fueling station, and 40 new stations are planned that country.[70] 50 are planned in Germany.[71]
If Apple is going to give Tesla a run for its money, would anybody think Apple is going to make a fuel cell car?
Imagine the possibilities!
