CEO - Made two moves for gas assets over the weekend. $1B for Chesapeake assets and in another deal agreed to take 2.6 million tons of liquefied natural gas from GDF Suez (probably around 1B mark).
Sounds like PRC are buying some cleaner energy. Not sure if they are going to liquefy Chesapeakes assets and move them to China or just reselling in US? Not clear from my reading of news report.

Interesting - still not had official confirmation but a Yahoo poster edndot's messaged on Sept 20th saying that MIPS has been added to Quantum fund[1]. A tweet from Navellier on Sept 24th confirms this happened.
Navellier Growth Quantum Growth Subs: Our new buy from last week $MIPS gained 14% this week, its first week on the Buy List. Find out more about this and our other stocks in today's Weekly Briefing: bit.ly/9Nx8ed [2]
He's done the same for LPH - so no positive proof but looking hopeful.

I believe FMCN had the contract previously and they lost it to CCME once they had to renew.
If you can pull out the bit you mean I don't mind listening again.

While CCME has the only contract from Ministry of transport there is no competition. Most bus companies are state owned and state owned companies do what the state wants which is "Use CCME to supply media for the buses". So, CCME will hoover them all up.
Basically, it's a way to control what media is played on Intercity/airport buses. For instance I'm guessing, there probably won't be any news items on the Nobel Peace Prize today.
I deplore monopolies (unless I can buy shares in them).

UTA - Comment on the CGS board was the auditors resigned. Probably not the best time for this to happen to UTA.
UTA - GKM actually resigned and wasn't actively replaced by management to receive "higher quality audit services", as it looks from the press release.
On September 29, 2010, we received a letter dated September 28, 2010 from our current independent registered public accounting firm, Goldman Kurland Mohidin, LLP (“GKM”), informing us that they had resigned as our independent registered public accounting firm effective with the commencement of business on September 27, 2010. No reason was given as to the cause for their resignation.

Lessons for China from Japan and America

(NT) - China is showing that it has learnt a lesson from the ruinous choices made by the world's other two biggest economies. Where Japan and then the US blundered, China is succeeding on the evidence to date.

I think we were talking about EPS not dividends.
Chinese companies have found ways of paying dividends - SIAF for instance. In the end PRC wants to stop currency converting into Yuan. I think they would be happy to see people moving out of Yuan. Anyway, as you say a young growing company isn't worrying about dividends at this time.

The only guide we have for 2011 is the make good targets - we know management can set the advertising rates as they wish so I don't believe they intend to miss on getting the free shares.
Net income
2010 $83.5M (as we know they look they will do $100M plus or minus)

September Presentation & Changes from April Presentation
Investment highlights – emphasises FY11 $14M Rev $6M Net (old pres no FY11 estimate)
Increase Sales of KuTai from 10M to 12M
Expected Sales of YiTai down to $2M from $4M
Commercial 2 – Pipeline 5
Four Marketed Products and five major new products in pipeline (prev 6 - diapeptide has been removed)
High Margin Business Model up from >65% to >70%
EPS for 2011 added (excluding non-cash charges) 0.52 2012 $0.70
My comment
Disappointing to see YiTai estimates down but not shocked as any new drug takes time to be accepted.
KuTai from $10M to $12 M seems plausible since that PR suggesting distributors wanted $10M
Ahem, somewhat convenient to keep total revenue estimates the same .
Nothing unusual in some pipeline products disappearing
Nice to see EPS rather than net income.
Not been following company long so any comment from long-timer welcome.

Anyone else noticed that the first trade for BSPM is always down. What's that about? Subsequent trades take it back up. Strange pattern.
rich
This is my process:
From 10-Q and 10-K
Gujiao Facility
Q3 29
Q4 45 (calculated)
Total 74
So they are doing around $44M in Q4 at the new facility.
Old Facility 269M
New Facility 74M
FY10 343M
Old Facility FY10E 269M
New Facility FY11E 231M
FY11 500M
So, 231M /4 = 58M or 29% rise of Q4 2010.
However, the likelihood is the old facility makes more in 2011 than 2010 - suggesting lower rampup?
Anyway, they are getting less from the new facility than the old. I expect the new facility should be able to do, assuming capacity relates to revenue (big if), 269 /50 * 70= 377M which is 95 M per quarter.
So at the least 30% rise from FY11 estimates but could be 100% rise from Q4 2010 if they hit the same revenue per unit capacity as at old plant.
Good question for the conference call!
rich
They are not near their capacity at the moment, today, if they hit their guidance for FY11 I suspect they will be nearer capacity.
LPH did 213M in H1 2010 - of which 139M at the old facility and 74M at the new Gujiao facility. On the face of it there is still ramping up going to happen this year. We should expect, given time, to do as least as much as the old facility as probably more given extra capacity in Sept 2011.
(2) In January 2010, we commenced operations at our Gujiao facility, which generated approximately $74,000 in revenues during the first six months of operations. [1]

Why no interest rate in Hong Kong?
Basically, if I understand it, the banks can't do anything with the money kept in Hong Kong - so don't offer any interest rate. Compare this situation with the mainland where there's lots of loaning they can do.
This is changing a bit as Mc Donalds, for instance, are now issuing Yuan bonds - but if a short argument is "why are you not getting interest in Hong Kong accounts" then this is the answer.
Money in Hong Kong can't be shoved back into the mainland without officialdom being involved either. Though once again this is in flux as China moves towards more currency flexibility.

Hi Magma,
Other thing that's interesting, assuming memory correct, was the company supplying the programs were doing it for free. Think that was agreed again. Don't know if CCME have a relationship to the company supplying the programming (Think company in Fujian province supplying entire network)? But it's a sweet deal.
Entertainment programming is so generic and cheap to make though so not a massive surprise.
rich
Well, there wasn't any competition really. CCME have been anointed by the ministry of transport, or is that the Ministry of Plenty one forgets, to be the media company of choice for the buses.
Once Bus companies knew there was a supplier of choice then, since they are State Sponsored Enterprises (SSE) they do what the state tells them, and signs up with CCME.
China likes to know what media is being shown and by whom - for instance they are unifying the cable and radio channels under one national cable company. Chinese Government, on the face of it, seem happy to create media monopolies.

DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER (hmm, but just not yet)
Being a bit cynical here but another way of looking at it might be that the shorts are holding CCME to ransom until the cash machine turns into a dividend machine and ride that as well - this benefits everyone except, I guess, the growing company who wants to use the cash for other purposes (though as often as not the shareholders would prefer a dividend rather than expanding into a less profitable business).
Shorts might even think it's legitimate but the question is really can we make them capitulate and pay a dividend?
rich
Cool - so why were they so confident they could get it down? Is this basically "we dare you to show the cash"?
