re freestockcharts.com: When I was setting up Glory Trades, I wanted to see what charts I could use on my local library's computer, in case my own computer went down. Can't download QT onto a library computer , so I tried freestockcharts.com. I really didn't like them. For one thing, their CCI indicator seemed to be all wrong -- it didn't match what I got on my QT charts at home. I also just didn't feel they had the flexibility of QT, and I love my QT paintbars. So I got a laptop to use if my home desk top computer went down.
If I were running Glory Trades and BOTH my laptop and desk top went down, I could still use the library in a pinch, . . . but I wouldn't want to use freestockcharts.com all the time. I've been with QT so long, I just love them. They have great customer service too. They just gave me a free registration because their registration server is all screwed up and my payment wouldn't go through. (hint hint)

re: QT. it's hard to understand from their homepage what they mean by "free".
Free PREMIUM QT (20 days intraday) with TDA (10k minimum opening deposit last time I looked, to get free QT).
Free QT (2 days intraday) as long as you use a PAID data source, such as IQFeed, that isn't also a broker, like IB . . . .
PAID QT (10 days intraday) using any data source or broker that is supported by QT.
So, yes, QT "Supports" several brokers, such as IB, but that just means you can get QT with integrated trading for IB etc, as long as you PAY for QT. It's not free to use with any broker other than TDA.
re: IWM/RUT, yes, when you feel comfortable trading 1000 shares of IWM, you can move into the futures, which have a lot of tax advantages.

I think the way it works now is that you cannot get free QT intraday using a broker other than TDA for the data feed. You can get free daily charts (6 months history) using Yahoo or Big charts as the data source, or you can get free QT for intraday, but only if you use either TDA (20 days intraday) or a paid data source like IQFeed, MarketFeed, Money.net etc (and then you only get 2 days intraday with the free QT).
But 2 days intra day is not enough data for some indicators on a 60 min chart; there just isn't enough back data to fill in.
One (1) RUT contract is basically equivalent to trading 1000 shares of IWM. When you are ready for that, you are ready for RUT futures.

Duma, please see PM.
Nocona and I developed and discussed our trading techniques publicly via this board, several years ago. The posts are all there for anyone to read just by using the "seach" function.
Back then, I had listed all the key NERS posts in the iBox, but the iBox has been changed. I didn't have a record for myself of the post numbers, or I would give them to you.

Hi Pop. Great to hear from you. I am fine. My 81 year old mother lives me with me now: she needs some help but in general has more energy than I do! (I am not sure that is a good thing. )
I took a long break from trading, but am getting more involved again. Miss it too much.
Well, your lady sounds like my Mom! Only we don't have horses here in the 'burbs of NJ. One good thing -- I am a 1 hour train ride from civilization (NYC) and I spend alot of time there. (I suppose you wouldn't agree about the 'civilization' part.)
Yeah, secrets. LOL. We exchanged some good ideas, no? And I still like the 60 min CCI in conjuction with some other things.
My best to you and your lady. Hope she heals well.
Don't be a stranger.

thanks, glad to be easing back into a more active role on the boards.

Well, speaking of the devil. Hi Pop!
Hi Duma. I was using 60 min and daily charts, but my 60 min charts were nothing like yours. I was using a special volume based indicator that was from a paid subscription. In any event, the CCI and other indicators on the 60 min chart are often just as good.
I plan to ease into getting involved with the discussion boards again. Sure do miss the old days with Nocona and NERS. NERS still works well as long as you don't trade against extreme sentiment (very strong or very weak).
Anyway, nice going with your trades. I have been reading a bit here and there, catching up.
And thanks for the welcome.

Small caps were always my favorite for trading. Large swings keep one from getting bored!
Sorry I've been MIA. I closed Glory Trades. I can restart it when/if I am sure I will have the time to devote to it that subscribers deserve.
"The FOMC meets Tuesday and the flat core CPI will be a focus as will the drop in inflation expectations one year out (notwithstanding the unch level 5 yrs out) in the UoM data. One thing they should but may not focus too much on are commodity prices. As of last night’s close, the CRB Raw Industrials sub index of 22 commodities that are “either raw materials or products close to the initial production stage” broke out to the highest level since May ’08 and at 517.3, is just 8.5 pts from a record high reached the same month. Included in the index are metals, textiles/fibers, livestock and products, fats/oils, foodstuffs and other raw industrials. A company’s costs are more than just commodities of course as labor is a majority of them but margin pressure can still occur if prices can’t be passed on. Thus, whether businesses feel the impact or consumers do, inflation pressures are clearly evident to those looking at market signals."

will try to get some others sometime . . .

HI Magon, when I short, I will use the inverse ETFs.

Here's one source that has intra-day numbers on market breadth, though you have to manually update it.
http://finance.yahoo.com/marketupdate Look on the left side for market statistics for advancing and declining issues and volume.
Right now its showing Friday ended at 10:1 Up volume to down volume. Close to that for A/D issues. That's pretty bullish. But now we need follow through.
I like A/D Issues ratio to be above 1.2 for a bullish bias, and below .8 for a bearish bias. 1 is neutral (same number of stocks going up as down). Over 2 is very bullish and under .5 is very bearish. Really extreme days tend to close on the highs (like Friday) or lows.
My broker used to have A/D intraday that I could feed into my charts, but their A/D has been down for a while, so I have to approximate the ratio by using yahoo finance. Just glance at it and you can tell we are having an extreme day that shold not be traded against.
Hi Pop!!
I decided to make it free for a while . . . so you are correct.
gloe
cool
thanks murray.
g
I don't know how it works. YOu should read the info at C2 or e-mail them. I don't think you have to include a stop. But I think that if I put in a stop, then it will be put in your account, too.
Nocona, anyone can trade futures with it. If I trade QLD, they can trade NQ. If I trade IWM, they can trade TF. Doesn't make any difference. I am just not daytrading anymore. Too intense.
I'm all for that! and thanks!
g
Now that I have subscribers, I cannot discuss trades publicly until they have been closed for a week.
I will do weekly market reviews on my public blog: http://www.glorytrades.blogspot.com/
No problem. You have a right to know that I can protect your money.
g
Thanks, and good luck to us all.
P.S. Hey, what's LUCK got to do with it?
Thanks, and to answer your question:
Well . . . I WILL post the signals on the private forum at C2 and "broadcast" them using C2's alert system. If I am alive and well enough to be watching the charts to see the signals, then I will post and "broadcast" them.
If I am deathly sick or in the hospital, and have no access to a computer, I will have my helper post and "broadcast" to members that I am unavailable and they should close all currently open trades if they feel they cannot manage the trade themselves. But usually, we will have stops and will move the stops as the trades move in our favor, so there shouldn't be any problems if I am unavailable with no computer access for a short period of time.
I have back-up computers at home, as well as 2 libraries with computers and high-speed internet access -- each 1/2 to 1 mile away -- should both my desk top and laptop fail me at the same time.
Also, when we first enter a trade, I will suggest a stop loss, and I believe C2 now has as part of their system, an optional stop loss and target that members can choose. So no one will be left hanging with a trade going very far against them. Won't happen. I posted a few days ago that I was buying IWM and where my stop would be. That's the way I trade. I don't hold trades very long that don't do what I expected them to do. "Get out and reassess" is more my style.
I have not advertised this system as an "always in" system. We will have periods of time in cash. So, if we are between trades, in cash, and I am unavailable to post a new trade signal, well . . . I reserve the right to skip trades and/or take a few days off once in a while. Is that OK?
I looked at some very popular systems at C2, and some of the better ones are NOT "always in." They skip days and even weeks between trades, and charge plenty.
Thanks but I'll stick with the well known ETFs. But I do look at individual stocks.
thanks
Thanks GLENO! I will be posting a chart or two on weekends at the Blog. Just posted one, just before my new business announcement!

Well my friends, I finally did it:
http://www.glorytrades.collective2.com/
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=18208
Some people had been bugging me for a long time to set up a service, and now it is done.
I'd like to ask all my old friends on this board who MIGHT be interested in my system (no obligation at all, no spamming) to sign up for e-mail notification at my Blog, http://www.glorytrades.blogspot.com/ (on the left side) so I can notify you when I have my private web site set up.
I will also post week-end reviews at the blog, like I used to, without revealing current open trades or pending trade alerts, as that would not be fair to subscribers.
I am only taking members through C2 right now, and only a very limited number. I want to concentrate on trading and learning the C2 features before I let alot of people join.
Thanks all!

Well, Nocona, you wanted me to start a service! But I stopped daytrading, and now have a nice swing-trading system going. I still use 60 min charts to give me a heads-up on the possibiolity of a new signal on the daily charts.
I hope you and yours are well. And best of luck to Skylee.
