Hi Don & Mike. . .
You are both, correct. It just appears that there are a couple of people that have "clearly" been assaulting HRCT over the past couple of weeks. It is certainly an operation (probably illegal) of some nature. Well. . .just be glad there are some investors that counter the crooks. I agree with you, however. . .time is better spent on more constructive things. Lets hope for a good 10Q!

Headwaters Reports Third Quarter Results
DRAPER, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2001--Headwaters Inc.
-- Diluted Earnings per Share of $.20
-- Nine Months Diluted Earnings per Share of $.61
-- Annual Diluted Earnings Per Share to Exceed $.75 Target for
Fiscal 2001
-- Year-to-Date Operating Costs Decrease Compared to 2000
Headwaters Inc. (Nasdaq: HDWR) Thursday announced results for the quarter ended June 30, 2001.
Kirk A. Benson, chief executive officer, stated: "We are pleased to announce our third quarter results and report diluted earnings per share of $.20 for the period. Year-to-date diluted earnings per share now totals $.61 and as previously announced, we expect to exceed our 2001 fiscal year target of $.75 per share.
"Highlights for the quarter include all-time record chemical sales, new license fee revenues from a recently relocated licensee facility, and continued control of operating expenses."
Operating Results
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2001 increased 65 percent to $10.7 million with net income of $5.0 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.20, compared to revenue for the June 30, 2000 quarter of $6.5 million and net income of $1.8 million or $.07 per share, excluding $8.5 million of non-recurring revenues and $8.1 million of non-recurring charges.
Revenue for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2001 increased 72 percent to $32.8 million with net income of $14.9 million and diluted earnings per share of $.61.
This compares to revenue for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2000 of $19.0 million and net income of $5.1 million or $.22 per share, excluding $14.9 million of non-recurring revenue, $22.4 million of non-recurring charges, and $3.0 million of income tax benefit.
Net income for the quarter and nine-month period ended June 30, 2001 represent increases of 169 percent and 193 percent, respectively, when compared to the corresponding June 30, 2000 recurring results. Operating income for the quarter and nine-month period ended June 30, 2001 did not include any material non-recurring items.
Chemical sales for the June 2001 quarter totaled $5.8 million and for the nine-month period ended June 30, 2001 totaled $15.4 million, more than two and a half times the sales for the corresponding nine-month period in fiscal 2000. Included in the June 2001 quarter's results is revenue related to a licensee's facility that was moved early in the year and recently began operating.
Headwaters continues to control operating expenses and for both the June 2001 quarter and nine-month period, operating expenses are below prior year levels.
Steven G. Stewart, Headwaters' chief financial officer, commented, "We are pleased with the results of operations from Headwaters' fiscal 2001 third quarter and the continued operational trend of increasing profitability. We are also pleased with the continued strength of Headwaters' balance sheet with over $18.4 million of stockholders' equity at June 30, 2001.
"During the June 2001 quarter, Headwaters repurchased approximately 560,000 shares, most of which are intended to offset shares to be issued in connection with the HTI acquisition. The company has now repurchased approximately 2.3 million shares with approximately $11.4 million returned to Headwaters' shareholders."

Agreed. I just don't want anyone to get caught up in losing anything. The company is in the right industry. . .and was previously believed to be a very HOT deliverer. But they have lived up to very little ~~ at this point, I'd call it a "momentum play," only.

The "bashers" clearly have an agenda. And it is labeled with "lying" and deceptive behavior. I do not believe that HRCT shareholders need to put up with their deception and lies. They will lose all of their energy as people they slander . . .and continue to instigate false accusations against. . .take a stance. HRCT, itself. . .is a real company. The OTC BB is not so swell, but HRCT will prevail. After the 10Q, there should be a lot less bashing. HRCT, however, merely needs to continue heading down the path on which they travel. . .and all will be happy in the end!

ARCH. . .Be careful with CHAG. It may run on some sort of sentiment. . .but unfortunately, the company has not lived up to statements made in press releases, and by the President of the organization. There are always "delays" when operating a business. . .but the pattern is getting a little abnormal, with CHAG. News is reportedly "pending," as it pertains to financing for the first infill wells. Those initial wells (not the ones presently on the KS property) will probably establish some type of credibility for the organization. We'll see. Nonetheless, if the financing doesn't go through, CHAG could incur a very difficult time on the road ahead.

Tinberrygood. . .alway enjoy your input. I had a conversation with another HRCT long. . .and we discussed several issues. I do enjoy the fact that we will have significantly increased revenues to report in the upcoming weeks. However, I must admit that the market is getting confused as to what HRCT actually is. First, the focus was on an Internet company in China. Second. . .the focus was turned to Sinobull.com & its associated partners. Then, came SA. Now, E-Education. From my perspective. . .HRCT appears to have a dire need to clarify their vision. Particularly the vision they are painting to investors. I sometimes get the feeling that they are making business decisions to "cater to the market" rather than to complete their business plans and objectives that were stated during the market craze. I've repetitively mentioned my concern that HRCT needs to COMPLETE business associations. . .one at a time. Then, move forward. I'm also a little concerned that Dr. Yang (that's not Wang as many are posting on the other threads) is going to take a more subtle position with the company. Does this mean that Alan Phan is going back to CEO? I have no problem with that, but I'm wondering if perhaps a more streamlined person (I know Alan just does the deals .. .but who is organizing them) might not be better to take the helm of the ship? Here's my thoughts on HRCT:
1 ~~ Get streamlined! The company appears to be branching in too ooooooo many directions! How does the saying go? A Jack of all trades is a master of none!
2 ~~ Get a clarified message to the market by focusing on the company's mission! Investors are not even sure what HRCT is. . .and they're not interested in incubating eggs. They want to know what they are buying for their buck.
3 ~~ Continue to focus on revenues and earnings. Each time I turn around, HRCT appears to be focusing on something else they perceive will be interpreted as "HOT" by investors. E-Education is now that item. What in the name of . . .well, whatever. . .ever happened to Sinobull and StreamingAsia? Again, I'm just pointing a couple of things out.
If HRCT truly wants to become a behemoth organization ~~ they have to ACHIEVE goals one step at a time. I still think there are just too many pans that are trying to fit on one burner. I realize Dr. Phan is headed to China (to spend more time there) to get things more streamlined and improve effectiveness of present operations (and to cut costs!). . .but that is not the key, IMO. HRCT needs to find their niche. . .and then strive to provide an excellent product. They also need to have a clear and concise business objective to present to the market. It would be nice if the above listed items were considered prior to the WTO accession of China. Because I have a feeling. . .until we see clarification on what HRCT is. . .and which direction they prefer to head. . .investors that try to figure HRCT out are going to wonder how HRCT believes they can go sooooo many directions ~~ and expect to be good, at anything. There's a lot of energy that appears to be wasted. We'll see. Like I said, I believe HRCT's best interest is to focus on reporting increased revenues. . .clarify their mission to the investing community. . .and report their earnings and revenues, in accordance with the company's development. I just don't understand how the focus can take soooo many directions. . .without completion of previous objectives.
Okay. . .that was more wordy than I wanted to get, but they are my thoughts on issues as they exist, with HRCT.
Peace,
M&M Man

Arch. . .buy low, sell high. No doubt ~~ CHAG is volatile. Daytraders may be able to make a killing off of that one!
HDWR ~~ It makes me wonder what the market response will be, tomorrow (to earnings report before market opens). It would be nice to get back there to that GREEN land again . . .LOL.

M&M Man
Hi Ben. . .
No way will I pull CHAG from my watch list. However, I'm not considering a long position with the company (any more). To me, it's just a stock in the energy sector. And the leadership of the company has poor relations with their investors. However, the potential is there. We'll see what happens when the drilling "commences". At this point. . .CHAG is nearly three weeks late on that projection. Rubin bought in at 9 cents a share. . .and he's already made nearly 100% off of his investment (on paper). Upward trend, continues.
Peace,
M&M Man

Ray,
That's a pretty good take on HDWR. I'm taking a look at a longer-term pattern, myself. No sense repeating my thoughts, so we'll just have to see. Taking a look at shorter term charts it appears that a "head-and-shoulders" formation is taking place (the past three months). Therefore, if that is the case. . .and trends with charts are accurate. . .we should see the stock dip down to 10 bucks. Today could be the day when the tree will shake. Some of you that are presently positioned to purchase stock, may want to consider bidding it down to 10 dollars. Since my charting ideas see this thing reaching at least 16 dollars per share (short-term) I'm not too concerned about a short-term setback. But in all honesty, the short-term charts (monthly) don't reveal a real good chance at bringing us down to 10. It's the mid-term charts (3-6 month pattern) and long-term charts (1 and two year patterns) that have me interested. The company's earnings, as well, set good valuation on the stock. We'll see.

HDWR may take a bounce around 10 before heading back uphill. Did anyone catch RHAT during the shakeout. Now up from the low of 3.25 a couple days back. Yahoo!

Definitely appreciate that take on the charts. However, take a look at the 6 month chart. JANX had a similar run back in February. . .then couldn't sustain the momentum. Also, we need to consider upcoming news. OTC BB stocks usually don't follow normal charting trends. They follow the "emotion" of the market. During the tech bubble, technical analysis seemed to work on everything. Today, however, investors are looking for strong companies. Many daytraders are going broke ~~ faster than they are making money. I'm hoping that something can take place that will push JANX over the 20 cent resistance/testing level. Then, it is possible the stock will run to a buck or so. For now, in this market ~~ I'll put a couple hundred into JANX and see what happens. I'm a strong believer in companies that are out to help the children of our world.

Hi Helmut!
CHAG has just been trying to get their own ship straightened out. Apparently, they are now of the opinion that things will begin rolling. I'd expect that we will hear something in the near future (as it pertains to the transaction that has taken place with RIG). We'll see, perhaps Rubin can help them pull it all off? The results of that first infill well will probably do more for CHAG, than any IR/PR personnel. Lets hope that well actually gets completed in the near future.

Arch . . .will keep a close eye on MJXC. Glad you liked the whisper numbers site. It's always good to try and stay a step ahead of the rest. Arch et al. . .for what it's worth, I really enjoyed taking a look at JANX. I'm going to support that company . . .because IT IS NEEDED! The same is true with HRCT. I don't care about the technical aspects on those two.
Okay. . .HDWR still looking good to me, fundamentally. Biogenetics also looking interesting (stem cells). I guess more people would understand this industry if they knew someone that needed to go through chemotherapy ~~ only to have the need for their stems cells to be replaced. It is a viable area of research. I'm not sure what the Pope is thinking when he is opposed . . .but perhaps he'd like to see a 14 year old lying in an intensive care unit. . .dying of a carcinoma that could be killed off via medical intervention. . .and have his own stem cells replaced (BIG part of the immune system) by having his own stem cells cloned prior to medical intervention. Some of these people that distance themselves from science, may wish to take a second look.

Hi Ray,
HDWR is very volatile in the short-term (but what a base between 10 and 13! I'm wondering if the deal with China will be based on WTO approval? The last I heard, final paperwork had been signed for the accession of China into the WTO. This could be big for both HRCT and HDWR. We'll see. My perspective on HDWR (from a charting standpoint) is that the next base appears to be around 20 to 24 dollars per share. That is. . .if the market can sustain itself. The NASD is really looking shakey, however. I didn't like that drop below 2,000 at all. Odd, isn't it? The Y2K bug appears to have infected the NASD LOL.
Other: I like the charts on HRCT and HDWR. If ASTM can break through resistance. . .it could be a good short-term hold. Stem-cell research is in its chrysalis stage. Now it appears to be a battle between G.W.Bush and the Pope LOL.

TMWD ~~ Upgraded by Bear Stearns. Trading up/gapping.

Hi Arch,
The Kiplinger Letter just summarizes what takes place in the financial markets. They don't go into much detail. Here's an example:
Company XXX announced intentions to merge with Company YYY. The settlement date is expected to be August 1, 2001.
Company TTT expects earnings to come in well ahead of analyst expectations. Earnings are expected to be released on Thursday.
Etc .. .etc, etc. In this way, we can have the "quick and clean" look at which stocks are covered on Archie's corner. At the end of the day. . .we may also wish to consider giving a "chart of the day" stock to watch. Just some thoughts. Perhaps we can round up some volunteers (those with the most expertise) to do chart summaries, or market summaries? One thing is for certain, we don't want to make the site too comprehensive. But when we have some great picks/people who are picking up good stocks. . .before they run, we need to assure that the newbies are watching the talent aboard.
Okay. . .gotta run and read a few charts. HRCT might trade nicely, today. Also. . .HDWR. . .I still like those charts. Earnings report coming on Thursday.

Archie. . .
This is going to sound crazy, but is there any way you could type up a "summary" of each day on Archie's board? I'm trying to free up as much time as I can. . .but it's not enough to attain all the information. What I'm referring to is a "summary" something like the Kiplinger Letter. That may be more work than you care to endure. . .but it may also attract more "newbies" to the corner. You could head off the summary with ...
*****Summary of the day!
Or something of that nature. If it can't be done, that's okay. It would sure be a cool thing, however. Particularly for those of us that are pressed for time. Thoughts, anyone?

For what it's worth. . .Please note!
Although I am quite upset at CHAG's recent shareprice, I am very confident that CHAG has what it has to deliver. Shane has taken a lot of heat, from me, and others. That's the way the market works (investors get frustrated). It must be a lousy position to be in. It is very necessary to consider the position that Shane is in. I don't care if Khan is sent back to Pakistan. In my opinion, he hasn't done a whole lot for CHAG. Not that I don't like guy. . .it's just that we need results. Shane, in all reality, has delivered results.
I'm going to continue to support CHAG, and follow my instincts for CHAG's potential. I believe there are people that are against Shane, that will try to build a "critical mass" that will bring CHAG down. However, I won't be a part of it. I trusted CHAG to be a good investment (from my gut) when I purchased the stock. I did my DD. The company is for real. However, I have reason to believe that there are people trying to "sidestep" CHAG. Shane is just a "passionate" person who wishes to reach his dreams. I . . .however, was a bit greedy by pushing to follow the advice of another shareholder who reportedly had information about CHAG. My problem. Nobody else's. I'm not selling my shares. The KS property and CHAG have too much going for them.
Here we go. . .the "roller coaster" from OTC BB avenue. If anyone can dig up information posing CHAG as anything but legit, we're all interested in hearing/seeing it. However, despite my being "nuked" from the CHAG Club site, I still continue to believe that CHAG is a credible investment. It's going to take a while for the stock to come around, but it will as more people get involved with the organization. More GOOD people. I'm hoping for the best. I'm trusting that the present President of the company, will continue moving forward. It's tough, in times like these. But here we are. Hard times call, as soon as the good times fall.
We shall persevere. I do not know enough about Shane Rodgers to think any differently. Nonetheless, the pressure he is experiencing must be enormous. Particularly I have heard from a person who reports to be communicating with Shane. . .who apparently has a problem with the company. It may be "business" related. Shane has never said anything bad about me. But I have heard this person say a great deal that is "bad" about Shane. it's just confusing. Again, I will trust my intuition. Lets get things moving in KS.

Thanks for the post! I have definitely moved my portfolio into the "fundamental" companies. . . .with great baselines and who are operating above the bottom line! The only emerging company I'm going to hold real long. . .is HRCT. They booted me off of the CHAG Club site because I made an offer to take over the company. LOL. I'm not sure what you are referring to on the "momentum." Check this chart out (use the 1 month chart for short term investors). I do not see any slowing down, here. Do you have another charting site. . .or other information (please post) that shows momentum slowing?
Please advise. . .

CHAG Club site continues to crucify their investors. Stock price is down. Shane Rodgers has finally admitted that the focus of the company is going to be to get new wells in place (in KS). No financing has been confirmed (other than PRs that several people have questioned. . .because drilling has not been initiated). ???? Conclusion. . .
Beware! These OTC stocks can drive one nuts.

BBB. . . I believe your assessment of CHAG is pretty much "spot on." The President of the company communicates like a baby. Until that man is replaced. . .and some of these reported "deals" will be done, the company will suffer. I do have information pertaining to interest in a "takeover" by a group of investors that are tired of the stories. I'll keep you all posted as time permits. For now, I'd pull CHAG from the watch list. And this is a person with a six figure position!
HDWR. . .Possibly a "new high" if earnings are sweltering. Otherwise. . .watch closely!
I'll keep my eyes on CHES!

Check out the 6 month chart indications for RSI, Stochastics, MACD, MA. . .and OBV. It doesn't evenappear that HDWR has made a run, yet. Something positive (on earnings) could send this thing up to the 20 dollar range. Also, look at the "base-on-base" formation for three consecutive tiers. I wish I would have been in on this one at three bucks back at the beginning of the year! Lets see if this latest "volatile" basing formation will break. The upside trading in the past two days has been very promising. Right industry, right time. . .right charts. Risk of stock dropping appear to be minimal.
Also. . .Ray .. .thanks for posing the questions on the CHAG Club site. It will be interesting to see the responses LOL. Mutiny!

My take on the charts is that HDWR still looks very strong for at least another buck increase. Do you have any opinions on that one? Or do you think it will be all up to the earnings report that will be issued on Thursday?
Also. . .Ray, EZ. . .or someone else. . .Is HRCT moving to China? I have heard that Dr. Charlie Yang may be stepping down, and Dr. Alan Phan may be re-locating, to China ~~ in order to continue to build operations. Perhaps HRCT will list on the GEM? Any thoughts?
Okay. . .Gotta run. But an update would be nice.

PS: CHAG ~~ Rumor mill ~~ Takeover being initiated. Shinkle Field has not been producing. Still awaiting financing for first infill well. Anyone's bet, at this point.
