ARTX Reminder: reporting earnings today after close
cc call tomorrow a.m.
FD: am on sidelines for now
ADCT has large institutional following
i find the jump into overbought on short term stochchastics to be a caution, but that's just me
those who look at liquidity ratios won't spend much time on this one either. it takes a lot of $ volume to move the stock
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=4074542
am going to add a personal criteria formula for liquidity to my TC2000 as a filter. this seems like an interesting way to better define beta or volatility which is a trader's friend and a large reason, I suspect, why so many traders play in the small priced area.
big wow for Susan on MFRI...am going into my setup formula for hinges to find out what tweaks would have put it on the scan over the weekend
see that reversal in the stochastic!
new just out on ARTX...going back in
ARTX banked at 1.77
looking to rebuy on pullback or resumption after this congestion
SBL the long...& short of it
even though must ihubbers seem to gravitate toward pennies or low priced issues for quick profits, higher priced issues can also be quite attractive.
The weekly of SBL demonstrates fine strength on a longer term stochastic oscillator. The chart has a nice solid feel to it imo, particularly because weekly volume has been increasing in an orderly fashion since the end of September. As long as the major averages continue to be healthy I expect Symbol will be too. It's also noteworthy that the sp bucked the 3wk downdraft in the SPX. This suggests that SBL could show strength even if the general market gets choppy.
the daily exhibits a pretty nicely stacked set of technicals too. In particular, I like seeing that all price retracements never seem to get to oversold on the 432s. This tells me that buying pressure overtakes profittakers quickly. Almost all of the higher volume days, particularly those accompanying turnups in the oscillator are green, and I believe the current uptrend will continue.
I will be looking at some of the SEC filings before committing funds. It is possible that institutional buying after the recent, evidently positive earnings release, will abate.
BTW, i sold PFE and rotated to PLMD in my long term account. Coming changes in Medicare, the increasing focus on disease management, and the company's recent resolution of a Dept. of Justice investigation into Medicare practices all bode well for the future. The chart has been uptrending since mid '01. And I like Wilford Brimley sitting on horseback telling diabetes patients how easy it is to get their supplies "and leave the billing collection to them" from Liberty Medical which is a big subsidiary of PLMD :)
"With this philosophy in mind, why do you allow these two boards to exist with no problem? hummmmmm

I would think you'd be more gracious that Buqqq would take the time to actually post the pictures of the tickers from the bottom & Power busters lists. It certainly saves the rest of us from manually punching in the tickers to the chart programs of our choice...and when we eye a promising pattern we can do our own further investigation with the TA parameters we are most comfortable with.
I applaud Buqq's initiative.
ARTX fyi: due to report qtrly earnings on Wed 11/10
it appears that shortterm traders wanting to be in cash took their gains near high of week just before the close. doesn't discount in my mind the nice action from the first half hour of the last hour :)
ARTX signs of life in last hour
1.69 is the pivot (high of the week)
1.68 13dy SMA

DYNT good sized bid/ask and tight spread
more interesting?
EASY remember the old Who song lyrics? "can't explain"
caught a nice scalp mid afternoon on EASY right as the volume picked up "Feelin good now, yeah, can't explain"
EASY has been on my WL since 10/27 but i forgot to tag it with my code so i don't even know why! the next 5 candles were all "black": close below the open, but the first three of those days the stock opened at the HOD and the real bodies of these candles were relatively large which, to me, is an indicator of increased volatility which means a tradeable opportunity.
EASY broke it's downtrend with a hammer on 10/8 and though it's not formful for my primary oversold scans it is a curious ticker.
There was an earnings release today
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/041104/45215_1.html
which i haven't looked at except to note they are making $.
Today's volume hasn't been this high in 5 months, the stock closed near the HOD and the dive in the short term stochastics is reversed. How buoyant can it be? I have no clue.
There's an awful lot of positive TA metrics here(most of which I've never manually calculated and barely understand). [Somewhere on iHub there's a model chart having to do with seasonality that i've tweaked for my own use and want to do further study with]
I think that if EASY can break resistance at 1.66 established twice in June and touched on Wednesday, then the 1.80s seem doable short term.
I believe it's worth your attention

am embarassed to state how long i've held this puppy. and how under water i have been. so i won't LOL.
RAE short term stochastic studies
a candlestick note of caution: RAE's performance today on reaching overbought on my primary scan is not encouraging. Some winners, e.g. AAPL, "paste" in overbought territory and show great persistence "sticking" to the ceiling (i was not a spitball person in grade school) but you can look at the picture
In the recent runup over the last month which i focussed on, RAE, pulls back, recoils?, whatever. The close (top of the solid body of the candlestick) on the date RAE reaches overbought territory has served as a very short term resistance point in the last month.
i am not an accomplished chart annotater, but you can eyeball the price movement HOD (.08,.00,.00) just after overbought was reached on 10/5, 10/19 and 10/27 and see that there are regular pauses in this uptrend.
the stock reached my target today and I took a gain..tho i had to chase it down to get it LOL. Now that i am on the sideline it will probably run nicely tomorrow :) am still bullish on the sector but am in scalp mode one of my trading accounts
i look forward to others explaining how they look at their charts and interpret them
good luck in YOUR trading
Homeland security plays hot this a.m.

anyone care to handicap this opportunity?
or submit a more comprehensive list
RAE rides a Bush tailwind in homeland security with its chemical and radiation detection monitors & networks
1. 3 White Soldiers candle pattern on increasing volume
2. a trendline can be drawn from the bottoms of the stochastic oscillator supporting further anticipated short term gains before its exhausts this latest upside move in overbought territory
3. pps at an alltime high.
not claiming "blue sky" but believe price will continue up until oversold territory is reached
although i usually look for oversold issues, this chart is such a standout...will be looking to enter if 7.60 isn't breached to downside and no big gap up at the open
DAVE share repurchase program
FD not long
FD i really like their BBQ brisket..only thing wrong with DAVE is their 1/2 ear of corn on the cob which they've never been able to offer with the sweetness of fresh
p.s. going to have to go get some rib tips and brisket now that i'm salivating
ABTG appears to be percolating at the bottom of the hour with some 20 & 25K prints

ABTG: EOD buys for third day in a row?
back in with trading shares for a few cents expecting a move back to HOD nearing the EOD
if buyers can't take SCHB & BAMM out of .45 by 2:30 it probably won't happen...when they are on the bid the direction is usuallyup
ASTM more than 50% retrace of today's HOD/LOD difference
reports of very heavy voter turnout is a positive for Kerry and therefore, stem cell "futures". i took the gain
saw an interesting post elsewhere re. speculative buying of a resource stock whose future is very cloudy if Kerry wins, based on assets that would be devalued due to environmental restrictions on one of their properties
post likened the play to a poker bet, with pot odds on a favorable outcome far outweighing the loss to be incurred should the outcome not be favorable.
how one quantifies the possible gain among stem cell issues when they've already done some running versus the pullback if Bush wins is beyond me.
ASTM buy 1.29 for bounce to mid-1.30s
added GNLB for bounce back to .75 tho not excited about it
LOUD is loud
took a few pennies on ARTX no vol today
ABTG into daytrading hands in last hour
ARTX todays action portends return to mid 1.60s and more

FCSE oversold bounce candidate
recent hi volume days are green, chart is recently formful based on short term stochastics. i will be stalking for entry monday
comments/analysis welcome
ABTG late action
hypothesis: market makers walk the price down selling what they don't have in inventory after the runup a week ago. Day traders puke up .01 & .02 penny losses thinking that the sp will retrace.
With 45' minutes to go in the week those mkt makers who are short begin to cover with 25 and 50K share buys.
Bids never expanded much and asks got consistently chewed.
another possibility is that there was institutional interest waiting for the wash/rinse to subside before going into buy mode: window dressing? there was a 499K trade 2' before the close at .37
any traders care to shed light on this kind of end of week/month activity
ABTG BPL in the N.Y.Times

International Powerline communications conf in Spain just ended.
If another run is in the offing i'd expect it to be soon.
SIGM hit a hi volatility-oversold scan
FD: i am not yet long any of these: LSCC EMC or SIGM
any chart observations anyone has on these candidates is most welcome
LSCC oversold channel play
a buy xing 8dy MA with vol. @5.20 for target near previous resistances at 5.60 given a friendly market
IMO good luck trading
EMC hinge in short term stochastic
ASTM 8-K out this a.m.
interesting points from initial scan of filing:
purchaser wants to remain anonymous!?
purchaser is not a registered broker-dealer and is not purchasing the shares and warrants with a view towards distribution of the securities
and, as previously mentioned the wts., issued at 1/4 of shares purchased is exercisable at a premium of 40+% to the issued share price.
i established a position this a.m. at 1.21
ABTG wash(out) and rinse cycle this a.m.?
added some trading shares at .35
international BPL show in Madrid today & tomorrow should generate some interest.
also added ASTM at 1.21
watching ADCT which had big buy just after 10am and is in retreat a couple of pennies
What a great set of charts offered up tonight on this board!
thx to "Susan" "hotstockmaker, and crumbster
the market has set up a large number of favorable long possibilities. I have a number of scans set up on TC2000 and got more hits tonight on more scans than I can ever recall seeing in the last couple of years: 21 3WhiteSoldiers on increasing volume, 47 bouncers from short term oversold stochastics, 21 "hinges" (upswing reversals before hitting oversold on short term stochastics, 5 bullish engulfs, etc.
here are three from the hinge scan: haven't traded TIBX but i like the look; have traded OPLK (not recently), and AUDC (last week) and have found them to be reliable for swing trades.
good luck all
ASTM
i am linked to realtime SEC filings through nasdaq.com. i've seen all the news, but it's in the filing that we'd see what kind of lockup or restrictions exist for this placement and this site doesn't have it yet.
how many placements have you seen with really cheap warrant kickers..the acquiring institution is only getting 1 wt. for every 4 shares or so, with an exercise over 40% higher than the purchase.
i could have had 1.22 and bet i will regret not taking it.
good luck
as a recent ihub devotee, i need to ask: is the Bounce thread primarily for scalps? if so, is there a better thread for discussing oversold or other bounce candidtes for longer term swing type trading?
ASTM about to pull trigger on a buy here...maybe
"gonna dump those 8 million shares into" seems a bit harsh.
haven't seen the filing but would assume with warrants offered above 1.70 there isn't any incentive to dump these shares.
why not look at a glass half full view that an institutional holder was willing to pay up near recent high prices for a sizeable chunk of the company.
i remember a similar situation with CORV?!(now BWNG)a year ago where the market dove even below a similar offering then flew to more than a double (had a dramatic fall later)
i think therefore, that ASTM, might be a great bounce candidate given the election prospects in CA. and the heightened awareness of stem cell research value recently.
anyone with a link to the filing?
development stage companies often take the opportunity to raise cash in favorable market conditions.
FNSR one more round for me
ADCT another very liquid issue with lots of supply that episodically melts
FNSR took .06 should be interesting tomorrow
while i wrestled getting the chart i missed TKER grrr. was watching it real closely too.
