Great Scott Markot! My theory is it holds around here @ support and goes higher.
So what stock are you going to invest in for the next few years?
Volume ramp too, looks promising. While overall market struggling.
Thanks Mike- Yes! I agree with your summary (plus) the announcement from OPEC that puts oil around 100 dollars BBL long term. (for those of you that do not understand, I believe this also helps our Organoclay outlook / the frackers). Unfortunately, I think OPEC was announcing this outlook to calm it's own members nerves more than being realistic. Thanks again for your insights, feel a little better now.
Well if you keep compressing and releasing a spring eventually your spring will be sprung. Hard to tell what is, if and when this company will decide to report seemingly important news. I'm waiting too, not for the PPS result but more for just seeing that the longer term plans are falling into place like they are supposed to be. This news, relatively small potatoes compared to the stuff still on hold and coming IMO but, sales always helps with the future earnings. GLTA
I posted a bunch on this a few days ago Mike but someone decided that record Lithium Batteries sales by another company was not germane to this stock or the PPS.
Who is selling?
Yep maybe all the action today had something to do with grabbing the low hanging fruit on the ask before the Focalin announcement. So maybe this action repeats if people keep setting sell orders a dime above the previous day's closing price. The next resistance is around $3.50? Well it went to $3.15 with no news so I bought more @ 3, so thank you for bringing it back down (I think) :)
HOD close? Big Ask being grabbed up, nice Volume, all good :)
Seems like buying across the board I'll take it GO IPCI!
Well! Are we headed to .75 and .82 now?
Looked around but did not see anything new as far as news..........
Wow hit 6.40 AH, covering or spec?
not in the next ten minutes, Gunk
Weeeee!!!!! Just another POOP AND SCOOP Good luck short stuff.
Do we need to have a good rant to get this over $3?
RANT!-RANT!-RANT!
GLTA.
My opinion- Did My opinion bet on a short sell when it went under $5?
UH oh!
Final hour peeps!
Imo the mms are working it hard clearing out weak hands now thru EOD. Fives will hopefully be gone soon. Imo its covering and mms started back early because their clients are lined up to close their short positions.
I'm holding my position.......
Lunch break was cancelled.
Volume shrinking? When does this run out of available shares to purchase? Uh oh!
I'm thinking lets go right to $6.40 and resume the trend.
Someone is going to jump in and mess up that 5.35 orderly exit
With a 52.49% short position GEVO already traded ALMOST 3x float in 2.5 hrs, not counting Pre market buying. Could it go ballistic like historic VW squeeze did? Margin calls? No shares to buy anywhere? Just thinking positively, GLTA.
NRC oh what the Heck jump in the waters fine.
My first thought is he might be trying to control and downplay the price of potential future lithium acquisitions / agreements by Tesla.
When people talk about something that is inexpensive or abundant these have to be put into context. A ton of lithium might now be worth 6000 dollars, the prices set by quality and demand. The charts say lithium demand will double more or less by 2020, and our process is supposed to deliver a really high purity lithium product.
These guys can only hope their demand / supply estimates are correct and not low. While saying lithium is in plentiful supply, they are saying (but oh, by the way) we are going to be consuming the supply buy building lots of lithium products at the Gigafactory.
All this while WLCDF seems to be in accumulation mode.
Second thought is part of their presentation's purpose is to downplay the negatives of investing in their (Musk's) vision.
Crappicola! you are right tkpsf! I got mixed up with another company I am invested in that just secured 200 M.
I would be surprised if we will have to wait long now- hope we get a low interest loan instead of other means, except maybe the Organoclay returns will be enough to get started.
read this:
http://www.westernlithium.com/project/quick-facts/
•Once full lithium carbonate production of 26,000 tonnes per year is achieved, average annual cash flow is projected to be $124 million per year
•The project benefits from established infrastructure including road access, power supply and a local water source
•115 kV power line over site
•600 kms to port at Sacramento, 700 kms to port at San Francisco
•Located to meet U.S. domestic market and good access to Asian markets
•Timing of anticipated lithium production coincides with rising demand expected from the increased use of mobile electronics and hybrid/electric vehicles
I would lend them the money right now if I had it.
I think what they are saying is if Tesla does not step up at some point soon that the lithium can be sold to world bidders. If the lithium is sold only @ 2000 dollar profit per ton the loan could be paid back in less than 3-4 years, not counting the income realized from potassium and sodium or the Organoclay. Then 16 more years of profits?.........The Organoclay production could run longer? Heck, I might not even be around to see the end of the run, what a bummer.
You're asking for a transaction between two companies which just even hinted at would send our stock price through the roof. But what would it do to the Tesla PPS? I think they will want more in return for this than just selling WLCDF a solar collection and storage package.
Granted, solar power engineered into lithium processing plant electricity requirements would be neat in the future but IMO more expensive at startup than Generators or power from the pole.
Need to assume that Tesla / Panasonic is going to be a large consumer of lithium near future. We have secured financing to build the plant without Tesla. So there is no deal yet, (or the financing is being done 3rd party to keep arrangements secret?).
IMO once we have a producing plant a deal between Tesla and WLCDF becomes plausible as it would benefit the shareholders of both companies.
Either way, the management should be motivated by a window of opportunity coming soon and they will get this Lithium extraction plant built ASAP.
Good stuff. Spec jumping in and out here because Elon has a habit of announcing unexpected news. Nothing really Earth shaking today for us, but a reaffirmation of his plan to utilize lots of lithium, albeit 2017.
Thanks MOPAR!
The stock has witnessed two upward estimate revisions in the past 30 days
look up definition of 'Poop And Scoop'
Sometimes when negative posters show up up the volume and price go up inexplicitly.
What's up with that?
News leakin?, Specin on Tesla? Insider info? Poopin and a scoopin?
I'm thinking we are on support and buying will go on up to $3.50 GLTA
Need news to blow it open.
For a shareholder it is connecting the dots. Being 90 miles from a battery Gigafactory that is expanding into new markets outside of automobiles is the main connection. Oil prices stabilizing support the Lithium demand, along with the big advances coming in the Solar products costs of manufacture and output. Western Lithium will secure some kind of deal / partner / funding, and/or be absorbed.
I would like to see some new highs above the February spike now been waiting patiently, nice chart ready to rock, IMO.
Like the story and long.
Poop And Scoop
Read this and watch my rollercoaster video too.
Seems to me that these types of activities precede news or large moves, so hang on, IMO.
Poop And Scoop
DEFINITION of 'Poop And Scoop'
A highly illegal practice occurring mainly on the internet. A small group of informed people attempt to push down a stock by spreading false information and rumors. If they are successful, they can purchase the stock at bargain prices, as the overall marketplace will have sold off the security, causing the price to fall dramatically.
INVESTOPEDIA EXPLAINS 'Poop And Scoop'
Poop and scoop is the opposite of a pump and dump, in which one or more individuals will spread false information on a security in the hopes of raising the price artificially and being able to sell their position at a much higher price. Both of these practices are illegal activities and punishable by the SEC in the United States.
A similar tactic employed by insiders is "short and distort," where instead of buying the stocks at a discount when rumors and false information cause the price to drop, unethical investors short sell the security for a profit.

Tesla wants you to have one of its batteries

And not just inside an electric car
(Bloomberg)
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/tesla-wants-you-to-have-one-of-its-batteries-2015-03-18
A Tesla Motors ‘supercharger’ at the company's design studio in California. Tesla is to announce soon its energy storage plans.
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)—Tesla Motors Inc. wants its batteries to be in your garage—and not just in your car.
Tesla TSLA, +6.01% is set to introduce a line of home and utility-scale batteries on Thursday, marking the electric-car maker official entry in the stationary storage business.
Chief Executive Elon Musk last month tweeted about a new “major” product line and said back in February Tesla was working on a battery for homes and businesses.
Solar-power systems installer SolarCity Corp. SCTY, -0.17% has unveiled a microgrid service, which combines solar power and batteries. Musk is the chairman of SolarCity, where his cousin, Lyndon Rive, is chief executive.
Tesla has the customers and the technology to go deeper into the storage business, but it will also take on more risk, analysts said. And, unlike the relatively staid car-making business, it would be competing with newer companies, many of which can match it in technological prowess.
Tesla as battery supplier
Tesla could become a battery supplier to SolarCity and to other companies that make microgrids, said Ravi Manghani, an analyst with GTM Research.
SunEdison Corp. SUNE, -2.48% another major solar company, has offered microgrids in emerging markets, including in some remote Indian villages. Others are bound to enter the market, either through acquisitions or partnerships, Manghani said.
Unlike the power flowing from relatively few, massive power plants that travels great distances over transmission lines and the like, microgrids use sources of energy (often renewable) that are close by and, depending on the location, are more reliable and cheaper than power from the grid.
SolarCity said the new microgrid product is aimed at remote communities such as islands, military bases and hospitals.
The ‘gigafactory’ would churn out more than car batteries
Tesla, which produces batteries for its electric cars in conjunction with Japan’s Panasonic Corp. 6752, +1.03% is building a $5 billion battery plant outside Reno, Nev.
The plant is expected to produce batteries at a lower cost to power Tesla’s Model 3, the mass-market vehicle the company hopes to start selling in two to three years. Along the way, however, the “gigafactory” will also reduce the costs of energy storage through sheer economy of scale.
Branching out into storage would help Tesla diversify, said Efraim Levy, an analyst at Capital IQ. The risk, however, would be shifted to Tesla.
“They are the ones stuck with the infrastructure,” he said.
Even those Wall Street analysts who have been less bullish on Tesla acknowledge that the company’s storage business could become a highlight.
A year ago, Goldman Sachs said Tesla is bringing a “key missing factor” in storage—its batteries are compact, durable, and low maintenance, and could be a fraction of the cost once the gigafactory is up and running.
Best estimate posted for Value $4.83
Worst estimate posted for value $0.018?
Yahoo estimate listed (one Analyst) $4.00
Average = $2.95
Still not too bad, I'll take it.
But I'm liking that reasoning on how we could get to $4.83
GLTA.
Up 7.77% seems like a lucky number. See you all tomorrow.
Isn't hard to not feel something is in the works?
Hoping it was just the health sector turndown this morning and a shrug off back to the HOD.
GLTA.
Been waiting for that break above $3.00 and make it support.
I was researching this subject further and found an IHub post containing The Nanotechnology Battery Nano Battery page of Understanding nano. This lists many links with short descriptions of the innovations and research conducted utilizing nanotechnology in the manufacture of nanobatteries (most of which utilize a lithium / nano combination). This also has links on the LH side to nano solar and nano fuel for your enjoyment.
