Very true. I'm confident the deal will go through!! If we're getting scammed, this is definitely the most elaborate I've seen on the pinks.
And I agree that ANY SEC investigation of the company probably isn't a good thing...If they can stem the naked shorting, that's one thing, but looking into the voracity of the PR's would not be good for us, at least short-term. What I mean is that I believe what the Dr. is doing is on the up and up, and an investigation would no doubt exonerate him. But when word gets out that the SEC is poking around, bad things will happen no matter what the outcome is.
Here's my understanding about how the SEC / FBI process works (or is supposed to work). The SEC has authority over trading and all the regulations that govern the market. The FBI is responsible for criminal enforcement for SEC violations. The FBI and SEC do a joint investigation. The SEC has civil sanctions they can impose. The FBI can enforce criminal violations. Hope that helps.
I think their MO is to let it run up, and then naked short it back down. Very, very annoying!!
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see the new spin-off as a separate publicly traded company. I see it as a wholly owned subsidiary of ACMG. If they do decide to take the spin-off in the direction of a separate public company, they'll have to do all of the SEC filings and red tape, which will take a while. And I don't see the benefit of doing that. LIke I said, I may be wrong, but that's what I see here.
What about the new company being a wholly owned subsidiary of ACMG? They imply in the PR that the second company would be fully traded, but they don't actually say that. Could just be a subsidiary of ACMG. And the ticker ARTL is already taken by "The Aristotle Corporation". I'm going with the wholly owned subsidiary.
Actually, they hired a programmer. That was PR'd a couple months ago.
Edit: I'm assuming they created this in-house..kind of sounds like it.
A few more big contracts like this one, and we're good to go!! Let's see some black on the bottom line.
Today was kind of weird. No activity, and then a bunch of big sales on the ask. I'm not sure what to make of it, but it ended up a tick at least.
Try the bottom link...Actually, it's an e-mail for tips. You can get there from their website as well:
http://sec.gov/complaint.shtml
enforcement@sec.gov.
I agree with you. Overstock was shorted over an extended period, but their business fundamentals were also on the downside. Companies that are overpriced and/or have deteriorating fundamentals are eaten alive by the nakeds. I think ACMG's business plan will result in enough consistent growth to keep the nakeds somewhat out of the picture, that's all I'm saying.
The SEC really needs to step up and take enforcement action against these scumbags!!!!
We can all argue about what's causing the downturn today until we're blue in the face. And all we'll be is blue in the face. Yes, there's probably some false dilution going on with some naked shorts. Yes, the MM's are pushing this thing down. Yes, there's some profit taking and flipping.
We need to keep the focus longer than a single day, or week, or even a few months or so. Naked shorting is a short-term problem that will correct itself in due time. The best defense against naked shorting is strong business. We have that (assuming this isn't a scam). Stay focused LONG-TERM and you will be fine. If you want to pick up shares cheap, the nakeds are actually your friends. Pick them up down here on the bottom, and then stay long. I think this is a good strategy for this stock, in my opinion.
Seems to have leveled off around .07....I guess the MM's stopped the printing presses for a few minutes.
At some point here, they'll spark enough demand to push it back up again...I'm guessing it'll be between .07 and .075. But they may succeed in pushing it lower still...
I agree...And now we know Frank has something tangible to go after...but a bobblehead clause would be pretty cool.
Maybe it's a structure where all Ihub investors suddenly convert to preferred shares (with a dividend). Maybe not. But it's good to dream.
I've got a question...Wasn't Frank's suit against the company based on shares of EVSY he thought they owed him? Doesn't that pretty much go away now that HE controls EVSY? I can see the countersuit still being in the mix...Am I missing something?
Edit: And I'll be disappointed if rights to the exclusive use for the bobblehead aren't included in the final settlement. OK, now I'm done.
It's safe, but you probably don't want to. We'll send a chamber maid (or two) in when it's time. Nice to hear from you again.
Anybody heard from Skier lately? Or has he locked himself in the basement...away from his computer (not a bad idea actually).
Here it goes...the next 15 minutes should be interesting..
These are the MM's trying to push the price one way or another. The 911's today have been to the upside, so the MM's are trying to get the price up slightly so someone will sell. If you see these small trades pushing the price down, they're trying to get someone to buy. At least I think that's what they're doing...I haven't completely figured out their game yet.
SIAM wouldn't be able to buy 30M today, even if they wanted to (at least not below $1.00). Any significant buying will push the price up, and I guarantee it would hit $1.00 before they even got close to the 30M, since that's most of the float. If they start buying a significant amount, watch the pps go straight through the roof!!!
I bought another 40K today...got it in before the pop!!! Makes my total 110,000.
I'm planning to...I'll see what the price does.
How about this...
There once was a man from HISC,
Who sent us into the abyss.
His name is Frank Moody,
Went to prison quite duly,
And now has an ever-sore booty.
Sorry, Spence, I had to mention him one last time!!!
I've got 70,000 and hope to at least double that if it stays down another few days. If not, I'm happy either way!!
RB is for those who don't get enough abuse at home. Like I said before...angry mob.
OT:That's an angry mob over there (RB)..And not just on this board, on others as well.
You could always send yourself somewhere...At least with FedEx or UPS you'd get there.
Thanks!! And I'm glad Skier hasn't gone postal or worse!!
I agree!! We've speculated for a long time that Fred was holding back good news. I hope that's the case!! And let's get the GSM CT up and running. It's been on the website for quite a while as if it was done (same w/ the satellite version). I was digging in Cingular's website and under "Devices" I located a business "solution" option that tracks assets, monitors everything known to man, and from the way it was described really sounds like the CT. Unfortunately, I needed a password to actually ID the thing. I applied for an account, but haven't heard back from the lately. I think I got there under the Government tab. I'll let everyone know if I can actually ID the "device".
Maybe somebody knows something that we all don't and are selling. Who knows. But to me, this looks like a good, old-fashioned sell-off with some added panic in there for good measure. If this occurred on some bad news, I'd be very worried (remember the run-up in December on no news? Same deal, just went backward this time). Unless there's something going on that we don't know about, this is concerning to me, but not to the panic point. Yes, this will knock some top off the upside pop on good news, but won't affect the long-term outlook as long as the company gets its chit together (THIS is the big "IF" at this point). And it's so low now, what's the point of selling? Panic doesn't do anybody any good.
I'm with Ward. SAles were ramping up in September and October. That's really the last we heard about sales. The fact the company hasn't PR'd them, makes no sense to me, but I believe there are significant sales that we'll hear about shortly. I may be wrong. But my money is staying here. Feel free to disagree (I know many probably will).
Sorry this is so long.
I think we should be wearing body armor.
Just the fact that Alex was able to get BHL to release something about this tells me that their relationship is pretty strong. Or Alex kept bugging them and bugging them until they got tired of it. What people have been saying is right on...That this isn't anything to BHL, and the fact that they allowed a PR on it is saying something pretty strong. I was in the camp of the skeptics on this company...I didn't know either way. This has helped make my mind up a bunch on this company. I plan to buy more...
I know I'll be adding more as soon as funds settle.
If SIAM does decide to buy a bunch of the float, I think that'll boost the pps big time. That will most likely increase the volatility, with fewer "active" shares trading, but I think it'll be a good thing overall. I'm for it.
The MM's were busy screwing things up today..had lots to settle.
All I can say is "OUCH!!!"
Skier - Theft of heavy equipment is a HUGE problem. The ID numbers (VIN) are not stored in a central location like for cars, trucks, etc. Tracking heavy machinery is a huge headache for companies, and theft of this equipment is rampant. From a law enforcement perspective, even finding the VIN on these things is a specialty in itself. Lojack has gotten involved in this somewhat, but their technology is inefficient and outdated. So the CT is ideal for this...
I know the gold standard is the NASDAQ for a company like this, but they may eventually look to an exchange with lower standards, such as the AMEX. Still a pretty big bump up from the BB, but easier to achieve than the NASDAQ. Just a thought.
And the selling can come from many different places. Could be the MM's manipulating the price, could be a large holder dumping, could be naked shorting, could be real shorting, could be FTD's (failure to deliver - kind of like naked shorting) could be any or all of these. It's hard to tell. Sentinel is right, the best defense to this is a steady climb stemming from sticking to the business plan. Nothing curbs this like actual demand for the stock at a higher price.
good luck...
