Arnold, common sense says that you wouldn't be here unless you thought there was a good chance that cygx will complete the transformation from science to manufacturing with profit in their future. (Unless you are really really bored with your life).
Nearly, being a small business owner I feel qualified to say that a research organization and the typical small business are nothing alike. Small business is driven by profit motive. Research organizations are driven by science motive. Although the aren't mutually exclusive, it is more the case than not that the research organization isn't as much concerned with profitability at the end of the day. Moreover, the currency printing press that is the private placement is not as viable a vehicle for the small business as models would need to show profitability (or at least a road to it) for private money to be attracted.
All that being said, the proof will be wether MS, or whoever has the wheel going forward, can achieve the stated objective of going from a research company to a manufacturing company. Then the profit motive will determine the true value of cygx, if any.
I'd sure hate to be one of the last pp investors. bought at .40 when stock was trading at .60. Locked in for 1-2 yrs. OuCH!!
"i suggest growing your own!", Oh contraire, this approach HAS put rich white men behind bars!!
The 2 yr chart comparison if AVII and cygx is pretty interesting.
Skoob, I would like to take this opportunity to try and persuade you to rethink your position regarding cygx. In all fairness, you must admit, that you have gone from ditch to ditch regarding the potential of the company. I, like you, have been here for more than a little while and I too had expectations that where on a different time frame. But I would suggest that you reconsider the events that have lead you to your current position.
First, Simpilvar.
As has been promoted by the company, this is still a viable solution for herpes. The issues we have always been on the out of country licensing and marketing. The science is sound.
Second, Sepis
Again, it's not the science. We where oversold on the companies ability to turn science into revenue.
Third, Same can be said for Inhalation preventative for lung cancers.
ssDNA- Still is the backbone for all of the cygx technology. AND IT WORK.
synDNA- A method for the company to more affordably refine their science. ALSO, A MARKETABLE PRODUCT.
My point is, you were able to forsee the potential of cygx back in 2001 and 2002.
Maybe, like me, you applied a time frame more suited to business and not medicine.
It is my belief at this point that the reasons LW cand FV where shown the door is that they oversold cygxs' short term potential.
I believe that the science can't be denied. It will happen. We don't know how it will play out but I would encourage you to rethink your belief in the science.
I hope you take this in the spirit it was intended and I hope to share a beer or two with you on the links when we acheive our hopes w/ cygx.
ps Adrian Peterson to the Vikings. Booyah!!!!
It is my understanding that Dr. Weiner oversaw the HIV/Monkey test whose results were recently reported. It is my understanding that Dr. Weiner remains strongly in support of cygx approach. Also, it is my understanding that Dr. Weiner is significantly involved in the presentations forthcoming in Spain.
Say goodnight for 2 yrs.
holy holy holy COW
Since I'm up,...Another thing that bugs me about MS suggestion in latest paid interview to "watch for the PR's" is that I, like many of you I'm sure , have become desensitized to anything that is not in the 10K. I think the cry wolf theory has taken root here and it's going to take $$$$$ to move this 'good idea'(I'm being generous) higher.
In someones immortal words, 'welcome to my nightmare'. This stock will have you cusing you grandma before you know it. But welcome by all means!!!
The word that jumped out at me in the interview was "gradual", in reference to to build up of revenue via sell of synNA. I read that as ssslllooowww....Quack, quack, quack.
round and round and round we go, where we stop, nobody knows...
No guta, actually you said it all in the first 4 word you wrote, "A bit more speculation"
Believe it or not, I am long and have been since the beginning. I have bought in at .03, .15, .54 and most recently .41. The first two through PP. After that, online. Every time with a hope for good things to come. But at some point you got to scratch your head.
I opened an account on ihub from my office

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck....This company is what it is. Not once over the hump in the 7 years, God help me, that I've been here. Lot's of well meaning good intentioned dreamers without the means to get anything done it would appear. This was basically an investment for my childrens college. They were in diapers when I first invested. Looks like I'll be giving them shares of this stock to take notes on.. Paper cost in 2012 should be around .40/each.
Guta- Unfortunately "gut feel" = pipe dream
To clarify--
From 10K
"Because of the cost (up to $1.7 billion) and timeframe (up to 15 years) traditionally associated with developing a potential drug or pharmaceutical product to where FDA approval for human sales is received, the Company's business strategy is to develop its products to initial Phase III human clinical trials and look for third parties to fund completion of development of the product and market the product through strategic partnerships, license agreements or other relationships. The Company also looks for collaborative and other efforts utilizing its technology to increase shareholder value. The Company currently uses this strategy to limit the potential cost the Company would incur in developing a product. The Company's expected costs under our various contracts and for various drug development products can be estimated for the next year or two, but not much beyond that due to the uncertainty of clinical trial results and research results. Because of the various factors noted above and the expectation that, until the Company establishes revenue sources, the Company will license to, or jointly develop its prospective products with, strategic partners, the Company reviews, at least annually, each research program and clinical trial, based on results and progress during the prior year and estimates its needs for that program or trial for the coming year, making adjustments based on the progress of the program during the year. The Company does not set long-term development budgets or development schedules for bringing its products to market or track its research costs on a product basis.
BW- Didn't MS indicate that CYGX wouldn't go into phase II and beyond without partner?
Guta, At this point I would take a knock off of HEAD ON if it would create revenue.
Please don't insult the Chinese!!
If you where one of the smart/lucky folks who got out at the $1.40-1.50 range, it would seem to be an good time to get back in. Lot of cash on the sidelines so they say.

Food 4 thought.. With all the false starts, if cygx ever takes a few steps w/o stumbling, (yet to be seen), the share price might shoot up faster than one would anticipate...OK, I'm reaching here....
"nutrient rich environment everything wants to multiply". Except for the share price!
Paulness, There in lies the problem. What is cygx worth?
Try this on...Since it is acknowleged that cygx will not go in to phase III trials w/o a pharm partner, and that all mfg will be sub'd out, wouldn't it be worth the companies efforts to try and establish a value for they science and market position and/or patents that they do own. Now. The company has spent so much time and effort on getting the science to this point, I would hope that the new CEO would start testing the waters for a price.
If sales double every year, cygx will crack 1,000,000 in 2011. Assume 50% profit margin, burn rate of 4 million a year, we only stand to lose 3.5 million in 2011. Oh well, back to my PROFITABLE business.
would you please copy link to report. Thanks in advance.
llllllllllllluuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllll...........
Sauce, funny you said this. Last night I was watching one of the market recap shows and the topic of growth versus sustainable growth was discussed. Gist was, would be worse to come out with some sales figure that doesn't reflect actual happenings. Slow and steady is what the market wants so until we get it right and can keep it going, I don't think we will see enough significant volume in cygx to impact the share price much at all. JMO
Now that's funny no matter who you are!!
I recently read an article suggesting the fear we as american should have when foreign countries start demanding payment for oil in euros not dollars. More at stake than I care to try and remember w/o reviewing. I will try and find it. It was a good read.
hear hear, and he understood the patients necessary in the development of new technology. Where is my update Dam!t!!
Paulness, my previous post obviously was not directed at you.
Yeah, maybe so, but I bet he would get a big laugh to see how far down the intelligence ladder this board has fallen. Remember when the topic of discussion would center around the translation of mRNA? Now it centers around updates. Updates daM!t. Give me updates.
Pathetic. I, ego and sack grabbing in 20 words or less. At least you are getting more economical with your insults. And for the record, my dad can beat up your dad.
On Thalio, (the real one)>>Whatever happened to him or her? Seemed to pop up every now and then but hasn't been heard from in years that I'm aware of. You?
Talk louder. I don't think everyone on this board heard you and from what you I gather, you are one that needs to be heard, if only by yourself.
