Ultrack has been awfully quiet. We know there's a new ad out this week. hmmmmmmmm. The plot thickens.
June 12th is around the corner. Logic tells us that certification must be this week.
yep, today is the day...it's long overdue. but the run-up is finally starting, IMO.
TODAY IS THE DAY. The volume pickup in the past half hour suggests big news by 2pm today! At least that's what it suggests to me (and there's no bias in my perception :)
I have a theory about the silence: I think the Canadian govt has used ELD contracts (as both a bait and a threat) against any vendor who talks or complains about the delay. Or maybe it's simply that vendors themselves simply fear govt retaliation in the form of either the government rescinding a pending contract or not granting new ones to them.
there was a sense of urgency with that bid at .066. I think someone knows something.
Something appears to be up. Someone knows something and it's good.
I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that it's June 7, and certification seems farther away today than it did in the first week of April. And we've been kept completely in the dark. No one's saying or explaining anything about this situation. Why the silence? Clearly, they've been told not to utter a word about the massive screw up. By whom? Who gave them the marching orders? Who's ass are they covering? What have they (the vendors) been threatened with and by whom?
they've already extended strict enforcement of the mandate to June 12, 2022. If you mean that you expect another delay, that doesn't serve the government's interest. After all, they went out of their way to keep the June 12 mandate in place rather than delay it. And they've been urging all truck fleets to go ahead and make plans right now to get their certified ELDs as if the mandate were being strictly enforced starting June 12.
that's one possibility; there are others. The bottom line is that whatever FPInnovations has to do to get certified ELDs on the market, they should do it right now. The time for nuance has long past. GET THE DARN DEVICES ON THE MARKET ALREADY! It's 7 weeks past due (April 15th). What the heck is taking so long?! It's not the first time that they've certified ELDs.
And where are the journalists in Canada. This is a big story, why aren't they covering it?
why is the street treating this stock like dead money? It certainly isn't at this point in time. Far from it.
The problem (see below) seems to be one of complexity and inconsistencies--a problem that seems would have been even worse (hard to imagine) with more players in the game:
"the detailed technical specifications and prescriptive testing procedures have become a quagmire that threatens the long-term viability of the Canadian ELD rule and is frustrating carriers and vendors alike. Reputable vendors have been uncovering technical errors, discrepancies, and inconsistencies in the testing process. The result is no devices being certified despite nearly five months of review and testing."
Redundancy is a prophylactic against "normal accidents" due to the perverse and unknowable effects generated by complex systems (e.g., very dense networks with many nodes of interactions). Redundancy provides security against uncertainties created by high complexity. I don't think that's what we're dealing with here (ELD certification). But...
I wish I had just stumbled upon MJLB. I swear I'd buy 8 million shares right here. If that drove the price up to the 8 or 9 cent range, all good. Still a tremendous bargain! There must be someone out there with cash to shovel into the stock right here, right now.
Normally I would agree, but I'm not entirely sure this time. The problem seems to be mass confusion about protocols, testing consistencies, changing requirements, etc. If there's this much confusion and inconsistency with just one certifying entity, can you imagine what we'd being seeing with four or five of them?
What FPInnovations does or doesn't do is beyond MJLB's control. Remember what Jake always says, Ultrack is not a one-trick pony.
if you're already in the midst of an unexpected 7-week certification delay, which you've called a slight-speed bump, why do you wait 5 weeks to put out a positive press release? Why make your loyal shareholders suffer more than they have already? And needlessly so? There must be lots of good news from the product launch campaign as well as everything else they have cooking. I think Ultrack's CEO is a terrific visionary, and I do think he has been very good to and for shareholders. But sometimes he works in very strange ways. This stock is under the radar at a time when it should be an OTC shooting star.
well, the good news is that it has to get better from here. it just can't get worse in terms of share price or volume.
thankfully, i bought 500 shares at .0665 at the end of the day, or we would have been down again...
reputation? Future government contracts? They certified ELDs for the US, I believe.
they're too busy certifying ELDs to answer the phone or emails :) They should be renamed: FPEnervations
yep, but it's past the 11th hour, they simply have to approve ELDs right now. The clock is running down, there's no more sand left in the hour glass. They, and they alone, have been tasked to do a job by the Canadian government. They must get it done before the mandate.
certification...why not today? I just can't believe that they won't get ELDs certified before the June 12th mandate. If they have to work 24 hours a day, it has to get done by Friday.
do you remember a few months ago, when 450,000 shares would trade in the last 5 minutes? Them was the days!
I can hear people reading this board saying:
"It's not their fault. No one has certification yet. There's nothing Ultrack can do about the situation. The problem is with FPInnovations and Transport Canada."
Yes, to a large extent that's the problem. But all the good news was happening four and five months ago. Why was there no shortage of good news back then? Wouldn't you think that, with the retention of the marketing firm and with the launch of advertisements and everything else that Ultrack has done, some good news would be released in a PR? Anything at all? What about Q1? If nothing else, how about an update on certification? This stock should certainly be trading at 10 cents by now. I just don't get it. But what the heck, there doesn't seem to be any urgency regarding the share price. Who am I to complain, I suppose.
This is plain crazy. It makes no sense on so many levels. It's like we entered an alternative universe and there's no escape. Why is/are there:
1. no buying ahead of certification and pending contracts? It's June 6th!
2. no contracts announced since Feb 11?
3. no partnerships?
4. no specific details regarding expansion?
5. no mention of second installment of share retirement?
6. no truly positive press releases of any kind since Feb 11?
Failing all that, I still don't understand how the share price could continue to drop to the 5-6 cent range after share retirement. Four straight months of steady falling, and there's still no buying. How could this not be oversold here?
let's add some fire to this fire.
Three words I never ever want to see again as long as I live: reformed testing protocol.
true. Who would have thought three months ago that certifying ELDs would become the Manhattan Project?
it's the week of the mandate (Sat.). That should give MJLB a push...and, more importantly, FPInnovations motivation to get it done already!
at this point, certification is going to feel like being kissed by god.
last day to get 6-cent shares--heck, it could be the last hour to get them.
Yes, and precisely de Gaulle's snide point. Given its politics, Canada (Brazil, in his case) will never actualize its latent potential. And we've been living that hell.
As Charles de Gaulle said of Brazil in 1962, Canada has great potential, and it always will.
given their nonresponses to emails and phone calls, I'm guessing that only two lonely miscreants work at FPInnovations--F and P.
but what if the family friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends are all broke or don't have trading accounts? :)
it's way over my head, and I'm a social scientist. But I trust your technical skills. I just wish that these charts would work faster :) Let's hope that everything will be more than wonderful sooner than later (like next week!)
i'm hoping we get cert news by 3pm today! I can always dream :) That said, it seems right to me that certification would come on the Friday before the week of the mandate. I just can't see this process being dragged out past the June 12th.
could you translate that for us non-technical types? Thanks!
absolutely. And why not today? Seems like today is as good a day as any to expect certification. Come on already, FP Innovations, get off your fat asses and do your job! Earn your $50,000 plus per vendor!
Why not today? For certification, for a contract announcement, for a "good news" PR of any kind? Why not today? It's time for a sense of urgency. It's time to show us (and the world) the money. Feb. 11 was almost 4 months ago. It's time.
