b]Remarkable Anecdotal Story
Yale physicians are treating a woman for a very rare and vicious disorder with no real cure called Microscopic Polyangiitis (also known as "Microscopic polyarteritis [MPA]). She had been treated by chemo and steroid treatment and more recently “Imuran” (azathioprine) (link here) that has numerous untoward and very dangerous side effects and carries a black box warning. Her Yale team of physicians is currently treating her with “Imuran” (azathioprine); however her husband has also been giving her Anatabloc. After her regularly scheduled appointment at Yale the Dr.’s couldn’t believe her blood tests and how well and healthy she looked and they asked “what are you doing differently” and inquired as to, “are you taking anything else, besides “Imuran”. She told them about the natural anti-inflammatory anatabine / Anatabloc that she had been taking for the last three-months. The rheumatologists had never heard of Anatabloc so they goggled it and became very interested in what they found and questioned her for about 15 minutes. The Dr.’s told her that she is now the “poster child” with regard to her MPA diagnosis for the disease. The Dr.’s discussed the case subsequently at their Round Table with other physicians and they are now seriously interested in the Anatabloc science. Her husband states that her recovery is “incredible.” Obviously this is anecdotal but – it is what it is – and I thought I’d send the story on to you.

$STSI - Goodbye Jonnie Williams. I can't wait to see where you pop up next.
Creative !!! "what if insurance companies said we will sign you up but you "should" (not MUST) take anatabloc for your own health. it would be in the insurance company's best interest. this would decrease their costs and keep premiums down while alot of us would not get ill or minimize the impact of existing disease. if 100 million of us did this where would stsi be?
marketing to insurance co. seems to me to be a faster track than trying to get doctors' attentions."
There are so many things. How about Anatabloc users wearing Anatabloc T-shirts and hats? How many walking billboards would you have? This is basic marketing 101.
How about anatabine for the entire E-cig industry???????????
Has anyone ever had Talhia respond to anything? Good LUCK !!!
A 'perfect storm' for inflammation - bacteria and fat - may promote diabetes
Monday 4 November 2013 - 12am PST
Mon 4 Nov 2013 - 12am PST
Making fat cells immortal might seem like a bad idea to most people, but for a team of University of Iowa scientists it was the ideal way to study how the interaction between bacteria and fat cells might contribute to diabetes.
The connection between fat, bacteria, and diabetes is inflammation, which is the body's normal reaction to infection or injury. Inflammation is beneficial in small, controlled doses but can be extremely harmful when it persists and becomes chronic.
"The idea is that when fat cells (adipocytes) interact with environmental agents -- in this case, bacterial toxins -- they then trigger a chronic inflammatory process," says Patrick Schlievert, Ph.D., UI professor and head of microbiology and co-senior author of a new study published in the journal PLOS ONE. "We know that chronic inflammation leads to insulin resistance, which can then lead to diabetes. So people are very interested in the underlying causes of chronic inflammation."
The UI researchers used immortalized fat cells to show that bacterial toxins stimulate fat cells to release molecules called cytokines, which promote inflammation. By immortalizing fat cells the UI team created a stockpile of continuously dividing, identical cells that are necessary for repeat experiments to validate results, explains Al Klingelhutz, Ph.D., UI microbiologist and co-senior author of the study.
Previous studies have shown that a toxin called lipopolysaccharide (LPS) produced by E. coli bacteria that reside in the human gut, triggers fat cells to produce pro-inflammatory cytokines, and this interaction has been proposed to contribute to the development of diabetes.
The UI team focused on a different bacterium, Staphylococcus aureus (staph), which appears to be important in the context of diabetes for two reasons. First, as people become obese and then progress into diabetes they become very heavily colonized with staph bacteria. Secondly, staph is the most common microbe isolated from diabetic foot ulcers, one of the most common and health-threatening complications of diabetes.
All staph bacteria make toxins called superantigens -- molecules that disrupt the immune system. Schlievert's research has previously shown that superantigens cause the deadly effects of various staph infections, such as toxic shock syndrome, sepsis, and endocarditis.
The new UI study shows that superantigens from staph bacteria trigger fat cells to produce pro-inflammatory molecules. Moreover, the study found that superantigens synergized with LPS from E. coli to magnify fat cells' cytokine responses, amplifying the inflammation, which could potentially boost the likelihood of developing diabetes.
"The E. coli that resides in our gut produces LPS and every day a small amount of this toxin gets into our circulation, but it is generally cleared from the circulation by the liver. However, people colonized by staph bacteria are also chronically exposed to superantigens, which shut down the LPS detoxification pathway," Schlievert explains. "That creates a synergy between the 'uncleared' LPS and the superantigen. All these two molecules do is cause inflammation and cytokine production. So in essence, their presence together creates a perfect storm for inflammation."
The findings suggest that by promoting chronic inflammation through their effect on fat cells, staph superantigens may play a role in the development of diabetes. In addition, the chronic inflammation caused by the superantigens may also hinder wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers. The ulcers, which affect 15 to 25 percent of people with diabetes, are notoriously difficult to heal and can often lead to amputation.
Why immortalize fat cells?
The UI team created immortalized fat cells for their research because primary fat cells (taken directly from fat tissue) are not very useful for lab experiments. Once the primary cells are grown in a dish, they quickly stop dividing and can't be used for repeated experiments. In contrast, the immortalized fat cells allow experiments to be repeated multiple times on identical cells ensuring consistent, reproducible results.
Klingelhutz and his team immortalized immature precursor fat cells by adding in two genes from HPV (the virus that causes cervical cancer) along with a gene for part of an enzyme that controls the length of cells' telomeres -- the pieces of DNA that protect chromosome tips from deterioration. These immortal precursor cells could then be "grown up" in petri dishes and differentiated into normal fat cells.
"The immortal fat cells are a great experimental tool that will allow us to investigate the mechanisms of the inflammation and allow us to test ways to potentially inhibit the response," says Klingelhutz. "That would be a goal in the future."

"PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- E-cigarette users can breathe a little easier today. A study just released by Professor Igor Burstyn, Drexel University School of Public Health, confirms that chemicals in electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) pose no health concern for users or bystanders. This is the first definitive study of e-cigarette chemistry, and finds that there are no health concerns based on generally accepted exposure limits. "
"You couldn't eat enough vegetables and fruit to get the amount of nutrients to be equivalent to even one Anatabloc lozenge. What you need to be selling is JUICE!"
That is why the last sentence is ridiculous. Someone made the following calculation:
13.38 Pounds of Fried Green Tomatoes
I know. It sounds like a movie sequel. Well, here's this: I went through it thinking I needed it today. For all those times (like in the "reviews") when someone says "I'll just eat lots of vegetables".
With regard to people who eat considerable solanaceae vegetables not needing to supplement, this just does NOT compute.
YOU CAN'T ... NO WAY ... get a meaningful amount of anatabine from vegetables.
Here's why:
From the company's own scientific literature is this I have excerpted about how much anatabine occurs in non-tobacco vegetables.
The Sponsor conducted a survey of commercial food plants [meaning vegetables, not manufacturing facilities], finding the highest minor alkaloid levels in green tomatoes, at a concentration of ... 16.5 µg/100g for anatabine.
So let's find out how much green tomato one would have to eat a day to get the equivalent of ONE Anatabloc.
Each Anatabloc contains 1mg = 1000mcg of anatabine. From above, one gets 16.5mcg of anatabine from each 100g of green tomatoes.
I divide 1000 by 16.5 to see how many 100g servings of green tomatoes I need to eat to get "an Anatabloc" worth of anatabine.
1000/16.5 = 60.6
So to get one Anatabloc's worth of anatabine I must eat 60.6 100gm servings of green tomatoes. So I must eat 60.6 x 100g = 6060g of green tomatoes for one Anatabloc's worth of anatabine.
There are approx 28.3 grams in each ounce, so I divide 6060g by 28.3. 6060/28.3 = 214 ounces of green tomatoes I must eat to get "an Anatabloc". FOLKS, there are 16 oz per pound, so 214oz/16 = 13.38 POUNDS.
Yes, folks, if you want one Anatabloc per day from the HIGHEST vegetable source, you'll have to eat 13.38 POUNDS OF GREEN TOMATOES A DAY. And they will make you VERY sick ... unless you fry or pickle them all, and probably even then ('cause you can't eat 13+ pounds of anything in a day).
Thanks It took 9 months of sending Mr. Euler information about Anatabloc. He did his homework. We all need to push. JD how about Twitter?

New Evidence that Inflammation
Causes Cancer — and an Exciting
New Anti-Inflammatory
If you've ever experienced aching joints… stuffy nostrils… skin eruptions… or asthma attacks…then you have firsthand knowledge of some uncomfortable effects of INFLAMMATION.
But the pain and discomfort are the least of your worries. Inflammation is a serious health risk. It can prevent your organs from functioning properly. In fact, it can actually destroy them.
Excessive inflammation from infections or health conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease has been linked to nearly 25 percent of all cancers!
But keep reading and I'll tell you a very promising new solution to inflammation. If the findings hold up, it will not only relieve your pain but help prevent some of the most threatening diseases.
Although specific health problems are often named after the body part where they occur—inflammation can affect almost any body part. It typically involves an influx of white blood cells followed by pain, heat, redness and swelling. The redness and swelling you get when you sprain a joint or cut yourself are symptoms of inflammation.
Inflammation is your body's immune response to infection, injury or irritation. When the infection or injury is healed, the inflammation should stop. But when you're constantly exposed to some cause of irritation like pollution, chemicals or unhealthy foods, the inflammation never stops and the damage becomes deep and permanent.
It can lead to the chronic diseases of aging like heart disease, diabetes, cancer and arthritis.
It sounds like a paradox, but chronic inflammation both causes these long-term health problems AND results from them. The disease gets worse because of the inflammation and the inflammation gets worse as the disease progresses.
A recent study from researchers at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center -- Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute found that inflammation causes a rise in levels of a molecule called microRNA-155 (miR-155).
An increase in the levels of this molecule has been associated with the development of leukemia, as well as breast, gastric and lung cancers.
What's more, the researchers found that when miR-155 levels increased, the proteins needed to repair DNA began to decrease. The results?
A higher rate of gene mutations which can lead to cancer.
And these results don't appear to be a fluke. Several published studies demonstrate a strong link between inflammation and cancer incidence. Some studies have shown that low levels of inflammation seem to indicate reduced cancer risk—and increased chances of survival.
Others have demonstrated that high inflammation levels indicate an increased cancer risk… impaired immune systems… and a higher resistance to some anti-cancer therapies.
These results have led some researchers to believe that levels of inflammation actually may predict a person's potential for surviving cancer.
My interpretation is that low-level inflammation indicates an immune system that's doing its job, while high-level inflammation indicates an immune system that overwhelmed and working overtime.
So what causes inflammation to occur in the first place?
Well, there are several common causes of inflammation.
Just take the foods you eat as an example. Here are some top offenders that can lead to chronic inflammation and health problems:
SUGAR—not only can excess sugar rot your teeth, but it also increases your risk of experiencing inflammation associated with chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and cancer.
OILS—vegetable cooking oils typically have very high omega-6 fatty acids, which promote inflammation and health disasters such as cancer and heart disease.
DAIRY—some estimates show that nearly 60 percent of the world's population cannot tolerate the lactose in dairy products! Milk and many other dairy products can trigger inflammation in your body. People of non-European descent have much high rates of lactose intolerance.
ALCOHOL—regularly consuming high quantities of alcohol can irritate and inflame your esophagus, larynx and liver. Such chronic inflammation becomes a breeding ground for cancerous tumors.
TRANS FATS—these darlings of the fast food industry are health assassins! They increase your levels of "bad" cholesterol and promote inflammation and obesity.
This list barely scratches the surface when it comes to foods that can trigger inflammation in your body. There are many other factors to consider as well, such as:
Environmental pollutants and toxins
Gum disease
Long-term illness
Obesity
Smoking
Stress
Don't give up the fight!
Considering all the common causes, it might seem hard to avoid inflammation. But the good news is this: there are just as many foods you can eat to help REDUCE inflammation in your body! AND there's a very promising new supplement.
In fact, modifying your lifestyle and diet, including food supplements, is one of the safest, lowest-risk things you can do to fight inflammation.
If you smoke—QUIT! If you eat lots of sugary, high fat foods—STOP!
But by all means do increase your intake of foods such as:
Fruits—berries, melons and citrus fruits are all great choices
Vegetables—squash, sweet potatoes and leafy greens make great choices to boost antioxidant levels
Beans, legumes and whole grains—these items provide plenty of healthy fiber. People who eat high fiber diets tend to experience less inflammation.
Spices—some of your best inflammation fighters are garlic, ginger, hot chilis, and turmeric
The most well-known supplements to reduce inflammation are proteolytic (protein-digesting) enzymes, oils such as fish oil and flaxseed oil that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and the spice turmeric or its active ingredient, curcumin.
But now there's another nutrient that may be a potential inflammation-stopper. It's a dietary supplement called Anatabloc®, produced by a Virginia-based company called Star Scientific, Inc.
Each tablet contains 1 milligram of anatabine base. This nutrient occurs naturally in plants such as tomatoes and peppers. It's known to reduce activity of a protein that causes inflammation.
Here's how they say it works…
First the anatabine in Antabloc® enters a cell. Once inside, it deactivates the protein called NFkB.
This prevents the NFkB from entering the cell nucleus—and triggering inflammation throughout your body.
The product is subject of an ongoing clinical trial, with two more scheduled to begin by the end of the year. But according to the company website, Anatabloc® already has shown significant anti-inflammatory effects in test tube and animal studies, and in human epidemiological studies of tobacco alkaloid exposures.
If this non-prescription supplement performs as expected, it could very well be a wonderful addition to a healthy diet and exercise regimen to help shield you from deadly inflammation! The big supplement chain GNC says Anatabloc is their most successful new product of the year.
Welcome aboard !!! Congrats on CRP !!!! Most people are clueless what their CRP is.
Hopefully you have done a GNC testimonial. Agree with your points. It amazes me that Dr. Weil's anti-inflammatory restaurant opens to such fanfare.....

Thanks I have tried to post four times and it says it is subject to reveiwer moderation.
People with Crohns, etc think that it is nicotine that is helping them when they smoke a cigarette. They cannot connect the dots to anatabine.
http://www.ihaveuc.com/anatabloc-helped-my-uc/
Maggie • September 3, 2013 at 7:51 am #
Thanks, Pawsman. I noticed Anatabloc has nicotine in it and that’s problably one reason why it helps. I used to be a smoker and since then, the last 4 years, I’ve been prescribed many meds and I have had bad reactions to them and can’t take them. I’m a little disappointed in the cost but I’ve spend hundreds on cigarettes and supplements and the supplements haven’t been of particular help. My biggest help so far is diet and spinach in particular but I’m getting tired of eating it! I’ve read other revues on Anatabloc on other sites that sounded good so your testimony has made me really want to try it! END
I have tried to post the following without success:
The main element in Anatabloc is anatabine. There is no nicotine in Anatabloc. It is anatabine that helps people with UC, IBS, Crohns, etc Not nicotine.
Anatabine is also a major element in tobacco. People smoke to curb UC, Crohns, etc. See this website.
People who smoke think that it is nicotine that helps them but really it is the anatabine in tobacco. When you smoke a cigarette you have 2 hours of anatabine in your system. When you take Anatabloc with 2 mg of anatavine you have 12 hours in your system. It is a pill !! Anatabine is nonadditive. When people say I am going to smoke a cigarette to "calm" down what they are talking about anatabine. All the "good stuff" comes from anatabine.
The cost of Anatabloc is approximately 26 cents a lozenger so it costs less than a cup of coffee per day.
