Yes I agree regulation is coming. But where is World Moto? Filing a 10Q isn't proof these guys are still in business. They have debts to note holders. But where are they operationally? If I want to buy a meter I can't. That's the issue here.
Sujitta
Yes that's me.
I was only pointing out Grabbike isn't even promoting a moto taxi service in Thailand.
Thank you for the rest of your PM. I wish I had the ability to travel there as often as you do!
A lot of things CAN happen. I'm still waiting for something TO happen.
It's always the government against the people. In this case the government (transport authority) is protecting the taxi union.
And yes of course the people want Grab and Uber.
Do you not know how to post a link here? I'm asking you to post the web address of the website you keep cutting and pasting verbiage from. I've read that verbiage. Several times now. It's on Grab Indonesia's website.
Please find that verbiage on a Grab THAILAND website and post the web address here.
Thailand suspended Grab almost a year ago. They are still operating but at a high cost
https://www.google.com/amp/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN16E17R
That disclaimer is from Grab Indonesia. Why do I have to keep saying this.
Find a link for Grab Thailand that says that and post it.
I've posted the links. You have not.
The Grabbike link you posted is a delivery service. Not a taxi service.
This is the site you are referring to -
https://www.grab.com/id/en/taxi/
It's in Indonesia and it doesn't mention bikes.
Sorry Cueva but a Grab website for bike taxis in Thailand using meters has never been posted here.
The only Grab website that has been posted here was for Grabtaxi in Indonesia. Grabtaxi is their car service.
If you have a link for Grabbike in Thailand that states they are using meters please post it.
I'm trying really hard not to say anything.
The meters were flawed? That's new to me. I've never heard their product didn't work.
Alien, what's your position to be here? I am invested in this company as is everyone else here. Most of us (90%?) are upside down and your comments can't change that.
You are available to this board day and night 7 days a week and essentially you're only function is to scold the board. What's the point? You aren't reaching anyone new here and you're telling the same people the same thing on a daily basis. I don't necessarily disagree with much of what you've said. Just seems futile.
Ok Cueva. Meters are the future.
Yes I posted that PR.
Yes. They are dependent on regulation and also at risk of technology outdating them.
You have to keep in mind Cueva the main issue isn't the meter. The issue is governments protecting the local taxi industry. Think about how strong the taxi union is in New York City where Uber is banned.
Many taxi drivers in Thailand and India have meters but they don't use them. The laws are not enforced there either. The issue is about protecting the local, registered taxi drivers.
World Moto signed the 10Q they filed last month.
The Thai government wants them to register as taxis. I did notice the guy in Joe's vid was wearing an orange jacket as is required. They also have to have yellow license plates.
Thailand shut down Grab and Uber May 2016.
Looks like they are still doing deliveries.

I haven't. Indonesia responded quickly to me but so far nothing from Thailand.
I've stated it here before. $20,000 USD. There are also others here with larger investments than mine.
The only way to accomplish that was to transfer ownership of his shares to another company three years after the the stock was issued?
Do you believe his comments to be true?
"He is a scientist and engineer - not a stock trader as evidenced by the fact that he hasn't sold a share of stock in his entire life".
I don't believe it's ever been discussed here that in October 2015 Chris transferred the ownership of his 41,000,000 World Moto shares to a company called Lucky Twins Ventures Co., LTD, giving control not only to himself but also to his wife Nutchanoot.
Why would an owner of World Moto transfer ownership of his shares to another company?
Just an FYI
BKK is the airport designation for Thailand's main International airport. It isn't an abbreviation for Bangkok.
DMK is Thailand's other main airport where you would catch domestic flights and flights to other SE Asian countries.
Safe to say significant sums of money have been invested and we are all being kept in the dark. Sums up our experience perfectly.
I would hope so. Being a digital yearbook and all.
I saw that Col.
Are we going to put a meter on him?
#GorillaMOTO
I understand your thought process. You post best case scenarios for this company but this company has so far to date never delivered a best case scenario.
If any news ever comes out that Uber has an interest in World Moto my guess is they would be purchasing an existing product. Not buying the company. Just like they purchased meters from Pulsar.
You previously posted that World Moto would need $100 million to get this company going. They were about $5 million in debt in 2015 when they announced they were ready for sales and production. Common sense tells me they wouldn't say they were ready for sales if they needed $100 million dollars. If they execute a contract they get paid upfront for production costs. From what you've posted here I know you know this stuff.
There's a lot of ifs in all of these conversations. Let's see if we ever hear from them again and go from there.
Did Uber buy Pulsar Technologies when it fitted those 150 cars in India?
Exactly.
That India PR stated they fitted 150 cars with meters.
Uber has run into regulatory issues all over the globe. In every case they have argued that they are not a taxi service and for the most part have been successful with it. Uber is valued at $68B. Their value is built on a concept that has antiquated a meter. This India deal, in my opinion, is just a blip in Uber's future. They haven't indicated that going backwards with meter regs is a strategy they are willing to implement.
All you have to do is read up on Uber. They are not interested in meters.
The latest press I read over the weekend is questioning them spinning out of control. They've recently lost many senior management.
Uber is aggressively fighting the rules. They want an exemption based on their claim they aren't taxi operators.
Grabbike and UberMoto have been shut down in Thailand for not being compliant with taxi regulations. In India, many states have instructed them to use meters if they want to operate there. Sri Lanka just passed a law that tuk tuks are required to use meters. Seems many SE Asian countries are making meter usage and registering as a taxi service a requirement to operate.
There is much speculation on this board pertaining to the answer to your question. I invested a large sum in this company 4 years ago and have been active here for 4 years as well.
World Moto's website went down about 2 months ago. They have made no phone number available to investors. They have not responded to any email inquiries in 4 months. They have not been active on social media in 4 months. They have not released any PR's in 11 months. They are 1 year behind with their SEC filings.
5 months ago they filed their 2015 10K. Last month they filed their 1st quarter 2016 10Q.
We have a poster here with a contact in Bangkok. He has informed us World Moto, using a distributor has around 25 Moto Meters that are currently being tested in Bangkok.
Without any communication from World Moto we are left speculating as to what is happening with this company. We know regulation is starting to pass in various countries mandating the use of meters and hope World Moto has some strategy to capitalize on it.
