Too bad David Crosby passed today, he was 81. Listened to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young a lot and still do.
How are you doing Joe? You old Philosopher you.... :D) How's Colorado weather? We're cold for AZ. Flagstaff, AZ got 3 ft. of snow this past week.
Find any decent places to eat up there in Colorado Springs? Not like San Francisco, but that was another time and place. We were on high street. Remember Elizabeth came to meet us?
Take care, don't be a stranger.

I want to invite everyone who has a beef to go over to the Yahoo Finance web page and go to the AMRN news. Yahoo provides a platform for adding comments to the news articles they put out. In particular, today they have two articles with the same subject Amarin Calls Activist Investor, Largest Shareholder Sarissa's Statement 'Inaccurate, Misleading'....
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amarin-calls-activist-investor-largest-170435522.htmlmakes
May as well make yourselves heard on a wider reaching platform. Yahoo "thought Police" are in force, so keep things professional. If you're really pissed off, I found a little trick. Run your words together so Yahoo keyword software doesn't pick up on words like Foockers, A$$h0les things like that.
mrm; I didn't want to interrupt, but go to marzan's post 398812. Apparently, last time Denner had 150 million shares ear marked for him. IDK where marzan got that number?
So many messages, so little time.
DAR; Just this morning I signed up with CenterWell Pharmacy (mail order), they're associated with Humana. For mail order scripts through CenterWell my 90 day script price for Vascepa will be $90. CVS walk-in costs $135 for 90 days. Every little bit helps nowadays.
Market is in a funk today, AMRN shares are about the only one thats "GREEN" today.
Ram; If this were the NFL and Amarin was an NFL Team, they'd be in the cellar every year. Or the team would be sold to another city. Replace everybody from Head Coach on down, we definitely need a new Quarterback and Offensive Coordinator... he he...:D)
djjaeger82;
Sounds like a broken record doesn't it? They didn't tell you anything you didn't already know, right?
Unbelievable, that they've given up on the Worlds largest drug market.... Oh Karim, let's throw in the towel, we're beat, let's move on. Okay Per OsWald...too funny! Tell that to Tylenol, Advil, whoever else.
Answer me this Karim, what have you got to lose? You friggin' moron!
Rose; My opinion only, but if we're dead set on selling the company then by all means my shares are with Denner. He's been there done that.
My thoughts on the US Market... at the vehemence of the "board of inquisition."
Get going on the Generic version of Vascepa in the US market pronto...promote the hell out of Vascepa and that it's the Gold Standard for the EPA supplements. Take back the market share that Vascepa deserves. Put out advertising that Lovaza and Generic V are crap. Or at least point out their deficiencies. It's all about advertising, not about vintage rock bands. Current Amarin management has done nothing in this respect. What are they waiting for? At least try to be competitive instead of doing nothing.
If you can't beat them, join them. "When you refuse to change with the environment you're in you'll go the way of the Dodo."
Tat; Agreed, fresh perspectives are always good. With Denner as their mentor.
I read a bio on Jack Welch (CEO of GE) the other day, pretty amazing the way he became so successful. He is considered the most influential CEO of the 20th Century. He is credited with "destroying capitalism."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Welch
Geez, would everyone please calm down....!!!! It doesn't do us any good to fight amongst ourselves. It's pointless to conjecture stock price, what the buyout price will be, what Denners plan is...blah, blah, blah.... Really? Think about this for a moment.
Combining all our shares (retail investors) isn't going to do squat for Denner to gain control and get Board representation. What? We may have upwards of 3 million shares represented here including all EPADI members? What's going to tip the balance is the Institutional Investors. Our future lies with them. We're a pimple on an Elephant.
Yes, we can scream all we want, "squeaky wheel gets the grease." But in the end, control of this company is out of our hands. The future of Amarin is in the hands of those major shareholders who hopefully will side with Denner. Put yourself in Denners place, what would you do to "wright the ship?" A lot of you have touched on some very good points such as US market (biggest drug market in the world)....Amarin's plan? Crickets. Denners Plan? Think about it? I know what I would do and pronto, but that's another Universe. Combo Pill, FDC? Nah, take too long to do clinical studies and get FDA approvals. Let whoever buys us do the heavy lifting. Fast track the Brave Study? Now we're talking. Put your money where it matters. What would it take to get this study fast tracked?
Referring to Amarin's PR this morning, lets dissect it for a second. Amarin mentions that Denner's previous board candidates were Junior Employees with 5 years experience. Do you believe or doubt Amarin's statement? If true, what does that say about Danners Plan? If not true, does it matter? Let's say for the sake of argument it was true, that his candidates weren't veterans, they were relatively inexperienced?
One has to start thinking like Denner to understand his plan. Stop the bleeding first, then cut out the dead wood. Do those things Amarin hasn't done over the past several years. Promote the crap out of your product. What's been lacking at Amarin for so long? Communication, performance based compensation, defending your product against false accusations. What else?
This in-fighting does us no good.
BTW, I finally put Kiwi on ignore after 10 years of listening to his drivel, how refreshing.... think about it?
GLTA,
Nuke
CBB; Amarin did this last proxy vote. I forget the name of the firm they hired but I distinctly remember they called me personally. The person I talked to was very persuasive that I vote YES for the new directors and the Pay package. I also remember Alex Denner wanted shareholders to vote "Abstain." I initially voted Yes for the new Directors and the Agenda. Then I went back later before the deadline and changed my vote to Abstain. Knowing then what I know now is night and day. I'm going to wait and see what the Proxy says first then vote my shares with Denner. My question is; who drafts the wording in the Proxy? Is it Denner or Amarin? Last time Amarin drafted the Proxy. Guess I'll have to wait until the Proxy comes out. I'm sure it will be deceptive as hell if Amarin Drafts it. They're scumbags.
Oneragman: I posted this last night here on Post # 398587. Go read the article, it's quite interesting.
Nuke the Spook
DAR, I'm confused, I get confused easily. I'm going to call my Humana Rep, he may know.
As for my script Price, it's $45 for 120 capsules through Humana, filled at CVS. I'm going to check and see if mail order is cheaper.
GLTY on Medicare Advantage, it's too late this year as you missed the cutoff (December 7th, 2022). If you're retiring this year, you may be able to enroll in an Advantage Plan from the get go?
Lizzy; before I lose my brain of thought :D) (train). I stopped by CVS to check on my Prescription of Vascepa, remember the 100 days script.
Well, Humana won't allow 100 day only 90 days. I did verify that my "out of pocket" for a 90 day script of Vascepa would be $135. This would be my 1st script price for 2023. In the past it's been around $560 which took care of my deductible. So, I'm good with it.
Secondly, I'm on Medicare Advantage Plan (Humana). I thought I was saving $200 per month by going on the Medicare Advantage Plan. Not True.... I'm paying $172 for the Medicare Advantage Plan which includes my supplemental and drug plan. I caught this when I received my latest SSA check. My SSA check was $172 less this month (January) than December 2022 check. So, I figure it was to pay for the Advantage Plan. So, instead of BCBS getting he Premium and taking their cut, I'm paying Uncle Sam. I'm still saving $28 a month, just enough for a 6 pack and a Cheese Pizza.
IDK, maybe it's a wash, my brother told me that SSA is paying higher amounts this year because of inflation factors? So, I may not be saving anything?
abka, your broker Fidelity should be notifying you of when the Proxy voting materials will be available. If Fidelity doesn't then beware of a 3rd party scam. Last time Amarin contracted out an independent (wink, wink) 3rd party to insure people cast their votes. Beware of this scam. As Amarin will no doubt be paying this 3rd party entity to talk you into voting your shares contrary to your desires.
Rose; it did say 21 - 28 days max to call a Special Meeting. As this responsibility is with Amarin to call the meeting. Not sure who puts their feet to the fire if they don't schedule one in a timely fashion?
Thank you TalShu, all the more reason to get this show on the road. Get Denner in to clean house.
I’m not surprised one bit by what you wrote. Totally Amarin Management’s inability to capitalize upon an opportunity.
Tells me Amarin Management has been milking us (shareholders) for years with no accountability for their actions.
Good luck to you in the future.
Nuke
Bravo Sleven, it's a start, we'll have to keep working on you... :D)
I'd say, appoint Alex Denner Chairman, then he can weed out the ones he doesn't want.
Evaporate? maybe...huh?
Almost forgot, Mike Ditka was good for the "Da Bears" Maybe the Cards need a Mike Ditka type. Tom Coughlin has my respect however.... :D(
Coughlin, who led the Giants to two Super Bowl victories before leaving his last coaching job in 2015, spent the last several years as his wife's primary, full-time caregiver.Dec 15, 2022

Maybe I'll give Mikey a call?
Of course Michael Bidwill (Cardinals owner) is too cheap to hire a really good coach.
No problemo Sleven, at least we have something in common. We're both investors and it's our money we're talking about. Wanting to be financially secure is definitely my goal. Being Greedy to the point of ludicrous is not.
I don't imagine these folks PWO and Denner included have much of a family life. They're probably both stretched paper thin. Making all that money and figuring out ways to make more probably keeps them up at night. That's not for me.
I do know one thing, I've been in this investment way too long. For what all the investors have been through, at the end of the day when we reflect are we going to ask ourselves, was it all worth it?
You gotta ask yourself, with one drug in their pipeline (awesome as it is). "Watcha gonna do when they come for you." line from COPS....
Sleven, since it appears you're the Head Cheerleader for the Amarin Management Team. I thought I'd post an article about Per Wold Olsen. just to kind of level the playing field. I wouldn't want to talk about one side without talking about the opposite side.
Not counting Amarin Chairman of the Board position; I count at least five (5) Companies that PWO is either an Advisor, Director or COB.
An excerpt from the following article struck me as being impudent and disrespectful to shareholders in general. His arrogance really shows through. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Per Wold Olsen's Number #1 fan is himself. With Amarin being number #6 on his list of companies he works for. Do you really think he gives a Rat about Amarin and particularly the shareholders? Who he probably detests as being irrational.
https://www.russellreynolds.com/en/insights/podcasts/stepping-up-to-the-leadership-challenge-qa-with-per-woldolsen
Here's an excerpt on how he feels about shareholders; Words out of his own mouth.
"This is not the time to be overly concerned about shareholders, it's the time to be overly concerned about your employment base and making sure that your leadership team stays focused on doing the right things." Is he talking bout USins? Last time I looked shareholders are the owners, not management or directors.
How about this one;
"In many of the companies we see voluntary salary reductions, significant impacts on bonus payouts and so on." Except for Amarin of course..in the case of Amarin, where bonuses are given freely without impunity for no accountability or specific Performance goals.
PWO has carved out some nice packages for himself. I wonder how much time he really spends on improving things at Amarin.
Check out PWOs salary just at Gilead; check out his connections, think he had any say in selecting current board members like Zueleta perhaps? How about our real buddy Lars "Dead Wood' Eckman? Heck, PWO only made $449,973 in total compensation at Gilead alone. How many pies does PWO have his fingers into? Think he gives a Rat about Amarin and it's "One Trick Pony?"
https://www.erieri.com/executive/salary/per-wold-olsen-41ub
Sleven, I know who Sanofi is, I read the article. My question was who or whom at Sanofi was allegedly supposed to have approached Denner & Posner?
Thanks,
I like it; Blaze Trial vs Brave Trial. Like in Trailblazers? As long as the Univ of Wisconsin doesn't refer to Vascepa as fish oil then I'm good with it. They've (university) been put on notice about the use of the term fish oil. .
Interesting; So, Arnold&Porter are lawyers, probably looking to make a quick buck. So, allegedly, Sanofi (who at Sanofi?) approached Alex Denner and Brian Posner. Where and at what event? Dinner? Golf? It's important to disclose who or whom from Sanofi approached Denner & Posner. It could have been the janitor, who knows? Was this conversation with Sanofi they allegedly had, material information that should have been shared by Denner & Posner? Or was it a conversation between two parties? Who or what entity was privy to this conversation? My take is where did this conversation take place? Sounds Very subjective to me?
"Smart move on Denners part."
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Insider trading is the buying or selling of a publicly traded company's stock by someone who has non-public, material information about that stock.
Material nonpublic information is any information that could substantially impact an investor's decision to buy or sell the security that has not been made available to the public.
This form of insider trading is illegal and comes with stern penalties including both potential fines and jail time.
Insider trading can be legal as long as it conforms to the rules set forth by the SEC.
"Directors have fiduciary duties of loyalty and care to the company and its stockholders
Duty of loyalty. You must put the interests of the company and its stockholders over your own personal interests in making decisions for the Company and evaluating opportunities. This includes not taking opportunities that arise for yourself before offering them to the company, and not divulging or using company confidential information for personal gain."
The above excerpt doesn't sound like anything current Amarin Board of Directors and Management have towards the shareholders or company for that matter. Awarding themselves for non-performance...Really?
Go to DOGN's Post 378091, interesting from May 2022. Doesn't mention the relationship, just says AD and PWO were on Gileads BOD. No Proxy fight was necessary for Denner to get board representation.
So in essence; Insurance Companies, Doctors, Clinicians, Pharmacists et al; are poisoning people by prescribing Generic. And the medical community sits idly by and allows this to happen? Incredible.
Yes, I never read it, but it was his opinion on religion and deism (Who is God?). He was castigated for his stance on religion. In todays world he would have been given the Nobel Prize for Literature. They say when he died only a few people attended his funeral.
My how far have we digressed in our educational system. Thomas Paine (American Revolution Pamphleteer) an excerpt from Common Sense wrote; "A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right" Portrays what we're seeing with Amarin management. The following document was written in 1776 for the common people. It's amazing as it reads like something a lawyer would write, yet the folks in those days were able to read and comprehend this style of writing without a problem. Amazing.
"Common Sense" by Thomas Paine, January 1776

If we as Amarin shareholders can't make the tough decisions then there's no one to blame but ourselves.
Nice try oneragman; sometimes you just can’t convince people no matter how hard you try.
Yeah whatever. See you in a couple months, thank god.
Lizzy, sorry to hear your Vikings lost to the Giants. They were really good this year too. I was half-heartedly cheering for them. Patrick Peterson played for the Cardinals.
I'm actually rooting for the Bills. The Boy I Like Losing Super Bowls guys. Hard luck team. Four times to the Big Show, no cigar.
Your comment motivated me to do some research;
https://www.snopes.com/disclosures/
Any association with the media makes Snopes suspect IMHO.
One faction says no, we say it isn't so.....
The other says, here's our take on that matter....
Who really knows the truth?
My favorite part of Medicare is where people like you still working and paying taxes to support people like me.
Pretty soon it'll be 2:1 Workers supporting retirees. That's why we need Denner to sell Amarin for $20 + bucks a share. Then I can Triple dip. Get my SSA checks, pension and an annual RMD. What's not to like.
BTW, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_employers and that's not counting all the other Departments in the Federal Government....Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security, IRS, Social Security.... should I go on?
Between India and China about 3 Billion people combined. the United States with about 1/10th the size has by far the biggest payroll of any government.
The answer is; "the Government needs more money so they can become the biggest employer in the world."
You're right though, it's always the little guy that can't hire a good tax attorney to do their taxes.
I'm guessing with my "windfall" profits from Amarin, I'll be targeted for sure once I start pulling my RMDs at age 72. Sure wish I'd funded my Roth IRA more. Of course I made some stupid moves with my Roth....unbelievable.
ORBAPU; Looks like the IRS will be coming after me since I'm retired and make less than $75k a year.
"Never believe a politician especially when they have their mouths in gear."
From "SNOPES" mouth to Gods ear. It's gotta be true then if Snopes said it?
Who are you gonna believe? I guess when the IRS Goons come for you, then you'll know?
ramfam; yeah no kidding right? The reporter does his best to cast doubt about Amarin share price even when it's gone up 80% in the past weeks? Really?
Take no advice from this reporters article as he ends it in a negative. A sure sign of an article aimed at short investors. Pure bogus article.
Lizzy; I don't agree with this part of the following possible side effects of icosapent ethyl?
I've never experienced any of these side effects with Brand Vascepa. Just the opposite as a matter of fact.
The most common side effects of icosapent ethyl include:
• Muscle and joint pain.
• Swelling of the hands, legs, or feet.
• Constipation
• Gout
• Heart rhythm problems (atrial fibrillation).
These are not all the possible side effects of icosapent ethyl. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Of course I'm speaking to the choir.
raf; this just illustrates why Amarin management has to go. Doesn't matter if it is a whole new BOD and CEO.
How many times have the shareholders been disappointed in Amarins Inaction to things most people would not stand for.
How hard would it be to put out a PR on just the Inactive ingredients on what Lizzy has provided and compare it against what the Vascepa Bottle label? It's hard to refute facts. Corporations do it all the time, just look at FORD and GM? The toolbox trick by GM probably sold an additional 20,000 pickup trucks.
How hard would it be to have sponsored/supported Marjac at the EPADI Appeal? Especially when the EPADI effort was group funded?
This Amarin team has to go, the sooner the better.
Lizzy, don't get me started....first order of business for the Republican House is to fire all 87,000 IRS new hires. Over half of which were private contractors, because they couldn't find enough qualified people....what a crock!
Hiring more liberals to support the Democrats in office, just like the Illegals entering our borders.
