It almost seems like a "Rite of Passage" or "initiation" when a company moves to the big boards. It also seems like the shorts and traders who "live" on the big boards see us coming and take us retail folks as "easy targets".I may be wrong but that is what it "feels" like.
Kelt
So far I'm 6 for 6 (not counting ANY).All biotechs and all had a period of quiet after the uplisting.(Seems like they all want to get a "feel"for the new landscape before getting back to business as usual).
Kelt
It's been my experience with every otc stock that I'm in or watching that has made the uplist move, they have all gone down initially.(I should learn from that and "trade" accordingly)
Kelt
If you check out their PR history prior to 1/2014 I think you'll see that they were quite informative with the shareholders as well as providing updates with HTFBS.
IMO what happened was that they were making themselves so "attractive" that the possibility of a "hostile takeover" was becoming a real issue.Hence they "Certified" the BOD and started keeping developments off the radar presumably until safer to disclose to shareholders.
Not reporting "Bad news" opens them up to lawsuits "up the wazoo",so I don't see anything negative being withheld IMO.Just trying not to look like a "sitting duck/buyout bait"at these valuations. That leads me to think that when they do release news,it will be fast and substantial and boost the SP into a higher orbit and out of the realm of "takeover country".
Just my humble opinion.
Kelt
I appreciate your confidence and your posts but without any verifiable means to validate your statements or your "connections" it is like a guy on a street corner telling me "trust me,trust me,trust me".
I wish you could somehow substantiate things.
(Respectfully)
Kelt
Now I would think XXII would "throw a bone" out there to perk things up a little, leading into next week's "festivities".BWDIK.
Kelt
Well,fun while it lasted :)
Kelt
MM's probably helping protect the shorts with the huge spread while trying to figure things out.If price spikes they (shorts) are royally screwed (IMO).Checkmate :)
Kelt
Does someone know something they're not sharing??? :0
Kelt
OK,what's going on with the "Ask"? TD showing $44.78?????
Kelt (not that I'm complaining!!)
Won't get any from me.My thoughts also. When it comes to "Big Boys" and "Big Money",we are only "pimples on their butts".They will try to shake us off and the ones who remain will go along for the ride.
I say be ready for whichever way it goes after the uplist.
Kelt
Thanks Etradeedge.Hoping to be around more as my recovery increases.
Kelt
I'm not an options player but I have noticed with other companies that when the option expiration day approaches (today ?)and the options are "at" or "near the money",there seems to be a lot of effort to push the SP down so the options will expire worthless.Do you see that playing any part in this week's SP activity?I haven't checked XXII's option chain so I could be way off base.Appreciate your thoughts.
Kelt
Thanks for the well wishes everyone.Hopefully by mid June I should be getting back to some resemblance of a "normal life" and back to doing the things I enjoy doing without restrictions. It has been difficult keeping up with the time frames of the upcoming expected milestones with CTIX so anyone who can share that it would be greatly appreciated. My email is shamus_james@yahoo.com
I will have my laptop in the hospital so anyone who wants to say hi I should be "coherent" by Thursday.
Dr's won't let me hang a bottle of Balvenie on the IV pole so I'll have to deal with "clear liquids"and hospital fare until I get home.
Thanks again!!
Kelt
Welcome to Dry Gulch ghost town.
I for one see nothing wrong with Etrade's posts.I have known him for a long time and I have to say he is honest about his opinions. Some may disagree with him but tough titties, get over it.We're all entitled to our "honest"opinions.Everyone on this board has had their "day" of being wrong.Go after the real bashers.
KELT
They don't need MSA to produce. They need it to sell in the US.They can produce and sell overseas anytime they want.(US market is tiny compared to the world market)
Relax
Kelt
You are so right. It costs a lot of money to buy votes these days ;).Once Gov't has a revenue source they don't let go of it.
Kelt
Very well said.I ,for one, appreciate your TA and the time you spend
explaining it on the board here.
Although I have to take it in context in the "here and now"with what current events and expected events are present,it is a valuable tool.Just like any tool in the toolbox it has it's time of need. All tools are valuable in their own time.(Hammers can't cut wood, etc.)
Although "pie in the sky",I look at the potential of this phase in comparison with ICPT and their run up.TA would be out the window. But that's not the purpose of TA.We need to be mindful of the possibilities even though they may not happen. But they can.
Keep sharing your TA.No one is perfect but keep in mind that there will always be adversarial people no matter how "perfect" you become.
Kelt
(OT)It all depends on the individual IMO.Just like alcohol, some can drink for decades(as I)and quit cold turkey with no ill effects. Some can drink for a short time and become hopelessly addicted.I know many using MJ with no issues yet a couple in my college days had to drop out for psych reasons as they became paranoid about "everything".Maybe a small % but still "unknown"effects until one "partakes".There is a risk in everything. Some things are worth the risk, some are not.To each their own.
Kelt
Let's see,,Shareholder Mtg moved to April (earlier voting on classified BOD),,News that is known but not released has a "lid" on it,,,No PR on shareholder mtg,,,Nothing on China trip,,,takeover rumors,,,
Seems to me that there is some serious stuff brewing behind the scenes (I think in a good sense).Hence the quiet news cycle.
Normally Mgt.is forthcoming with news and transparent. This is not their style.
This pressure cooker could blow soon.
Kelt
No "fluff" PR's from MGT so they don't seem to be sweating it.So neither am I :)

From Pat Cox's weekly alert.
Thought you might be interested.
"Galectin Therapeutics Phase 1 Safety Trial Shows Dramatic Effects in Liver Disease
First of all, you need to watch the entire presentation, which was given by Galectin Therapeutics CEO and CMO Dr. Peter Traber. Traber, as you know, is president emeritus and ex-CEO of Baylor College of Medicine. He was also senior vice president of clinical development and medical affairs and chief medical officer of GlaxoSmithKline.
This is the link for the PDF that is used in the presentation. Everything you need to know is there but it’s good to have Traber clarifying the charts. As of now, you can access the recorded presentation by clicking onthe link on the company’s main page.
The link is in the center “Highlights” section and is titled, “View Galectin Therapeutics’ webcast discussing first cohort results of Phase 1 clinical trial of GR-MD-02 in NASH.” Click on it, register, and stream the presentation. Years from now, you can tell your grandkids that you were watching when fibrosis, a condition that prematurely killed a huge percentage of the population, was made a minor and treatable problem.
If that weren’t enough, the company’s cancer trials are set to start at any time. By the time this alert shows up in your inbox, they may be under way. The scope of this platform, which blocks galectin-3s, is vast.
Just as I predicted that the data released in the presentation would be positive, I’m predicting that the cancer trials will also prove more than successful.
As Traber says several times in the presentation, the results in the first cohort of eight patients were better than he expected. I won’t go into great detail about them because the presentation covers the data so completely, but I will say this: At a dose about one quarter of that which is optimal in animals, this phase one safety study showed improvement in the first cohort that would justify releasing the drug even at suboptimal doses.
Markers of inflammation and fibrosis in the six patients suffering fatty liver disease improved across the board. More importantly, the two patients suffering from the most advanced form of NASH, with associated liver cell death due to fibrosis and inflammation, showed significant reductions in the markers that indicate apoptosis or cell death. This, in one hyphenated word, is world-changing.
It means that the drug, even at low doses that proved safe in this study, reduced the markers of disease progression in earlier stages of the disease. In advanced patients, we saw indications that cellular damage was significantly ameliorated. This means the drug is disease-modifying. It didn’t only prevent worsening. It improved the patients’ condition.
Remember, this short test was at about one quarter of the dose shown optimal in animals. The only thing the company had to prove to move forward was that the compound was not unsafe, and they’ve done that and more. The second cohort can therefore be given higher doses, and I fully expect that efficacy will improve. It will also expand the sample size and strengthen the statistical confidence level of total data.
Almost nobody expected this kind of result. Behind the scenes, I’ve heard that the big companies that had signed NDAs with Galectin Therapeutics were not anticipating signs of efficacy at all. They’ve got to be seriously reassessing right now.
Fortunately for investors who want to increase holding, the stock has not responded to this information. This isn’t surprising because this is new and complicated science. Also, there’s been a concerted effort by the usual suspects to scare traders off this company. I don’t know their motives but this act can’t go on much longer, at least not with any level of credibility.
My only regret about this study is that it’s not doing biopsies. They can’t, though, because biopsies have significant medical risks. Moreover, they are famously unreliable because the tissue samples taken in biopsies are very small. Fibrosis, however, can vary greatly across different regions of a single liver.
My big question is not, however, directly related to liver disease. Theoretically, we know that galectin-3 blockers would also be beneficial for pulmonary fibrosis and other fibrotic diseases, such as my Dupuytren’s contracture. The Wikipedia entry has a list of conditions that should be treatable using this drug candidate or some variation.
Also, of course, cancers are revealed to the immune system when their galectin-3 shields can no longer shut down T cells. In the not-too-distant future, we’ll be able to scan for impacts on all those conditions non-invasively. Today, we can only speculate that multiple fibrotic diseases and cancers are being impacted beneficially in the test patients by the Galectin Therapeutics drug candidate. This compound is, therefore, a natural for many off-label uses."

One word.Anticipation.
Not expecting "ICPT" results but nevertheless hoping for it.Great company.Great results.Great future expectations.
When the news came out (news was great)it was not the "moon shot" some had hoped for.Traders, who got in to sell on the news dumped and ran.Shorts may have played a part also but the SP held quite well considering all the selling.Phase 2 will likely give more bang for the buck.I would not be surprised to see (after the dust settles) the SP return to it's high and even more so soon.
MLV not only reiterates their "Buy" rating but also raised their price target to $27 from $20.
Don't discount the news here.It was not "mundane",it was fabulous, just not what investors were looking for.If investors were Dr's and scientists, the SP would be in the $30's.
Once again, sellers have tossed aside a raw 10ct diamond while chasing quartz crystals. To each their own.
Kelt
I've seen this sort of reaction with a couple of other biotechs releasing very good news and little fanfare. Many investors, small as well as big are not scientists and have to digest the news and decipher it before they can react.Right now they don't know what or how big this is.(Hint,,,very early show of efficacy here is HUGE)
Kelt
I may be wrong but I think that the "Bigger Boys" were looking to buy at $3.20 levels yesterday but retail investors got "excited" again and drove the SP to where the MM's just waited for the buying pressure to fizzle then promptly dropped the SP back to the closing SP.
Any other thoughts?
Kelt
The last 2 weeks appear to be the "softening of the beach heads" and today's action looks like the actual "invasion".
To me it appears to be the finale.

Volume slowing down again.See what happens with the "lunch crowd".Who's taking lunch today (11:30-1:30),Buyers or Sellers?

If I could count on it I could still accumulate a nice chunk of shares :) Can't argue with your logic, Shalom.
(I bought all mine @ $2.17) :)
PS I warned people about Margin back when this was over $6/share

MM's reloading their inventories for the next Bull stampede.

Pepsi's right Tom.I hear you though.

Listening to "Board chatter" both pro and con by posters who some "long time longs" do not know well enough is entertaining but trust and familiarity takes time.Just because someone says something does not make it "so".Some of us watch for track records and that takes time.Don't take things personal (if the shoe fits). It's the "long time longs" who some of us are familiar with who are being referred to in regards to "20-20 hindsight".No ill will intended towards anyone.Just because someone says something doesn't mean there isn't an "agenda" being followed. That takes time to discern.
Kelt
I agree with your thoughts Pete.I was almost ready to pull the sell trigger in the $6 range and should have followed my gut instinct. There always seems to be 20-20 hindsight after an event like this which tells me that there are very few (if any) who really know or understand who is doing what and why.
I may be wrong but the SP may fall into the $4's however I don't think they'll stay there because of the institutional needs.
Lots of manipulation going on which means the SP right now is "fake" and will have to recover to the "real" price range when these charades are over.IMO shares have been tightly held by retail investors and if institutions want "in" they will buy regardless of what the SP is up to a point. With the upside in XXII that "point" is probably more than we think.
I think MM's are just accumulating shares to make a killing when the institutions do start buying. The Inst.'s know what is going on here and are just waiting for the MM's to finish their "dirty work" and then they'll buy. They also know what news is in the pipeline in the imminent future which will drive the price up so I don't think they'll wait to buy "on the news" but before the news. How many shares the MM's have accumulated will depend on how many "Longs" succumb to the pressure and sell.(and I don't see very many doing that right now)
Kelt
I don't think they want to keep the SP below $5 because of the institutions and their buying requirements.
Kelt
I saw bids of 1500 to 2500 from $4.95 to $5.05 at the close. My guess is that is where the MM's are taking us before they are bottomed out.It seems that they are trying to find sellers in that range to fill those.(of course the bids will jump to 5-7K when the price hits the bid)
Just my observation.
Kelt
Looks like MM's are having a little difficulty getting traction this morning. :)
Kelt
Almost looks to me like the "weaker" shares/stops have been absorbed.
