Well the last snow fall we had, I told Orin to take the SUV, but nope he took the Civic, that's front end is about 7 inches off the ground. They closed his school early at 1 PM that day, and it took him 3 hrs to get home... Last night he was going to take the SUV today, but now has the day off... I guess to the south of us they are going to get much more... I'm sure Jacki will pull threw this just fine. However yesterday it started bleeding. I found all these drops of blood, all over. The trail lead to Jacki. I could not put pressure on it because the tumor is too vascular, so I just held a tissue over it, but it would not clot, so I just left it alone, it finally clotted. This morning her whole left shoulder was covered with dried blood, so she must have laid on it, an it started to bleed again. I told the surgeon over the phone yesterday, that I could grab the tumor and feel behind it, so I felt it had not yet invaded towards the skull. He call me on my way back from Milwaukee and said that is exactly what her also felt on pre surgical exam. The only concern now is, has the cancer invaded the Lymph Node of the area of that ear, which is very near the Tumor. If it has, 6 months or a year from now, there is a good chance it will spread to the Lung or Liver, or both... Fingers crossed...
Hi trax. Orin got an automated call last night that his school is closed today. The flakes that are coming down, are very fine. Just got back from dropping Jacki off for her ear surgery. North of downtown Milwaukee, if was like a rainy mist, once I got south of downtown, it started to snow.. and once I got int Racine, it was really sticking to all roads..
I Loved reading Animal Farm..... What a Great Concept...
Turner is totally Zonked out. I gave him 100 mgs of Tramadol for pain, plus sedation factor for the night.
Turner is under my covers, and it is so interesting that all, and I mean All, of the rest of the dogs are staying totally away from my bed right now.
Normally there are 3 dog's in my bed, regardless if I am there or not, but they seem to know that Turner is there, and he is not felling well....
That is Just Amazing, on how they pick up on that......
But I bet when I go to Bed, I will hear foot steps coming my way.... 3 dog's at least.... I think the rest are just waiting for me to give them Permission to come to bed.... Talk about SPOILED... {:>)))
well, I just changed the sock I put on an hr or so ago. It was Blood soaked. Turner cried, and pulled back, but did let me change it.
Later, he was sleeping on MY bed, head on MY pillow... so a few min's ago, I went into my bedroom. pulled the cover back, and tucked him under... What a Treat for Turner {:>)))
Normally I don't let him sleep in the bed because he wants to be totally smashed up against my body, and it just get's tooooooo Warm, but tonight I think I will make an exception, and I will get No sleep....... {:>)))
Now I really screwed up. I totally forgot that Turner has a injured toenail.
Fed the dog's late. Turner wanted to go out, so I let him out with his Dad Chance.
Well they ran around in the yard. Then they were barking at the patio door. I went to the door and saw Blood all over it.. Bingo, I put 2 and 2 together...
Had to call Orin downstairs, on his Cell, to come up and help me put a Sock on Turners foot. I know when a nail get's that badly damaged, they normally take a Pliers, and just pull it off. It will regrow again. We had this happen once before. So for now Turner has a sock on his foot. How I could forget about his foot ? I guess my mind is all consumed about Jacki right now... I feel It's like Child Abuse. Please don't Report me..... We will get this Fixed tomorrow.... one way or another...{:>)))
It's my, and the Dog's SUV... and I don't care... bottom line... I am a Farm Boy now,,,,, either you Hitch a ride with me, or call a Cab.... {:>)))
Orin often at times says, "I point out too many things that he does wrong"... my response is, "sometimes people that are Smart, just don't think about the simple things." Simple is easy, or at least it is to me... I can't tell you, over the last 10 yrs, how I have shown Orin how to place dishes in a dishwasher... It's not Fuzzy Math... He just does not get it, and I have to rearrange everything in the dishwasher all the time.....
Oh Janice, I live the life of a Farm Boy now... I was a City Boy, but now a Farm Boy... Orin is still a City Boy....
However, the other day when we got 8 inches of snow, I told, not asked Orin, told him to take the truck, well, he took the Honda Civic. That car is like 8 inches off the ground in the front end...Not Good for Plowing Snow....
Well Orin got home, just as I finished plowing the driveway... Dressed to the 9's... Orin got out of the Civic, Suite on, $100.00 shoes on, ( Imelda Marcos has nothing compared to Orin, as far as a shoe Collection goes.) I looked at him and said, " are you Crazy." Like I was his Mother. This should have been a Blue Genes and Tennis shoes day, all that snow, combined with salt, Oh, those Leather shoes are just going to Love that.... UGGgghhhh
I rarely have people in the SUV, almost never.... I can only think of 2 people that have been in it since last summer. My best friend John, and Trax.....
I forgot to mention, it's just my front passenger seat, as the back seat is covered with a blanket.....
I know Mom, I know.... {:>))
that's what I have in the basement, can't remember the name, but it's the kind of spray that once sprayed on, the stain just goes away...
Well, it's a 2007. It's the dog vehicle. So it's no biggie to me. I have spray and wash type of cleaner. Come springtime I will give it a try...
No Leather in this SUV.... Cloth.... errrrrrr
So I get in the SUV. I decide to take Breezy and her almost 3 yr old son Turner with, Whippets, as I try to give all the dog's their turn going for rides. I go to a Gas Station. Pump the Gas, get back in the SUV, and there is Blood all over the place... Somehow Turner ripped a toe nail, almost sideways... Time to play Doctor again..... Good thing Blood does not bother me.... {:>)))
Lately, Jacki's new favorite treat is Ice Cubes... She Loves them... LOL
It's those eyes and tail wagging. It kills me... It's such a rare type of Cancer to have, but we will deal with it.... {:>)))
I'm sure it will be a good outcome Flo. I just called the Surgeon's office right now, and scheduled Jacki procedure for this coming Tuesday morning...
Thanks janice... {:>))
It's those eyes, and that happy wagging tail that get's to me Gmenfan...
Orin and I made a decision about Jacki last night.
We decided to go ahead with the next surgery, in which they will extract the whole inner canal, or what is now left of Jacki's ear at this point. They will leave the outer ear for Cosmetic reasons, so you will not even know that under that ear, there is nothing....
Over the past few day's, as I have been cleaning the ear, and I am now noticing that the tumor is spreading. It breaks my heart to see this. I see those Loving eyes, that stubby tail wagging when she looks at me.
Jacki is almost 10, and at that age she might only have 2-4 yrs left, but we need to give her that chance. Now if the Tumor was inside of her body, and the odds of recovery were not that good, it would be a different story, because at least I can't see it... The Vet assured me that the odds of Jacki becoming Cancer Free, from this type of rare Cancer is excellent...
The Surgeon is off till Monday, so I am waiting on a call...
Got in this morning at 4.50 . How could I resist such a Deal in the PPS... {:>))
Beauty of a scene. Very heavy/wet snow. I have a few bushes that are bent over, toughing the ground.
Oh Gemnfan. So sorry to hear this. 16 yrs is a nice long life that your Becca had. I do feel you sorrow....
Thanks Flo. Prior to Jacki Cancer issue I noticed changes in her body. Muscle loss, hair loss. I can see her spine, ribs, hip bones, yet she was not really loosing weight at all, none at all ??? Increased thirst, counter surfing for more food, and more things that match the condition I was thinking about. I tested her Blood for Diabetes with my meter, but that was not it ????
I did not put 2 and 2 together a few months back. Jacki has what's called Cushing Disease now... Which can make fighting infections, and recovering from Surgery's even tougher... It can be a common disorder with older dogs.... So this is kind of a double Whammy for Jacki... {:>((( http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/endocrine/c_dg_hyperadrenocorticism#.USf33TGFx2E
My dog's were just glued to my computer. They were so interested in the chirping noise the frog was making...
So far, I have only used the snow blower once this season.
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.
Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine or feline attendance is not required.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:
To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3. Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a "gazillion" dollars for college. And finally...
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.
Wow that really is... {:>))
Speed wise, oh yes... see Flo, I do know what that means....{:>))
I love the Samsung because it was the only screen that is glass when I got it. No I do not use the touch screen at all, all that reaching, my arm would be worn out. Most all in 1's have the gut's of the computer behind the screen, which I was told, because of the heat, in time could burn out the screen. This Samsung has a small base the screen sits on, and that the motor of the computer. My screen is about 3/4 of an inch thick. The glass actually stands out from the surrounding frame which is about 1/4 of an inch surrounding the glass. I had tried a Dell all in 1. The screen was like all of the rest, some type of plastic. The screen was set into the frame almost an inch. Hard to clean, and keep free of dust, and in my case, dog hairs...
What kind of windows do I have ? Bay Windows... I really have No clue... Now stop laughing Flo..... {:>)))
No, it's not the pool at all. The pool is 3/4 full though.
4 yrs or so ago, we needed the deck redone. 1 company wanted to tear the whole thing down and start over for 30G's. Are you kidding ? Well then I found another guy, and asked, why don't we put a deck on the existing deck ? The guy looked below at the joist's and said they were 18 inches apart, which is great, now a day's they space them much further apart. His concern was the weight.
They put the new wood on top of the old. However when you look down the spacing of the boards, some cover others completely, so water does not flow threw to the bottom. I think this summer I need to find and big hand held drill, and go threw all the spacing, and drill big holes so water does not get trapped. That is what is causing the popping. Boards being pushed sideways, and water trapped between are causing screws to Pop.
Last night it went from gun fire, to shot gun blasts. I really wish we never had a deck to begin with. Too much upkeep. A cement slab would be so much easier to deal with...
our deck is popping like mad, after the rain last night, the snow somewhat melted, then froze to s sheet of ice, now the expansion and popping sounds like gun shots.. it was happening all night last night, the dogs hear a Boom and jump up. it will likely happen tonight also..
Looks Great, but as far as eating, I would not know. Allergic to most fish, so I don't test the waters. Thank goodness that Sea foods are okay... I remember a yr ago or so, I was making Salmon for Orin, had not washed my hands completely after touching the raw fish. I know better than that, rubbed my eyes at some point, and they blew up. Took 2 day's for the swelling to go away...
Okay, I had noticed you mentioned Tweets in the past, so I just thought you got caught up in it... Just why someone Tweets their every move in life, just don't get it... ????
You Tweet ? I have never understood that...
