RIGHT ON - YOU DA MAN!
I see 500 shares were traded in the overnights. Wassup with that?
Another sleepless night
vodka & OJ all the way
At least SEC stopped the bleeding.
But I can think of many four-letter words right now. This is not pretty (unless it goes up again)
General response:
This is the strangest stock I've ever traded. The disparity/spread between bid and ask is totally whacked out (to me). For example, if the last sale price was, say, $2.00, why would anyone set a sell price at $1.82? Doesn't make any sense. Why would one sell at $1.82 (just because someone bid at that price) as opposed to say asking $1.99?
sounds good - heading home now and will check in tomorrow morning. I just hope I sleep well tonight - perhaps some vodka will help that.
But again, my question:
If it takes a dive after the earnings report (if there is one), will we be holding or desperately selling? I know it's a subjective question but just curious about what fellow posters are thinking.
I suppose a logical question here would be if they don't report earnings, won't they be in an SEC violation?
If yes, then what happens?
General question for everyone:
I guess it depends on everyone's particular situation but if the earnings turn out to be "bad news" and the stock starts dropping, will you sell immediately or just hold for the long term?
Wildbilly!
Thanks so much for this valuable information. I hope to use it wisely.
I trade with Schwab. I called them about this same issue and they suggested that I keep their active trading floor open (streetsmart.com) all the time and look for the "little green button" to pop up which indicates "new" news. They said that this is a constant streaming of the latest information from the SEC and/or public companies' reports.
They also suggested that if the earnings report is announced during after hours to check with them (Schwab) as soon as possible on the next trading day before the markets open to see that kind of trading activity went on during the after hours trading.
Some general questions re earnings:
1. How will we know when the earnings has been reported?
2. Does the company file with the SEC and then the SEC posts it?
or
3. Does the company post it publicly and to the SEC simultaneously?
4. When that happens, is there a place on the WEB where we shareholders can get that information immediately? SEC website? Internet? Company website?
5. If the earnings are released "after hours" we can't trade; doesn't seem fair. Then the overnight traders who can trade either get in (or out) first.
I ask only to try to know the earnings ASAP so I can decide whether to hold or sell my stock positions.
Lastly, sometimes it seems that the "game" is rigged so that the "boys downtown" get this kind of info before the general trading public does.
Nice quiet day - low volume; hope that bodes well for next week.
At this point, I don't care WHEN they come out; I only care that they are POSITIVE earnings. This roller coaster rider is quite harrowing.
what's going on? Is there news we don't know about?

that certainly cleared things up, didn't it? :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence on this stock. I take comfort in the fact that it did NOT tank (at least not yet). I'm still hanging in.
I hope that this dive today was just the shorts doing their thing.
I still note that I see every day that the gap between the bid and the ask seems to vary wildly.
I'm still sweating. But at the least it has found some support at the present price. Hopefully, the shorts are done.
I don't have a clue. I'm not a chart person. But watching this go down today is giving me a sinking feeling. But I'm holding for now.
Wish I could help you more.
So you don't think the stock is tanking because of the PR as such; just that the shorts are cleaning up.
I suppose I'll hang in until the earnings report. If the earnings aren't positive, then . . . I don't want to think about it.
If you are answering my post, I'm not sure what the chart means to my question(s). Needless to say, I am NOT a chartist.
One more question:
If the earnings are NOT positive, would anyone like to suggest a price at which the stock would settle? Low $2.00 range or below? lower?
And, of course, if the stock were to hit that price would you sell or hold?
My question to Fortis and the rest of the board:
My positions are at $2.67 and $3.30
I also have a sizable chunk of this stock. I'm thinking about setting up a "limit" sell order today in the event that the earnings start a rapid sell-off. But I don't want to set it too high because if the stock hits that limit price "temporarily" (and then goes back up), then all my shares will sell too early (at a loss). Obviously if the earnings are good, then I'm good.
I'm thinking a good stop limit price would be around $2.50-2.60. Even though I would lose money for sure, I wouldn't lose ALL or most of it.
Any advice ??? anyone???
I gotta tell you guys: I'm not a little nervous here. I've got substantial positions at $2.67 and $3.30. With all this volatility, well, . . .
I'm thinking about setting a stop limit at $2.67 for ALL shares but I'm worried about that because the market movers might see that trade and giggle the price down there just to get some buys. They've done that before.
I suppose I'll just watch the bid/ask action monday morning and see what happens and have my finger set on a sell and HOPE it gets filled if the price tanks.
Anybody think this is a safe strategy? other strategies?
Anybody on this board have a clue as to why this stock price literally jumps around so much? I swear sometimes the bid/ask spread is .10 or more. There will be a trade at $2.10 and then the next one at $1.98.
Any clue?
Agree - and I hate chasing stock prices. But, I'm leaning now to changing that bid to 2.60. Whaddya think?
Right on bro. But if this high price range remains steady until 4:00, I might change my order to a higher price.
Likewise - I have an order in at 2.50 and will probably not be filled; but I'm patient on this one. Got burned a little on SNPK
Good Luck
look out on the good side? or look out on the bad side?
Do you mean explode "up" or explode "down"?
I agree with you there EasyMe. I don't care if Janice is a basher (whatever that means); but I do think she answered JD Love's question in a clear, concise manner.
I notice on CNBC - that the ticker AWSR is at $2.00 after hours. Could someone explain this?
glad you got in low.
But the rigging has gone on since time immemorial and it won't stop. That's just the way things are. Big money as always rigged the same - call it fair or unfair - won't matter.
Sorry, but I'm an old skeptical, curmudgeon and seen too much in this business.
Agreed. But haven't we know all along that the fat cats downtown rig the system to their advantage? Nothing can be done. Cross your fingers and hope to get in at a low bid.
Yep - when I started trading (about 2 years ago) I didn't quite understand the 3-day settle rule, so I got a bunch of restrictions early on. I've learned my lesson. I only "turn around" a buy order when I buy with cash; other than that I hold for 3 days. I learned my lesson. I don't want to piss off Schwab - they have been very good to me.
That's also why I only buy up to $2,000 on any penny stock.
I know its risky. Can't activate Margin because my money is in an IRA retirement account.
It has been my experience with Schwab that they don't give a hoot and a holler which stock(s) you buy (penny or others) as long as you play by their trading rules.
First, I made a sell of a stock in my portfolio. Second, I then made a trade to buy NSRS at $1.62 with the funds that I had just sold. (I trade with Scwab). Since the funds in the first trade weren't settled yet (takes 3-days), I can't sell the NSRS stock until after the 3-day period.
This is a basic rule of trading (at least Schwab tells me it is). If I had bought with cash, then I could have sold immediately.
Clear?
If someone can shed any light on this, or if I'm thinking wrong, please share.
Yep, I'm one of those but I still have to hold because I bought with "unsettled" funds. Can't sell until Friday at the earliest. Be interesting to see how this works out.
