Hi Sam!
This is definitely a strong buy for me at these prices! No dilution in the last years, interesting patents and a possible AAPL connection, with others to follow....

Ramsey thanx.....I mixed it up! I thought they had Intel boards with IFX chips and ETSL came with the board.

Remember Intel....
Remember the first IFX 1.1b Dell machines...
Forget the TPM manufacturer, Wave has the ONLY solution which covers all in the Trusted Computing arena...

For all.....I remember the time when a colleague of mine developed remote desktop. At this time, McAfee was one of the MOST unrecognized security assets in the world. Time will change, for sure....
BTW, it´s not about HP vs. Dell or NEC, it´s about a new security infrastructure. If you bet on whats state of the art right now, then forget Wave, if you believe that the security landscape will change, KEEP RACING HERE!!!!!!

Another OEM who chose Wave instead of Secude. GREAT news, don´t underestimate NEC! While most of the Western world sees NEC as a small OEM, the market in Japan is huge.

Dell liefert Notebooks mit selbst verschlüsselnder Festplatte
http://www.pcwelt.de/start/sicherheit/datenschutz/news/1850001/
06.12.2007, 14:36 Uhr

Mundo....EXCELLENT find!
From a technical point of few, I´m wondering why you´ve got no replies on this.
"TPM technology also allows data on the hard drive, including temporary files and the swap file, to be entirely encrypted as part of a secure boot-up."
The TPM itself can´t do this. So there has to be an FDE software or hardware installed?!
Just a guess re: SWAP file encryption, but has anybody tried to install Symantec Norton on a SOFTWARE FULL encyrpted drive?
Good find mundo, thanx for sharing

ISPRO
Cosign.....sure I think this is one of Dells assets to regain the number ONE again. HP´s step with Safeboot sure underlines their interest in Security too, but while Dell is using only ONE solution to provide strong security to ALL of their business machines, HP has different applications (Protect Tools, Safeboot) for different security issues and ONLY on HALF of their business machines. This makes it more difficult for ADMINS to set up an enterprise wide security infrastructure. Not to speak of the lack of server sided administration tools.....
So I guess at least for enterprises the choice should be easy!
BR
ISPRO
Hi Sheldon.....thats my experience too. And not to forget you´ll have to decrypt the HOLE drive to install some sort of applications and after that you´ll have to go the painfull way of encrypting the drive again. Another few hours lost.....

To all, RE D430:....most notebooks in the near sub-ultra size have 1.8 inch hard discs. I guess the standard for the D430 is a 1.8 drive. (the 4200rpm indicates this)
Sure the notebook has a 2.5inch case, so they can carry FDEs. But I guess most of the business machines are 630s or 830s.
BR

Ramsey....yes the most of the OEMs, I´ve had in my hands don´t even ship a driver CD with the systems. So you have to download it. Well I guess nobody will download it!
BR

out of the door,....again
Taxi vader.....thats exactly what I´ve seen on the machines. All IFX machines (All notebooks and the DC7700) Have Protect Tools preinstalled and all BRCM machines NOT.
Thanx for the pdf, nice summary BTW.
BR
ISPRO
Ramsey....yes HP installes their HP protect tools ONLY on IFX machines. It makes no sense, since the Protect Tools run on BRCM chips too.
I don´t know IF HP has a concept on this issue.
BR
ISPRO
Jup, that´s what I thought months or years ago. The IFX SW development is not even a division. So why invent the wheel for the xth time?
BR
ISPRO
4X...thanx, didn´t read it. Thats a BIG Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
BR
ISPRO
It was me, since I discovered after months of support calls, that IFX runs on BRCM chips...
But why is IFX not preinstalled on BRCM machines? Just wondering...
BR
ISPRO
Cosign....my wishful thinking FWIW....
....the real interesting of the Wave demonstration at the IFX booth is that the new HP/BRCM TPM based machines STILL have NO preinstalled IFX TPM software on it. I guess HP knows that the IFX software runs on BRCM chips, so why don´t they install the suite. Perhaps it´s fetched too far from, but I´ve never lost my wishful thinking on this issue.....

Yahoo states (brakes are losses)

I don´t know exactly, but I think the loss increased in Q307...

Alea.....well the mid and longterm future, but for now investors want to see money immediately. Funny to watch the trading and sad to see the SP decline while Wave has revenues per Q which are higher than all year results in the past.
