To clarify, I didn't expect news today and had not checked. My friend texted me and wrote "partnership news". Excitedly, I googled hoping to see somebody like AstraZeneca had bought in. So when I read it, yes, the word small came to mind. You say I'm negative when all I ask are legit questions. Someone had to actually ask in the cc what happened to the $3 million backlog. They weren't going to say it (at least is seemed that way) and that bothers me. Then they explain it by saying that they lost the orders because the virus was cooling off (paraphrasing). I actually think we lost them because we weren't able to deliver at the time of the order, the virus cooled a bit, and the ordering folks said nevermind. Had they been shipped there's no time to cancel. And as for Dr. Chan, he got interviews on national shows, big shows, when the virus was THE topic, white hot, and was the sole reason he was being interviewed. He downplayed the importance to the company. He BLEW those interviews by not realizing the magnitude of the moment. Had he been a dynamic leader/spokesperson in those interviews, I am convinced the course for us would have been dramatically different. That doesn't make me negative. It makes me a thinker who tries to piece together where we are and, more importantly, why. It makes me ask "Why aren't we in the mid teens in the very least like Hemopure predicted?" (and I agreed with). Some things have been fumbled. Some will disagree but you won't change my mind.
Can you explain this further? I'm a little slow LOL.
I don't understand this deal and the mixed signals they send out. They lost the $3 million backlog because CV19 was subsiding, they state multiple times that we are not a CV19 company/play (the woman on the TD interview had to ask him to talk about it), and then partner with a company to sell filter in the US for CV19(?). Do we have a clear direction from these people?
Small deal to distribute in the US for CV19.
News of a partnership?
I hear you, and I am not wanting to argue. The same people who say they are building that $400-$500 facility said to us in March, paraphrasing, "We can do $80 million and are going 24/7". We don't need to rehash who mistook what. I'm a little gunshy with them though. I can put two and two together nicely, but not if I don't know for sure the numbers are two and two. With that, I am off to a Rotary meeting. Good luck to us. (I'm retired and timing is starting to get important)
The problem is, my opinion again, is that if you take the $2.5 million in sales for CV19 out, we are left with $7 million. Just not a number that's getting anybody excited. They lost the backlog, or some portion of it, and they come out and say that other sales were hindered by the virus. OK. I am impressed they got $50 million sold quickly (what did they tell those people?) but the rest of the market now looks like they are saying "Show me" and it ain't happenin'. I'm concerned short term, and not seeing what moves this. Anybody else that wants to jump in, I welcome all opinions.
My concern is we are running out of shorter term items to move the stock, and stock movement is what I'm here for. You will disagree with me, but we can no longer trust that Q3 will be all that great. Some investors have passed away and some others are starting to hurt from the waiting. Not whining, just stating the facts. You and I agreed we should have been in the mid teens months ago. After a delay, we were headed there (my opinion) when we got the double gut punch, the financing (and it can certainly be argued they made a good move doing it but the timing?) and the earnings and "Oh by the way, we lost that $3 million backlog". They have a serious credibility issue. Nobody thought $9.8 would be that number. So, what are we looking forward to now and when? Serious question. Sorry for the ramble.
The fact that we still don't know what method the FDA is using to evaluate concerns me. My optimistic side says they gave us breakthrough designation months ago and if they wanted a full blown trial they would have said so a long time ago. My pessimistic side says but this is CTSO and Murphy's Law reigns supreme. "Something" was told to the folks who very quickly shelled out $50 million. I'd love to know.
Personally, just me, I've had enough of the buying opportunities.
The problem is that he is mediocre at these interviews and President Vinny is not an option as he has a face for radio. Put Makis on TV
The financiers who shelled out $50 million must be just thrilled.
Was this yesterday?
I just asked you a question. When you told Mike to order the piano I actually texted a bunch of people that own the stock, a number of whom I got to buy in. Paraphrasing "He's telling a guy he has no patience for to order a Steinway. I like it. What does he potentially know about the FDA?". Now there's 2 directions A. The FDA says no trial necessary B. Ya gotta do a trial. Now, just me and my opinion, if they announce B. the stock is not going up. Only A. makes the stock move big, aka "Order the piano Mike". I guess I read too deeply into your comment (Mike too?). And saying no matter what the FDA says I will be negative is just crap and you know it. I post both ways. Am I positive no matter what? Nope. Guilty.
Didn't you just tell Mike to put a Steinway into his online cart?
I live on NJs biggest Lake. We have power back but the roar of generators is still in my head LOL. Huge tree damage/destruction. I hope that you are correct and that's what got folks/institutions to pony up over $50 million. The new doctor is so very impressive. That's what I hang my hat on. A successful guy like that is not joining a sh@t show failure. They should thank their lucky stars they got him. Get him out in front of a mike already!
OK, will do that. Thank you. Sounds very encouraging. Not if but when. Great.
I posted before that I had no power and have not heard the CC. Can anybody summarize what the status is for the breakthrough device approval from FDA? I read the exhibits aliberto posted. We got the breakthrough designation in April. Are we waiting for FDA to let us know how they are going to evaluate us? Was that the gist of what was said? Thanks in advance. I always listen and feel like a fish outta water. Crazy week here in NJ.
Great post. Informative. Thanks for the kind words.
This just in, momentum officially killed. RIP. Kidding aside, what is the next news potential we have?
Great find. Above my knowledge level of the process. I think we'd like to hear your thoughts. But if we are fast tracked, shouldn't we already know the path to that approval? Confusing.
Orangecat, the fishin magician, does your quote jive with what we were told in May? Can they coexist, the two of them?
What was incorrect that I posted? My buddy listened and said they weren't even going to address the backlog until it was in a question. That $3 million was in everybody's "I think revs will be $12 to $15 million" predictions. I am a big boy and can make my own decisions. Give me the truth. I cant figure or calculate anything based on BS figures that they, not us, have thrown around. Hemo is correct, a record quarter for sure, subjectively in the best position ever (agreed) but it should be better and like Ping Pow writes (interesting no attacks on her) the sp should be higher, and would be if this was handled better. Peace.
So it looks like we produced about $8 million in that first quarter but had orders for $3 million more that we couldnt/didnt fill in a timely manner. Some (how many?) became cancelled because of this inability to deliver, and we promote the guy who oversees this to co President. And I understand what jdizzy is implying but, if we lost even $1 million of that $3 million, it's not good.
Big damage and no power here in northern NJ. Did not hear the call. Someone posted that much of the $3 million backlog did not materialize. Did anyone ask, or did they explain the following(?) So on 3/31 we had a $3 million backlog. But we didnt know that until 5 weeks later, in early May. So far correct? So 5 weeks into a 13 week quarter the cancellations had not begun? Did they mention that in early May or did it all just happen after the Q1 May call telling us we had a backlog? Again, I missed yesterday. Did they touch on that?
I know from Canes post quoting the company release. "We were notified on July 21...".
We have no power in NJ so I didnt hear. Did they clarify if it was the $20 million capacity or the $9.5. We all misunderstood last time, it was us, so did they make it clear?
Nope, truth truth truth regardless of which side of the fence it falls. An explanation for the PR delay was it wasn't quite done. Bull
So they knew for certain on 7/21, while putting the pp together, that they were getting the Army grant. They dont PR it, causing confusion when they finally do, and some poor saps spend as much as 13.89 on the news. I'd be so pissed.
I don't believe you're a short. Never did, not for a second. Good luck to us. We need it.
On earnings day they just posted an article from July 14 on Facebook.
And in a crazy way, I'm guessing you completed the circuit for him too!
From your lips to God's ears. I am ready for a celebration!
This is a discussion board. Take a stand. I did. Tell everyone here that you like the PR and the way it was written. I wrote I'm happy for the news. The text is amateurish to me. I'm sorry to feel that way. I don't like to. Your turn. You like it?
And I pray I am wrong but my initial reaction was one of concern for what we will hear tomorrow and why this wasn't just held for tomorrow's call? They needed to say this today? So I definitely am not in favor of a fluff piece here. Makes me uneasy, and again, I sure hope I am wrong.
I don't clamor for fluff PR's. You're way off. This is written like it's a bunch of little league coaches slapping each other on the back for their 10 win season. All that's missing is "And we can't forget Hank in the mail room without whom we couldn't have done this". I don't mind PRing the milestone at all. But holy cow. A statement issued by all the officers? Are ya kidding? Is that what we collaborated on on Friday? "It takes a global village"? I need a shower. Sorry, it looks minor league to me, the writing, not what it's announcing. Sheesh.
This PR today sounds like the script from a Christmas party speech
I hear you but what does it mean? What occurred?
They wouldn't and I'm not arguing that. Actually, I'm not arguing at all because it didn't affect me. My belief, right or wrong, is some people thought this was another grant. How do I know? I did,and sent notes to 4 different friends invested here. My mistake, but I don't think I was alone. Canes asked why the premarket spike. Do you have another theory for us?
Word of this grant came out previously, but the company did not issue a PR. When they did today, some folks mistook it for a new grant (this is my opinion) and, depending on how you view it, they were taken advantage of by some folks that were laying in wait. $13.89 at 7:09 has a bad aroma to it. I'll leave it at that. I e-mailed the company first thing and....no answer. Once again, as I wrote the other day, they don't clarify things very well.
