Toyota and Mazda team to launch a new company for clean vehicles
October 3, 2017 Bret Williams
Automakers are favoring batteries over fuel cells
Many automakers have their own plans for clean vehicles, most of which will likely be powered by battery systems. Some companies, like Toyota, are planning to use fuel cells in order to power their clean vehicles. Most automakers, however, believe that fuel cells are an inferior solution, largely due to the availability of batteries and the advances that have been made in battery technology.

China obliges carmakers to share alternative drives from 2019
Beijing (DPA)-The Chinese government is serious about its quota for electric cars. From 2019, carmakers in the country should comply with mandatory minimum targets for the share of alternative drives in production and sales, as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on Thursday in Beijing.
Car manufacturers with production or sales of more than 30 000 vehicles annually must either comply with the rules or buy so-called credit points.
