"May be witnessing the turning point."
Sorry, can't be. I thought we agreed that the turning point was Wednesday around noon. Since there can only be one turning point, you will have to call this something else.
The negativity doesn't bother me. The ignorance and false statements do.
"The good news is that I agree with you. "
Well maybe for once in this stock 2 rights will make a right instead of a wrong. I really do believe that regarding the COMPANY we have been right all along. Sadly in these days of such prevalence of small cap manipulation, being right about the company doesn't always equal being right about the PRICE. Especially in the short term.
Despite all this I continue to believe in this quote: " Successful value investors make their money by purchasing stocks when they are undervalued and selling them when their price rises to meet or exceed their intrinsic worth."
I think the time has come.
For the most part I have not had a good feel for the movement of this stock. Have zigged when I should have zagged many times.
But just a few minutes ago I got a strong feeling in my bones that the BEGINNING IS NOW! Looking for $8 by end of year and then off to the races big time.
Usually don't like to post unless I have some kind of facts to present. A feeling certainly isn't a fact but yet it is so strong I felt like sharing.
"I think Somebody needs to temper the raging enthusiasm that surrounds this thing."
Why do you think that and why do you feel that it is your job to do so?
Why do you feel that others here are unable to discern for themselves what they should be enthusiastic about and what they should not?
"It appears to me, that the shorts problem has been grossly overestimated."
It appears to me, that anyone who has never posted anything positive about Sphere 3D should probably not own this stock.
It also appears to me that every negative message you post is always only one or two sentences and never contains any factual basis for what you have to say.
It further appears to me that (at least for the moment) the share price is up nearly 5% while the market is down around 150 points. That's positive not negative.
What a wonderfully positive, factual, well written message. Bravo & thank you.
Hard to believe that on a NASDAQ volume of 16,800 shares traded and the share price down .30 people are posting all kinds of dire warnings of the share price going to $6 or $5 and that the company must come out with some fantastic news.
The truth is that based upon 16,800 shares traded absolutely no legitimate assumptions can be made one way or another. Maybe somebody sold some shares to buy a new car or put a down payment on a house or pay a hospital bill.
This is just another low volume Friday. Probably a good day to do something else besides making conjectures based upon todays trading.
I notice that you put this disclaimer at the bottom of the 2 messages you posted today:
"Any posts are just an opinion and should not be taken as investment advice. Always do your own DD"
Based upon the quality of the messages I would say that is very good advice.
" What if somebody with a bigger or better or just as good mousetrap comes around? Is this a valid ?"
No. Because it is unanswerable at this time and could be asked about any innovative company in its early stages.
Could have been asked about Ford Motor Co. or MicroSoft when they started out. And even though competition came for both of them, I'd say they still did pretty well.
You seem to wear your negativity as a badge of honor. It's not.
Don't really see any trembling from the shorts. Also don't see any selling pressure from them at all. What we are seeing is a real lack of buyers. News like this should have sparked a real nice rise in price. All this means is what we already know......Sphere3D is very much unknown by the general market. Tomorrows Credit Suisse presentation should be a small step to help change that. Seems like a perfect time for a really positive Seeking Alpha article by one of our Guru's like Scott or Marc Chang.
Thought my buy at 7.82 this morning would be really green by now. But I guess I must have been the only one who thought that. Am I that dumb? That's rhetorical. Please don't answer.
Well, I think it's time for the rubber to meet the road.
Soon we will find out if we are in a finely tuned formula 1 or some sputtering old jalopy. Hard to tell right now from the trading. But seems unlikely that so many people have done so much (acquisitions, mergers, new products, trade shows, partnerships, stock exchange upgrades, etc.) if there is no giddy up in this vehicle.
I think all we need now is some high octane (significant G2 deals) in the tank and we will be off to the races.
It looks like deslisting from TSX-V is a fairly rapid process. Here's a company that announced its intentions to delist on October 28, 2013 & expected the delisting to take place on November 11, 2013.
ASX RELEASE
OCTOBER 28, 2013
Southern Hemisphere to voluntarily delist
from Toronto Stock Exchange – Venture
Chilean-focused copper-gold developer to continue trading on ASX under code “SUH”
Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited (“Southern Hemisphere” or the “Company”) (ASX: SUH) advises
that it has applied for the voluntary delisting of its ordinary shares from the Toronto Stock Exchange –
Venture (“TSX-V”).
Subject to the application being accepted by the TSX-V, it is expected that its ordinary shares will be delisted from the TSX-V on or about November 11, 2013.
I will take credit for that AmeriTrade thingy but no debt owed.
Let's just hope that no selling of any ANY shares will be necessary in 2015. Just one really nice LONG ride up so our shares will all be long term for taxation purposes.
Sphere 3D to Present at Credit Suisse 2014 Annual Technology Conference

Sphere 3D to Present at Credit Suisse 2014 Annual Technology Conference
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Nov. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sphere 3D Corporation (TSX-V:ANY) (Nasdaq:ANY) a virtualization technology solution provider, announced that the Company's Management will present at the Credit Suisse 18(th) Annual Technology Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Following the Conference, an archived version of the presentation will be accessible by visiting Sphere 3D's Investor website at www.sphere3d.com.
Since he has NEVER said one positive word about ANY, the fewer words the better.
The reason Mr. Smith keeps saying that he can't find any experts to validate GlassWare is because Mr. Smith believes that HE is the one and only expert in the tech industry.
A legend in his own mind.
Heard again from my unnamed reliable tech sources that Ken Hess was on his way to Sphere headquarters to demo GlassWare when he was kidnapped. Word has it that the kidnapper was wearing a hood with an Orchard Parc logo emblazoned on it. Canadian Mounties are currently investigating.
Heard from unnamed reliable tech sources that someone from Orchard Parc attempted to break into the Sphere3D booth and sabotage their display.
Fortunately the perpetrator was apprehended and turned over to "Red" Reddington to be dealt with.
Anyone heard from Mr. Smith lately?
One thing we now know about Mr. Smith is that his research skills are amazing. How was he able to come up with this list of failed companies? Must have involved a great deal of time and extensive digging.
Well, not really.
His list was taken directly from that trusted site..... The Scamologist.
That site is of course known for its excellent track record for predicting stock winners & losers. Oooops! My bad. It's actually solely dedicated to BASHING Sphere3d.
Wouldn't surprise me if The Scamologists offices are in Orchard Parcs broom closet.
Another 32,700 shares for Pinetree:
http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/pinetree-capital-ltd-acquires-securities-of-sphere-3d-corporation-tsx-pnp-1963378.htm
Well etradeedge I can understand your giving up on T.A. after the results you have had, but now asking investment advice from the board basher? That's a bit much.
I heard that guy is the only customer Orchard Parc had. So they must be in real trouble. Glad Sphere people were smart enough not to buy that dog of a company when it was offered.
I was talking to Bill Gates the other day and he also said GlassWare was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Asked him about OPUS by Orchard Parc. Never heard of it.
Today, I spoke with a Dell End User Computing Architect. He said that GlassWare was the most incredible product he had ever seen.
He also said that Orchard Park products are crap. Wouldn't recommend them to his worst enemy.
Also probably adding to the time and complexity is the fact that it is a combination of a U.S. & Canadian company.
Length of time for merger.....size of short interest.....number of negative postings.....number of positive postings.....number of negative articles.....number of positive articles..... ALL EVENTUALLY MEANINGLESS.
Only thing that will determine the success or failure of this investment will be the success or failure of sales of GlassWare 2.0. ANYone believing that GlassWare does what Sphere claims it does and will be even mildly disruptive in this huge potential market should be scooping up shares at these prices.
How long does it take for a merger to go through?
By Chris Gallant AAA |
A:
Corporate mergers and acquisitions can vary considerably in the time they take to be completed. There are a number of individual steps that need to be successfully completed by two public companies before they are legally combined into a single entity in what is called a merger of equals.
The entire process officially starts with an offer made by one company to another, but both companies will likely be involved in closed door discussions about the proposed merger before any official announcement of a merger proposal are made. Once the merger is officially proposed, the financial details are specified and then distributed to the shareholders of both companies. At this point, the shareholders must vote to approve the merger. Assuming the required votes are obtained from both sides, the merger is typically reviewed by government authorities to determine whether it conforms to antitrust laws. The length of time this process takes can vary considerably from one merger to another depending on the size and complexity of the companies involved and the industries in which they happen to operate.
Because the time between the announcement of a merger and its completion can vary, the companies involved usually announce an expected time frame for completion. Once the merger proposal passes all the necessary hurdles, a precise date of combination is announced which, when reached, legally merges the two companies.
Sorry derek but you are getting horribly repetitive and terribly boring.
Maybe it's time for you to find another message board to haunt.
The equation is very simple. Either Sphere has unique disruptive technology that works.....or it doesn't. If it does than anyone holding $6 shares is going to make lots of money. If it doesn't then those shares are going to go in the dumper.
I am not a techy so I cannot claim this is a sure thing. On the other hand there seems to be many knowledgeable tech people who are very impressed with GlassWare. Even you in all your ramblings have been unable to make the claim that GlassWare doesn't work. You just say you are skeptical.
One way or the other I think we are going to find out the answer to our questions within the next few months with or without your constant negativity. So what's the point other than your seeming need for attention? But you could probably get much more of that by just stripping naked and running around the streets of Toronto.
Michael Dortch writes:
" Enter Sphere 3D. Without getting too technical, the company's savvy combination of innovative cloud- and premise-based technologies promise to virtualize any Windows application in six clicks.
The company calls what it delivers "desktop cloud computing," and having seen it in action, I believe it could be a transformative step in the evolution of application access, delivery and management. (I've take to referring to it as "application delivery as a service" or "ADaaS." We'll see if this has any traction.) Basically, Sphere 3D's technologies form the foundations of a platform that could enable enterprises to deliver any application to any user of any device type, economically and securely. And apps virtualized with Sphere 3D solutions run faster than those same apps running on dedicated PCs, making users at least as happy as the IT teams supporting them."
So he must be just another dumb tool being bamboozled by Sphere. Or maybe he actually knows more than Mr. Smith.
"Michael E. Dortch has been an IT industry analyst focused on translating technologies into business value for more than three decades."
Laura Didio tweeted:
"Very informative briefing w/ @Sphere3D on its Glassware 2.0 virtualization platform & V3 Desktop Computing solutions. Impressive products! "
So she must be just another dumb tool being bamboozled by Sphere. Or maybe she actually knows more than Mr. Smith.

Any minute Mr. Smith should show up to explain that even though that school district chose Glassware2.0 to use with their Google Chromebooks that does not mean Sphere has any relationship with Google. That is actually true as the Chromebooks were made by Dell and Sphere's deal is with the school district. That of course does not diminish the importance of the school districts wise decision to use GlassWare.
Since the author of this article Simon Bramfitt was very complimentary of GlassWare, Mr. Smith will probably also point out that he is a nice guy but like Bookman he has no clue about what he is talking about.
Seems like anyone in the industry who has nice things to say about Sphere and GlassWare have no idea what they are talking about.
So in the world of derek smith $2.7M in revenues are NO REVENUES.
A merger that is about 90% consumated doesn't exist.
And NovaRad is in cahoots with Sphere in perpetuating a lie.
GIVE ME A BREAK.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't take my suggestion and pre-announce revenues of $2.5M or more today because of Canadian Thanksgiving.
Is tomorrow Canadian Easter or anything. Probably have to have another excuse ready.
Sphere actually was halted briefly this morning and then resumed. No reason given.

Can't remember if this was posted here before. If so it is worth a re-read.
http://www.pinnacledigest.com/blog/pinnacle-digest/insiders-buy-115810-worth-sphere-3d
A couple of weeks ago several people were trying to estimate 3Q revenues. Figures like $5M or more were bandied about. While possible, I think that is highly optimistic.
But let's say it is only $2.5M. That would represent a 50% increase from 2Q and 150% from 1Q. If that is the case, a PR Monday morning with a preliminary estimate like that along with just a statement that everything is on track with the business and the merger might have a dramatic effect on the share price.
Sure would be better than just keeping everything in the dark and letting negativity reign.
Thanks Pepsiman. Hope you are right.
"it appears that you are expecting the company to report every transaction they enter into.."
Don't remember saying anything like that. But if they have signed significant deals it would be nice to know. Have they?
Of course what the shorts have been doing is manipulative. No argument there.
But, if the company is withholding information that they normally would make public, then that too is manipulative in regards to the share price.
That said, I have absolutely no information to know if they are withholding anything. Perhaps they are doing no business at all and have nothing to announce.
"IMHO company has made a concerted effort to withhold info on progress to make a big impact at the right time."
That would be very manipulative and, in my opinion, not the type of thing good management should be engaged in.
