Yes, it is hard to see that all the value in this company should remain hidden and dormant year after year. They must do something to unlock the value. It is just not logic to go on like this.

Well done, RD. You deserve every penny! Very happy for you. Great job.
How far away are you from filing audited financials?
Now what is going on here?! Up 100% in a few days.
Maybe seven years of silence could have something to do with it.
It is UNDERpromise and OVERdeliver. Not the other way around.
All signs of (increased) life are good regarding this little sucker.
Feels like $10 is not far away now.
I have invested in ITUP. But I am concerned about your many promises that you did not keep. Last time it was about a calendar filing Monday morning that never happened.
"If I get rich, I will build a shrine in my house with Laxmi's picture. Or I will send him a thank you card."
Maybe go for the card.
.
780 BEUR/person sounds a lot
How do you end up with $11/share if you are calculating with 400MUSD cash and 157M outstanding shares?
Who would benefit from this?
For how long can they go on doing nothing? No dividends, no execution, no communication. For how many years?
Or this

I am not addressing the complexity of the task of the auditors.
Warren Buffett once said that one of the most important characteristics he is looking for when hiring new management is integrity. If someone possesses lots of stellar characteristics, but lacks integrity, that alone will be a dealbreaker. No cooperation.
To me, being all over the place with promises and timelines that repeatedly not are met, seems a lot like lack of integrity. And when disappointed shareholders point this out, they do not get an apology, but merely a multitude of words that easily could be mistaken for excuses.
What is a good principle to create credibility in business?
A. Underpromise - overdeliver
B. Overpromise - underdeliver
So, did you change view from "The Gansu government is not going to rip us off" to "The Gansu government is going to rip us off"?
"They have the cash and they have to do something."
That is what keeps us from selling. Hoping for $10 buyout. Or at least $5.
At that time most Swedish shareholders kept their shares within a so called capital insurance (kapitalförsäkring). Most of all SIAF shares in Swedish hands were listed with two shareholders; Avanza and Nordnet. One year ago Avanza forced all their SIAF shareholders to sell and move their shares from Avanza. What was previously listed as one (common) shareholder, now became many individual shareholders. Not sure why this number is from 2018. The current Shareholders of record-number should be another, since one shareholder, Avanza, now has turned into all the individual shareholders that held their shares with Avanza a year ago.
I don't agree. It is a great picture and it should not be deleted.
"Of course, but why would it matter?"
You will still need good investment opportunities. And if the merged company shows great growth potential and future prospects it coudl be an idea not to take 100% off the table.
If HERB is making >$1/year, could they start paying a dividend after a merger?
"Also, they prefer not to give the minority shareholders $400M in cash if they can give us sister-company stock instead. Stock, that could be worth $30 or more depending on how the Shanghai market reacts to the merger. "
I too am inclined to lean towards a merger. A win-win. The company doesn't need to give away any cash and the shareholders could potentially get a huge reward in terms of a skyrocketing P/E.
"No one.. I repeat NO ONE, is buying this company out, period. "
I am trying to get my head around the reasons for the company to suddenly, after years of silence, start updating their website. If nothing really is cooking?
"And I said, $7."
I hope you are wrong by 50%...14, not 3,5
Aah ok. My bad.
"...satisfies the criteria adopted by SEC..."
A bit amusing that they suddenly after years of silence start talking about satisfying SEC.
A dividend might be the preferred option. We'd get some cash and a dividend would get the share price up.
The Chinese strategy has been to buy assets all over the world. If HERB is such a cash cow, why would they ever consider selling it?
T+1
I am fully loaded too (@ <0.02) . The activity on the website is thrilling. Something is cooking and HERB could become the game changer SIAF did not turn out to be.
And - as long as I can get 1000 shares for less than $100 I will keep adding now and then...awaiting my +$5 reward.
That could be the easy option for them; not a merger, not a buyout, just a regular annual dividend. They could invest their cash surplus to maintain, and even grow, a steady $1 annual dividend for the coming years. That way they would avoid any legal hurdles with regards to a buyout or a merger. And they would still get 90% of the money themselves.
I believe that the website was updated by the company and that the changes are legit - not bogus.
However, the question is, would they just make changes to the website and that's it? Without any imminent news. RD says news is "definitely" coming. Well, if that is good news coming, we should be buying at these levels. Lots.
But what if we get no news? Just another three four years of silence?
