Karw,
Tinkering is The Way of Life!
I am still tinkering with my life and everything in it. . I am not sure it is getting better or worse though, but it beats doing nothing!
I wish you success with your Magic Tinkerings
Clive,
I downloaded the Newport program and started WINWORD.EXE, entered the correct date 03-10-2010 and when I click OK nothing happens. I cannot find any way to start the program. . . I am just curious as to how "user friendly" it is but it is not yet "friendly" at all
The ReadMe text instructs me to start STARTNEW.EXE . I did that first but this does not help, I get back to the same page to enter the date.
High Grabber. . .this sounds like "High Roller" ,
I have no direct information. . .have not really been following the market lately.
I know Univer from since I was kid. . .Sunlight soap was the staple cheap soap for poor people: ugly looking foul smelling green-yellow bars with “Sunlicht” in big letters on it. . .it took a week before those letters were worn off! I bet there was something like carbolic shit in it. I was told that “Sunlicht” meant “light of the sun” but it didn’t make sense to me. . the sun was beautiful and not ugly green like this soap. With the real sun light I could start a fire with obly a piece of glass!
Everything in our house got washed in Sunlicht soap. I did not know then that other types of soap existed. Once a week were allowed to take a bath in a tub next to the stove, in the living room. . .I could write a book about that. . . nobody wanted to leave the room. . . and afterwards I stank like soap for two or 3 days. I wondered later how my sister Janny managed get a boyfriend when she was 16. . .I suppose Arie smelled as bad from all that soap. They are still together, in aspite of that Sunlicht smell
Later when I visited some rich people I discovered that there was an other type of soap. . .it even smelled very nice. . .it was called Lavender.
Many years later, when I got a girlfriend myself, she smelled so delicious every day, after bathing, and I fell in love head over heels. . .she used lavender soap! It was like being in heaven for me, which I had never experience before. . .I had only heard stories about it.
I was put to work with a bar of this soap . . . .(I am back being a kid again now) . . .it really did smell awful. . .and a rasp. I had to rasp a half a bar or so in the washtub after the clothes had been soaking first in soda one for a night ot two. Then on a Monday, or often some other day too, I had to beat the clothes with some sort of a stick after having added the soap in a tub with fresh hot water . . .of course, boiled in a big kettle, on a single gas burner. . .we had no hot running water in the house . . .Then I had to scrub the clothes on a plank till they were clean. . .which I had no idea when that was as all the white clothes where a dull yellow/grey anyway.
I think THAT is why the price of ACV is going up more than you expected it would.
All the kids in the world that had to work like I did with Sunlicht soap remember Univeler as the company that made about everything we had in the house. . .even the Blue Band margarine we had to put on our bread and to fry the meat in. . . butter we could not afford. . .except when there was a birthday in the house, then one half pound of butter was bought, and that had to last for 4 days. We were a family of 5 kids. I was the youngest and had to shine the shoes of my brother too. I got a dime for it. . .and in those days a Dutch dime was worth maybe 2 cents US$.
So Unilever already owns almost all household-products companies. . .if they set their eyes on one of them they not own yet it automatically start rising in value. It is the Sunlight Factor:
Whenever people hears the name "Sunlight" they go into a trance and forget everything but the moment they discover that Lavender Soap was also made by Unilever and how they fell in love over it later. . .no one can resist the urge to start a buying frenzy then. . . .I got to run out and buy some Unilever Shares now
It’s like Gold Fever.
Congratulations FB400!
One must always be prepared to overrule a machine. If the stock had dived the next day you yourself would have judged the sell-off to be the smart thing to do and you have popped open a bottle bubbles to celebrate the occasion!
Your decision was right. . you prevented the portfolio to suffer a possible loss in case the stock had dived!!!!!
"Do not be too greedy" is my Motto. . .If you are then some smart AIMer will take advantage of you, more often than you would care to experience.
This is the type of thing I like to hear!
Bravo!
Whether or not your judgement could have been better is a different issue that can only be determined after analysing a number of things in reference to your management objectives and stock behaviour.
A Wheel is Invented!
The Belgian Investment Group GIMV has invented The Wheel. In the Dutch Financial Daily of 31 August 2010 GIMV calls their wheel Anticyclic Investing, and claims that over the last 30 years it would have achieved a net ROI of 12%. . .it does not specifically state that this is meant to be on top on the market ROI itself, nor is it stated on which Index this ROI is achieved.
As if they have discovered life elsewhere in the universe they disclosed that this new investment method hinges on the secret of investing during depressed market periods and unloading the equities at high conjuncture market conditions, when prices are generally the highest.
It's supposedly an amazing discovery that one should buy Low and sell High!
Please pass this on!
It will cause, if one believes GIMV, a revolution in investing management!

The newest version 1.25h of our Vortex AIMing program can be downloaded from this link(1)
http://www.ckweb.nl/test/vortex125.exe
This version is not yet available from the currently published links. It corrects an error in 1.25g in the stock prices downloading subroutine. In this version I can no longer find any errors.
As usual one can use the full capabilities of Vortex for 30 days with out any commitment to buy anything.
For all users that have purchased Vortex in the past and have not used it for some time I suggest that you download version "h". In the past various little bugs made using Vortex less than "a piece of cake".
Now you can have the cake and eat it too
(1) Note
In the Download Wizzard it still gives the version as "1.25g" but it is version "h" that you get.
The details on the standard links will be corrected in the near future.

AIMSTER:
I had been running XP on an old IBM Netvista computer which I got for around $600 in 2003.
All you guys make me look very stupid. . .I bought XP as the "computer" I was using Win 98 on burned up, inclusive the CPU or something related and the Main Hard Disc. That was Dec. 2007 and I thought Windows XP was something brand new!!!
I managed to buy a second hand disc and took its PCBand put it on the burned out Disc of the old computer. My new computer, now almost 3 yrs old is as far as I am concerned a super computer I bet no less powerful than Big Blue. .what do I know! It is. . . let me look. . . . ehhh. . .an ACER Aspire T180-UB7H and I have more memory that I can shake a stick at. . it will take me 100 years to stuff it full. I have used in 3 years 16 GB on the 596 GB disc and I have a 600GB external disc for backups. . .An usually I forget to make backups. . the last one was 6 months ago I think, maybe more. Maybe I should do it next week again J
Most of the computer details you mention fly over my head. I have operating problems that I can not fix. . I am handicapped as hell. I will apply for a Government Grand that aids people that are computer idiots. . . I am sure there is some Idiot Fund for that. . .there are funds for everything here but you have to be a genius to find them and to mange to get through the application. . .as a result many funds can not get rid of the dough!
All I seek now is a genius that wants to be my friend. . .the pay is good.
Clive, in my book you are still an Ace on computers and software from what I read here!
I you would live in Holland I would hire you to solve all my problems others cant solve.
Example:
I can call up websites and e-mail(internet connections are tested and OK) but some programs now give me a message when I start downloading:
"No Internet connection available".
The writer of the program has no idea why this happens or how to solve it and he is a computer/programming expert!!!! I tried everything that was suggested by two people who know a hell of a lot more about all this than I do. This problem all of a sudden appeared.. . I think it is a Quantum Failure
Now I have kicked the program off en will install it again and see what happens.
Please take the Ferry to Holland and meet me in Nieuwegein to help me out of this shit!
I am getting very frustrated.
Within the span of less than two days I have discovered, via this forum, no less than 4 ways to stuff pictures into the text and it appears to me that this is not the end of it. . I bet there are 23 other methods for doing it via all the combined "buttons" on your computer program and the "buttons" that can be discovered in the I-Hub software.
It is very clear now:
I am an idiot.
I know so little.
Clive,
I'm still using XP
I am sorry for you that you are still using such an ancient Windows computer program
Actually, I have just succumbed almost 2 years ago I think, to switch to XP. . . I was more or less forced to do so, for reasons I fear to remember. . .probably because I was accused to be an idiot for using Windows 98.
Now that I have already mastered 0,46 % of its capabilities, and I already feel to be quite an accomplished computer user, the first social suggestions that I don't count any more are beginning to appear.
Now I run into people that assume I am very smart because I am technical and asked to to fix their computer. .they say "It does not work" and expect I can fix it. Then after I arrive sometimes it becomes apparent that the plug is out of the power socket: They compliment be for being so smart to be able to discover that so quickly. Then at other times I discover they have the very latest version of Windows from the time it was available, plus I discover they only know how to use 0,0001 % of its capabilities in spite of the fact that they have already switched from something called Vista to the latest thing that came on the market. When they show what they are incapable of I despair. . .any 6 year already knows how to do what they want to do without anybody having told those kids how(such a precious thing how fast kid learn something). Often in those cases I have no clue as to how to do want me to do but usually I start clicking all sorts of buttons that may disclose the needed feature(some times I even click on the HELP-button), and in a short time I have managed to "fix" the computer(or people think I did" without knowing very little about their Windows version. In spite of all that I am showered with compliments that I am so smart. . It amazes me that some many people buy any newfangled gadget that hits the market and use it as type writer and copy machine or simply to listen to music now and then(while they have no clue as to all the possibilities that are hidden in it and are disclosed in the Handbook(which they often have lost).
I think you might as well hang onto your XP until you really need a betterprogram. . .nut I bet you are already smart enough to have discovered to be efficient 40 or more years ago.
Hey there Tom! Nice hearing from you! How's the salmon fisching in your patch of the woods?
Ref: things out of my nose, it's a problem I tell you:
[Which sleeve do you use now????
Actually, I am even more disgustingly dirty now than when I was 3 years old. At least then the snot dried up quickly in the air and. . . OK, I won't go into details on it. . .It is pretty much breakfast time about now on your end of the world, so I will spare you worse things than you can imagine!
Now-a-days I put the stuff from my nose first in my handkerchief, I use multiple methods to get it out, and then, believe it or not. . .I put everything my pocket!!!!. . .I can hardly believe it is true myself!
When I was in BC years ago in the 1960-ties I was working in the forest industry and I did a stint in Kitwanga as faller and a sawmill yard log-bucker. In Kitwanga in the BC NorthWest, well known for its Totem Pole Park on the Skeena River, I managed, I kid you not, to get one of the first kisses. . .other than those on my Mom and sisters. . I don't remember if my brother ever kissed me. . .I should ask him about that. . .it was with girl named Marie. I was showing the town with my car(there was nothing to see as it was dark), so. . .it did not turn out to be anything more. . .I was only 20, so no panic, plenty of time left for me.
Now I lost the thread on the stuff from the sniffer. . . ehhh. . .Kitwanga????. . . Oh yes, I got it!
There were Indians there too and with one of them I got friendly working there in the sawmill yard. . nice chap that it was, he went fishing for salmon every year from Prince Rupert out, into the Pacific Ocean.
This chap almost convinced me to buy a fishing boat. . .I am not kidding you. . ."Catching salmon with a net is much faster than catching them one by one with a lure" he disclosed to me. . I could understand that, more or less. . .I caught one or two Humpbacks in all the years I was there. . the one, or both of them, were beautifully bright red as my blood is. . ."I cought a Red Salmon" I shouted when it happened, and my black friends and the Indian erupted in gleeful laughter: at first I thought it was just because I finally caught a fish, but then I was told: "Its nothing special, just throw it back". . I could not understand that. . .the Indian said: "It's a pink salmon, don't eat it, it's no good at all, they are dying". . .I figured they knew more about salmon than I did so paid heed, but why a pink salmon was bright red was beyond me. . .
At Morrice Town Falls on The Bulkley River(it runs into the Skeena at Hazelton) the Indians there just scoop the salmon out of the air like grisly bears do it but then they use nets instead of their teeth, but the Indians also use mean-looking hooks on wooden poles to lazily haul the salmon in with a frequency that touched on that of the minute hand of a Rolex watch, all the while looking at the sky and rolling a cigarette, like Lucky Luke does it, when he is catching a wild steer. Actually the friends I was with were not really "black people". . .they were white folks like I am, but they had terrific suntans. Don't get me wrong though on this, I get along with black people sometimes better than white one.
The Indian friend, during a particularly friendly moment wanted to help me get on in life and said: "You white folks are very stupid and dirty people, first you was you hands with soap every chance you get, then after you blow your nose in a piece of cloth you put everything in you pocked it in your pocket and 1o minutes later you take it out and repeats the most disgusting thing I ever saw. Its much healthier to close of one nose hole and breathe outward powerfully through the nose. . you will see the snot will fly at least 10 feet away and does no harm and your nose is clean. . .make sure you don't blow it up wind though. Your pockets will remains clean all day.
I learned a lot from that wise Indian but I did not buy a fishing boat. When I started blowing my nose the new way, as I learned it was quite effective, I soon got in trouble with people close to me, even strangers complained and became somewhat agressive. . . some of spray landed on their coats, as I had no idea which way the wind was coming from. I had little choice but to put the stuff back into my pockets, when the opportunity arises I use clean-ex, but that is a problem even worse! I discovered quickly, that from the blowing I rip a hole in the soft paper, and then I am up creek again.
No exit.
I have another story about salmon fishing in Ocean Falls, BC...up there cut off from civilization so in the weekend people do nothing else but fish for salmon. . .that happened in 1979. I was working there as a Field Engineer at the Pulp Mill there so I joined an overnight fishing adventure. . .It was a night mare!
I will tell that story some other time.
Sorry, I only wore "klompen" when living at the farm for holidays.
In the picture the interesting thing is the apple core I am holding: I used to eat apple right down to the "bone" and sometimes the only thing left wast the wooden twig it grew on.
I also remember to the coat I am wearing in the picture and the looks of the dark grey & black threads of the cloth. The picture was take 63 years ago when I was 3.
I used to wipe my dripping nose on its sleeve and one day my Mom promised that if I would not stop doing that she would sow a white handkerchief on the right sleeve, so the coat would not get soiled. That certainly did the trick. . .
I started to wipe my nose only on the left sleeve
Hi Tom,
You see. . .once again it is demonstrated that old dogs like you and I can still learn new tricks!
If you tell me: "jump". . I will say: "A cookie first"
and then I say: "I want another one, I don't jump for nothing".
<OT>
OK Folks,
Clive has done it again!
What would we do without him?
The picture?. . .That is I. . . at age 3,5 years
Well AIM is a contrarian system!
Right! This way being out of the box that was in the bigger box everything you do is (out of the box)^2
an everything you do can be explained.
That's how I operate Vortex
Hey Grabber,
Anyway I broke the 30 day rule yesterday and added another Buy to the one last week (25% further discount).
Now you are a sinner and you will have to repent or be punished!
Actually. . .congratulations!
You are willing to step outside of the box.
... the government of canada is sacked and it's going down in flames like the hindenburg ...
I think not.
There is enough water there to put out any fire. . .if you guys down there don't steal it!
Ash2108:
If your Portfolio van 1000000 rises by 15 % the AIM Buy Formula as I used to use it is:
Sell = (V*(1-s)-PC = 1,15*1000000*(1-0,1)-1000000 = 35000 worth of stock.
How did you get to selling 50000 worth of stock?
Anyway, I would look at the individual investments in you portfolio and sell 35000 worth of the stock that has risen the most. If you acquisition has been selected to have 5 equal parts to start with then I would analyze which stocks have contributed to more than the 10% rise and sell 35000 worth of these stocks.
There is no hard rule how to divide the 35000 between these stocks other than running an AIM-calculation for each one of these parcels that grew more than 10% and to sell more value of the stock that increased the most. I would select the parcels with the "wet finger approach". The initial share costs of 100 up to 500 would not be significant, except possibly for deciding what the minimum trade amounts should be.
My view method would be to select parcels that are minimal as large as the minimum buy amounts that you use and from that point on simply use your common sense on how to select between the stock to make up the 35000 total. . the exact amounts you select are not very important as AIM is only a rough guideline for trading amounts.
Obviously if your calculation comes out to 50000 then the same principle for selecting parcels to sell would apply for the 50000.
{OT}Still need to worry about toxins though.
This is always been an health issue:
Mad Cow Disease
Kuru etc.
due to dangerous prions that are difficult to destroy. But prions are protein variants and I assume that prions could also develop in vegetable protein. . .have not studied that yet. Possibly eating plants is just as dangerous as eating animal flesh.
Your opinion on the issue supports my point: making food from corpses(which predominantly contain elements of something that killed the person) should not be done for various practical reasons but there is no identifiable fundamental reason it should never be dome in the future.
Potentially we can some day set up processes that can safely recycle any kind of residue into feedstock. . .something the earth is already doing on various levels.
When we are ready for it we will also invest in such processes!
A world without any waste at some point. . .but probably not one without war.
After The War we will start on square 1 again
**********************
As the American economy is recovering so is the value of the Euro. . almost at 1.30 now !
Good times are a coming again!
[OT]I agree with you TF. . .from practical health considerations as well as psychological reasons.. .we are simply not ready for that route, and in the end when it would be safe to do it . . .to bring it into the category of industrial processing for which it is now safe to make drinking water from sewage. . .it may then not even be preferable from an economical point of view.
When we are ready to so so the current objections to industrial recycling corpses into food would be eliminated. . the only question is then if it is economical to do so. . .I would think not!
I do not think we are about to AIM our money into FFP. . .Food From People.
No! It's people!
and
. . .what we really need is a paradigm shift.
The objection to turning "dead people" into food stems from our western christian oriented upbringing. From a neutral perspective there should be nothing wrong with eating food made from recycled flesh of corpses. . it happens every day continuously on various fronts.
Besides that there is(or was) at least one group of people in Indonesia that considered eating parts of a corps of a family member
a means of "saving" or "retaining" the existence of the died person somehow.
On the other hand it is know that cannibalism in some way. . (either some times or always. . .I forgot the details of the research) causes serious human ailments in the cannibals. . .apparently a sort of Darwinian extermination mechanism evolved for preventing "eating you own kind" . . .
Taken these different factors in mind the resistance to making food from corpses "of you own kind" is psychological. With potentially and absolute future effective recycling process in which the history of the source material is destroyed. . .without destroying the nutritional value of the flesh of course . . . making food from corpses should not be objectionable. . .for this to happen a paradigm shift is required: people can be healthy food.
If we ever can rise to that level is questionable, but I admit that the proposition that we could come to such a point does not make it necessarily desirable to do so. . .if we can not, collectively, cast off the idea that after death a corps is more than a heap of chemical substances then we should not turn human corpses into food. . .the lingering belief that it would be an evil thing to do will make it so. . .in the same way that all sorts of belief structures that people hang onto now-a-days
also create evil behavior.
So, in the same way that some of us condemn religious fanaticism because it's fundamental evil character we should condemn any suggestion making food from people until we are ready to do so.
The essence of the "Solyent Green", which I considered one of the best issues for thinking about an answer to the question: "What are people for?" (1)(2) is not that food made from people is bad but the deception exercised during inhumane control and coercion of the masses is the evil, in contrast with the other aspect of allowing some people to die in a way that families and friend could "live" with.
In the same sense for me this question(rather the essential issue) arose also in other novels that I would recommend anyone to read.
(1) Cat's Cradle. . . Kurt Vonnegut
(2) Brave New World. . .Aldous Huxley
Soylent Green, anybody?
Yes, I am all for it. . we already recycle humans into CO2,H2O,N2,NOx etc and mineral residues. The CO2 & H20 etc. in the exhaust gases emitted next to crematoria are inhaled already by the people that live next to it, so why not go to the next step and make food from the tissue-components?
Correction
In the previous post I gave the PC-Update formula for the Vortex AIM method adoption as:
PC2=P1 +f/(1-f)*(P1-V2)
Clearly this should have been
PC2=PC1 +f/(1-f)*(PC1-V2)
I was to late to change it.
Hi Atuadi,
I forgot to add that in the Buy Function
Buy Amount = M*(PC-V). . . V=Portfolio Value
M= 1/(1-f) **
from this it is also obvious the if the price does not change V=PC and this provides that Buy=0 and the Residual Buy is eliminated automatically.
The value of "f" is now no longer a constant buy a free variable.
Any value of "f" you select will give Buy=0 as long as the price does not change!
By selecting the value of "f" you can control the size of the trade exactly as you want it. For example if you choose f=0,5 then the PC Update Formula is identical to Standard AIM.
If you take negative values for "f" then you can make the Buy as small as you want! If you take positive values for "f" then you can make the Buy as big as you want!
If you use the adapted Buy Function in Standard AIM and use the practice not to modify the AIM Sell function then AIM and VORTEX AIM are very similar (in that case you would not update the PC after a Sell. . .if I remember correctly).
Note
** The PC Update function becomes
PC2=P1 +f/(1-f)*(P1-V2)
The interesting thing here is that if "f" get larger" (1-f) gets smaller, and if "f" becomes smaller and goes to negative values (1-f) becomes larger.
This relationship result in the fact that the new PC after a Buy is always equal to the new Portfolio Value!
Hi Atuadi,
Other issue I face is the "residual buy". Any ideas on how I can avoid it?
If you are using an Excel program is it very easy to add a statement so that after you have executed a Buy you compare the share price of the new excel row with the previous share price. This share price will be identical to the price you executed the buy at. You can state that:
If price new = price old then Buy Advice=0, so as long as the price does not change this will prevent you getting a Residual Buy Advice.
But then if the price changes by a little bit then you will get the Residual Buy again, anyway! To prevent this you should give the statement a range within which to set the Buy Advice to 0. Now, the standard AIM already has such a limit: It is called the Holding Zone. . .also called the Dead Band. . .it is the percentage change within which not to trade. You can use this Dean Band percentage to make the program give you Buy Advice =0.
It takes a little simple Excel programming.
However, the program remembers the Residual Buy and the next time you get a Buy Advise >0 this residual buy is taken into the calculation and you then execute the new recommended Buy.
But it is simpler to simply ignore the Residual Buy Advise and wait till the price leaves the Holding Zone. . .as soon as the price leaves the Holding Zone you execute the Trade Advice, subject to the Minimum Buy Rule of course. That's how most AIMers do it
In my Vortex AIM program I have restructured the AIM Trade Advice algorithm:
PCnew=Pcold + 0,5*Buy Amount
to
PCnew=PCold + f*Buy Amount
and calculated the value of “f” in such a manner that the Residual Buy = 0 for the next AIM Buy Advice, at the unaltered share price automatically.
The Buy Function is then altered as follows:
Buy Advice = M*(PC-V)
and if the price does not change the Buy Advice =0
One still needs to use a Holding Zone of course. This AIM-adoption automatically eliminates the Residual Buy and provides for a more intuitive response from the program. . .(Nobody expects to get a Buy Advice after he just executed a Buy).
Vortex AIM eliminates that Residual Buy “problem”. . . if you find it is a problem.
In my AIM program I have the Buy Function separated from the Sell Function and that way the investor have control over the "size" of the trade simply by setting different values of "f" for buying and selling.
This is very similar to using a BUY SAFE and SELL SAFE in Standard AIM.
If you want to know more about the specifics of Vortex AIM I could elaborate on it. Simply ask questions on my VORTEX AIM Forum.

Maybe it is as simple as kerosene with a bit of corn oil!
Now I am going to concentrate on important things
That's not very nice of you TF! You first want these well meaning people to make here mistakes on others and not want to take any risks! But after they stop practicing they only go for the big money and they won't çare any more about you. . .
I would not be surprised if you would analyze the medical cases that go terribly wrong it will usually not prove to be because of lack of experience but because of negligence. . .the culprit should have known better or have consulted others to get a consensus on what the best treatment should have been.

Jack on OT Wars,
On a sinister note business and playing games is not a substitute for wars but the essence of it. Many years ago when I started out in business in an honest attempt to run an honest bushiness my sister gave me a book to help me: it was a book from an ancient Japanese expert on War Tactics. Surprisingly to me at the time it was said that these war tactics were also the foundation of good business methods. Everyone that wanted to succeed in business was supposed to read this book!.
The book turned my stomach more and more as I proceeded to read about how to plan ahead of time slashing the sword to hit vital organs of the enemy with a mortal blow, IF one could not at first cleanly chop off his head right away. . nothing but seeking the physical or mental weakness of the enemy so he could be killed with the minimum of effort. . .it is called efficiency.
It is amazing that THAT a book is regarded as basic know-how for becoming a business tycoon. No doubt Rockefeller, Jack Welsh, David Trump, and all the others in that League of War Lords have read that book or else were smart enough to discover the rules of war themselves. None of the rules for war are based on the concept of social justice, honesty or compassion.
But the thirst for winning at all costs is not only a feature of the powerful. . .the lesser beings have to do with soccer or other activities in which the end game consists of defining a winner and a loser.
I have always wondered why in a game there has to be a loser! When the two best tennis players in the world have finished the match why are there not two winners? Why must being the second best defined as a loser?
Anyway, I finally understand why I did not succeed in business. . .I always was looking for cooperation and in the end I got knifed twice. . .without knowing it I was being tricked into a viscous war.
Of course, I now know the answers of all the questions that can be raised on this topic: waging war is a way of life. . . .if it was not for the fighting spirit that makes life possible there would be no life at all. . .survival of the fittest is the name of the game
On April 1, 17xx Spanish Count Alva lost the city of Brielle. . a Dutch walled city at the sea side. A few Dutch entered the city via a tunnel under the moat surrounding the city, opened the gate to the sea and the the Dutch freedom fighters sailed into the city and took it. . .I believe while the Spanish soldiers were sleeping. . or because they were drunk from a feast.
On that day Alva lost his "bril" (seeing glasses)!!!

It is now more than a half hour ago and I still do not know the score of the soccer game!!!!
Ohhh I just heard a few seconds ago that Spain won with 1-0!
Hallo Jack,
I just joint the dicussion, not even knowing 5 minutes ago that we won.
On Sunday we will take revenge on Spain for having waged war wit us for 80 years!
Did you how the 1 April jokes came about at the beginning of the end of that 80 Years War?
I think they are finished but I do not yet know who won. . they were doing a shootout when I last looked.
They are now talking about the game but have not yet seen who won!
As I am listening to the talk I am surmising that Spain won
Ohhhh, a few second later I heard just now that indeed Spain won! . . .
So my prediction is that Holland will play against Spain on coming Sunday
Can you give me some odds on that game to take place?***
PS: I noticed only now that you already knew Holland had won. . . hahaha, I was not paying attention. . .you must have noticed!
*** Calamity mat wipe one or both of the teams out. What will happen then? Do the set up a new team, or two, and play the game anyway with second rate players?
TF,
I already know that the price is the inpuitsignal for AIM and that all sorts of other inputs can be used in the outer management shell. . I wrote a book on AIMing
I was looking for someone that has experience with the type of EA's that are being promoted for Forex trading and are supposedly easy to build. . .essentially to be used as trading robots.
Thanks anyway.
Recently I was told about the use of Expert Adviser software. This in relation to Forex trading. It supposed to take the human emotion out of trading. In this sense an AIM program should also be called an Expert Adviser(EA).
I am reading up on these EA's and it appears that an AIM program could be equipped with the same sort of add-ons that the EA's that are being offered for sale appear to have( market signal inputs that will decide when to trade). . .intended for robot trading methods. Obviously many of you already do something like that as an Overlay Management Technique.
Has any of you have any experience with using commercial EA's.
Apparently it claimed that it is possible to design EA's quite easily without knowing anything about programming. As I understand it one simply has to tie modules together in the same sort of manner as one would do this for advanced software used for dynamics modeling. . .like connecting transfer function in control theory.
It sounds like any 5-year old is supposed to be able to make EA's now-a days.
Can anybody wake me up?
OTT once more
The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.
Now if the market only understood this.
Well, Einstein certainly knew how to give science a humorous twist, but I bet he was the last one to see time as a reason for anything. . .instead he saw light simply as an aspects of reality and as such a suitable element to serve as a clock by which time could be defined.
On the market-thing you are raising I am scratching my head!
What's wrong with the Market as it is?
It understand time as well as the best of us!
The Ups and Downs of the Market exhibit their own dynamics. You could even use these price cycles as a clock:
When the price of X drops Y % I will buy some shares, and AIM will tell me how many to buy!
This is in essence no different than in ancient times the moon was used as a clock, or even now-a-days when people use things that happen as a clock! For example, a farmer's son might tell his girlfriend. . .if he can find one a Farmer Seeks Wife TV show. . . "After the corn is harvested this summer we will get married, and start making kids".
Everything in the universe is a clock!
When the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
