The Company
/////////////
Starfield Resources Inc. is a company whose shares are traded publicly
on the CDNX (symbol: SRU) and the OTC BB (symbol: SRFDF) exchanges.
The Company is focused on exploration and development of its 100% owned
57,000 Acre Ferguson Lake Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-Palladium- Platinum
property located in Nunavut Territory, Canada. After producing very
encouraging results during multi-phase exploration programs completed in
September 1999 and June 2000, Starfield is now engaged in an aggressive
drill program to expand this potentially world-class ore deposit.
Starfield is using state of the art geophysical survey techniques to
extend mineralized horizons beyond the known drilled deposits, and to
seek additional targets. Drill holes to date of over 42,000 meters have
demonstrated a 100% success rate in identifying sulphide mineralization
as the cause of new geophysical targets.
To date the Company has proven, using a 1% cutoff Cu+Ni 51.7 million
tonnes of .92% Copper .58% Nickel, and 1.44 g/t Platinum and Palladium.
Using a 1.5% cutoff Cu+Ni there is 25.5 million tonnes of 1.15% Copper,
.78% nickel and 1.86 g/t Platinum and Palladium and using a 2% Cu+Ni
cutoff grade there is 9.3 million tonnes of 1.37% copper and .87% Nickel
and 2.06 g/t Platinum and Palladium. Prior to the recent discovery of
a new high-grade platinum and palladium reef system the Company had
discovered 2,370,000 ounces PGE’s. Continuing improvements in
infrastructure and exploration methods have turned the newly formed mining
friendly Nunavut Territory into one of the most highly prospective mineral
exploration frontiers in the world today.

DISEASE SCIENCES ANNOUNCES SENSATIVE DETECTION OF PRION PROTEIN IN
ABOUT 1 ML OF HUMAN URINE
Boca Raton, Florida (OTCBB Newswire), February 19, 2002 - Disease
Sciences, Inc. (DSSC: .25) announces preliminary results on the patented
urine test it has been validating for Transmissible Spongiform
Encephalopathies (“TSE”). The most common are Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy
(“BSE”) in cattle, (commonly known as "mad-cow disease"), Scrapie in
sheep, Chronic Wasting Disease (“CWD”) in wild deer and elk and
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (“CJD”) in humans. The scientists working on this
project have achieved sensitive detection of PrP in about 1mL of human
urine. The only other known studies have claimed detection of PrP in as
much as 10-50 mL of urine, but have not been able to be duplicated to
date.
The major component of the pathogen responsible for these fatal Prion
diseases is an abnormal, protease-resistant isoform of Prion protein
(PrP). Currently, definitive diagnosis of prion diseases can only be made
after the detection of the abnormal isoform of PrP in brian tissue
obtained through biopsy or autopsy. These methods are incapable for
routine diagnosis of prion disease since they are invasive, inconvenient or
unpractical.
Ongoing experiments are focused on parallel comparisons of biochemical
and structural properties of PrP between normal individuals and those
infected with CJD. Our results represent an analysis of possible
changes in molecular profile of PrP and other potential surrogate markers in
urine. We will continue the validation of the test with infected
specimens.
“We are very pleased with these breakthrough results. Such extreme
sensitivity should make the validation of the test easier,” stated Dr.
Wayne Goldstein, CEO.
The Urine diagnostic test kit was patented and developed by Bio-Tec
Global. Disease Sciences will receive royalties on sales for its part in
the validation of the test kit.
About Disease Sciences Inc. Disease Sciences, Inc. is a developmental
stage biopharmaceutical/clinical diagnostics Company. Its primary goal
will be the development of drugs through its subsidiary, HealthSpan
Sciences, Inc. HealthSpan Sciences, is developing small-molecule
pharmaceutical products that fight age-related or degenerative diseases by
attacking the underlying biochemical origins of degenerative processes. The
Company's main focus is on life-enhancing pharmaceuticals that treat
cardiovascular disease, cancer, and persistent infections. Also, the
Company plans to use a broad array of technologies to detect, identify and
quantify substances in blood or other bodily fluids and tissues. Its
goal will be a Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (“TSE”) test,
useful in the diagnosis of TSE diseases such as Bovine Spongiform
Encephalopathy (“BSE”) in cattle, (commonly known as "mad-cow disease"),
Scrapie in sheep, Chronic Wasting Disease (“CWD”) in wild deer and elk and
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (“CJD”) in humans. Test results are to be used
in the diagnosis, detection, evaluation, monitoring and potential
treatment of diseases and other medical conditions. The Company plans to
derive its revenues from patent sub-licensing fees, drug development,
royalties from pharmaceutical sales, appropriate milestone payments and

Andrew Corp. to Buy Celiant, Paper Says
Tue Feb 19, 3:34 AM ET
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Telecommunications-equipment maker Andrew Corp. agreed to buy closely held Celiant Corp., which was shed by Lucent Technologies Inc. last year, for $470 million in cash and stock, the Wall Street Journal reported online early on Tuesday.
Andrew will pay $203.1 million in cash and 16.3 million shares, valued at $266.6 million, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The primary owners of Warren, N.J.-based Celiant are Pequot Capital of Westport, Conn. and New Venture Partners II LP, of Murray Hill, N.J.
New Venture, in turn, is controlled by London's Coller Capital, the Journal said.
After the deal, Pequot and New Venture will own about 17 percent of the Celiant-Andrew combined company, the Journal said.
Boards of both companies unanimously approved the deal Monday, and a formal announcement is expected Tuesday, the Journal said.
The deal would be the largest-ever acquisition by Orland Park, Illinois-based Andrew, making it the world's largest independent supplier of wireless power amplifiers, which boost the signal received from the transmission tower to the wireless handset, the Journal said.

Good Morning all,
Plan to watch AVAN, CRAY, FA, and WWIN today.
Looks like it may be a rough day in the markets if yesterday's action abroad is an indiction.
This morning shows downward pressure also:
Battered Tokyo led key Asian bourses down and the yen slipped on Tuesday as Japan failed to come up with any bold, new measure to reinvigorate its troubled economy and banks during President Bush (news - web sites)'s visit.
Hong Kong stocks were hit by a slide in property shares while the Singapore index was dragged down by weaker than expected 2001 results from Southeast Asia's top bank, the DBS Group

Happy trading- Tim
I'm riding a few free shares of ADSX.
BOCA RATON, Florida -- It is 7 a.m. and members of the Jacobs family are getting ready to start their day.
It will be one of the last ordinary days of their lives: Soon, the Jacobs will become the first family ever implanted with a new identification device -- no bigger than a grain of rice -- called the VeriChip.
"We definitely, wholeheartedly believe that this technology will change the world, and it really is an honor to be a pioneer of a technology like this," said Leslie Jacobs. Her husband Jeffrey and 14-year-old son, Derek, said they share Leslie's pioneering attitude about the new VeriChip.
"We're doing something that is good for mankind," Jeffrey said. "I feel like I'm going with the flow of nature, and doing exactly what we're here to do to improve the problems of the world."
The VeriChip is similar to a MedicAlert bracelet, but instead of being worn on the wrist, it is implanted under the skin. It was created by Applied Digital Solutions, a technology development company based in Palm Beach, Florida.
Since Applied Digital Solutions unveiled the VeriChip in December 2001, the company has been inundated by the world's media. The company calls its chip a potential lifesaver for Alzheimer's patients who may get lost, as well as an effective way for doctors to identify patients who will be otherwise unable to identify themselves because they are either unconscious or dead.
But privacy rights experts say the chip crosses a dangerous line since it could someday be tracked remotely.
For Jeffrey Jacobs, the VeriChip could be a lifesaver. He's been severely disabled by Hodgkin's disease and a serious car accident. He says if he's ever unconscious, the device could provide instant, electronic access to his complicated medical history and long list of medications -- saving valuable time and maybe his life.
"It's a great feeling," he said. "I can be more comfortable not having to worry about myself in case of an emergency. I have more sense of security."
A prototype of the chip holds 126 characters and is activated only when a handheld scanner passes over it. The patient's identification number is displayed and then uploaded into another portable device. Patient data is encrypted to 128 bits and then displayed on the reader.
As the scanner passed over the chip during a demonstration, Applied Digital Solutions' Chief Technology Officer Keith Bolton said, "Now it wakes up, it has power, it transmits the information. As soon as it transmits the information, it goes back to sleep. No radiation, no power source of its own, it merely sits there, waiting to be activated."
Newer versions of the VeriChip will hold up to a megabyte of programmable data, and some may include a global positioning tracking feature.
And therein lies the problem. Ethicists wonder who will be able to access the data. Can people be monitored? From how far? What about the right to privacy?
"The first concern is that it will fall into the hands of an evil and oppressive state," said Laurie Zoloff, a bioethicist in San Francisco. "If you're thoroughly known, then you can be thoroughly controlled, because they'll know more about you than you want to be known."
There's another issue: Could the chip ever become mandatory, like an inoculation?
"I don't envision a time like that because we live in the USA, [the land of] freedom of speech [and] democracy. It's your choice. You elect to have a chip because it's gonna provide a benefit to you," Applied Digital Solutions' Bolton said.
Jeffrey Jacobs said he's not worried about privacy issues that swirl around the VeriChip.
"I think there's a lot more invasion of privacy now with all of those things that are currently available on cards to the population than on something nice and private [and] hidden in your body which can't be stolen," he said.
For Leslie Jacobs, the controversy follows her to work just about every day.
"I'm kinda hesitant," said one of her co-workers at Florida Design Magazine. "I don't think she's wrong, I don't think she's right. It's her decision."
"I do think it will be very safe and the wave of the future," said another co-worker.
But Leslie says the dialogue only "strengthens my position. I think I'm intelligent, I think my husband is intelligent, I know my son is intelligent, and we wouldn't do anything without our research."
Son Derek doesn't escape the controversy.
One friend from his band class thinks "it's really weird." Another calls it "cool." Still another says, "I would wait till more people have it before I actually get it."
But Derek isn't the least bit concerned about the VeriChip. After all, he's something of a computer genius, certified as a Microsoft systems engineer at age 12. In fact, it was his idea for the whole family to get "chipped."
"It's brand new, it really hasn't been done in humans," Derek said. "It may have been done in animals, but it's a totally different story when it's put in humans. It's used for different purposes. It's great technology and if you're the first person, it's pioneering."
Applied Digital Solutions won't say when it will get Food and Drug Administration approval for the chip, but the Jacobs say it could be just a matter of weeks. When the company gets the approval, the Jacobs will have the surgery.
They probably will not be alone for very long: Applied Digital Solutions says it already has received requests from 2,000 kids across the country wanting to get implanted themselves.
In the meantime, while the company waits for FDA clearance in the United States, it is finding new business in Latin America. Late last week, Applied Digital Solutions announced it has entered into its first Latin American remarketing agreement for VeriChip and other products. The remarketer has received the "first right to market" for VeriChip and other Applied Digital Solutions products in three Latin American countries. Initial orders exceed $300,000 and first-year revenue should approach $2 million.
"We have received an overwhelming interest in VeriChip worldwide," said Richard J. Sullivan, chairman and CEO of Applied Digital Solutions. "The demand for products that add safety and security to everyday life is particularly strong in Latin America as a result of its political, economic, and social climate. Even before the recent extensive media coverage, we had been receiving dozens of inquiries and unsolicited offers to distribute our products in Latin America. In the past few weeks, the interest has grown exponentially."
Safety and security is key for Leslie Jacobs as well.
"It's really nice to know that the VeriChip speaks for us, if we need it," she said. "It's with us all the time. We can't lose it. I think it's great to take advantage of a new technology if you choose to."

American Gas Association Commends Sen. Baucus for Promoting Economic Growth And Environmental Protection in Montana, U.S. Through Tax Incentives
WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) has exerted strong leadership in ensuring that residential and business customers have adequate, affordable supplies of energy while enhancing the efficient use of energy, the American Gas Association (AGA) said today.
``As chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Sen. Baucus has recognized that tax incentives can play a major role in balancing the adequacy and reliability of energy supplies with promotion of conservation,'' said David N. Parker, AGA president and CEO. ``Energy is vital to the creation of good- paying jobs and to the continued economic growth of Montana and the nation.''
Yesterday, Sen. Baucus achieved approval by the Senate Finance Committee of a package of tax incentives focused on the supply, delivery and use of natural gas, other fossil fuels and a wide range of renewable energy sources.
Some of the natural gas-related tax provisions in this package would:
* promote increased supplies of natural gas, which will help keep
customers' bills down;
* expand natural gas utility systems through faster depreciation of new
investments, thus helping more homes and businesses get the energy
supplies they need;
* encourage customers to generate their own reliable electricity -- right
in their homes or businesses -- with natural gas fuel cells and
combined heat and power systems; and
* improve air quality in urban and suburban areas through tax credits
designed to boost the use of vehicles fueled with natural gas and other
clean fuels.
AGA's member companies include Cut Bank Gas, ENERGY WEST, Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. and Montana Power. The American Gas Association represents 187 local energy utility companies that deliver natural gas to more than 52 million homes, businesses and industries throughout the United States. Natural gas meets one-fourth of the United States' energy needs and is the fastest growing major energy source.

President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Colin Powell are sitting in a bar.
A guy walks in and asks the bartender, "Isn't that Bush, Rumsfeld and Powell sitting over there?"
Bartender says, "Yep, that's them."
So the guy walks over and says, "Wow, this is a real honor. What are you guys doing in here?"
Bush says, "We're planning World War III."
And the guy says, "Really? What's going to happen?"
Rumsfeld says, "Well, we're going to kill 25-million Iraqis this time. And one bicycle repairman."
The guy exclaimed, "A bicycle repairman? Why kill a bicycle repairman?"
Bush turns to Powell, punches him on the shoulder and says, "See, Smart Ass?! I told you no one would worry about the 25-million Iraqis!"

CLEVELAND, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HMI Industries Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HMII.OB - news) today announced that it has restructured its Board of Directors by both reducing its size and providing for annual election of all directors. The six directors consist of five continuing directors: James R. Malone, Chairman, Thomas Davidson, John Pryor, Murray Walker and Ivan Winfield. ``I am delighted with the results of our negotiations with Mr. Foley,' stated Mr. Malone, Chairman and CEO of the Company. ``Both the reduction in the size of the Board and the return of Mr. Foley, a prior CEO of this Company, to this Board will further support our business plan to reposition this Company and increase shareholder value.'
Mr. Malone continued: ``What could have been a contentious or distracting issue has been converted to an important step forward in the continuing evolution of the company. I am pleased that in excess of 80% of the shares are represented on the Board or by officers.
