This is an interesting post. Why Seiki? I offer an explanation:
It is possible that other better known brands were already working with partners as it relates to 4K. How could this be? Perhaps, NTEK is late to the party. This is not totally bad if NTEK can avoid patent infringement. This is a non-issue if NTEK is paying royalties or licensing fees. No way to know what is going on at NTEK until audited financials available next year.
Why did you get out of USEC?
Good post. Comments were really interesting.
I am not wondering why someone posted a comment about NTEK making a Roku competitor. I posted a few times about my trips to Walmart and BestBuy where Roku is the category leader for streaming video. The reason it will be challenging for NTEK to take market share from Roku is simple. It's all about what you get for the money. I wonder what marketing research was done by NTEK to end up where they should have been in the beginning with a competitive product for market leader in the category - Roku. It suggests the price for NTEK products is based upon a mark-up for re-branded products or to cover royalties/ licensing fees of Intellectual Property (IP) owned by another entity other than NTEK. That said, I may add shares to my position if the PPS for NTEK dips from current levels. In the interim, I will keep looking for NTEK products in Walmart and BestBuy. If anyone knows of other stores that are selling NTEK products, please post. I heard Samsung has 110" UHDTV 4K unit that will be at CES. I wonder if Samsung owns 4K IP. If not their patent on UHDTV will likely reference elusive IP owner of 4K technology.
Lol. That is a funny post. Are you starting to lose faith in NTEK?
That is a fact. Many has lost penny fortunes by waiting too long to take profits or being locked out due to restricted shares or shares stolen when crooks manipulated stock or R/Sd their stock to the hilt.
Jaclyn Smith worked there. She was the last great celeb endorser for JCP. She's 68 now according to wiki.
I wonder if one can see the Seiki TV on display/ demo at Best Buy. After I followed the Seiki link you posted, I noticed that this TV was being sold on BestBuy.com by a MarketPlace Seller. That is not quite the same as being a BestBuy product. This is like BestBuy's version of an EBay setup. You or I could be a MarketPlace Seller on BestBuy.com. I'm not getting a clear picture of the competitive advantage of NTEK's 4K products. It's not clear what is NTEK's plan to gain market share. Finally, how much money is NTEK making in selling these products after licensing/ royalty fees if they are manufacturing their own 4K products or margin from the retailing of someone else's product including rebranding/ repackaging expenses?
Disclosures:
1. I am not attacking you nor your posts.
2. I am not a newbie to penny stock investing. I have lost money in pennies and feel the pain of others who have lost at least one penny fortune.
3. I am long NTEK
Gut is best way to go. Nice PPS appreciation to close out the year. Thank you for recommending it.
I will keep that in mind. Many have been up 2 or more times their investment and lost the gains. Profit taking is a good idea. Better to gain some but not as much than to lose all the gains you had with nothing but a account statement to show.
Good find. With enough of the right info, it might take you to the right product. I found some interesting links with HDTV Streaming Internet on the site from the second link. I think you are in the right track.
Good answer. Glad I'm long. I always look for news on pops, but it is rare to be in real time. Insiders and long term players win here. I may take some profits.
Do we know why?
They are going to pay royalties and licensing fees for 4K technology. NTEK doesn't own intellectual property for 4K.
BY, granted Exide may be experienced with hedging strategies and while necessary isn't sufficient to ensure profitable operations. As for savings on CAPEX, it is not so much cost savings as cost avoidance. In other words, you are better off not spending the money because the ROI doesn't pass the smell test. I think Exide definitely has brand equity, but in and of itself that doesn't translate into market share nor justify a premium as compared to ones competitors. I am an outsider on this stock, but having worked for a company that was in BK for 5 years, I predict POR will consist of buyout from Private Equity or most likely a competitor as suitor-in-waiting. Best bet is to be on both sides of the deal.
If their costs go up their share price should go down unless those companies have bought commodities contracts/ insurance. Most companies are not that smart. If someone smart at their company recommends it, they are quickly shot down because it's a pay-as-you-go or wait and see mentality that is more pervasive than the opposite view.
Thanks for info on Reg SHO. If someone shorted or sold borrowed shares, collected the premium, and didn't close out the position by buying equal shares at a lower price or didn't deliver shares that now have a higher price, then what good is the list? If they didn't own the shares then the brokerage borrowed the shares in order for them to sell shares. Please enlighten me if I am missing the point.
Thanks for your kind post. I will bear it in mind. As I have stated previously, I am looking for a good entry to buy the stock.
Does someone think there will be dividend shares from Exide POR? That could be the reason the share prices are increasing at those other companies.
I suggest that you misunderstand the meaning of DD. Where are the audited financials you base your assertions upon? I read that an auditor will certify NTEK financials in 2014 by an unspecified date. What SS are you talking about? As of what date? And, would you stake your NTEK shares on no dilution since that date?
Nice pictures in video. It's better than any of the others I've seen. And, it convinces me that 4k has real promise. I'm still on the fence as far as buying the stock. Not sure if shares are being given away as suggested by some posters. If that is taking place, would you take a stand against it? Since NTEK doesn't have to file audited financials, even the rumors that it might be taking place gives me pause. Would you repudiate NTEK, it they are diluting shares?
Probably a good bet. The brand is worth that much for sure.
That is a big deal. One might be asked an obvious question at this point.... How much money is NTEK making with each TV set sale? This point beckons the next 1000 or so messages suggesting that longs put that vacation to Hawaii on hold to buy a 4k TV set.
Thanks for sharing this info. I wondered why this well known company is traded on pink sheets. Is the money being raised for new product development or to pay the rent and keep the lights on? In any event, I entered a buy order after the market closed today. I expect my order will be filled after the opening bell tomorrow.
Lol. High PPS while operating at a loss fine until potential growth starts getting eroded by imminent liabilities.
I'm long WEN. Got in toward the end of the trading session today.
Good luck. Never pinkie again, never works. I'm thinking about this one too.
My ShareBuilder account is happy. I will likely add to my position next week. I'm off to a great start.
The only thing worse than driving through a Chick-fil-A parking lot is walking through one. Wendy's always had good commercials. There was a lull after Dave Thomas passed away. But, they have done well lately. I mentioned it in an earlier post. I tried breakfast a Wendy's in Louisville, KY earlier this year. The pilot program must have been unsuccessful. I believe they could take page from Subway's book. I have to admit, I never tried breakfast at Subway. I did try once but the store near my house wasn't open.
I love Whataburger. You must be on the west coast. I've never seen one on the east coast. Five Guys is bit like Whataburger with a more burger-centric offering. They may have hotdogs too but most people will order burger, fries, and drink.
I went to Walmart the other night and didn't see any 4k products. That may be because all of people who shop at Walmart won't pay what NTEK is charging. I did find four models of Roku though. I will check Best Buy again. The last time I was there asking about Nuvola, they didn't have any. They did have one brand of Roku.
Funny thing is you can pay more at fast food chains for combos after you upsize or order a specialty drink. The thing that gets me about fast food restaurants is cooking ahead, warming, or outright microwaving food. Have seen someone microwave your food at one of these places? And if you were going to eat microwave food, could you not wait a few more minutes to get home and do it yourself? If you pay more at Five Guys, it's not much more and the food is better. R
I like the idea of a custom vehicle. However, it is hard to do things right consistently to generate a loyal following . It takes a bit more than Wow Factor. It has to have the look and feel of prestige or in one word; exquisite. I tried to buy some shares today. I have to get a broker to create my order due to exchange listing. I know the brand has been around for awhile, so I don't question if it is a scam pinkie like many others followed on ihub.
Five Guys is private. I struggle going to private companies that do well like Five Guys. Agreed that the meal is satisfying because everything is fresh.
Thanks for sharing. I'm a new investor. Looking for pennies that are not scan. Feeling good that I may have found one.
I'm long as of today.
Thanks for info. I will review and see where it goes. I was looking for Bitcoin when I came across this stock.
Agreed. It's a steal if you buy here and the price goes up. If the price goes down, it feels like you got robbed. I'll continue looking for best entry point.
Likely PPS at 1/2 of 52 week high is a good number. Large price swings in NTEK favor trading. New Longs will be sad paying more than $0.10. I would have been one of them had I let my buy order of 100000 @ 0.125 get executed.
Unable to hit IBox on my IPhone. Can someone please link website that shows product offerings?
