T'anks, Zeev...
zen, 24601 as replied about this before:

cheers
Bull-Dolphin, I wouldn't underestimate the support requirements. It's a new field, and the initial demands MAY be high...
x-point/ramsey, thanks for the dialogue...it has helped my understanding immeasurably.
nelz, no TPM reference. GIF in large below:

OT: how some of my engineers think...
one, considering the fact that it's midnight-ish on the east coast, and most posters are around, I would think your assumption on lack of expertise a bit premature.
btw, I don't have the expertise...I don't know the answer. I expect an email to info@wavesys.com would get you an answer. They've always replied to me.
Cheers.
THANKS to Unclevername...
Something from the transcript that I missed the two times I listened...
...this is a chip that is built today by Atmel, by National Semiconductor, and by Infineon. What happened to STMicro?
And I would have liked for SKS to address how (if at all possible) A computer with a TPM could prevent the MSBlast/ILoveSAN virus from happening. either with today's implementation, or in the future with what he knows EMBASSY is capable of.
plymton, the VERY FIRST LINE is all that needs to be read...
Microsoft Corp. is testing anti-virus and other security technologies to see if they could boost customers' perception of Windows,
That's a Yahoo induced rumor. I put no stock in it.
Zeev, re: pioneers, great line. I'll have to use it the next time I'm in a meeting with some colleagues that have analysis paralysis.
barge (and tampa) NOBODY knows what the take up rate of the $39.99 software package will be, or the activation of the services related to the NSM and INTC deployments. And that's the meat on the bones...
Assumptions can be made, and I"m sure that the S&M guys at Wave have a level of confidence in those assumptions, but until 4Q03 and 1Q04 it really won't be known...
Dutch,
there any chance you're overestimating the full year revenues as customers will activate on average half way during the year ?
I have not included any recurring revenues in my "forecast". I may be overestimating, but not due to that. All numbers are straight one-time events...
Based on past posting history, I can understand why you say that.
What you don't seem to realize is that the folks at Wave don't let much stop them. What may seem to be an unsurmountable problem to you is merely a bump on a well planned out road for them.
Dutch, not enough info yet. There are many streams of revenue, but too many assumptions to make.
1) IBM. 4 million deployed, perhaps 8 million by the end of 2004. Assuming 10% of owners buy the Wave Services Suite, that results in about $31 million by the end of 2004
2) NSM royalties. Unknown are the volumes deployed, AND the royalty rate. I think a conservative Royalty for the IP is $0.50 per chip, and a conservative number of TPM by the end of 2004 is 2million. That would add another $1 million.
3) NSM Services. Wave Services bundled with NSM will be activated, but the activation rate is unknown. It's a logical assumption that at least half of the people that purposefully purchase a secure PC will want secure PC services. I assume a conservative 30%, resulting in an additional (almost) $24 million by EOY2004.
4) INTC royalties have been bracketed between $0.50 and $1.50 per board. I am assuming 2 million for them also by EOY2004, with the same activation rate as NSM, adding $2 mill in royalties and $24 million in product fees.
Without adding any HP/Infineon, FINREAD, any gov't stuff with Maximus, Cubic or TecSec, or any TAN services, the estimated revenues (MY ESTIMATE ONLY) is about $83,000,000
I am continually revising these numbers as more info comes to light. But it ll looks good to me...
tooling around, google-ing and looking at old Wave news and came across the 2 smartmoney pieces in '99 and 2000 by our good buddy Hakim...
What a gas...
Listening to the CC the 2nd time around, and it sounds better than the first time. Comments about how they can be more comfortable than the average investor because they (Wave) can see things that we can't.
And as was posted earlier, there are no real NEW things here, just confirmation that 'old' things are progressing as expected.
(love the edit feature)
agreed...and I would love to know how the next step goes...pushing the product.
p.s. re: 'IBM' software.
I asked customer support WHY only Canada and US available as shipping addresses and received the following reply:
Thanks for the interest in ETS.
The US version is the first release of ETS, international support and sales will be released shortly.
Since this was a pre-release on the website, we have a selected support plan until full release.
Stay tuned. More to come.

(in case anyone was interested)
only that the packe for sale on the web-site encmpasses more than just the ibm package. (as advertised "Available for IBM PCs with the Embedded Security Subsystem")
Not that big a deal, really. just notable
Ah, but there is a question (was a question?) The deployed IBM TPM were pre-TCG1.1b (if I remember correctly) and the Infineon that HP is deploying is current-TCG1.1b
I'm sure I'm a little off, but my understanding was that they were different animals. The CD set on the wave site is, (if I recall), compatible with both
CC indicated that HP would be able to use the software also...(have to listen again to be sure)
yaya re: freaky...watching the swarms of people in NYC while posting.
I have to get up aat the ungodly hour of 4:30 this morning to listen to this call...argh.
nope. Still in Singapore. Long term. Good job (any job is, these days). Extended trip back to Canada next summer about this time of year. Already let anyone that cares know that I will be unavailable for work August, 2004.
yaya, don't understand the question...
yaya, SKS did sound relaxed.
I'm comfortable with where Wave is (really comfortable). That said, I regret getting up early (EARLY) to listen to this. The replay would have been good enough.
(It's going to be freaky in NYC tonight!)
So,
I can't tell if SKS doesn't have a forecast for revenues...
SKS isn't comfortable with the forecast that the Sales and Marketing team has given him...
or if SKS has a forecast and has no intention of sharing it...
(GAWD it's early...yawn)
Thanks Kev. That's a big plus...
The curtain pulled back a bit more...
In the future, IT administrators and end users will also be able to upgrade the EMBASSY Trust Suite to the industry's most comprehensive portfolio of secure services, applications and utilities, from backup and migration of critical security data to identity services.

Will be interesting to see if the sequel is as good as the original...

Going back through the 'old' posts
100% agree on Princess Bride...and the book is even better (oops, sorry, this is not a book thread)
New Yawk, New Yawk...
I liked it. It was released here about 9 months ago...have it on DVD now (my teenage daughter loves it).
kevin, still haven't seen confirmation of the sub-comm chairmanship...
Have you received verification of that yet?
TIA
trustco, what were the sympoms? how did you know that you 'got the worm'?
(and I thought that was a tequila reference...)
