ferrgus...good post. eom
Charltuna...if the joint announcement between TTN and MeTV isn't suppose to be out until Monday probably they don't want to put it on site until then.
The pattern continues...someone is selling and someone is picking up the sold shares....
That's why I'm wondering if this ties into the LBS deal.
Willy, you don't know this yet. eom
Joe...he doesn't have my shares. eom
Charlie...I don't have any reason to give up yet. Friday's announcement was a start. I'm really waiting for a cable/and or dish contract. If that doesn't happen then.....
Wonder why this PR isn't listed on their site?
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/020123/232432_1.html
Willy QBID may have nothing the majors are interested in. Take a look at recent events. Can't blame him for no interest. He has no money to play with the big league so this has to be his start IMO.
I personally think Frank finally pulled the plum out of the pudding!!! Go Frank!!!!!!
Well I downloaded MeTV and I'm impressed everything requires a fee....so this is a fee based service and you know what? I think the g/l community will buy into it if there's a monthly fee to watch if. If it's paid video's I'm not sure but if it's 24/7 which Frank did not specifically mention I think this is a GREAT START! We have to wait until the announcement and there is nothing to watch until April.....
Joemoney...until an announcement it probably will stay like this. What's interesting is that there is still a lot of buying so it's not all bad yet IMO. I'm just wondering what the TTN 4 were doing in LA this week....do you have any ideas?
Charlie...what's your take on the consistant buying/selling of shares these past several weeks. Looks to me like some are dropped and then picked up.....
Willy...wonder what the TTN 4 went to LA for? What's there anyway? My initial reaction was no announcement on Friday.
Also, what's different from the available signal in the 2nd last email and the available signal in the September PR?
jcradio...what do you think it means? Are we ready to go? eom
Willy, and if I were a new investor reading this board and see how much you pushed this stock and now degrade it I'd run like hxll!!!! No new investors on this one I'd be saying.
Willy, this is my objection. You post for QBID for so many months. No problem. Great opportunity here. You then realize that QBID did not come through as PR's indicate. You get frustrated and post negative. No problem. At this point, I don't have any objections. It's when unsolicited, unprovoked, and in no response to posters posters start posting negative stuff about QBID...I personally think that hurts any future interest from new shareholders. None of us know whether this is going to work or not. Anyone who invests in this stock is taking a risk. I personally did not hold you responsible for posting about this stock and Frank not coming through. It's my decision to buy or not buy a stock or I'm a fool to buy it at someone else's recommendation if I haven't checked out what I think is going on.
Last week Willy you bought more according to you. At that time you were back to posting this stock isn't dead yet. No problem.
You see a new feature on Frank's site and say we've been there
before and you are frustrated. No problem.
My point is....none of us know whether TTN will be able to take advantage of the recent hoopla about gay tv but for sure
maybe some new shareholders may want to take a chance with
this stock. At .0009 it's a real chance and their chances
as they described in their 2/8 note on the website is
possibly 1 in 5 or 2 in 5. I perceive that as not a successful
trip. But.....if they get the 1 in 5 or better 2 in 5 then
our .009 is going to look different IMO.
JM .... first of all don't threaten me. Second, I was posting to Willy. If you want credible posts here then you will allow posters to challenge other posters content. If you want a onesided viewpoint then you can start pulling posts like Willy does. This is a fyi JM...and again I will repeat...don't threaten me.
Willy, last week you picked up shares and you were posting good things....now you're back to negative posting. Can't read your position here. Seems like if it fits you you post positive and if it doesn't you post negative. Just my opinion.
Willy, I notice you have no problem posting negatively about QBID. Do you have any positive thoughts on the newly intro'd ISP?
http://www.qbidisp.com
Thanks
BTW...wonder if they are going to PR the new ISP service on Monday?

Re: gaay r/s...I didn't think this was an operating company, is it? I do hope we get spared such an action on QBID. I'm still wondering if this high volume of shares has anything to do with the LBS deal. Anyone know?
Interesting Gay TV article...

NEW YORK
Looking to take advantage of what they say is a large and lucrative niche audience untapped by television programmers, two cable divisions of Viacom, MTV Networks and Showtime, are developing a plan to create the first cable channel aimed directly at gay viewers.
According to New York Times reporter Bill Carter, the still unnamed channel would be offered to cable system operators as a pay channel like HBO or Showtime — only much less costly at $5 or $6 a month — but it would also include advertising. MTV Networks and Showtime have conducted extensive audience testing and concluded that there is, as one Showtime executive put it, "near unanimous enthusiasm from gay viewers" for the concept.
No timetable has been set for the channel's possible start, but Gene Falk, the senior vice president for the MTV digital media group, said, "If things go right, we could be on within a year."
Betsy Frank, executive vice president for research for MTV Networks, said the gay channel had the potential to make the same "groundbreaking impact" that the Fox network, the WB network and the Black Entertainment Network had.
"We see this as the next step in what a television network is supposed to be," she said.
The idea, however, has yet to be presented to operators of cable and
satellite distribution systems. "Will the cable operators go for it?" said Matt Farber, a former MTV executive who has worked as a consultant on this project. "I guess we'll find out."
The programming, as described by several of the executives involved in the planning, would include acquired films, original series, imported series, news and information programs, talk shows, comedy shows and travel shows. Frank said that surveys of potential viewers had shown that gay viewers would be willing to pay a fee for "programming they're not getting but would like to have."
Joan Garry, the executive director for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, welcomed the plans for a gay channel, saying, "The flag I'm carrying is for visibility, and the more the better."
But she said the gay audience was diverse in makeup and taste and would not watch gay programming just to see gay programming.
"It will be all about the content. At the end of the day, if the content is smart, the channel will have a real shot," Garry said.

looks like Hertz can be added to the list of sponsors

Of course, if TTN were up and running coverage of this would be a big draw for their station.

Channelling the potential of gay TV market
By BILL CARTER
Thursday 24 January 2002
Looking to take advantage of what they think is a large and lucrative niche audience still untapped by television programmers, two cable divisions of the United States production company Viacom, MTV Networks and Showtime, are planning to create the first cable channel aimed directly at gay viewers.
The channel would be offered to American cable system operators as a pay channel like HBO or Showtime - only much less costly at $US5 or $US6 (about $A10-$A12) a month - but it would also include advertising. MTV Networks and Showtime have conducted extensive audience testing and concluded that there is, as one Showtime executive put it, "near unanimous enthusiasm from gay viewers" for the concept.
Betsy Frank, executive vice-president for research for MTV Networks, said the gay channel could have the same "groundbreaking impact" that the Fox network, the WB network and the Black Entertainment Network had.
The idea, however, has yet to be presented to operators of cable and satellite distribution systems. "Will the cable operators go for it?" says Matt Farber, a former MTV executive who has worked as a special consultant on the gay channel project.

No timetable has been set for the channel's possible start, but Gene Falk, the senior vice-president for the MTV digital media group, says: "If things go right, we could be on within a year."
TV Guide magazine has reported that a gay channel was under consideration at MTV Networks and Showtime.
The presence of gay characters on television has increased in recent years, but the proposed gay channel would take that trend to a new level.
The programming, as described by several of the executives involved, would include acquired films, original series, imported series, news and information programs, talk shows, comedy shows and travel shows. Frank said that surveys had shown that gay viewers would be willing to pay a fee for "programming they're not getting but would like to have".
The channel is aimed at exploiting the increasing channel capacity now possible because of the expansion of digital television on cable and direct satellite systems. And gay adults are an increasingly attractive audience for many advertisers, because of their relatively high spending and because they are often in the vanguard of certain cultural trends.

For many of the shares let go these past 2 weeks, looks to me like (except for yesterday) someone(s) were picking them up.
Do you think it's TTN picking them up from the sellers if it is for services?
Format here looks good! Thanks!
Hopefully QBID gets a signed contract soon and picks up these:

Gay Games goes for gold
Record numbers register to compete
A record number of athletes have registered for the Sydney 2002 Gay Games VI, organisers have revealed, taking the toll past the half-way mark.
A total of 7,193 men and women from around the world have registered to participate in the games, which see queers from around the world participate in a range of sporting and cultural events.
"We are delighted that we are tracking so well," said Sydney 2002 CEO Geoffrey Williams, "but people must remember we have a limited number of participatory positions and it really is a case of first come, first served."
For events that have already reached maximum figures, such as swimming, waiting lists are now in place.
The sports and cultural festival will take place in Sydney from 25 October to 9 November. There are 31 sports scheduled in 45 venues across the city, plus a range of participatory arts events that can take up to 1,600 registrants.

COLUMN: Gay network wouldn't spread sexuality, porn
By Amanda Harris
Arkansas Traveler (U. Arkansas)
01/18/2002
(U-WIRE) FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- He wakes each day with the realization that almost every person who surrounds him disagrees with the decisions he makes behind closed doors. He drinks from the same water fountain as those who detest him. He sits next to those people in class. He votes. And he'll never have to move to the back of the bus.
Women's suffrage and civil rights seem a distant struggle for many in 2002. But in reality, there is another movement brewing beneath the surface of what seems to be a stagnant and tolerant society.
This movement is much more pivotal because no law deters this segment of society from participating; there is no official stance in opposition to it.
There is an entire segment of society that is unrecognizable to the naked eye. Unlike the women's suffrage movement, they may not be recognized by their gender. Unlike the civil rights movement, these people may not be recognized because of the hue of their skin.
These citizens are identified only when they choose to be. They are gay.
And recently there have been rumors of a new source of entertainment for the gay community. Showtime and MTV have spoken of a collaborative effort to create a television network that targets the gay community.
The network will be fed from a combination of advertisers and subscribers alike. But not without an immense amount of opposition. There are a myriad of reasons that the opposition can be found at fault and several truths that make the argument with the potential network seem ludicrous.
When the infamous Dr. Laura began her battle with any faction of society that didn't lean hard to the right, she was boycotted. She incessantly wages war against those that stray from what she considers "moral." She denounces homosexuality on moral grounds. I admire the woman. She has no qualms about the flak she'll receive from the ever-vocal left. She deserves the criticism.
She deserves the right to receive it because she is a citizen and can express her views. Boycotting Dr. Laura's sponsors in an attempt to silence her is effective and yet on some levels wrong. It's wrong because power is not indicative of truth, and those with the loudest voice should not silence others.
Dr. Laura is the most excellent parallel for the coming gay network. This is a blatant inconsistency: Silence those we disagree with. The next taste of ignorance comes with the notion that a gay network would provide explicit material or that it would promote a gay lifestyle to the "non-gay."
Homosexuality is not indicative of promiscuity. A disagreement with the lifestyle or of a person's choice of sexuality is not wrong, but an assumption that one sexuality is more "sexual" is preposterous. Showtime and MTV are not collaborating to create a gay porn network. The other notion, that a gay network would either spread homosexuality or pressure some to turn to the "dark side," also is inaccurate.
A gay network would not create a sudden gay epidemic. When Lifetime (television for women) debuted, how many men found the urge to become women?
In reality, a gay network will be a choice. And in places like Northwest Arkansas, it would probably be virtually impossible to receive the network without a gargantuan rainbow satellite dish atop the roof of your house.
