Even though I don't particularly care for Grisham's type of music....
http://www.truesoundsofliberty.com/online.htm
I guess the fact that he IS into music will place him just above the porno star Mary Cook, who's way above porn publisher Flynt, but still behind the thong-selling business woman Georgy Russell. Gallagher is still ahead of them all so far though, lol.
Still have to rank the American Indian tribal chairman, the discount cigarette retailer, the used car salesman, the golf pro, the sumo wrestler, the police officer, an artist, Gary Coleman, Edward Thomas Kennedy, (no, not A Kennedy) Michael Jackson, (no, not THE MJ) the commissioner, a one name entrant... Angelyne, (can't wait to see what she does, lol) and about a hundred others.
Prolly a waste of time as Arnuhld is looking like the winner so far.
Now I ask you, are any of these people qualified to handle the 5th largest economy in the world??
SACRAMENTO –The California Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency (TTCA) officially recognized two well-respected economic reports today that indicate the State’s $1.4 trillion economy was fifth largest in the world during 2000.
http://www.california.or.jp/jpn/publication/2001105thCA/5th.html
'Bout time you started cleaning out that overcrowded EDIG wing.
Only in California, lol.
I normally avoid politics like the plague, so had to look it up......
The March elections are for the Presidential and State Primary...NJ has them in June.
http://www.politics1.com/calendar.htm
Gov. Davis's 2nd term in office would normally have ended in Jan of '07. He was just sworn in this past Jan.
I have a funny feeling we're gonna go from the frying pan into the fire on this one. With the economy as it is, I don't know what exactly can be done differently or better.
But then WTHDIK.
Time to get the grill going, then work on my golf game...

As a former "Hashbury" resident who stayed waaay long after the party was over, my memory is not that great anymore, but....
Seems to me that it was only a couple of years ago that Cal. CUT the auto fees drastically. About in half, I think.
Well, enough about that...gotta start checking on the 135 candidates to replace Gov. Davis, lololol.
More waste of taxpayer money, imo.
SACRAMENTO -- The guesses started at $30 million, then boomed to $66 million. Now the cost of California's special Oct. 7 election to recall Gov. Davis appears to be anyone's guess.
Secretary of State Kevin Shelley says he doesn't know the exact cost, but elections supervisors throughout California all say the costs can only go higher as 135 candidates attempt to claim a sprawling tract house in suburban Sacramento that's used as the governor's mansion.

ksquared -
Who the h*e*l*l can afford a car out there
If this would have happened about 10-15 years ago, there's no way I could afford it. 'Course I wouldn't have been driving a 'Vette either...more like a Pinto probably.
But, when you have to save for a month to buy a new pair of socks, going from say, $36.00, to $54.00 ain't easy.
Like I said, this is going to create a lot of problems for a lot of people that are struggling just to get by.
ksquared - The taxes for my county went from 1.14% of the full value after exemptions for '00/01... to 1.197% for 01/02... to 1.21% for 02/03.
But...Because the State bought my previous home that was in the path of a planned new freeway, they had to give me the same old rate on a replacement home as long as it was of comparable value. (Since this one was twice the value of the old home, they only gave me 1/2 the difference.)
Also, I'm not sure, but I think there was a law passed several years ago limiting the amount they can increase the property tax each year.
In any event, new homeowners are paying a MUCH higher rate.
LOL! Who knows what will be happening by Feb.
Could even be recalling Arno by then.
Luckily, I'm in a position to be able to handle it with no problems financially, but this is going to be a real burden on a lot of people.
Article in today's newspaper stated they're still trying to stop the auto fee increase by replacing it with raising personal income taxes (2 new top income tax brackets) and higher taxes on cigarettes.
Only in California!
greg - It's an '02 Corvette, but still...150% increase??
LOL! I thought you were being polite at that!
EDIT: I mean with the original reply.
California's new vehicle registration fee's just hit home with todays mail.
Instead of dropping the normal 10% or so per year , this year it increased 150%!
Went from $309.00 last year to $773.00 this year!
Now, if only I could get 150% on all my trades......LOL.

Bet you have a better spike if you just turn it on its side, lol.
LOL! Thanks Larry. Hadn't heard that one before....had to laugh when the song mentioned horses.
You can twist it and distort it any way you want, but you said a '68 'Vette was not 5k in '68, and I showed you the base price was UNDER 5k in '68.
No "internet mumbo jumbo."
Now you want me to prove 35 years later that someone bought one for 5k? Show you a bill of sale? LOL!
I'm outta here....you can have the last post, lol.
Don't think you're right. He said you could buy one for 5k, and I showed you it could be done.
I seriously doubt dealers were getting more than twice the base price of $4,663.00 back then.
But....whatever.
Luck to you too!
crusader4truth stated that in 1968 you could buy a 'Vette for 5k
in 1968 you could buy a vette for 5K now it's 50K

You said a 'Vette was not 5k in 1968
a vette was NOT $5000 in 1968
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/replies.asp?msg=1309782
I just posted a link showing that in 1968 the base price for a Corvette was aprox. 5k.
And on 10/25/02, I went to a dealer and paid $45,730.00 base priece for a '02 'Vette. 'Course the bottom line with all the options, taxes, license, etc. ended up at $51,411.00
Do you always get this riled up when you're shown to be incorrect?
BTW, I paid $3,200.00 in 1964 for a '64 GTO.
of course you were not buying cars in 1968 obviously
And you could take a look at my profile, lol.
FWIW - 1968 'Vette info....

Gus - Couldn't find Double Vision on the few sites I have, lol.
Here's instructions on how to post charts/gifs and sounds...
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/faqh2post.asp
The hard part of doing sounds is finding free wav or mp3 sources.
There's a DJ board here...Wannabe and Larry post most of 'em, I do occasionally.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1654
Wantobe is the master at this...He's posted video's and lately just did a whole album at a time....

Just having fun, lol.
Someone mentioned Foreigner? It's not Double Vision, but...

You had the market pegged again, as usual.
You were either up late last night, or up early this morning when you sent that, lol.
Wantobe - Check post #2999 here, lol.
It was late and I figured you and Larry were both sound asleep, so I put it on for him.
And thanks for your posts yesterday, they got big grins from me.
I have the "Reckoning" bookmarked, but don't always get to it.
Court - I've been glancing at a few other 8-k's they've filed, and they are all great.
Plain, simple honest answers anyone can understand....Here's a question from another 8-k.
21. Who is the author of your 8K’s?
What does it matter? Every word of every 8-K published to this point was written and edited by employees of Expeditors. While this fact may be painfully apparent to an English major, these things are not “ghost” written nor are they produced by someone in the public relations or communications profession. This stuff is crafted by real people with full time day jobs.
The names of the primary contributors are not important, what does need to be understood is that these are inside responses to actual questions from shareholders and other interested members of the financial community.
We do want you to know that the production of these 8-K filings takes a significant amount of our time. We try to prepare complete and accurate responses. By answering questions in this manner, we think we’re providing a window into Expeditors in a manner that provides thoughtful transparency not available in alternative forums. If the questions ever stop coming, and they almost did in April 2003, we’ll have to assume that everyone knows enough and we’ll gladly stop writing. In the meantime, we will continue to write this stuff no matter who we actually happen to be.
Don't know if any of you saw this, but this is great reading, lol...

I forgot to mention DELL's site. I configured my own Dimension 8200 on the site. Once you find a model to your liking, you can add or subtract various options.
I put my order in on a Sunday evening, went with 2nd day delivery, ($20.00 extra, I think) and it was delivered 6 days later.
BTW - Dell was the first stock I ever bought back in May of '97 when I first entered the market. I added to it 4-5 times, and watched it split 5 times (6?) before selling around Oct. 2000. It's the only stock I know of that split 3 times in one calendar year.
Made a fortune with it, so figure I'll prolly be a loyal DELL customer for life in gratitude, lol.
schloss_1 - I'm using a year old DELL P4, 2.26 gig, 512 of RDRAM, 80 gig hard drive, XP, 19" Trinitron monitor and cable.
I went from a 200mmx, 64SRAM, 8 gig hard drive, Windows 98ME, with dial-up.
I've had no problems (other than self-inflicted) with it at all from day one.
Well, except for....I did have to strap myself in for the first couple of weeks due to the speed, lol.
Cool! Good choice too,lol.
Susie - FWIW, it works fine for me.
And thank you....and LoDi and Larry.... for the tunes!
Thanks Larry. That's gotta be at least the 4th cut off his last CD that's made the top 20. (And that one is not one of the better ones, lol.)
Thanks! Gotta be quick, huh? lol.
Larry - Can you do "It's 5-O'Clock Somewhere" from the Country top 20? TIA
PS Anything from Keith Urban is always appreciated. Kid's gonna be a BIG star.
Anyone - Why do I seem to be the only one that has problems getting, or posting, tunes from Geocities?
I get this message every time...
http://www.geocities.com/wavsus151/martinamcbridewherewouldyoube.wav
I know the TEST board iBOX says Geocities doesn't allow linking, but ya'll seem to have no probs.
You can't all be on WebTV?
