I just canceled my method original of payment, which was thru PayPal. It kept coming out of the wrong bank account. I'm paying through a CC now.
We have 2 way radios here at my job because of the size of this plant. One of My co -workers from another department just called me so that I can show others here how good Viva is. He also said he has had enough of his direct tv bill constantly changing, which he said is currently at $220 a month. And I thought I was paying a lot at $158 a month.
No issues here at all either.
I saw tru tv also. I'm looking at the channels list every day now, and it going up continuously. At one time it was as low as 279 when they got rid of the premium channels. It's now at 302. And almost all of the additional channels are Spanish channels. I'm sure Spanish channels are now well over 50! So to be honest, it was nice to see tru tv. WGN out of Chicago would be another one too. I'm not going to even worry about a channel like that now, I'm pretty sure the answer will be it's coming soon. hahaha
Extremely well said, and very thought out!
So glad to have u here Thor!
Boy, does this sound familiar to what some like to say about Viva's CEO? hahaha:

Netflix is not sustainable. The top tier at Neflix is running the borrow until you go bankrupt scam. They'll all get big salaries and big bonuses and laugh at their lenders as they ride into the sunset in chauffeur driven cars.

Gotta agree with your wife. Us southerners can be pretty smart as you know, hahaha. Still trying to be patient with the those channels. Getting a little worrisome though.
Yes should know that one. But I'm teased a lot down here because I don't know a lot of those phrases, lol. Anyway, I guess this one is more than a simple switching aroumd of channels, because usually these things are resolved in a day or two.
I've never heard that one before, and I'm from the south. I like it! lol
That would go big score, (see what I did) being that Sling and Dish refused to pay FOX the extra money for FS1, which means no Big 10 games for hundreds of thousands of Big 10 fans this year. But it's hard to think sports channels now. For real.
Trust me, a lot if us did that a little while back. I can only speak for myself as of now. I will start hitting Facebook once again but only after they bring the premium channels back, and get their movies downloaded and DVR functional. Those are what I call the absolute essentials if we would like to see people sign up in what is becoming increasingly competitive field.
Indeed!
We all know the numbers at these stages are pretty insignificant. But I'm convinced now that they are in fact tabulating by tiers. I subscribed to the platinum package on September 20th using paypal, and I was #399. The real numbers won't come till everything is up and running. As they make inroads into Triad 3 million customers, and huge markets like New York, LA, and Chicago then we will see Viva's number jump significantly. Hope like Hell they really and truly are ready with the set top boxes if needed, and a huge influx in customer service and tech support questions. The one thing I can say about Direct TV is that things like replacement remotes, and those crappy modems were at my house in a day or two tops.
I could be wrong, but in this case I'm sure it started off as a joke on Twitter when someone posted a snapshot about Verizon losing 18,000 video customers in the 3rd Q. Somehow it snowballed into a Viva Verizon hookup in March. It was all just a joke though.
I can't remember which premiem channel it was, but it had the black box around the edges of the sceeen, and I couldn't get a full screen. That was the only thing I could fault them on. But I was only looking on my phone. Maybe on a big screen the picture quality wasn't up to par?
Even though it was about Verizon, thanks for the heads up. I'm selling first thing in the morning. hahahaha
Same here, I signed up for the platinum service as well. Once again it was so that I can showcase the company to those I come in contact with. Every time, and I mean every time people have seen the 2 CINEMAX channels, the 2 SHOWTIME channels, and the 4 HBO channels, that always gave Viva legitimacy. Being patient.
Isn't it amazing the reaction you get from people when the see the quality of Viva compared to what they currently have. It's killing me that the movies and premium channels aren't up yet. I can't go balls to the wall with the sales pitch when people see me looking at Viva. As I left work last Sunday, I was watching football games, and I had to have got at least 6 or 7 people asking what is that company! Can't say it enough, this will sell itself.
Interesting take from a comment board about Verizon's OTT delay:
Too late for any more competitors, Verizon. Stay away.
The video entertainment market will be divided up between Facebook & YouTube on the ad-supported/free side and (pick four) Netflix/Amazon/Disney/Apple/HBO Now/Hulu/CBS All Access on the ad-free/subscription side.
Any would-be competitors need to do what Netflix did. No, not make a bunch of shows and stream them for cheap. I mean disrupt the status quo. Become the next Netflix that everyone is cursing for spoiling the party.
How to do that? Give people what they actually want and figure out a business model to make it work. People used to go to a stupid video store and rent DVDs for $4 each if everything good wasn't already gone by the time they got there, and the price would go way up when they inevitably forgot to return the DVD in time. Netflix succeeded by disrupting that crap and figuring out how to pay for it (internet delivery streamlines costs and allows huge efficiencies of scale through serving a global market).
Now people have to subscribe to a dozen damn streaming service to find what they want. It's expensive, it's a bother, there's too much content anyway. What people want is a single meta-service that delivers what they want, at the speed they want, for the price they want, and who cares where it comes from. Some help in just curating the chaos would be good too. You feed in some parameters and this service tells you hey you'd probably like shows A, B and C, and movies D, E and F this month for X cost at Y rate of delivery. Hit the button to sign up or move the sliders to change the variables to what you do want.
So there's your great big hint on how to become the next Netflix in lieu of the current wishful thinking and useless wheel-spinning we are currently observing.
I can't see Verizon shelving their OTT plans all together, and merge with Viva. (But man wouldn't it nice!!) But they have announced they are having some major problems getting their service up and running. Verizon have said the delays are due to technical issues, staff turnover, and complications in programming rights negotiations. This is the second time Verizon have delayed plans for their OTT service. March of next year is now the planned date for Verizon's streaming service.
I feel u on the needless PR's. But if I remember correctly. Johnny Boy got hot under the collar about a month ago when flippers were screaming for PR's on Twitter. He said it was an unnecessary waste of money, and he wasn't going to release them just for the heck of it. This thing is really serious if you are going up against the well established. I still think they don't want to look fly by night if at least the essentials aren't in place. I sort of compare what Viva has to offer to purchasing a car today. You may not need a heated steering wheel, (local channels), or messaging seats, (sports channels). But you better have by today's standards, the absolute essentials. A radio, (quality streaming), air bags, (movies/DVR ) and anti lock brakes, (premium channels). Everyone's needs are a little different, so just insert things as you feel, but I hope that makes sense.
Thanks JFK1, and Bruins0704.
Maybe I should go over and take a look at the movies Netflix is offering. You've got to be the third person to have said the movies from Netflix are not that good. People were acting as if Netflix had movies currently in the movie theaters. I thought they were the macaroni and the cheese!
A little company called Netflix have done fairly well on movies lately. And prior to that companies like Blockbuster Video, and Hollywood Video in in some regions of the country were rather lucrative until they decided to drag their feet in the video industry. You may be correct. The market may not react favorably if a PR is released saying movies are done. But the market will react big time to subscription numbers, and favourable reviews. But with quality streaming currently provided by Viva, they have come out the opposite of Netflix and HULU. And with nearly 300 live channels, with nearly 50 catering to those in the Latino community,(HULU, Play Station Vue barley have 60 live channels total), Viva are setting themselves up on truly solid footing. Also, you may be in the minority, but almost everyone I know loooooooves movies. Happy trading
I had it too whitie. And I mean big time around Wednesday and Thursday. But it was only when I streamed via Wi-Fi. When I switched over to data, it was smooth as silk. So I just attributed it to my service here at home, so I didn't ask anyone here on IHUB if they were having the same issues. I also thought it may have had something to do with them finalizing the movies. But as of yesterday, it's running A-1 on Wi-Fi again. Got my box Thursday also, so if you don't mind, I will probably be hittin you up.with questions if I run into snags. You and ChillinZX have a lot of different set ups.
Hahaha. You kill me. Too funny!!
Exactly acampors. We don't have to totally dominate the market to be be wildly successful. I don't really like to read some of the post stating goodbye Netflix, or we're going to put Sling out of buissnes etc. Only the companies who don't stay ahead of the curve, offer crappy quality service, or a crappy rushed out product are the ones who put themselves out of buisness. Blockbuster was one who didn't make adjustments as Netflix came on the scene, and I can remember Circuit City didn't make adjustments fast enough in an ever changing market. Best Buy was holding on for a while there. But back to us, I think there is more than enough room in this segment for those who provide quality service. One size dosent fit all. Some will stick with Sling, others Play Station vue, others HULU. Call me nuts, and I'm sure there will be those who are going to do just that with what I'm about to say. But even if there's not a hard launch in the next month or two, as long as the movies and DVR, and premium channels are in are in place, this is going to all but take off on its own. I can't help but go back to New York again with 8.6 million strong living there. You have your 100,000 right there. And with all those Spanish speaking channels, the Latino contingent are all but locked up. No mention of Middleware, Triad Wireless, or Customers having their own ability to create their own channels, VIVA should be just fine.
Awesome post whitie. Nice to read calm words at times. Good luck to the Illini at Minnesota today!
Not a Star Trek fan. But for CBS to play with die hard Trek fans in this way, is just wrong. I'm sure u know they are tryng to get subscribers for their streamkng service with this stunt. They thought you guys would pony up to watch no matter what if they aired that first episode free. Could very well backfire.
Thank you. I'll have movie theater butter if you don't mind. lol
Acampors, I had to read that one over and over about 7 or 8 times myself. Leave out one letter, and no punctuation marks, and it makes a huge difference. Too funny looking back.
Didn't know so people had Coulrophobia. Just having fun on a light day here on the hub.
Thanks, I went back and tried to find it on their Twitter page, but couldn't. Would like to take a look at it. With the NBA season kicking off now, it would to Viva's advantage to tell their subscribers, or better yet, potential subscribers, which channel it's on, and to take a look if it's readily available now. And the fact that that JF said he was talking to FOX sports last night, speaks volumes about where there heading!
Yep. I picked that up from acampors also. The CEO of Flexfling is also on Viva's BOD also. I've just wanted Viva to also give us teasers of movies like huge blockbusters that may have just left movie theaters in the past few months also. We can't get what the likes of Netflix has, but I'm fine with what they just finished showing us today. A lot of people, including my wife, are really busy, and now she will be able to catch up on a ton of series she missed on tv the pass year or so. She's really into really creepy stuff. I don't get it, but....... for better or for worse is what I said when we got married. lol
I'm finally feel somewhat better. I was asking Viva for a teaser of their upcoming movies about a week ago. What we got today was even better.
I can remember JF asking, "how does $6.99 a month for 10,000 movies sound" a while back. So I'm pretty sure it should be right around there.
Are they (VIVA) offering NBA League Pass?
I don't know if acampors gets nearly enough, or the just amount of credit he deserves. Just saying.
Someone should sticky this one too I think!!!
