Hauppauge Unveils Wireless MediaMVP for Home Networks
Thursday January 5, 10:19 am ET
MediaMVP Wireless Set-Top Receiver, Priced at $149.00, Allows Users to View And/Or Listen to PC-Based Music, Video, and Pictures From Anywhere in the House
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2006--Hauppauge Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAUP - News), a leading developer and manufacturer of digital video, TV, and data broadcast receiver products for personal computers, announced today at the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES®), the debut of its wireless MediaMVP.

The latest version of the MediaMVP is a wireless set-top decoder device for home 802.11G networks that will enable TV sets to access PC-based Music, Video and Pictures ("MVP") via wireless networks for a retail price of 149.00. The wireless MediaMVP uses the 802.11G wireless standard, common in most consumer wireless access points, in order to best support MPEG and DivX video playback.
"Our MediaMVP will turn any TV set or home entertainment system into a playback device for PC based music, digital pictures and videos," stated Ken Plotkin, Hauppauge's Chief Executive Officer. "Now, with the new MediaMVP's wireless connectivity, PC users can access and enjoy MPEG and DivX videos, MP3 music, family photos or other multimedia files on their TV set, from any room in the house. And by using common 802.11G wireless networks, we can provide full speed wireless playback of DVD quality videos from your PC to your TV set."
Using MediaMVP, for example, individuals can play a video on their bedroom TV that's stored on a PC in the basement, or show JPEG photos of a recent vacation--accompanied by MP3 music--on the family room big screen TV with the MP3 music played through their living room audio system.
MediaMVP is suitable for home theater systems as well as plasma screens, TV monitors, and conventional TV sets. It supports MPEG-1/MPEG-2 videos, DivX videos, JPEG and GIF digital pictures, and MP3 music files. Other audio and video formats, including Windows Media Center Edition recordings, will be supported in future releases of MediaMVP software.
Onscreen Menu
Navigating multimedia files from the TV is easy using MediaMVP's remote control and TV onscreen menu.
Pictures are a snap to select using the thumbnails displayed in MediaMVP's photo directories. Simply click on the "Play" or "OK" buttons on the remote control, and the selected photo will appear on the TV screen. With MediaMVP's slideshow function, it's easy to view holiday digital pictures and also playback digital music through your TV set.
Videos are played in the same way, with stop, pause, and fast forward/reverse controls available on the remote.
Continuous pictures and music shows can be set up for family parties on the PC, and then played through the TV or home entertainment system via the home network. MediaMVP will play M3U, B4S, PLS and ASX music playlists from Music Match, Windows Media Player and Winamp.
Powerful Expansion Capabilities
In addition to its other features, MediaMVP is designed to work with a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR, where the WinTV can be used to record videos onto the PC's hard disk and then played back through the MediaMVP. By installing a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR in their PC, users can create a complete home TV and digital media distribution system. TV shows, sporting events, movies and more can be recorded or time shifted; viewers can even see their own custom instant replays without missing any of the remaining program.
Wireless MediaMVP is based on an IBM PowerPC, and runs on the Linux open-source operating system, enabling it to support numerous upgrades. Current A/V connection options include S-video, composite video and RGB, plus stereo audio output and S/PDIF audio out. The MediaMVP is compatible with any PC running Windows XP.
Pricing and Availability
Hauppauge's wireless MediaMVP set-top decoder device will be priced at $149.00, and will be available for purchase starting this month. For more information about the MediaMVP, or any of Hauppauge's other digital video TV and data broadcast receiver products, visit www.hauppauge.com.

Let’s remember the fallen miners in our prayers tonight
An AAPL a day keeps the therapist away LOL
STX hits 21, smart money is in that one
ATVI traded more than twice its float in the past 10 days. Primed to go.
STX cool, RGEN cool. For those who missed the RGEN story due to the holidays, see the reply link.
STX moving back up after that inexplicable horrible dip
Biggest short battle of 2006 (subsequent to TNOG and BIDU) will be in AAPL. I say AAPL goes to 100 and kicks shorter ass.
ATI Cramer's pick for 2006
NMGC about to see 10
RGEN going for the 52-week high. Nice 10-year chart.
RGEN looks like it's time it goes higher
ARSD a real oil co, and a good deal
AAPL breaking 52-week high!!!
TNOG trade is here. Take your profits and run!!!
ASH man nearing 60
I'm not going to be stereotypical and say all pink sheet companies are worthless hopeless, but I'm no longer naive enough to pump them in order to gratify the pilfering of market makers. I might mention one or two sometimes, but that is it. Anything more would just be playing into the hands of the scamsters. You have to trust a lot of people in order to put your money in a pink sheet stock, a lot of people you don't know about; many people don't even know that, they think pink sheet stocks (all penny stocks for that matter) are the same as big board stocks.
AAPL nice
Wow TNOG volume 10 million. Who gives a shit! It only costs an MM $1 a day to trade a pink sheet stock as many times as they want.
Yeah, I got the same email. Use logic when investing/trading people. I lost more money on TNOG than I care to shit on LOL. The MM's want you to buy a sick company so that they can take your money. Remember there are no rules in pink sheet land; just ponder carefully what that means.
TNOG might as well send your money direct to the MM's. The company has nothing going for it, and it is in no way capable of becoming an oil company. Dilution also a likely threat. I rather have my money in a big board stock that moves 0.01% per day than that dead dog.
NMGC not in, but looks like it will break 10 soon. Keep an eye on it.
ATVI short interest has now exceeded float LOL
ATVI turning green, could make quite a recovery with only a 13 million or so float
RGEN leaves land of 3 again(so it seemed)
Darn missed the bottom of DECK
AAPL blowing up
.HAPPY NEW YEAR
That or they buy RGEN out since it only has a $124 million market cap

Repligen Shares Finish Up on Orencia OK
Tuesday December 27, 5:19 pm ET
Repligen Shares Close Up 19 Percent on FDA Approval for Drug Ingredient It Claims Patent To
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Repligen Corp. spiked Tuesday after investors learned it claims to own the patent for an ingredient in a newly approved drug.
Repligen shares closed up 61 cents, or 19 percent, at $3.80 on the Nasdaq, after the company was mentioned on a midday cable business news program, and investors took note of its claims to a patent for a component of a treatment that got a nod from the Food and Drug Administration before the holiday weekend.

Shares earlier hit a new 52-week high of $4.24. In aftermarket electronic trading, Repligen shares added another 4 cents.
Late Friday, Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. said the FDA approved a new drug to treat rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic disease that afflicts more than 2 million Americans. The drug, abatacept, is to be marketed as Orencia.
Repligen claims on its Web site to hold the U.S. patent that covers the use of the active compound in Orencia for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, CTLA4-Ig, for cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4, and specifically mentions the Bristol-Myers FDA application for Orencia.
Repligen also said it owns the rights to a European patent with similar treatment claims. The U.S. patent is in force until 2021, and in Europe until 2013, according to the Web site.
Representatives for Repligen could not be immediately reached for comment.
Analyst Elemer Piros of Rodman and Renshaw said in a research note it "appears that Bristol-Myers may have to seek a license from Repligen in order to have freedom to operate" or face triple damages if a court finds they infringed on the patent.
"Given this situation, we expect either a swift settlement during the next 60 days or a legal battle between the parties," Piros wrote. Bristol-Myers said Friday it expects to launch the drug in February.
"The settlement size is likely to be considerable, given that the potential peak annual sales for Orencia are estimated at $1 billion in the rheumatoid arthritis market," Piros speculated.
However, Piros did outline in his note a history of litigation regarding the patent that did not go Repligen's way, and he said the two companies are at a stalemate over the matter.
Bristol-Myers spokesman David Rosen said the company is aware of Repligen's "method of use patent," but said that did not imply any acknowledgement that the patent applies to Orencia. Rosen could not say whether the companies are in discussions to resolve any conflict, but he was "not aware of any ongoing litigation" concerning the claims.
Bristol-Myers shares closed up 15 cents, at $23.09 on the New York Stock Exchange, and added another penny in aftermarket activity.
RGEN is really about getting in first. Company owns an ingredient of potentially 1+ billion dollar per year products. This is not penny stocks, this is big boards.
HAUP 10K out, and the way it was written says this company wants to survive. Will get in, but not yet.
RGEN great time to get in-look at its 10 year chart
UARM suspect a short squeeze on that one
ATVI now over 14, looks good
ASH 59 WOOHOOOO!!!
