Don't let the truth scare you!
Yes, it is significant that Eco Red Shield's ESR-3255 is suspended. Not having ICC-ES onboard with Eco's AWPA compliance claims is very problematic. Also, Eco's LARR and Honolulu Listings are COMPLETELY based on their ICC-ES ESR, so those two reports are effectively suspended now, too. They will find out about it!
If somebody tries to claim the QAI and ICC-ES situations are not significant developments, then question the source of that claim. If they aren't significant, then why have an ESR or QAI Listing, right? They aren't free, and in fact, they are actually quite expensive. Your argument of non-significance just lost all its water.
A previous poster is correct though, an ESR is not required to sell a building product. It just helps grease the skids, especially when your type of product is not recognized in the I-Codes, such as Eco Red Shield (paint-on preservatives and fire retardant for structural wood applications). ICC-ES's bread and butter is based on IBC 104.11, which is the Alternate criteria, which is for products not specified in the I-codes. Don't just trust me though, go read it.
But, we know why you guys say none of this stuff matters. The same reason you say that it mattered before.
