Kris Bryant homer measured 495'...
longest homerun hit in MLB this year. 111MPH exit velocity.
2-4-11 please
Jake Arrietta threw 83 then 95 MPH on consecutive pitches yesterday.
Good thing I wore my lucky shirt.
Going to Wrigley Field today. Watch for me. I'll be wearing a blue Cubs shirt.
Baez 3 for 3 with a walk through 5 innings. Really need to exchange him for a less prolific hitter.
Cubs just passed Toronto for most walks taken.
Some little kid at Wrigley just said he's having the best weekend of his life! Texas Longhorns cap and Cubs shirt. Texas is playing Notre Dame tomorrow.
We might have to keep Addison Russell
Good thing the Nationals let Bryce Harper season a few years...
Instead of trading him away for a less prolific hitter:
Buster Olney ?@Buster_ESPN
Bryce Harper saw 20 pitches last night w/o swinging, 2nd-most in any game last 10 yrs. The most (incredibly, improbably):Juan Uribe 21, 2010
========================================
Bryce Harper vs off speed pitches by year:
2015 .326 (57 for 175)
2014 .176 (23 for 131)
2013 .202 (42 for 208)
2012 .264 (70 for 265)
What’s wrong with Jeff Samardzija?
http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/31/whats-wrong-with-jeff-samardzija/
We got Addison Russell for Samardzija and now you think we should unload Russell.
Maybe we can trade Addison Russell to you guys and we'll take Samardzija back. NOT!!! Bwaaahhhhhhahaha
I'm glad Theo is running our side of town and not the Kenny and Rick show.
.
.
.
Bingo!
Well said. You get a gold star.
A certain White Sux fan thinks the Cubs may have to trade one of their young studs for a less prolific hitter that has speed and does not strike out every other time up to the plate
Bwaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Buster Olney ?@Buster_ESPN
ESPN Stats/Info: Clayton Kershaw induced 35 swings and misses Wednesday against SF, the most by any pitcher in a game in the last 10 seasons
SF may have to trade one of their young studs for a less prolific hitter that has speed and does not strike out every other time up to the plate.

Good thing the Nationals didn't use your logic the last few years.
At least your announcers are at the top of the schitt list...
To bad they rank worst first. Maybe you can get a participation trophy or something.
Sox #30
Cubs #5
http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/your-mlb-local-tv-announcer-rankings.html
Team value...
Cubs are 5th at $1.8 billion
Sux are 16th at $975 million (about half)
http://www.forbes.com/mlb-valuations/list/
Team attendance...
Cubs are 6th at 2,416,887
Sux are 26th at 1,508,184 (counting from the bottom, you're fifth best)
http://espn.go.com/mlb/attendance
Double ouch there buddy.
Rub a little Tarn-X on that old trophy. Maybe a few ideas might come out of it.
Well, Mr. 1 fer 98 years and counting...
your disappointment certainly comes from experience.
Theo has another year on his contract. I'm guessing an extension is in his future.
http://www.hngn.com/articles/120690/20150818/chicago-cubs-rumors-theo-epstein-contract-extension-discussions-to-begin-soon-can-team-afford-him.htm
How is your team's structure?
Start from the top.
GM? Is it Kenny or Rick?
Manager? Robin needs a batman
Coaches(new manager might want to pick his coaches unless they go cheap(insert Robin again))?
Players? You need a DH, 3rd, SS, 2nd and catcher. You have a little power at 1st and that's it. Oh, you'll need more than 1 starting pitcher too.
Minors? Back to the organizational list, you're 20th, so nothing there.
What will you guys do to curb 97 out of 98 years of disappointment? When you did win, your own fan base didn't care. How disappointing was that??
Is your winnings based on your wager or is the entry price standard?
Houston set the strikeout record in 2013...
this year, they're right behind the Cubs:
http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/sort/strikeouts/type/expanded/order/true
How's that working out for them, challenging their own record?
(hint: you'll get to watch them in October)
I don't think they need to re-stock anything.
Pretty happy exactly where they're at:

LOL...
maybe we should dump Kris Bryant and Addison Russell.
That would have save us 282 K's this year alone.
Probably get at least a couple boxes of baseballs.
Psst, don't quit you're day job. ;)
http://www.baseball-almanac.com/recbooks/rb_strike2.shtml
They got a shot at the record. Need a few more than ten a game the rest of the way.
http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/k-s-are-ok-stanton-trout-can-be-both-mvps-and-free-swingers-090214
I don't think they're dumping any of their young studs.
What the Cubs did the last 4 years is not going to be tossed out for a quick splash. This team is set up well. Everybody in baseball knows it.
Have you won at DraftKings? Not sure how it works.
I think...
Bryant, Russell, Baez, Rizzo, Soler are penciled in for the foreseeable future.
We have Montero behind the plate through 2017 so if Schwarber is gonna stick, left field is his.
Gonna have an opening in center as Fowler is only signed for this year.
That pretty much covers it. I don't think they are going to trade much in prospects to win it all this year. Probably going to chalk it up to growing pains.
At .282, Rizzo has the highest average this year.
If taking any Cubs...
go with Kris Bryant or Dexter Fowler and that's about it. We fall off pretty fast after that.
Schwarber .220 over last 30 games, .176 over last 7 games.
Hitting and pitching is not our specialty...
hanging out in the second wild card spot is.
Yes. Happened at Wrigley earlier in the season.
No...
David Price will be with the Cubs next year.
Hey Starlin, come to my office.
Who can pitch?
I'll take anyone.
He's got a better chance...
of making the playoffs than Chris Sale. What a waste of talent there. Probably have to trade him away for some prospects. Kinda like we did with Jeff Samardzija.
Is Austin Jackson any good?
Yes, that would be called having fun.
If you're done dusting off that trophy...
the one that took you 88 years to get, add the 10 years since and you're 1 fer 98.
Much better than the Northside, I gotta give you that.
Not many people remember it though and it's not due to Alzheimer's. More like lack of interest.
You remember that 3 game series in September 2005?
How many showed up?
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/wrap.jsp?ymd=20050906&content_id=1199783&vkey=wrapup2005&fext=.jsp&team=home
16,000 average = nobody cared. LOLOLOL.
.
.
.
9 KO's a game this year...
and 19 games over .500
This point last year they were 14 games below .500
And they're just getting started.
Did you say you were a White Sox fan?
.
.
Mr. October leads the strikeout list...
http://mlb.mlb.com/stats/sortable.jsp#elem=%5Bobject+Object%5D&tab_level=child&click_text=Sortable+Player+hitting&game_type='R'&season=&season_type=ALL&league_code='MLB'§ionType=sp&statType=hitting&page=1&ts=1441057056392&timeframe=&split=&playerType=ALL&sortColumn=so&sortOrder='desc'&extended=0
Kris Bryant is second to only C. Davis is K's this year. Three more yesterday to go along with the game winning, two-run homer.
The 1st place Dodgers struck out 10 Cubs yesterday...
how'd that work out for 'em?
Iglesias is no Bumgarner/Kershaw...
He did not fare so well against the Cubs on July 21st.
Took the loss. Gave up six hits, 4 walks, 8 SO.
The only way Cincy can beat the Cubs is if Hamilton steals 5 bases. Ain't gonna happen from the DL.
I stole this on the internet. Pretty sure it's true...
