MA: argh. She better bounce and squeeze hard.
SINA - A big pile of Chinese Poo
DMND 38's squeezing!
SINA hope that POS can push into 70's by/ on tomorrow :) Some nice squeeze would be sweet.
Great call, jb! I got some W 360 too - Let's hope she busts through 360 today already :)
Got some MA W 360 @ .60, thanks for heads up jb!
SINA breaking out! GO POS!
NFLX wow, POS is taking of to 120?
GLD: Can't believe it. I had the 167 Calls @ .25 but sold the other day on dip when it spooked me out. Now they're like 1.20 x 1.30
I hate when this happens. Left a 5-bagger on the table.
Wow congrats! But I thought you got them at 2.17, i can't remember those 110 Calls being that cheap, or?: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=71316457
NFLX: Congrats allen, for a moment yesterday I thought it would probably go back down and open around 105 and your premium killed but now with it gapping up to almost 115 you should be good. Let us know how much you sold it for.
SPY 133's going to da moon. It's a new pump & dump by Copter-Ben ;) just be careful when he and his cronies at the Fed dump...
AAPL: From somebody on Yahoo boards:
Who knows for what it's worth :) lolz but might be onto something. Maybe you should've held onto your Feb (monthlies) at least. But I can understand your frustration.
DO NOT SELL YOUR CALL OPTIONS!
MM's, Hedgies, and Institutional traders did not expect such a blowout earnings release. They are trying to get in under $450 as FAST as they can so they can cover their Shorts and Uncovered Call Options. You will see this thing POP tomororw and into next week as it moves toward $500.
This is all a game, learn to play it.
DMND: Picked up some more Feb Calls. Could be a next SHLD type of short squeeze in the making with 45% short interest (just like SHLD had) as well as a big gap to 65's above.
Did you sell both your weeklies and Feb Calls?
Good luck, i went with Feb (Monthly's). Weekly's always too risky on earnings, not only because of unexpected results but also premiums getting killed.
Sucks buddy. But this isn't the first time it happens. We should know better from so many examples in the past :)
It really seems best way to play earnings is to short Calls/ Puts when the premium is getting killed the next day.
For those in on Feb monthly Calls, at least we have some time and AAPL might rise some more soon, so i'd hold for now.
Mikey, I think the CBOE or any Options calculator isn't factoring in the earnings premiums or so it seems.
Either way I think i'm done forever playing Options on earnings after AAPL now. I originally didn't wanna play because of what happens to premiums but for some reason wanted to be in on the bon-fire and thought maybe 100%+ for sure on those Calls.
Can't believe they open down. Best is to play Options on a stock up to its earnings and then get out or short-sell Calls/ Puts.
I hope so. Holding my AAPL Feb Calls now, i think you will be right and we see them rising again.
DMND big spike 37's continues to rise!
And this is exactly why I originally didn't wanna play AAPL earnings or any earnings at all, because of premiums being so high before earnings and then being killed afterwards...
I went into Feb Calls because I thought the monthly would not erode as much but same chit happened there too.
I will hold my Monthly calls now as i have time and they might rise a bit but it's disappointing to see they're down like 50% instead of up 50-100% or more.
Wow shit AAPL premiums eroded so much!
NFLX earnings AH: Anybody playing? I might go in some Feb 60-70 Puts lotto's as well as few Feb 120 Calls just in case it goes the other way. Who knows, they might surprise but there are still too many negative factors.
Earnings Preview: Netflix: http://seekingalpha.com/article/321822-earnings-preview-netflix?source=yahoo
Uh oh: Netflix set for an even worse 2012, analyst says: http://www.netflixno.com/2012/01/uh-oh-netflix-set-for-an-even-worse-2012-analyst-says/
SINA SINking :( At least AAPL makes up for every little loss this week for me (in SLV, GLD and most likely SINA)
AAPL: Go go go! Gap up as high as possible :) also upgraded to 600-650 by tons of Anal-ysts
Morning jb, do you know if Bernanke is supposed to tell today if QE3 is coming or not? Should we expect it?
AAPL: CONGRATS TO ALL OF US WITH CALLS! :) Now let's just hope the premium doesnt erode too much so we can get out with a nice profit
IBM got some W 195 - What's your take on it? IMO it looks like momentum is good to continue a day or two to 195's? Could top out in 195's then but for now i say it looks good for higher.
DNDN: Of course there had to be some new buyout rumors just when i entered Puts. Damn big boards are worse than OTC
Strange week so far. Even trying to just get in & out quick seems not to work on my end. Sometimes it really feels like the market knows exactly when you get in and then it just wants to screw you and all chart T/A becomes obsolete.
DNDN WTF sigh
SINA starting to squeeze a bit
DMND a new SHLD in the making? 45% short interest (as much as SHLD had) - Will be interesting to watch.
DNDN: did you get any Puts? I think it's a good idea with Feb.
And I read your PM (sorry can't reply since i dont use subscription)
DNDN 12's - Got Feb 11 + 10 Puts
Alright, got some DNDN FEB Puts - thanks for the idea, jb
HGT: Check out the bounce, posted it the other day: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=71165378
And now (The 15 Feb calls 100% as of now since my post but i expect more upside):
But market's are toppish, one must admit. I gave it a few days more before a correction. I don't know if this is the beginning of a correction now (i hope not, want it to go up for this week) but yes it does feel rather toppy with yesterday's 132's in SPY.
Let's see if S&P turns green later again
DNDN: Nice. Could be a retrace to 11 short term but there's also that big gap below that makes it attractive for Puts now.
The only thing that usually scares me about these bio-pharma stocks is that they often have some patents and buyouts coming from out of nowhere which makes the chart T/A obsolete.
Maybe not the case with this one.
